Some of you mentioned Coleus in the above , and I'm crying over mine. I tried to winter them in the garage and unless they die back and come back, I've lost them all. Last Summer they were beautiful and I love them
Just some of my Coleus last Summer...This picture was taken when I put them in the garage.
Didn't have good luck this winter with rooting anything. Tried but everything that came up died....I think I loved them to death with water. Anyway, don't have much to put on the patio come Spring.
Love & hugs
Faye
She's about to...58, Spring is almost here!
Lordy Faye!!! Those Brugs are really growing! Goodness. Take care of that eye and your pups. I took our dog yesterday for her semi annual check up. She had bloodwork, but no shots and the bill was over 500.00. This included her heartworm and flea meds and some flea stuff for the cats, but still...
Baby those babies for me. That's a lot of moolah, you two, but how could we live without our furry friends? For the past week, my Yorkie's bark has been about half his regular voice. Not sure what's up with that, don't think he's sick since he still has lots of energy and his appetite is good. A friend suggested he might have allergies. That would be a new thing and a trip to the vet will be in his near future too.
Faye, Does having cataract surgery mean you won't have to wear contacts anymore? This was my second year trying to overwinter Coleus and both times mine croaked. If yours have no signs of life, sadly they won't come back. But on the bright side, look at all your Brugs! Think of all the ones you'll have this year compared to the ones you lost last year.
How was lunch, Susie and LK, and what was the surprise afterward? Tell us all about you two meeting.
Yes, great news. My cataract surgery will enable me to see completely without contacts or glasses...because the "Restore" lens was inserted in my eye instead of the usual one. I have mono vision and with this lens, my eye will see everything at any distance. Will have the left eye done in a few months.
Good news about Hans. He was one pitiful little guy after his tooth surgery, but how is up eating and actually acting much more active than before his surgery. Both boys have to go back to the Vet. again next week.
The injection in my neck was for Arthritis....don't think that was the solution, still hurting.
Susan. yes I'm excited about my Angels but I'm greedy...I want those beautiful Coleus too..After all, My Angels go into the ground and the Coleus go on the patio.
Love to all..Faye

I've never seen a blue butterfly. You're a trooper, LK, traveling with a broken finger.
You guys had fun! What a beautiful time and even with a broken finger, Linda you look great! Susie I am sooo glad you two got to meet!
Somehow I got lost a few chat threads. I think on 56! I'm trying to catch up on reading from that page lol. Since I, with my doctors approval, changed up my pills I've been out of it. I'm feeling more motivated though, which is good.
Today I sowed some seeds I collected from my Passionate Cape Fuchsia. I'm not sure they come true from seed so it'll be interesting to see what emerges. I do know they passed the paper towel germination test :D I also went out and admired all the new growth. Spring must be near!! I noticed my Brugs are doing quite well. I had a bit of bad luck this winter with cuttings but those that have survived are doing great. I even have some Brug seedlings growing their second set of true leaves :D
Oh I must share this tidbit - this month I made soup from scratch on the stove for the first time. I tend to rely on the crockpot and canned stuff for soup so this was a big accomplishment. I've been using my favorite Italian soup book as my guide. Big deal to me, not such a big deal for my family unfortunately lol.
I LOVE homemade soup. My hubby has a Italian soup recipe from TV and it is wonderful.
My Dad is Scottish-Canadian but was raised by an Italian woman so I figured it would be a good starting ground. He loved every soup I made. The book I've been using is, get ready for it's awesome name, "Good & Garlicky, Thick & Hearty, Soul-Satisfying, More-Than-Minestrone Italian Soup Cookbook" ... the Garlicky part caught my attention right away.
I Would not Trade yesterday for any other winter day :) HEHE we did have fun & Just so you Know we chased those BLUE BUTTERFLIES DOWN For the 1st HOUR OR so when we got there :) WHEN They land they usually Would not have their wings open but this guy just happen to land & Enjoyed this guys arm & Everyone in the gardens Took Pictures :)
I Want to go back when the out door plants are in Bloom . well i hope to play out side & Get these sore muscles loosened up :) ya all have a great day .
susie
((((((((FAYE)))))))))))) Hugs to you and your dear furbabies. So glad to see you back again.
Give the injection in your neck a few days. It should help, if not totally, at least partly. In addition to my neck and back from surgeries, I have injections in my thumbs for arthritis. Doesn't take it ALL away, but makes them more tolerable.
Beautiful garage and plants!!! Your garage looks like the one I had in Missouri, had the same steps too. Sad about your coleus. I got some cuttings from coleup. Planted them in flower boxes and had them outside in the fall. Then brought them in to OW in a west window. I water my OW plants once a week or so. Sometimes they went 2 weeks. Both planters are doing really well and growing. I can't get to them to take pictures as they are behind a table that I have set up for other plants. Don't give up trying again. I had them die off on me too.
Which one is susie and lk? Sorry, I don't know ya'lls faces yet.
I was wondering that same thing Crit? LOL She should of least shown her hand and we would of known....
I went up to our antique/junk store today snooping around. I found some little stuff for my garden room, like cute metal hooks to hang small garden tools on. Hope I remember to put things back cause it sure would help finding things.
Ok I drove DH's truck and it was on empty! I mean the light was on saying pull over you are running out of gas empty.....
$73.87 for GAS! OMG! No wonder he hasn't put any gas in it! Boy that took a wallop out of my plant money!
Cold, wet, and windy here!
Time to water and start some seeds.
Hello everyone! I am on the right, Susie is on the left, I have the green shirt on! We had such a great time! Yeah, we were all sore from walking, but would do it again in a heart beat. Lunch was great, the garden was wonderful. But meeting Susie and getting many hugs from her was the greatest!
THANKS! Now we know who you are! :-)
Yes happ.... I was trying to see a hand so I knew who it was. LOL
Yep.....filling up my truck with a 24 gallon tank takes quite a wallop out of the wallet @ 3.39 a gal. But THAT is GAS money ..... not PLANT money. You have to seperate the two. lol Weren't you the one making stepping stones out of EE leaves last year? I still want to learn how to do that!
Yes, I was gonna make stepping stones out of ee, but I made a birdbath out of a pumpkin instead...rofl.
I couldn't bring myself to cut off the big ee leaves. I have since puchased the 'normal' ee bulbs and going to plant those to cut the leaves off....so this summer and fall I will do it. I will post some pics before then and show you. I use my big upright ee's to do yard ornaments but I only do that when one of the leaves fall.
My gas money for my small ford focus is not nearly big enough to do his truck.
Thanks for telling us Linda Kay on who is who.... ;) Love seeing you all.
Crit, thank you so much for the encouragement re: the Arthritis injection. Boy! Wow, you have been in some awful pain to have undergone so many shots. I pray you too will continue to improve without more needles. My shoulders and arms were hurting so bad that I couldn't sleep. There is just no way to lay down without your shoulders touching the bed. All the time I thought the problem was my shoulders, Dr. said it was my neck. Do hope he knows what he is talking about and has hit on the pain cure.
Hugs
Feel the pain here also & tomorrow will be just as bad :)
Sorry for not putting the names with the face & Bodies :) Guess I Just figured you all have seen many of my pictures before :))
well time to hit the shower & Lay back for the evening so good nite all & Hope all will heal soon .

With the rising cost of gas, my trips to town and to a friend's house, 16 miles in different directions, have put a damper on my driving habits, again, and am consolidating trips to get more bang out of my gas bucks. Here we go again....deja vu from 2008 when it cost $70+ to fill up my Explorer. A gallon of gas here is $3.42, and I don't even want to think what it would cost to fill up hubby's diesel truck. He has never let it get below 1/4 of a tank, but I swear, happ, it's right on the mark every time I drive it, and that's not very often. And it's about time again to hook up our trailer to it and go get a few loads of mulch. Even with the cost of diesel, the 8-mile round trip is a far cry less than the $30 delivery fee they charge.....gotta look on the bright side where we can.
Edited to say our local consignment shop had two of the cutest white flower carts outside today. Just my luck it was closing time when I went by. Can't wait to go back next week, I love finding unusual gardening tools and unusual planters.

FOTV
I gased up my Jeep and it was $3.58 a gallon. So $30.00 gave me just over 1/2 a tank.
Hearing that makes me thankful a gallon here...yet...isn't quite as much as you had to pay.
Hope it helps you Faye. I have continuing injections in my back every 3 months. Haven't had to do my neck but once since the surgery. I need to have my hands done, but will do that next time we do my back. He just saves a bit from my back and puts in my thumbs.
Have you tried accupuncture? I'm giving it a try. Have my 3rd sticking next week. he he My girlfriend swears by it and I do seem to be taking less Lortab than I usually do.
Have never tried acupuncture but good to know there is something else out there to help with "Mr. Arthur" do wish that Mr. would leave me alone. Crit I'm so sorry you have to go through so much pain. I will be praying for relief for you.
Morning all Susan I Have a Ford Focus & although it is not a truck I can still haul many things with it & I have a trailer Hitch on the back for my Flatbed Trailer witch i can then tote my Mulch when needed , but to haul a travel trailer I have never tried for i don't own one " YET " anyway gas here yesterday was $3.65. & cost me
$23. to fill up & I was on a 1/4 tank. Nothing Fancy but it works for what i need to do :)
For my aches & Pains I Take 1/4 teas of HORSERADISH add Honey On Top of it & Eat it down fast then at times I Need a grink to help wash it down but I swear it helps dose not cure but it helps .
saw it on one of DR OZ Shows .
try it Don't think it can kill you any more then the pain Very hard dealing with pain but we all go through it :)
well You all have a great day
susie
My mom gets a lot of injections in either her back and neck or her neck and head. Not sure which but each time she mentions it I cringe. I'm pretty good with injections but the thought of getting as many as she does makes me whiny like a little baby.
Thanks Faye. I pray every night for relief from the pain. I just worked too hard on the farm and custom harvesting when I was young, that I am paying for it now. My ex worked me like a man. Of course, halter breaking 300# - 600# calves to show didn't help out any ..... but I enjoyed that!
Yes Susie, very hard dealing with pain. It just exhausts you! I remember seeing that on Dr. Oz, I just love him, but haven't tried it. Do you grate it and add the honey?
I get quite a few injections myself. My pain mgmt. Dr. is sooOOooOOo NICE, and I hardly feel them at all. Plus he is cute, that takes some of the pain away. lol I just feel I'm too young to feel this dang old! Only 53. I remember as a little girl going with my mom when she played golf, and was really good at it. She had me at 42 and I think she played well into her 60's.
I Buy the store boughten HR In the jar Keep in in my frig take out what i want add the honey just to camoflage the taste :) I Trully love horseradish anyway on eggs , potatoes , sandwiches .
Susie I haven't tried HR on anything really. I do have a favorite meatloaf recipe that calls for store bought. I can't handle the hot stuff YET so I buy a very mild version.
I like Arby's horsey sauce, and creamy horseradish with my prime rib.
I'm in trouble when it comes to HR....do not like the stuff, not even to smell it. BUTTTTTTTTT, when the pain worsens, bet I could get past the "don't like" and try it.
this is why you use the honey over it to calm the bite of it then wash it down a bit with juice of sorts . if you like .
but I have gotten use the the taste & Palets are NUMB To it :)))))
Not saying it will help everyone but it dose help me .
Have a great pain free day to all .
susie
After you all get your breath back from the HR your sinuses should be nice and clean...rofl....wowzer!
Beautiful day but I am at work....so sad. Suppose to rain on the weekend, surprise surprsie.....but need DH to finish the kitchen, so rain is a good thing.
DH was laughing at me Sunday, house needs a good cleaning, but I was busy washing ee's! rofl. They are huge and one of my favorite plants.
Here is a pic of the kitchen, getting closer. I am trying a new free image editing software, looks alot like photoshop but a whole lot cheaper!
Still lots to do, but we are getting there. I was off on completion by St. Pats Day, way too nice of weather has started showing up.....
Here is a picture of the other side, where he is still working. You can kind of see the bar/island that DH built. It is amazing. I will have to take a better pic of it. I have a space that houses the everyday dishes and huge drawers that pull out all the way 9 of them actually. By the stove there are two big drawers that pull out all the way for the pots and pans. DH didn't build those cabinets, but he sanded, stained, varnished, installed the cabinets, the granite counter top, backsplash, and trim. He is really good, he just hates woodworking tho.
pagardener is hosting a garden swap " PRIDE OF YOUR GARDEN FUN AND GAMES THREAD", we need one more reliable person to participate, any of you game? It is alot of fun and a good way to get more wonderful plants for the garden.....and you all are reliable.....
Hello everyone! I am back home! I got in late last night. My finger still hurts, and I am going to the ortho Dr, tomorrow. Sure hope it is healing good?
Susie, I had a wonderful time at the butterfly gardens! I think we all walked way too much, but would do it again in a heartbeat. I gave Susie so many hugs for all of you! And the lunch at Olive garden was great too! So glad I got to meet you, and spend the day!
I am so glad my Neice Hollie was able to drive me there, and give us a person tour! She knew so much about it.
I Would not replace that day with or for any thing in the world & I Can still feel the hugs As you can see all the bragging i have done on the threads :)))
Happ Love the kitchen wish I had a over hang on the cupboards at top for storage guess i better get my brother back here :) thanks for sharing .

happ, Your new kitchen is just gorgeous! You two did such a great job and the layout flows so nicely. I can see why you're so proud of it :)
Here is Susie and I at the gardens! it was such a beautiful place, I could have stayed for a long time! Susie, I sure hope you get to go back, when more of the gardens are in bloom!
Debra, how is your Sister doing? Still thinking of her, and sending lots of prayers.
