Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Morning all, they were predicting 5 inches of snow last night, then almost 50 degrees this afternoon. I probably only got about 2 inches when I left the house at 5 this morning. Downtown got even less, I think the snow is suppose to get heavier this morning tho. The streets are so warm it isn't sticking so it is pretty except I am ready for spring.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Me too.. I am tired of being cold.

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

Good Morning everyone!!!! Sorry I worried you, but it is nice to be thought of!!! We had 2 of my very special DGD here this weekend. 4 & 7. We had so much fun. Planted each of them a flower pot to take home, and Breanna-7- helped me plant some jiffy planters. She LOVES flowers and I enjoyed showing them how to plant seeds so they will grow. She is like a little sponge and soaked it all up.
We all went to the Lawn and Garden show on Sunday. I'm so happy ..... found a guy selling T's for $3 and $5! I went hog wild. lol Will post pic when I have time.

Ahhh, what wonderful pictures. The girls are beautiful and I am sure you had so much fun. Those donkeys are just so darn cute you just got to love them. Who is the handsome guy in the first photo and is that you in the last? I love it when my Granddaughter comes over but my oh my I forget how one 4 year old can liven up a house...rofl.

DH wants me to take vacation the end of the week so he can work on the car....which would be fine but it is suppose to rain, which is ok, but that means I have to work indoors....yuck! ;)

Kitchen is still coming along...slowly, the stove is back in. Still don't have the knobs, I like the kitchen so well I am afraid I am going to mess it up putting on knobs....rofl. DH just needs to finish the place where the microwave and oven are. I thought he would be done by St pats day....but that isn't going to happen....now nice weather is approaching and if he doesn't get it done before then it will be fall before he will touch it again....or 110 degree weather which ever comes first.

Well I am going back to the apartment building tonight and see if there is anything I can dig up, I just couldn't get with it Sunday. Hopefully they just cut the tops off the plants and the roots are fine and hopefully the lady living there now will be receptive. I will gladly buy her new plants if I can have the old.

Have a great day everyone....

Oh how fun the two of you are going to meet. Wish we could all meet. Debra and I have met a couple of times and I so enjoyed it. Debra we need to meet and go plant shopping when it warms up, there are some good plant places between you and me. That is how Bonnie and I met the first time.

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

happ ..... that handsome guy is the love of my life .... my DH. And yes, that is me in the last picture. We had such a great time!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Great family time, Crit! You have a wonderful family!

Gee, now you don't need any T's??? LOL

Susie you are gonna have a ball! Like Happ says, it is so much fun to meet up with DG'rs. I hope to meet you all someday.

Neener, did you send out the ferns last year? Well they are up if it was you that sent them. Maybe Susan? gosh, I am losing my mind..
Joyce, the high colour banana you sent me is showing a leaf awakenng.. YAY!
I hope you got some plants from your moms place..

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

What a fun memory-making week-end for your whole family, Patti. Great pics!

LK, I know you're out of the loop a few days but hope you had a smooth flight today. Ya'll have a fun time gabbing over lunch, Susie, and have a toast to the rest of us that aren't with you with your iced teas.

So far I've only been able to meet a handful of DG'ers, they're really special people to me. Our time time together went so fast and is frozen in time in my mind's eye. I'd love nothing better than to get in my car and make it my mission to meet so many more.

Glad your ferns are waking up. It was me, dearier. Hubby's been riding our 4-wheeler a lot the last few weeks, scoping out the land he has leased for hunting & took me for a ride Sunday. All he said was he had a surprise to show me. I thought, yeah right, we're gonna see deers and wild turkeys, which we did, and also noticed a lot of running Cedar and a bunch of Christmas ferns when we crossed the creek several times, but his surprise was a huge authentic Indian tee-pee set up in a clearing. It was a thing of beauty.....complete with a port-a-john in the woods...so whoever is camping there isn't roughing it too much.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

What a nice surprise! I am so glad you sent me those ferns.. really special!

I wish I had a teepee up in the woods somewhere, with an old fashioned storm celler too, with filtered air vents.. right now I wish all of us had that ..*sigh* poor Japan.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Fruity you take such great pics, did you get any of the teepee? Out in winfield ks they use to have a huge blue grass festival and the few years I got to go there were several people who would set up teepees. They were huge and so cool looking. Bet when you saw it you felt like you were back in the 1800's.

Went by Moms old apartment yesterday and talked to the person living there and they said they didn't have a problem me getting what flowers are left. Looks to me the maintenance man took the minature roses, and the hydrangea, because the tops aren't cut off but have holes where they were dug up. These plants are under a big eve and only get some east sun before the pine tree blocks it out so the plants are late coming up. I am pretty sure her hostas are still there and I did see signs of two mums and sticks where the clematis were. I will get what I can this weekend and then check back. I tried to get the plants in January but the ground was so frozen I couldn't even begin to get the shovel started.

On vacation tomorrow and Friday, YES! Suppose to be 70 tomorrow and no rain so it will be wonderful. Think I will empty the garden room and solar room and clean then stick everything back in. Way to early to leave them outdoors here. But everything needs a good cleaning. It will feel so good.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Just noticed under coops someone is looking for folks interested in plumerias.......

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

No, happ, and I'm sorry I didn't. But I'll be prepared the next time we go back. We crossed the creek several times and at one place I had to dismount and jump a tree while hubby went around it. That tee-pee was about the neatest thing I've ever seen. Hubby wanted to surprise me and I only had a minute's notice to put on my tennis shoes and hoodie. Not because it was all that cold but he was afraid crossing the creek the tires would kick up mud on my back. I had one little dab of mud on my shoes...lol

My idea of Heaven is riding on the beach, by myself, with my camera bag in a basket and lots of places to stash shells.

That is so neat fruity. Did the port-a-john have toilet paper or leaves? If it had toilet paper, THAT ain't roughin' it! LOL

Still under a fire danger here, and lots of grass fires. BUT ..... Thank you God..... none are near us!

Beautiful weather here. High 70's and into the 80's through next week. Some much needed rain possible. Very humid this morning.

Got all my boxes ready for the swaps I am in. They are going in the mail today! Yippee.

Everyone have a wonderfully blessed day!!!!!

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

It was locked up tight with a padlock, doesn't appear they'd be leaf users... lol

You gals have a wonderful time, Susie. Oh how fun!

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Fruity I love your pictures. I bet you have some beautiful from the beaches.
I have dug up 12 pots with 3 strawberry plants each for our Master Gardener sale in May. It is warm here but sooooooooo windy. I have a tag in a lily that says Midnight Mystery but when I searched I didn't find anything like that....anyone ever seen this? I found the bag it came from and it says Midnight mystery lily.....anybody every heard of it? I am going to pop over to the lily forum and see what they say.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Susie you and LindaKay have a good time for us all.. Poor LK, I can't believe you did that. Ouch!
I put the blueberry shrub and the other "tree" types outside today that people have sent or given to me. Sure hope that southern magnoila takes off.
Seemed like early summer here today. Havn't taken the leaves off of stuff, everyone elses stuff is blooming, mine are just now peeking up thru the leaves. ( jonquils and crocus and stuff like that) the forsythia down the street is awsome.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

aww so pretty, mine are just now budding under the pear tree out back.

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Hi! Sure have missed you guys. So much has happened here in the last 2 weeks. First, I got started on a couple of crafts, then had to take both Hans & Snese it the Vet and believe me, that was a very expensive trip. Hans had to have 6 teeth pulled, 3 of them had to be cut out. Snese has something wrong with his right eye and right ear. A little over $1,000. in 14 days. That is the biggest stress pill I've ever had. Mon. I had an injection in the lower part of my neck, and yesterday I had Cataract surgery. Hope things will be back to normal here soon.
Praying that each of you is well and happy.
AYF, Faye

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Aww Faye, big hugs to you for..:

Loving your pets the way you do...
Taking care of all that do

Being the friend you always are...

Does this mean you will be able to see better now? Ouchy on the shot.. hope it makes you feel better!

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

Faye, heres hoping things go better for you.

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Afternoon everyone. Been trying to catch up on the thread and find that it's impossible to read and remember so much good stuff. Sure wish I could be in on the getting to meet you guys. Nothing would be higher on my wish list.
You should see my garage now...the Angels are about to grow out if it. Yep, you should see it so, I'm leaving for a minute to go take a picture.

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Here we go, the picture of Angels begging to go out of the garage and into larger pots or better (for me) still, to be planted in the ground.
