Thanks everyone, guess I have to get some guts to be able to speak on my behalf...Her son was ill so she wanted him by her side, only thing with that is with me having to watch myself very/very carefully not catching cold because of my kidney's it also concerned me...am somehow I've give her the feeling to make herself at home..promise, will have a talk with her tonight IF all the kids are not there, don't want them feeling they are in any way NOT welcome..
Guess also because I found myself about 6 years ago in a terrible situation everyone came to my rescue and I seem to feel it's payforward time...Janice, you were much like I, house is plenty big for a small family, 3 bedrooms, living room/ kitchen, big craft room, family room but when you are used to having everything the way you want it, leave for work and it's the same when you get home, well it's hard and you just have to find a middle point which I'm sure we will...
enough of my misery....
Barb, come on over sweetie, tell Norm you have to deliver material lol..
Linda Kay, must be difficult for you as well watching what foods come into the house..has he been able to get outside a bit.
Janice, your envelope with patterns has been mailed as well..imagine by Monday or so you'll have them..
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends..
He gets outside most days, but it has b een cold here lately, so he stays inside, and watches westerns 24/7! He gets mad when Todd comes home, and changes the channel for news or his programs!
Just very set in his ways too!
Betty, Everyone here is inforcing what my feelings were last night. I really believe you need to say something NOW before it ruins so much else. Although you know Danie..I don't know how well. AND to have the boys there without asking like that, and taking over ALL of your belongings and living space for hers.... it is not right. You have worked very hard, for many years, and have ALREADY started from scratch twice due to situations...you do NOT need this again. You are being made to feel uncomfortable in your own home.
I know how this is, as in many ways I am feeling the same way with Mike....and walking on eggshells for fear of hurting someones feelings...when it is making me very uncomfortable. As we have all said many times to help others....but the action is sometimes easier said than done.
Just like Mike has pushed my other family further away...they do not like to come over, feel uncomfortable...with him here. Your family is going to feel the same also in some time.
Lots of hugs, hang in there.
Betty that's because we don't usually get a lot of snow. We normally get 4 inches a Year, we got 6 inches in 12 hours, and a town about an hour south of me got 10 inches! We get a lot of freezing rain, not snow.
Susan no new car because 1. I can't find a stick shift Civic Coupe EX, I'll probably have to order one, and 2. they fixed my car apparently, I haven't had any problems with it since it went to the shop last week and I threw a fit. Dave's unemployment benefits run out in July and I don't make enough to pay the bills as it is, so I don't need to add another bill. We get Dave's truck paid off in July so that will be $305.00 a month more in the bank, if I don't buy a car, and I will be able to pay the bills on my paycheck alone, if he doesn't have a job. I know he'll find something, he's never left us for broke yet so I don't think he will now, he'll find something. Getting his truck paid off will help immensely.
LIZ!!!!!!!!
Betty I don't like confrontation either but you do what you got to do. You can't put up with crap, the more you put up with the more whoever will give you more until you get so mad you blow up, and that's never good. My ex-next door neighbor has gotten quite needy and seems to think that I'm her fetch buddy, but this fetch buddy just hit the road. She sent me a text the other day wanting me to take the key to her old house that she gave to her ex-husband in the divorce, and go over when he's not home and get some dishes she forgot. The divorce is final, she gave the house to him, she's moved out per court order so that's trespassing and I won't be doing that, she's gone loony. Who asks people to commit stupid things like this for them???
LK is absolutely right! Seems as though she's mistaken your house for hers. Remember she geeked up your computer the first day she came to your house to paint. I don't like her, I'm sorry, she extremely disrespectful. She apparently thinks she's queen to everything and she's far far far from it. Do NOT let her do this, say that and set those boundaries, you like YOUR house the way YOU have it, she has absolutely NO Right doing that, her name is NOT on the deed. You do not have to make changes to your life, you choose to make changes to your life, life's about choices. Does she work? Rose was respectful, didn't disrupt your life, change your house, do anything to make things better for her, she was the ideal renter.
Danie's being a bully and now I'm not happy. She's lucky I'm not up there, I'd tell her exactly the way it is in a very calm manner, for some reason I'm really good at that.
Crissy, I have missed you! Where have you been...that dang thing called work.
Liz, sure have missed you too! SO great to see you. Miss you and Kenny big time! And yes, remember laughing so hard my sides hurt with the two of you and Steve & Judy.
I have a laugh for you all. This is how bad things have gotten.
My daughter sent me an email....she had to reorder my Christmas gift, coat didn't fit. SO....she send me a note the UPS man is coming here today...so what do I do?
I went up, put a sweater and make up on. YES, make up for the UPS man. Lord...I need a life and out of this house!
OMG must be a thing LindaKay with us old folks...lol...change IS NOT good! lol
As for Danie, the own several homes, laundromat, car wash etc. The have tenants in about 3 homes, she wanted her hubby to give notice at the beginning of December and her husband said absolutely not..said she has done this before and came home and he wasn't about to tell people to find rental accommodations, only to find a few weeks later that she came home...so, agreement was she'd stay with me until end of March at which time she can move in what she calls 'the white house'..bit close to her hubby but if that doesn't pan out she'll certainly have to find a place to rent..she's been to Georgian College to get info about going back to school for nursing, think she said she had appt. with consultant one day next week, yesterday I thought she was going to lawyers but she says mediator so not sure where she got him..don't think she's going home this time! she is all over the place, not thinking straight so we'll see what happens...when she came in last night first thing she did is give me a bunch of lottery tickets, said she wants to make me rich so I can do the things I want to do in life...always a gift, almost every night..know she's not hurting for $$$ but absolutely no need to do so.
You would not believe her place on the lake, lordy, could put my house and 5 more in it. Yes she has a room on the lakefront side that she uses as a school room but her husband works from home so might be awkward / stressful for her to do the home schooling from there..trust me, I'm not opposed to her having the kids at my house Monday thru Friday until 5:30 when I get home..that's the part without making back friendship that I have to get across to her!
Spoke with Darlene last night who is her best friend..Danie calls her the sister she's always wanted, very tactfully I'm sure she'll let Danie know some of my concerns...pass the buck right?
Debbie and Crissy you two have me laughing.what a pair..
Debbie, really, make-up for the UPS man???? I'm laughing but I don't know, do you have regular UPS delivery men, you know what he looks like???? ahhh maybe an Elvis type looker then I'd be putting on make up as well..
Crissy, I can see you now, taking up my plight! I wouldn't doubt for a moment could you do so you'd be up here in a sec...think maybe I'm over reacting..better settle down before I'm picking you up at Buffalo airport.. I'd wait to get the new vehicle as well...did they not increase the number of weeks on unemployment in order to help those having difficulties? Did your neighbor move from next door to you Crissy or is this another friend? Nope, would not be doing something unlawful, yikes, do something bad, on your record, no more coming to my side of the border...
Hi Everybody -
Just came home to do chores and pick up a few things to do at the hospital. Tubby is getting 2 more units of blood today. He was sleeping when I left, so left him a note. Said I wouldn't be gone long. He doesn't talk much, but hates to be by himself. The Dr. said he could go home after the blood is in, but agreed to stay another night. Will check in tonight when I get home, and catch up on everything then. Have a good day everyone and thank you all for your prayers and hugs.
Shirley & Tubby
There isn't anything wrong with passing the buck.
Hey! We do have regular UPS drivers and mine is young and cute! I'd probably put make up on for him, maybe...
You are NOT over-reacting Betty, I'd be livid if I came home and found my house in "disarray." She's being extremely disrespectful of your personal belongings and basically telling you that she doesn't like the way you live so she's going to change it, I'd tell her right where she could stick it!
They did increase his unemployment benefits for another 3 months, without that he'd be losing the benefits in April. He's been on it for a year now.
This is the same next door neighbor, he beat her up in a drunken rage and she can't afford the house so she gave it to him. Divorce does something to some people, she was nice and if she couldn't do it herself it just wouldn't get done, now she wants everyone to do everything for her while she sits and waves her magic wand about. I don't play that, I don't mind helping but she's sending me these texts that say "Hey! You have to go to court with me on ___ day!" "Hey! I have a favor :) Can you go do this or that or anything I ask of you??" She had 2 female Rottweilers, one was the mom of the other. The mom went into heat again, a neighbors pit bull broke into her back yard, she took the pit bull back to his rightful owner and told him that he broke into her backyard and people need to take care of their dogs as her's never get out. After that she let her dogs get out constantly, mom dog had 5 male dogs on her the following night and of course she got pregnant. She had 3 months to take the dog to the shelter but she waited until she was about to pop, then on the only rainy day in that three month period about 3 weeks ago she wanted Dave to take her to the shelter because we have a truck and she has an SUV and the dog was wet and muddy. I told her absolutely not, she had 3 full months to take care of this when it was dry. The dog gave birth to 10 pit bull puppies 3 days before she was to move. She wanted her best friend to take the now grown pup, this would mean buy it's food, clean it's poop, and pay all vet bills, until she has a place to keep her. Her best friends husband said they would take the dog but she's not getting it back, there are no free rides in this world. They ended up with a free 9 month old female pure bred Rottweiler! I just can't be friends with someone so greedy and selfish. And I just learned that if I had gone over to her ex's house with a key, it's still considered breaking and entering, so I could have been busted for breaking and entering had I done that. I threw away the key anyway, but still!
And they will continue Shirley. I'm so glad he is getting the blood. Maybe he will feel more like himself.
And a bit of rest for you isn't a bad thing either!!!
Shirley, do they know why he is losing blood? He might have internal bleeding somewhere?
Almost 2 years ago when Todd was in the hosptial for a week, they found he had a bad bleeding ulcer. He had to have 9 units of blood! He had been saying for a few weeks that he was tired all the time, and not feeling well, but would he go to the Dr.? NO! He is male, and like all others very stubborn! Well, when he finally passed out on me here at the house, he went to the ER, and was immediately admitted! I almost lost him, because of the male stubborn syndrome! It has been almost 2 years, and he still has boughts of getting tired easily, but much better! He now takes lots of vitamins, and iron supplements!
Shirley we cross posted! I'm so glad that dr was able to talk him into staying, and staying another night. Get your chores done, get some R&R, and know that prayers are always coming up to you.
Linda, sometimes they don't loose blood, but their body and bone marrow doesn't make adequate new cells to keep replentishing the healthy blood supply. Did you know your red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets only last so many days in your body....and then they die. They do their job...and it us up to the body to keep making these new blood products. If your ill and immune system isn't up.....that is why you need blood products, especially if having chemo type medications.
Shirley, glad Tubby decided to spend another night, getting the blood and being moved here and there must be tiring for him..would imagine that he frets when alone, your the calming influence! Have a nap, do something for yourself then you can go visit. Don't forget to tell him how concerned we all are and we're all sending prayers.
Linda Kay how frightening for you..men are babies aren't they..I found the took the cold/flu as thought they are on their death beds and yet when something is life-threatening they are afraid to go get help..glad Todd got the help he needed.
Didn't realize Crissy that she had moved out..last time I heard you mention her is when you were decided if you should help get the puppies fixed..you got along fine with her hubby did you not? Wow snow that you received sure must play havoc with driving, few would have snow tires?
Had lunch..got a diamond glass cutter tip and running pliers..lordy, Darlene picked up this and that and over $400 spent and taken out in a small grocery bag...better start making nice jewelery soon..lol..have some glass holders I've made, few in purple, not sure if I'll save everything I made and mail from USA or as I make it start shipping out to you..should go to post office on the weekend and see what it cost if in a bubble envelope, only thing not sure how they handle the envelopes and would hate for you all to get something in pieces..could put it between cardboard I guess.. something to check out..
Very interesting Debby...is it platelets that some donate at the hospitals? Only ever had blood once, when my kidney's completely failed and I was fighting for my life I was given blood..remember a young cousin of Roger's who actually was a friend of mine before I met Roger came in to see me and they came to give me blood but had to pick him off the floor, here he was a giant of a man, looked like a body builder and wham..fainted...he died about 5 months ago of cancer and was down to about 90 lbs. poor soul!
Debbie, I did not know that! Thanks for the lesson!
Betty, another things they can't stand to be around is changing a baby! They will heave everytime!
Betty, Paul donates via plasmapheresis every several weeks. They take whole blood out of one arm, remove the plasma and the red blood and white blood is put back into the other arm. From the plasma they can use it to treat many things. Also, he donates red blood every 62 days I think it is. There is so much that can be done with these donations. He actually went New Years Eve to Red cross and donated as they were very low and worried about the holiday and accidents.
Shane also donates, but right now he is on a medication that prevents it. He will pick back up in April when he is off the medicines.

The rubber ducky bath toy was first manufactured during the late 1800's as a way to make bath time more enjoyable for toddlers and babies. It has since turned into a popular bath time icon known worldwide.
Check this out: during a Pacific storm on January 10, 1992, over 29,000 rubber ducky bath toys from a Chinese company were washed off of a cargo ship. Months after the storm, about two thirds of the rubber duckies had made there way to the shores of Indonesia, Australia, and South America. Some of the ducks also entered into the Bering Straight between Alaska and Russia where they became trapped in the Arctic ice. The ducks slowly made their way through the ice at one mile per day and in 2000, they were spotted in the Northern Atlantic Ocean. Talk about some world traveled ducks!
I should check Debbie if I can now give blood, for many years after my kidney problems and having 'pig' valves wasn't able to do so, just got lazy and didn't check out if I can..must do that! Congrats to your for donating...
Very interesting LindaKay..amazing how far these little ones can get..have you ever put a note in a bottle and send it off hoping to get a response? I'm up for the national ice cream day on the 15th..can it be cherry??
When working at the community center I promoted a fund raising using exactly the same ducks...we put a number with non-erasable ink on the back of the duck, sold tickets with a duck # on it..went to the Coldwater River in late April, maybe it was early May, we'd throw them all in and people would walk along the river in hopes theirs made it to the end and won the grand prize...each ticket was $5.00..sometime ducks got caught on the shoreline and other times in branches along the riverbed, they were left as is until the end of the race...was easy and we got mega people coming out to watch..had crafters selling their wares..nice community event. Some years grand prize was over $2,000. was a 50/50 venture..1/2 funds to the hall and 1/2 funds to the winner.
