Stranger now posting! LOL I usually am lurking here keeping up with all the comings and going and imagine my surprise when I discovered Betty was close by!! WOW and she didn't even call me. :-(
Sending warm (yes it is beautiful today) greetings for the New Year to all. May it be healthy, happy and good friends stay in contact.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today-visit/chat with friends..
best wishes for a happy new year all..
Did they show the ball dropping? My mom said they didn't show it, they just kept the camera on the crowd the whole time.
Happy New Years Everyone, am 45 minutes away from the Canadian Border (Detroit) dropped in to visit Joyce (Joycet) and so wanted to drop in and visit Janice and also Stacey, right now I'm at the Super 8 just down the road I believe from Stacey..it was late, bad enough I JUST dropped in on many of you that I certainly didn't want to do so at 8:00 p.m.
Now have to call Greg, he turned 42 today and in but a few hours my Roger will have passed on now 20 years..can anyone tell me why it seems like yesterday...no sense dwelling.....
Going to have an early night, bit on the tired side...will chat with you all when I get home..should be mid-afternoon tomorrow IF I get up early...other than that, praying that this coming year is the best ever...
Marion, special hugs, sorry, was such a rush trip not sure if indeed I was in your neck of the woods but promise, I'll be down to visit with you ....just never know when..
Someone is waiting for the computer here in the lobby so best say goonight!!!
You are forgiven this time but............
Hello Marion!
Betty was probably a good 3 hours from you... if she drove those to visit you...she should have surely driven 400 more miles to visit ME!!! LOL
Hope you are doing well... I just emailed my Aunt in Havana...... You may remember we exchanged a few dmails...
How are you holding up this winter ?
I'm hoping my Dad will come visit from Wewahitchka and bring a sack of oysters LOL...((HUGS))
Mary
Well, Betty beat me to it! I came in to post last night that Betty and Cathy had stopped by (and I was so excited....) but stupid computer was down! Not sure when it came up but it's working now.
Marion, Betty is to be forgiven...she didn't have a phone or any phone numbers. I was so glad they had a few minutes they could spare for a quick stop.
I surely hope I have her energy some day! Cathy is a gem....tried to get Betty to leave her so I could have a "Cathy" but she wouldn't share..... ;o)
Hope you all have a wonderful 2011. I'm gonna do my BEST to make it a good one!
Good Morning to Everyone!
It's a beautiful morning for the 2nd day of the year. The sun is shining, but I don't think it's suppose to be too warm, but as long as not stormy I won't complain.
Betty it was good to hear from you, have a safe rest of the trip.
I'm gonna go out and do chores in a couple of hrs. and clean the ice off porch and steps. Will be ready for tomorrow. Will do some cleaning and packing stuff away later. There's always a million things to be done and no fairies comes in and does it for me. Darn!
I started my list of things to pick up when tomorrow when I take Tubby in for dialysis. I need to make every minute count when I'm in the mood. I didn't do much of anything yesterday. I decided to make it a day of rest and watch TV. (Shame on me) Okay enough rattling on for now, will check in later and see what you are all doing. Have a wonderful day!
T&S
Morning Everyone!
Betty so glad you're almost home, glad you missed the storms and blizzards. I think every one of us needs a Cathy! LOL
I've caught a horrible cold, woke up at 3am with a massive sore throat, now I'm congested, have chills, body aches, blah! I'm gonna go watch some TV, think about eating something so I can take some Dayquil.
Mary, I actually was in Port Charlotte on my way back to Havana when Betty was there. Had I known I might have made contact to see her--oops Joyce said she didn't have any phone numbers. Oh well good thought.
We are still having rain today with it turning cooler tonight--no complaints as I love this weather.
"I'm gonna do my BEST to make it a good one!" if I might quote Joyce. I will be doing the same this year--sending hugs Cookie as I understand all the feelings and emotions you are dealing with at this time. I am that extra weight you feel on her shoulder but instead of pain I hope it is love you are feeling.
((((Marion)))) thanks my dear.....I do indeed need all the strength I can get. It helps so much to know that you my dear friends are with me.
Marion is Port Charlotte in the Carolinas?
Crissy - I had that same cold yesterday gal... so sorry ! Still recovering today...
Shirley - you sound like me....but you know sometimes you just gotta have a 'nothing' day and not feel guilty about it...
Love and Hugs
Mary
Hello there everyone,
Guess who is in their jammies after a hot bath..yes, little old me!!!
Stacey, think I had a hotel last night only a few miles from you..passed sign with your town name and only drove a few miles before calling it a night..
Early start this morning, was on the road at 6a.m...bit of a storm near London, Ontario but drove out of it after about 1 hour thank goodness..
Would have been home much earlier but visited with mom/Jim for about an hour and then took Cathy out to lunch in Barrie and then home...
Know it's not all about me but I just have to tell you something as I shake my head..
Mom and Jim had just arrived home from the cottage, Jim was out in the garage emptying garbage bags, why I asked???? mom had put $$$ in 6 envelopes for Sharon, Bernie and the kids for Christmas, couldn't find them and thought she may have thrown them away in the garbage but Jim did not find them..
One look at my car and Jim was rolling his eyes, as we unpacked he asked why I would bring all this back with me..told him my 'mom' gave me a list and here it was; he was NOT pleased!!!
Asked him to come in the house, wanted to tell both of them about the trip, about the problems in Clearwater, what I brought home and what I left behind, BUT, big/big BUT mom says to me, 'a few days before Christmas I decided that I would leave everything down in Clearwater and just walk away!' so I say, 'why in the world wouldn't you tell me that?' she says 'didn't want to disappoint you in saying it and then you couldn't go to Florida!' drats and more drats, didn't want to go, was just doing what I felt I had to so she wouldn't have the worry...we sit and as we are talking first thing she says to Jim 'Jim, can you dial Kim (my SIL) and find out when big object pick-up is, all that junk needs to be thrown out!'
Imagine that, lifting, getting a cargo carrier, totes, micro-packing, driving to Florida and back inside a week, my being only driver to tell me such a think..had to laugh or else I'd cry.
I did get my gift though from Mom and Jim, new Kodak camera. Thought I'd install the downloader but much too tired to do so tonight..it can wait!
Then I get home, can't get in, doors are all locked. One would think that is the norm, nope, think you all know I never lock my doors, always open to welcome all, crazy I know but that's me..now, I find myself unable to get in, I don't even have a key, had already told Dannie NOT to lock the door because I had no key...well I guess when I purchased the house 6 years ago I must have had a key and given it to Darlene for something ...just as I'm starting to fret Ann pulls in with her SIL, coming to feed the furries, she's laughing, asks if I'm locked out, yes I am, well apparently they had about 6 keys made, gave them out to all the girls who usually come around to do things for me and as a bonus have one on the table for me! Ann showed me where they hid a key lol so was able to get in...Dannie had left for Montreal and she has a key so don't have to worry about her.
Ann said that Jeff came up for New Years, knew I never locked my doors, found it odd that the doors were locked so he texted Ann's daughter Melissa to ask if she knew where his mom hid a key..I'm sure he was impressed..lol...
Boy oh boy, what's the sense in having a key if the entire community has one???? having a key won't encourage me to lock the doors...
Anyway, been interesting since I've been home, now it's time to rest.
Sorry everyone, do want to read and take in all your posts and tomorrow at work I'll have zippo to do and will be able to gab/gab/gab...
One wish for tomorrow - could I please have a snowday!!!!
Betty, Betty -
We are so glad that you made it home safe and sound. I can only imagine how tired you must be. It is taxing on the nerves driving and worrying about all that you thought you had to do. God Bless you girl, I would be upset also to think of the time it took and the expense when you could have stayed home and enjoyed the family and friends and taken it easy. There will an extra star for you some day. It's amazing what we do for our parents as well as children.
You know you have trusting friends when you can give all those keys out. They could've had a party at your place and you'd never been the wiser, well unless they didn't clean up after themselves.LOL
You take it easy now and get a good nights rest. We will all pray that you can have a snow day tomorrow. Just glad you are home as you were deeply missed while gone. Good NIght!
Tubby & Shirley
Mary, no Port Charlotte, Fl just below Sarasota and north of Ft. Myers.
OMG Betty!!!! I can't believe she did that to you. She really thought you WANTED to go to FL???
And then to give you a list on top of that!!!! Yes, you surely will have earned that golden halo....God bless you girl!!! I think the thing that impresses me the most is that you held your tongue!!! Don't know if I could have.
I sure wish we could go back to those days when we left doors unlocked and the only keys we had were always in the car....Life was so much simpler then and we didn't have half the worries.
Having a spot of muscle pull in my lower back so calling it a night myself. Get some well deserved rest my friend....
Oh Betty, I would be screaming! She doesn't even want the tv, didn't you say there was a newer one she had to have? My goodness. She is loosing it....poor Jim and you! Big hugs.
I have been parked on the couch most of the day.
DH is taking Shannon for her surgery tomorrow and won't let me go up. I understand his reasoning...but I will worry non stop.
Rest up Betty....
Debbie
Betty - ((HUGS!)) OMG... I can't imagine how you felt...
We never lock our doors here either... with all the teens in and out... there's no point...
Did you at least have some fun on your adventure so that it can be memorable? Wish you had a chance to visit Disney while there ....
Okay - Marion - I get it now.. you were coming up from south Florida... I'm not as familiar with the peninsula as I am with the panhandle... ((HUGS))
Well - tomorrow will feel like the "First" day of the year. Back to work...
Oh Betty sending you big hugs! That is just terrible - why your DM couldn't tell you before you struck off for Fla sure is beyond me. I think I probably would have cried if in your position. You're a good daughter Betty, hope your DM realizes that soon.
We too do not lock doors - noone in their right mind would want to come through the door and face Stormy. If I was in the house alone Stormy would be even worse! Our plow guy won't get out of his truck to collect his $$s if Stormy is outside on his leash. In some ways being waaaaay out in the bush has its advantages.Once in the early seventies I decided to go to my parents' house for a few days of March break. Mam and dad never locked their house, in fact they didn't even have a key. Or so I thought! My folks had gone to Hawaii early that year but before they went dad had a new lock put on the back door. Oooops! No neighbours had a key either. I'm thinking I came all this way to lounge around in a motel room??? Finally tracked down a cousin who knew where dad had hid the key.
Shirley I would have been delighted to mosey on down to your place for coffee the other morning. I so understand the position your are in - having to make every second count when Tubby has his dialysis. Sure hope you are taking some time for yourself too each day!!
Ok, how many of you are going back to work for a rest?
Sweet dreams everyone.
Dianne
Wow Betty You are a much better person than I. I would not have been able to hold my tongue.
Well atleast it is done and hope you had some fun along the way.
Ok that cold stopped by my house and left sitting my recliner. Still feeling it today.
YEA kids back to school today.......
To all have a great day and the coffee is on.
Oh boy Laura, can I have a cup please? Been fighting a muscle pull in the lower back that just doesn't want to let up. Not quite sciatica but close enough!!! One more day of rest ought to do it.
Betty, I thought of you all night and still don't know how you managed to keep control. I hope though that you know that it is time to live your own life. If Mom wants something, remind her gently that she has other children that would just love the chance to help her out but that right now you have other committments. (Maybe Jim could keep you abreast of what is important and what isn't).
Today Iwant to get the sewing room straihgtened out once again. After all the Christmas sewing, it is a bit messy again - fabrics to put away; scraps to keep or send to Thunder - and most of all a good dusting and vac.
Sounds like everyone made it through the holidays just fine. That 's wonderful... Have any of you made any resolutions? I only make strong suggestions to myself so I don't get upset with me if they don't come to pass. I want to try to keep my house less cluttered. That means getting rid of stuff that we just don't need or want. I've kept too much over the years....How about you??
Off to get that coffee. Catch up with you all later....
Yes Crissy we actually saw the ball drop!! in NYC then the replay of the peach drop in Atlanta !!
Betty, I would have been crying, and I am very bad, I would have had to yell at her if it was my Momma...............I am known to hold things in for quite some time, and then that "one more thing" happens....and I explode!!! I definitely think this would have been an "explode"
Chrissy and Mary, hope you get over your colds quick!!
Hugs and Love to all in need....
Morning, stopping by for a sec.
Last night before going to bed I could smell odor like gas, thought maybe free-on in refrigerator might be acting up although it's only 4 years old, Danie had filled the freezer to the brim so thought maybe food was pushing against back fan and creating a problem..moved everything and went to bed....this morning could still smell a strong odor so thought I best not go to work and call Embridge gas for them to come and check their equipment..also wondered if because the zinc wasn't used in a week if gases could come from there..grasping on many 'maybe's; so here I am, opening doors here and there just incase it is gas, packing up totes full of my Christmas treasures while waiting for them to come..
Haven't even had my first cup of coffee so off I go, back shortly
Betty, so glad to hear your back home safe and sound, but good lord, if your Mom does not want all the stuff she ask for, why throw it away? I would have a big old yard sale, and make your money back!
Sure hope you find the source of your gas leak!
Morning All!
Well, have been up for long time but have been busy on phone. My DS from St. Jo, MO called at 2AM and said her friend was coming to take her to hospital. Her heart was racing, nausea and diarrhrea. She was scared and so thought she'd let me know. She never has been good about seeking medical advice. She called again at 3:45 and said they were getting BP and heart rate down. Her friend called about 7 and gave me her direct number to room. We talked, waiting for Cardiologist to come in and see her. I had to call DM and tell her, that was the hardiest as I know she'll just worry and fret and she's by herself. She has a heart condition herself. Will probably call a close friend of hers and have her go check on her later. Thank God for people that will do that for a person. I called DS in Lincoln, she is going take care of something at school and then go down to be with her. That takes a load of my mind. My twin had open heart surgery a few years back. It runs in family. I know that in my heart that everything will turn out okay.
Tubby has already been sick a couple times this AM. He is resting now and I won't wake him up till closer to getting dressed for dialysis. I wish I could figure out what is going on with his stomach. Sitting up it's so uncomfortable. He said everything just feels squished together.
The dogs are at the door, will be back in a second to finish this note. Have to get some book work done before going to town.
Betty - hope that gas smell is nothing. I worry about you. Please keep us informed.
Chrissy & Mary hope you get well soon. There is nothing worse then feeling like C--- anytime of the year.
Debbie - will saying a prayer for your DD today and hope everything goes well for surgery. Hope your pain has eased up some. If you have to take Mortrin, make sure you drink milk and eat something before taking it. Have you tried Tylenol, as that doesn't upset tummy?
Sort of overcast this AM, but think sun will come out later. Will take curtains down while Tubby in town. I'll hang them up again before I have to go get him.
Okay, wnough rambling on, will chat later today. Have a great day. I'll think of everyone that has to go back to work today.
Tubby & Shirley
Good Day!
I hope your all getting the Kiss from the Sun today!
Betty, Betty, omg, you are such a gem, can't even say I would have held my tongue, I know I would have been seething mad, But on the brighter side of the situation, How wonderful you were able to make a few stops and visit with Maggie, Thunder's, bummer she missed you missed each other, but very cool you met her DS and got some great fruit from her trees! Oh and of course, Hugging up our Sunshine, Joyce!
Well, I think Linda hit that right on the head, have garage sale...
I sure enjoyed reading about everyone Christmas.
Betty, the memory book is spectacular!
Aww, Chrissy, what a great gift, that sure is a nice Flat Screen!! Sending you hugs, I hope that cold leaves you, snuggle up under the covers and drink lots of water...
Also sending you gentle hugs Barb, Hope that muscles gets back, Yep take one more day of rest.
Hi Tubby and Shirley, Shirley how great you took the day to rest, I am glad for you and I don't think you should feel guilty.
Oh my, sorry to hear of your DD? I bet she must be terrified if she went to the Doc, i hope that it isn't a serious problem.
please keep us posted.
(((((((Linda Kay))))))) How sorry I was to hear about your niece, prayers going up.
Mary, I hope your first Day of the year back to work is a good one!
Debbie, Got your DD in mind today, i hope the surgery goes well...And how are you mending?? Did you get a cast put on. Was glad your DH came home to take care of you.
Yay, Laura kids back to school today. I know what you mean, I m glad everyone is back to their routines...I did all my stuff yesterday so i can relax a little bit today...Just have a few things to take care of.
HI Bev, OMG, what a beautiful Cardinal! Thank you so much for sharing it. How are you doing?
Dianne, So sorry I missed your Birthday and Anniversary...Happy Belated, I hope it was wonderful!!
Ohh, Betty, i am so jelous about your new Kodak camera!! How fun you will have learning how to use it!
OH GOODNESS, School just called, Sabrina on her way home, something set her off so she is seething mad herself. I am trying to get her to talk to me, but she just says she hates everything. In the mean time i am so worried I am shaking! The other night she came home in the same manner so i need her to talk to me, when i asked all she said was it was a long story...sigh, I think it's time for a long ride somewhere.
Well, I better get off this and go watch for her.
See you later.
PS been trying to post for a while so if I've missed you, Ill catch up again!
OMG Shirley, as if you didn't have enough on your plate and now this worry! Saying prayers for all of you. Your daughter isn't very old is she? How right you are when you say thank goodness for the kindness of others who are always willing to help out. Best your mom hear it from you rather than you keeping it from her to save her the heartache and she finds out. Sorry to hear that Tubby is not the best today, will they still do dialysis even though he's so ill? Imagine you got very little sleep last night anxiously awaiting news.
Was hoping 2011 would start out much better for all of you..now here's Debbie worrying over her daughter having surgery today, Barb pulling a muscle, hurts like the dickens for sure, Crissy and Mary down with a cold,
Thunder heartbroken with son being deployed.
Debbie, any news on Shannon yet?
Dianne, think it's a Canadian thing right this no locking of doors????
Did you have a good Christmas/New Years..see that a lot of snow has melted due to mild temps and rain...snowing here today and likely tomorrow so that will make everyone who loves outdoor sports happy! Tomorrow I'll be back at work trying Dianne to find a way to entertain myself...any ideas?
Mary, did go to Epcot, did Mickey not call to say hello, told him to...was so funny, I may have said this before...
Looked for somewhere to take Cathy after her helping me, Busch Gardens I thought might be nice but could see she wouldn't be that impressed so asked if she was up for another ride, approx 2 1/2 hrs. one way and we'd go to Cape Canaval?? she said yes so off we go, get at the entrance of Epcot on Hwy4 and dead stopped, flashing signs said there was a big delay so I said 'Lord wants us to go to Epcot, he's telling us by putting us right into the entrance' Cathy laughs and says 'no, it's just an accident' hey, an accident right at the entrance of Epcot??? you know me and my signs, right into the parking lot we went and what a day we had...didn't have my camera due to dead batteries but Cathy purchased a disposable so as soon as she gets photo's I'll show you some.
Laura though you are on top of the world, children all back in school..yippee for sure.
OMG Barb, going through putting away Christmas decorations and in between when I come upon some things and thought of the junk at mom's so already filled 2 bags to throw out as well..once house is in order you can guarantee going to do major purging, if good, will donate to ValueVillage to help their efforts.
LindaKay, I do 1 of 2 things when I get mega angry, one is cry and the other laugh, this time it was laugh..what can you do? Am so seeing major changes in her, not sure if it's the pain killers she's taking or just missing a beat!!! Feel bad for Jim though....
Thunder, just had a grapefruit from your yard, yummy yummy in my tummy I'll tell you...you can so be proud of your son, here a stranger shows up at your door, he has absolutely no clue who I am or why I'm there but the minute I said I was a gardening friend dropping in from Canada he invited us to drink orange juice freshly made (we had just had breakfast so passed on the drink) then in the house to get bags for us and told us to help ourselves to oranges/tangerines and grapefruits..both Cathy and I filled a bag. OMG just the fruit on the ground you could feed a town..wow, lots of fruit for sure...when I keyed in your address in the gps I had broken arrow but it showed me there was a broken oak, o.k. thought I might have made an error so followed the instructions, couldn't find your home..on the left hand side where the road forks out there was a man standing at his drive, long drive on the right, asked him if he knew you, described some of the info I had, i.e. son in army, your name and he directed me right to your yard, said look for the orange trees..lol..and that I did! I'll have to show you photo's I took, still didn't download them....sure wish we could have met...BUT I still have an open invitation for Marion's, my girlfriend Geraldine and a few others so who knws when the 10 minute urge sets in and I take the road again..hey, can always head towards Mary's as well..one day/one day!
Marion, next time I'll be more prepared and will have your info on me. We weren't too far from each other, could have met somewhere in between had I been smart enough to bring info.
Waving Judy, saw you post about LindaKay's niece and a hi to Bev, must go back and read more posts..need to catch up
Hope you posted info on your Christmas, any photo's???
You'd all enjoy meeting our Maggie, such a wee little one, could see she was still quite ill although she said she was improving each day...got to tell you though, her little one Tommy stole my heart..think of the biggest drawlllll anyone had in USA and say "Miss Betty' omg...would have taken him home in a second.. her family is lovely, hard when you are passing and taking time for hugs only...but I was thrilled!
Understand Betty. I will assure you that missing the chance to met Thunder was a sad one. She is absolutely wonderful and the sweetest person--so is her hubby. I was fortunate to met them last year at the garden festival. I am actually between home (Havana) and the Port Charlotte area most of the time now and for some time (?) to come. Was suppose to return this Wednesday but had some issues arise here that require my attention so travel has been postpone (subject to daily reports on Mom) until the 14th or 18th.
Thought just crossed my mind---I still haven't had the birthday celebration my children had planned so maybe when things settle down and it is scheduled you can make a trip south. Of course, it might be celebrating 2 --only time will tell. Shucks, a celebration is a celebration who needs a reason.

Shannon is back home. DH's phone wasn't texting from the hospital so I never got the message she was out....until they were half way home.
Judy...I don't have a cast, I have a ski boot aparatus with velcro straps all over it. Comes half way up the lower leg....its a beauty! haha
Between Shannon & myself....DH has his hands full. I think he will be more than happy to go back to work tomorrow.
This is a picture of the foot 2 days ago in the morning. Come night time, it looks worse! lol It isn't this yellow...but the flash set that off...sorry.
Betty glad you made it home! What's going on with your gas leak? Sorry about your mom, the pain meds, especially Oxycodone will cause these sorts of things to happen. My grandmother used to say, "That stuff will make the most sane person loony as a J-Bird!" I hated to tell her, but so will Alzheimer's. LOL
Judy hope you find out what's going on with your daughter. I would never tell my mom things.
Debbie hope your DD surgery went ok, know you'll check in when you can.
LK many prayers going out to your niece.
Marion and Joyce, still praying for your moms.
Shoot, with all that's going on, New Years, power going off and on all weekend, being sick, I forgot to pay my student loan payment and they added late fees to it, it was due on the first and I paid it this morning, hopefully that won't show on my credit report. gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Oh, I called in sick today too, then right after I did my fever broke, so I feel a lot better!
For those of you with colds / chest congestion
Subject: VICK'S VapoRub
*VICK'S VapoRub - INTERESTING*
*It's worth a Try at least once.*
*
During a lecture on Essential Oils, they told us how the foot soles can
absorb oils. Their example: Put garlic on your feet and within 20
Minutes you can 'taste' it.
Some of us have used Vicks VapoRub for years for everything from chapped
lips to sore toes and many body parts in between. But I've never heard
of this. And don't laugh, it works 100% of the time, although the
scientists who discovered it aren't sure why.
To stop night time coughing in a child (or adult as we found out
personally), put Vicks VapoRub generously on the soles of your feet,
cover with socks, and the heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5
minutes and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. Works 100% of
the time and is more effective in children than even very strong
prescription cough medicines. In addition it is extremely Soothing and
comforting and they will sleep soundly.
Just happened to tune in A.M. Radio and picked up this guy talking about
why cough medicines in kids often do more harm than good, due to the
chemicals in them This method of using Vicks VapoRub on the soles of the
feet was found to be more effective than prescribed medicines for
children at bed time. In addition it seems to have a soothing and
calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep soundly.
My wife tried it on herself when she had a very deep constant and
persistent cough a few weeks ago and it worked 100%! She said that it
felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her, coughing stopped in a few
minutes. So she went from; every few seconds uncontrollable coughing,
she slept cough-free for hours every night she used it.
If you have grandchildren, pass this on.
If you end up sick, try it yourself and you will be amazed at how it works.
DON'T SHUN THIS ONE.. TRY IT THE NEXT TIME YOU GET A BAD COLD.
THE ONLY THING YOU CAN LOSE IS YOUR COUGH..*
Debbie we crossed, my mom was in the same boot, so much better than a cast!
Crissy, so glad the fever broke!! I am also glad you took the day, even if the fever broke.
Thanks about Breenie, She has been out walking, thinking and such...Keeping in constant touch via txt.
Her mood has lifted and right now she went to Mcd for lunch. And i am hopeful she decides to return to school for afternoon classes.
But when she does get home, rest assured i will be having a talk...
Ohh Debbie, yikes! Well, I am glad that you have the boot, it sure is alot easier to get around in. MIL had the same when she broke her ankle. So, did you finish the story you were reading, lol have to keep that foot up so I hope you did. Aw poor DH, probably will be glad to get back to work. I know my DH was going bonkers with being home. But the good side to that was he got the needed rest. Slept in to 8 almost every day!!
OMG, got to say that is just too funny Betty, that everyone but you has a key to your house!!
Well, my Christmas was just beautiful all the way around.
We had Christmas eve here with Steves family...Our cousin Brandon and his Girlfriend came in from Boston for Thanksgiving.
It was really wonderful to see them. We received a call from a very excited Joyce(his mom) They were engaged over Christmas!!
LOL, I am the only one who already knew this was happening! They were celebrating Christmas with Nicole's family in Greece and that's where he proposed...Anyway, We didn't have a gift exchange and everyone who was here took part in the Prayer fire. I have to say, I think it will become a regular tradition.
This is MIL.
Here is our Christmas tree this year!
We changed the location, to this window.
Julia was saying how we need new ornaments so, I gave them each a new one.
Anyway, I thought our tree was just the right size.
Another thing we did differently, we opened gifts on Christmas eve...Then on Christmas day we cleaned the stockings out.
Well, hands on the hips, my stocking was EMPTY and Boohoo too! LOL everyone did give me a smallish gift, but never thought to put them in the stocking, hahaha. Geewiz got to teach them everything, LOLOL
Anyway, everyone was pleased with all the gifts.
Then We packed and Left for Wisconsin.
The ride was incredible. It's a 6 hour ride we made it in 5, Roads were clear and not a lot of traffic.
We ended up staying with my DB and SIL!! So nice of them, they worked so we had the run of the house.
On the way in we stopped for groceries, lol didn't want to eat them out of house and home.
Well, i have got to report, that they are getting things taken care of...
The last time we went to visit was in VERY, VERY bad condition.
Now they have 2 sets of bunk beds...a new floor installed and new heating.
So whew they pulling themselves together. Brother is a stay at home dad and Candy goes to work.
The kids are very social and well behaved.
And They are all making excellent progress with Lil Jack...(he's Autistic for those who don't know.)
Anyway they use both pictures and sign language with him. He has a teacher who come to the house three days of the week to work with him for 3 hours.
Well Lil Jack got hold of my camera and took a bazillion pictures so he could watch the flash!!
Getting my camera back was no easy task and Dad had to finally step in.
Batteries went out, so no more pictures.
Now, They are just now able to keep pictures on the wall, as lil Jack kept taking them down...
After that visit Jayden, Bo's daughter came for a visit. Aw I haven't seen her in 3 years!
She is doing very well. She's now 11 and her brother Bo Bear is 6. Unfortunatley he was more interest in watchnng his TV show, so we didn't get to see him.
Jayden and I had a great hide and seek game..She said I reminded her of her Aunti Honey, lol she was surprised when I told her well thats my sister!.
The next day we went to see my cousin Marie.
Wow, it seems that everyone is not on good terms with her.
LOL, I said well we aren't everyone lets go visit.
We were very glad we did. She has had some serious issues and is now on the mend.
And i have to say she looks really good too.
That very same day, Sabrina went to work with Melissa, my niece. She is the one who has the Tatoo and piercing store.
They are doing really well. They were thinking of going to Nevada and get married but glad they changed their mind.
We would have missed them. So they left the day after we did...Next time i see them they will be married!
About darn time, lol they've been together for 15 years and have one son!
OMG, Melissa is doing wonderful..she started this diet and has lost 50 lbs! She still has a way to go but how great for her.
Now she is trying to get Chase on the same diet.
This is Chase and Jake. OMG once those 2 got together there was no separating them from the out doors.
They snow mobiled and 4 wheeled all over the lakes and trails.
