Best/Worse/What did I learn today-visit/chat with friends..

Glenview, IL

The next morning we left to start heading South.

We stopped into Rhinelander to see Melissa and Nicks store.
nice little shop...They sell clothing and body jerwlery as well.

Grrr, was so bummed no batteries yet...I wanted to take o pic of the store.
It's called Karma.

After that went and visited my Sister Ginni.
She has a lovely little apartment. She is doing very well on her own.
i am so proud of her...We met the building manager too.
She said Ginni was a very good person, lol like i didn't know that.
Anyway, Gin had jacob and Steve change some light bulbs and move contents from shelves too high.
She has been smoke free for 8 years now! And she looks Real good, lost a bunch of weight as well.
Said she has been eating better.

By the time we hit the road, we had another 2 hour ride to Pelican lake to see Shawn and Baby Donavan.
Bears son and grandson...If he isn't just the most adorable little guy!

We stayed at Mole Lake Resort for the night. And Shawn drove over...It was a miracle we even found Mole Lake!
LOL, it was getting dark, we were on some road that had no name...by time we got there I was one frazzled wreck.
LOL, we asked Sabrina, who was just there the day before if anything looked familiar, hhhhaha, sure she says those trees look just like the ones we passed an hour and a half ago, brat!

Well that is where i one 20 bucks on a slot machine. Woohoo, thats how I paid for my new DG subscription, lol lucky you, your stuck with me for another year, wink, wink.

So it was just incredible to see everyone...Oh forgot to say, My cousin Marie is a first time Grandma!
A beautiful little girl and another on the way!
hehehe, also, forgot to say...My little cutie Josephine, is 3, as soon as she saw me said Hi Gamma...how can one not fall in love, too cute. Donavan calls me Grandti...

Now we are back home. Celebrated the New Year with Julia the kids friends...
I made no resolutions as somehow they never work, so I said I am just going to try and be a better person.
Awe, and to my surprise, Anthony paid me a great compliment by saying I am already a great person.

Well, remember Jenny? She, Kurt and the Baby stopped by yesterday. They are engaged!! I am so happy for her, them.

Judy, omg such a worry and the fact that she's keeping it within herself just isn't good..yep, long rides work so off you go...love the photo's! Now you should have shown us a front view of your MIL lol hard to tell if Steve looks like her but I do see resemblance in your brother and you..kids are just too adorable. What a perfect Christmas you had..congratulations to the newly engaged couple, now will you go to the wedding?

Debbie, lordy girl you are hard on yourself, that looks so very painful, maybe you'll get some much deserved rest being confined to couch or bed.. no wonder you were to stay home today, think you should have been in the hospital as well...how is Shannon?

I'm gabbing back and forth on msn here with sister Sharon, she just spoke to mom as did I a few minutes ago..she's been crying all day, can't stop, I asked her if it had anything to do with no more Florida place and she said she didn't think so, just very depressed so I told her most likely it's because she's not well..didn't realize that she got called for her MRI last week and she thought she'd go to doctors today but they are closed so that's part of being upset, then she said she's very lonely, I SO WANTED to say, spend Christmas with the dog rather than your family, that's enough company for you, but didn't...

Sharon was now telling her it was time to put her house for sale and move to cottage (large one floor home) so she could get around better but had quite a discussion with her....told her to leave it a bit, let her get over this change...think the house bit is up to Jim and her not us..

Sharon's last comment...lol

says she's so lonely, sick of being sick, she was just carrying on... I told her she would be dead and not enjoying her dog she's so worried about, then she goes on about knees, ad the Dr. is away.... just everything, everything and now you wonder why I hardly ever phone there.."

Tough getting old isn't it..no more complaining but you got to know it's just not easy..not easy for our loved ones and not easy for us...

Marion, think you are going through a rough time as well, any improvement with your mom...ahhhh good birthday gift would be to fly you here, I could take you visit your kin and we could go visit Debbie!

Debbie, always use vic's..up the nostrils, that really clears them up for breathing.

Dianne, happy belated birthday and anniversary- hope you got spoilt..

Put the disc I got with camera in computer..has 3 different things you can click on, none of which to me has anything to do with the camera..will have to wait for either Jeff or Danie...Danie I believe will be home Wedn. or Thurs. not sure if home means here or her home.

As for the gas smell, something was blocking the air vent outside, wouldn't you know, said he really should close down my gas until repaired, gave him the oh no look, gave me a work order which says it has to be done immediately so he temp. opened it and I called Greg, speaking of mom's, I'm sure he's not impressed to have to come tomorrow and do changes but it's a must...

Bev, how ar eyou and Scotty managing?

Here I am helping myself to Thunder's oranges...

Think we'll all be glad to get back into a routine now won't we..with so many days off we don't know which day is which, wrong, did know it was Monday - work day, felt bad about not going in, truly did!

Cathy having orange juice at the Visitor Center in Florida, lordy we could have just had big glass full at Thunder's instead..they hardly give you enough to wet your whistle

Hey Lil Injun....thanks for taking us along on your journey!

Just wanted to remind you that if all works out...the sistahs are heading your way THIS year...in just a few months!!!! ^_^

Yeah, Betty....what about the gas????? Betty and Cathy were talking about no "hydro" in Florida....well....guess you sure can tell I'm NOT from Canada....had to figure out what "hydro" was!!!!!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Wow...get that checked in to pronto, Betty....surely don't want your place to blow up....you might have to go stay with MOM!!!!

Wish I'd known she was going to throw all that stuff out....(you did say that she probably would!) cause I would have taken some of her 20 sets of sheets!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

LOL , Joyce you should have said something, you saw them all sitting there, you could have had your pick, she would not have missed them for sure, doubt she even remembered how many there were...

Forget what you call your 'hydro'???? little differences aren't there..

Joyce, you should drive up to Janice's some long weekend and hop in her vehicle and come visit..think you are about 2 1/2 hrs. from her house and then about 5 to mine...don't have to wait for a reunion you know...Janice often mentions taking a drive over this side

Wonder what could go wrong tomorrow so I could get to stay home again...lol

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

We call it electric. That sounds like a good time. Oh Janiiiicccceeee....

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I broke it last Tuesday...a week tomorrow. Have been to two doctors, xrays the works. Its broken down the left side of the left foot and frayed ligaments.

I shall live.

Shannon is quite swollen, and in bed sleeping. Had some "italian shaved ice" and just wants to sleep.

Glenview, IL

Debbie, glad to hear Shannon's home...Tomorrow morning she will be starving! Yikes, SIL's daughter had 4 wisdom teeth pulled in one day, First thing she did in the AM was make a scrambled eggs...Thankfully she is on pain killers?

As for your break, how long will you be in the boot? Oh golly frayed ligaments? what can be done with those, OMG will you have to have surgery???

Betty, OMG, so glad you stayed home to get that gas taken care of!!

Yaayy, Sunshine, you know, I am so very excited about having the gathering, lol exactly 7 months away...Have a list a mile long for things to get done on both places beforehand..But I figure I am going to start a thread soon in order to be a good planner! LOL, need to know how many want to come so i can figure where to put everyone, LOL will move the kids to their friends houses, so I can use their rooms!! hahaha, or they can camp in the yard too...

Thanks for reading about my trip!

Wow...All the power in the area just went out for 10minutes! Can't believe my post still popped on, thought for sure it would be gone.
DH just got home so he is fixing all the clocks...
sending to see if this actually goes thru...

Lyndonville, NY

Judy, I go back Jan. 20th...will see how it is healing and go from there. He said this isn't bad enough for surgery (thank heavens!) and long as I obey the rules and don't go crazy, it should heal on its own. Of course he had to throw in "well, at your age". I could have hit him with my crutches! lol

Yes, Shannon is hungry. She had the Italian ice, and then at 5:00 when she had pain meds, she had some pudding. She has so many stitches in her mouth she said it is difficult to eat/swallow. She goes back on Monday also.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yikes, had eye teeth and wisdom teeth out can you believe AFTER I got my dentures, talk about pain..let's hope she heals quickly..what is Italice ice??? ice cream?

Debbie the kind of injury you have is far worse than a break, maybe this is God's way of making you rest..

Judy hurry and have your reunion so I can have mine..yes, lots of planning, would imagine I'll only be able to make the days in Glenview, who knows, Debbie may be walking by then and can travel with me and my gps....I know how she loves my driving adventures...

Joyce was Janice away? perhaps at Stacey's over New Years...

Where is that Susan, since she got the job we don't hear much from her..probably making herself indispensible...

How are you feeling tonight Crissy???

Yawning away here, Kyle called just as I was dozing off, of course, he told me all about his Christmas break, what he got, who did what etc. lol quite the man..already excited about December and being able to get his drivers permit..how time flies..was falling asleep during our conversation so now it's off to bed for me..

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All !

Judy - what a beautiful holiday full of friends and family ! Loved reading all.... feel like I'm 'one of the family'... great new traditions as well...

Deb - YOU my gal... are PSYCHIC! Not one hour before getting online... I was all over the house looking for some vicks. Now I'm convinced via your email that vicks on my feet will cure me...and of course we can't find any. I mean... mom is turning over in her grave... we ALWAYS had Vicks on hand ! I think just having mommy rub on my back and chest cured me....whenever I was sick and growing up....

Wow my heart is with you both .... teen issues... I know I know... 'been there'. Havent done the wisdom teeth yet... but 'have' done the "I just can't talk about it" deal. so so difficult.

Hope you are feeling better Crissy gal ! I'm still congested...just took Nyquil. Thanks Barefoot for the well wishes... just a cold / chills but hard to shake !

Betty ! You went to Epcot without me ! LOL... Good thing I didn't know beforehand or I'd have you miserable with a detailed list of what attractions / rides to visit.... Soarin'? Test Track? The new deal is called "Sum of All Thrills"... it's educational and you design your own roller coaster then ride it. Not a HUGE attraction but in Innoventions.

2011.....wow - you guys will have to keep me posted on the gathering... and when.

May will be HUGE... nephew graduating and Niece getting married (in Fort Walton Beach, FL)....not a bad place to visit a couple times in May ! LOL

Will check back in a bit... going to look for Vicks again...

(HUGS)
Mary

Lyndonville, NY

Mary, I have that Vicks memory also....I have a bottle here, will gladly share. Mom would rub me in vicks...then get one her flannel night gowns/ shirts and wrap me up in it to sleep.

Judy, how is your daughter, did she end up talking? My son is in that "stage" right now, he won't stay home...won't talk..and is mad at everyone. He hates Mike being here (as do we) but the kid has no place to go. Thankfully his job sends him to Albany come this Monday...hopefully for a couple weeks.

I am going to bed. DH is going back to work tomorrow...thinks he should take this week off also, but I assured him I would be fine. Shannon is home also so we can commiserate and watch chick flicks together.

I am heading to bed....sweet dreams.

Crissy you & Mary, and everyone.....feel better!

Hugs Shirley, you must be exhausted....hugs for Tubby too.
Bev, sending them your way also.

Debbie

Baton Rouge, LA

Awe Deb ! Once again ... my "Twin"... we have similar memories !

I mean...when we cleaned out Mom's house there must have been Vicks (in different stages of development... metal jar covers, plastic jar covers) in every drawer... and I can't find a ONE ! Hubs says he'll go buy me some... don't know why but I won't make him go. Think he feels guilty because he had this cold FIRST LOL....

Chick Flicks: Well.... we watched movies over the holidays... Toy Story 3: Loved it but very sad...have a pack of Kleenex on hand. Date Night: haven't found movies this funny in a while... and "Easy A" - was a 'teen' chick flick with more brain than most... I did enjoy it

so I would recommend those... we also saw on TV the last part of "Parenthood".... a movie from the 80's with star studded cast and I loved it....again.... made my little discombobulated family feel almost 'normal' LOL

HUGS Deb... agree with the commiserating and chick flick opportunity... great bonding time...

Can't figure out how to communicate as such with the teen boy... a 'free' lunch with Mom works sometimes with his fav food (Sushi)....

Hugs All

Mary

Glenview, IL

Mary, i somehow missed that you are sick...got to wrap my arms around you too, hope you feel better.

LOL, Debbie, just had a i'm younger than you laugh with my cuz! would have spit out my teeth in laughter, come to find out she IS younger then me!! LOL by 3 months...hahaha.

Anyway, well nope Breenie is NOT talking! But i have found out through the DEAN, the School Security officer and her brother and sister all this stems around the her Boyfriends Ex girl friend...Seems this girl is harassing Sabrina for stealing the boy away...Apparently wrote some crap about it on FB. Breenie got wind of it and nearly exploded, OMG, not too cool. She was much better when she came home.
Avoiding the conversation seems to be what teens do best. I was a basket case till late this afternoon. Debbie, you DS and my DD going through exact same thing...

Well, phooey on that girl, they broke up before Breenie even came into Ryans social circle...oh yuk on teen dating, driving me bonkers for sure.

OK, so Jacob was explaining this whole FB to Steve and we ended up searching for people from our past. LOL, While Steve didn't find anyone, he suggested I look up my BF from Grammer school and HS. In the past i sort of gave up finding her, I've tried with on line phone books and a few other sources...Any way typed in her name, 3 people with the same name showed up, so I got a little excited when I chose the one from Chicago. There was no picture, but she's a chef and knew sign language, so do I, lol we talked in SL on the bus all the time! so decided to send the woman an invite to be friends.
Told her my maiden-married Name and how we were BF in HS, we even worked at the same laundromat for years, told her the name of the place. OMG, we were even room mates for several months, Betty I showed you where that was coming from downtown.
Anyway, sent off the invite and within 15 minutes i got a reply saying Judy!! OMG! Can't believe this! LOLOL...We chatted for a few minutes, ended up swapping phone numbers and She will call me in the morning...I can't even begin to tell you how excited i am, oh yeah and get this, she Lives in Wisconsin, just 2.5 hours from our Cottage!!! hahah, needless to say We were both all choked up on the phone. We haven't seen each other in 30 years!

I am walking on clod nine right about now!! Too excited to sleep.

Baton Rouge, LA

WOW JUDE! That's exactly my 'take' on FB as well...

I was always "its NOT for me" "it's for the younger folks" then when I got hooked.... I 'found' SO MANY folks from my past... it was WONDERFUL !

So now I'm on there every night... and found so many folks from my past..... and playing SCRABBLE... go figure !

Hugs
Mary

Lexington Park, MD

Teens are sometimes hard to figure out. And kids can be so cruel sometimes talking trash about other kids when they are jealous.
Good day to all coffee is on.
Looking for my vicks for this cold.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Kids sure can be hurtful, so glad I'm beyond what you are all going through however, grandkids are starting, do grandparents get involved??? don't want to be one of those interfering grannies..lol

Snowing here but that's to be expected, already packed a new telephone book so I can transfer my numbers from a much messed up book, knitting needles/wool, camera and disk (got to learn the how too's) lol so quite an exciting first day back at work.

Can't find my cel phone charger, always where I charge but not there...not sure where to look, do need the cel for driving so best I put in a prayer to St. Anthony..

Mary went to everything in Epcot except those you mentioned, not a ride person and as we were going to stand in line for 1 hour a man and his children asked if I'd been on the ride and when I said no he explained it, glad we weren't in the front of the line up or it would have been wasted time..nope, don't like high speed rides...all else we enjoyed..of course love the 350 vision of Canada and China...got to be the best in my books..ok..the ride through Mexico almost on same level of oooh's and ahhh's...

What's nice girls in living in same area as growing up, you always meet someone in town who update you on everyone you went to school with..know I have a facebook account, might access it once every few months but that's about it..I'm sure it's loads of fun!!

Judy glad you made contact, no wonder you are on cloud 9...yes I remember you showing me.

Debbie, on the reader, I've got it on large print so it takes about 3 page flicks to get to next page but on some of them there are about 2 rows of reading from previous page, annoying, is yours like that? is there a way of correcting it? can't even find how to change the font again so it's also in my bag to play with at work...thank goodness for work, gives me loads of time to sit, rest and do things that need doing!

Laura did you accomplish much yesterday with kids being in school..lordy, fun putting everything out but not so much fun doing the clean-up..almost there..

Hoping all who are sick will be feeling better today..

Special hugs and prayers for those in need..Bev/Scotty, Tubby /Shirley/ Debbie/Maggie/Barb , Marion's mom.....

Coffee time and garbage day so best I get a move on...

Hope some of you will be around to chat today

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Judy you must be on cloud 9 finding your old friend, and to learn she is so close to you!
Betty, you need to get one of the chargers for your car, it plugs into the phone, then into the lighter, and will charge while you are driving! Never know when you will need it on the road!
Looks like it will be nice weather here today! It is already 55, and supposed to reach 70!

Lyndonville, NY

Judy, that is so great! That is exactly how I found my friend Sandy from 4th to 9th grade! And she was up here last Sept. for a visit. I have been able to hook up with a few of my Florida friends, which meant so much to me. And the funnything.....my boyfriend from 7th grade found me! haha We all talk now...so its fun. I am so excited for you and your friend.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Good Morning All!
I started this short novel last night 3 times no make that 4. I kept loosing it to cyber space. I finally said the heck with it. I think someone thought I was too windy, who me! I'll try this again. It's going to be a good day, sun shining.
Debbie - Vicks is a great product. I use it when haveing a bad cold. I always rubbed it on chest and back and then placed a warm towel on chest and back under pjs. You'll sleep like a log and feel a whole lot better in the AM. Those old home remedies are still some of the best, safest and inexpensive. Your pic. of foot makes mine ache. I hope you behave yourself so it heals without surgery. Hope your DD is feeling better today. I know Tubby always liked that Italian ice, I should see if I can find some for him. He might take one of those when he doesn't feel like eating. The chick flicks sounds like a good thing to do. Hope you both enjoy your time together and have a speedy recovery.
Judy - I'm sorry to hear about your DD's problems. I hope that you can get her to talk. Sometimes it's hard to get them to talk for fear they are going to get yelled at, and hard to hold ones tongue. Kids are cruel, I think they are worse now then when I was growing up. Will say a prayer for you both. Loved the Christmas pics. It's like meeting the family without ever meeting them. I got to know alot of my old customer's families that way. It was great. Glad you found your DF. Have a wonderful time getting reaqquaited.
Dianne - I'm so sorry if we forgot to wish you a Happy Birthday and Anniversary. The cake was beautiful and I could feel the calories on my hips just looking at it. Hope your day was special and wish you many, many more.
Barb - Hope your back is doing better today. Have you tried alternating heat and cold on it? The heat will relax the pain and the cold helps to reduce the inflamation. Hope Norm is doing okay. We think of you both often.
It was my DS that is having the heart problems. I talked to her last night. They will do another stress test today. She wasn't able to finish the one they tried to do yesterday. She sounded better. My oldest Sis went down to be with her, that helps ease my mind. I called DM and gave her the room # so she could talk to her. I know that will help ease her mind also. I hope that when she gets out she goes home and relaxes. She has a stressful job, she's a prosecuter for the state of MO and has a big territory to cover and she is also the one that had her house broken into over Christmas.
Yesterday was interesting to say the least. Tubby had a few bots of nausea before we left for dialysis. He did find going in and during and seemed pretty chipper when I went to pick him up. Getting into the vehicle was a feat in itself. His legs where jumping so and he wan't able to hold his weight when I stood him up. He started to slip between my legs. He held on with all he had and that's not much. We worked like the devil and finally made it. Good thing no one had a video. We laughed as to cry, but he had a sore arm and legs for awhile last night. He was to get chemo afterwards, but we stopped by the clinic and I went in and told them I wouldn't be able to get him in the vehicle a second time. We will go in this afternoon and get that. Thank goodness they are so understanding. I'm thankful the dear Lord gave me that extra umph when I needed it. It does worry me about what lies ahead, but one can't dwell on that. The laughter helps. I baked some turkey legs and made gravy and mashed pot. for him. He did eat a little, like a bird. Something is better than nothing. Hopefully it will get better.
I talked to my DD last night. The DGD was to have her injection yesterday for the terrible pain she has from all her female problems. They didn't do it. They have to wait 3-6 wks for it to clear the ins. company. She was mad. I don't blame her, and so now she has to wait longer. I have now idea what their reasoning was, as they knew she is having it done. It's another way of getting more money. The DD was calling the office to day and raise the devil.
Well, that's enough for my novel today. Hopefully I can get this one to go. We hope you all have a wonderful day and hugs and prayers to all. Everyone needs a hug daily. It's time for another cup of coffee. I'll make muffins or rolls if anyone wants to come.
Tubby & Shirley

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Shirley and Tubby! Those muffins sound really good!
Oh, please be careful getting him in and out of the car! It is so slippery out there! Maybe you can go inside, and ask for help the next time! I am sure someone will understand and go help you!
Insurance companies are getting to be such scam artist's themselves! Seems like we are paying more and more out of our own pockets, and they keep raising the rates!

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Linda - Tubby has a brother that lives in NM so that he doesn't have to put up with the cold up here. We always talked about moving where it was warmer, but couldn't seem to leave the kids. I know the one of the gals probably would have come out and helped, but I couldn'g leave him as he would have been on ground for sure. Someone upstairs was looking out for us. It would be great if the ins. companies couldn't get by with what they do. Someone is getting paid big bucks under the table as far as I'm concerned. They didn't ask me. There would be alot of changes if a person could really do something. I swear they have their you know what up their you know what. Oh well, it was good to hear from you. Chat later, I better get dressed and get something done around here. Have a good day!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Finally, took me almost till noon to get caught up, all is done and now I'm reading!!! Didn't think there was anything to get caught up on but e-mail and voice mail now changes everything.

Shirley, was saying that I sure wish the good Lord had picked Hawaii or southern states for me to be born, sure better than this snow.

I think you try and do far too much Shirley, surely as the others have mentioned, pull up to the door and have them come help as not to have Tubby fall or injure yourself..hard lifting dead weight. I don't have much faith in insurance companies...you pay/pay but try and collect on something, if you do your premiums go up triple..

Linda Kay our insurance company provider says they've lowered their rates, haven't really, can't count $20. as lowered and then go read policy, dropped 1/2 of what they used to service you..sure is a big time scam.

Shirley, sorry for the mix up, these short form initials sometimes confuse me and that doesn't take much...as for laughing instead of crying, been going that route lately, no sense in worrying what tomorrow will bring, enjoy today, tomorrow will look after itself..

Lexington Park, MD

Shirley get help lifting please. I lifted patients for years and now can hardly carry a bag of groceries. Get help when you can .
Betty I have been busy cleaning house and quilting in the quite of my home since kids are in school.
How much snow are you getting?

Glenview, IL

Good Morning

Thanks everyone...Bummer my friend hasn't called yet, so I sent her a message. lol telling her she was not dreaming.
Thought to maybe call her, but i don't want to wake her up, so I guess i'll patiently wait.

Oh Thank Goodness Shirley you were able to get Tubby into the car. I hope today goes better...
Sure can understand about not wanting to move. We will be faced with that situation in a couple of years.
I am glad your DS is feeling better today....LOL, I am such a dork, for some reason I thought you were talking about your daughter because i associated ds as dear son, lol but duh, I now re-learned it's also dear sister...

Debbie and Mary, yep that is pretty cool about the facebook finds. Who would have ever thought people could get so connected with one site! I have set up the facebook along time ago, kept forgetting password, lol and back then, I only joined because the kids sent me an inite to be their friend, Well it is also the place where i do chat occasionally with my old work buds. OMG speaking of which, I also found my good friend Holt, used to work with her then she moved to TX had a baby and got busy...Anyway, the second she got my note replied...
ROFLOL, I still like to blab on the phone tho!

Debbie, how is Shannon doing today? Are you two watching your chick flicks yet? OMG, have you ever seen the movie Switched, I laughed so hard on that one...

Thank you Laura and everyone about DD#2. Well, she didn't tell me much, but dad had a serious talk with her.
OMG, Shirley, your a mind reader...When i tried talking to her that was exactly what she said too! No matter what i say you guys are still going to be mad. I just hope this doesn't get crazy.

So Betty, did you get your new camera up and going? Bet your having fun taking photos. By the the way, Love your pics of you and Cathy.

Oh gosh, Thanks for the reminder...I have been under the assumption my insurance was done, The other day i received new insurance cards! hmmm, So i have to make a call and find out whats up with that, and if i am covered, who's paying the bill???

Where is Dianne? You hooo, I hope you are well.

Waiving hi Barb, hope your feeling better and Crissy too.
Lots of colds going around, hope you all are feeling better!

OK well I 've got to skip around and get decoration put away.
Have a great day, talk at a break.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Please say prayers for my Niece Ashley. She is the one that lost Lilly Marie last year! Well, her common law hubby and her have decided to run from the cops, as he is a registered sex offender. He went into a liquor store with all of his private parts exposed, and did not report to his probation officer! Now they are on the run, so he does not go back to jail! It is all a very ugly situation, and she is caught in the middle of all of it! Yes, drugs are involved, and they are not thinking straight, so please pray that she puts a stop to all this madness! If they are caught, she will be held as an accessory to it, and most likely go to jail also!
Thanks

Lexington Park, MD

Linda Kay prayers going out to you and Ashley.

Victoria Harbour, ON

She and your family have my prayers Lindakay..lordy, young girls certainly without trying can get into major trouble with hooking up with the wrong guys. Nothing going against her with the police right other than going on the run with him ? maybe she'll come to her senses and come home. Most likely after having loss Lilly Marie Ashley is going through a hell all of her own...more prayers coming her way.

Judy, no haven't played with my camera, brought in the cd but it shows me 3 icons to click and when I do they lead me somewhere completely with nothing about camera's so not sure what to do so best I do nothing..can take photo's though just can't crop/change color etc. maybe after lunch what I'll do is go on the camera site and see their info..been reading my e-book though. Was just talking to Jeff, said because his girlfriend got one, I got one for Christmas, he went out and bought himself one...he's such an avid reader, makes sense for him.

Am sure your girlfriend will call, is there a time difference?

Debbie, are you behaving today...how about you Bev, any beautiful photo's to share..sure hope my camera takes pictures as good as yours..oohhhh nope, it's not all the camera is it, has a lot to do with the picture taker.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Laura, glad you are doing what you love..did you eventually get all your pieces finished and on time for Christmas?

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Linda - I sure hope and pray that your niece see the light soon before something terrible happens. They sure get fooled by a fast talker. It usually take an outsider to help them see the light. Sometimes they have to hit rock bottom before their eyes are opened. Good luck.
Betty - I forgot to tell you how I enjoyed the pics of you and Cathy. The fruit looks so delicious. I've never had fresh squezzed oj. I can taste the fruit, my mouth says UMM UMM!
I have to go do chores quick, I didn't get that done yesterday and I know the birds will be hungry. I will check back in after we get back from town.

you sure are missing something tasty Shirley..you've now got my mouth watering..best I make orange juice when I get home with the oranges from Thunder!

Always chores and more chores..one of my goals this winter is to check all the corners and cubbies and clean them out, don't want to become my mom..lol scared me to death.

Verona, ON

Here I is, here I is!!! Lots of snow here today, how about you Betty?
Yep I am definitely yeast impaired.... DH and I have made 3 loaves of bread in the new humungous machine DH bought me. All 3 were excellent, so I thought maybe the curse had moved on. Oh No!!!! I tried to make a loaf of white bread all by myself this morning and guess what? You got it - it was a disaster. I have officially handed over the bread machine to my DH. I know when to bow out gracefully.
Have my blood test results from my blood draw before CHristmas but not my MRI.I feel like a huge weight is hanging over my head, I will call tomorrow to see if the MRI results are back to the Endo doc. Blood work was good except for my cortisol which has become an onging problem since my 2 surgeries and radiation. Knowing it does affect how you gain and keep weight especially around your middle helps me accept some pounds gained but I would have thought exercise which I have been doing faithfully would help too. Drat!
Judy I so enjoyed visiting with all your family. DH and I being 'childless orphans' as he calls us limits how many people you can have or go visit. I sure miss the huge family gathering my mam's side of the family enjoyed. Well, except for the darn Welsh men( mam's brothers) who would get into a scrap no matter what. As a child I thought celebrations of any kind meant 60+ people at the gathering. lolMy 1 nephew thought all Grandmas had turkeys thawing in their bathtub - boy was he surprised when he found out otherwise.
Hope you people with colds are feeling better today. How is Shannon feeling today Debbie?
What was the smell you thought was gas yesterday Betty?

Dianne

Lyndonville, NY

Dianne, we got that snow also. Was nasty this morning, blowing and drifting....but it has settled and is pretty out now.

Shannon is doing pretty well. She is having some mac & cheese, and taking her meds really well. Hates the mouth wash! haha I woke up from a nap to Shane coming in early. He has a study hall last period....and the nurse let him come home to "help mom". Little brat used me as an excuse to bail out. But thats OK, he is making a meatloaf for dinner tonight. He really is a good cook...DH will appreciate this big time, as do I.

I just realized also, that between Shannon & I, DH also has his eye surgery next week! Good heavens what a crew we are.

Betty one of the thing we do is if we do not use an item over a 12 month period we donate it.
That does not include tools or fabric.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh NO Laura, say it ain't so...lol...no can give my tools or fabric away, lordy girl you just got my heart beating double beats...wipe the sweat off my brow!!!

Dianne, snowed almost all day yesterday, this morning and just starting up again; so glad I got snow tires for Christmas. Thing with bread machine Dianne is you have to be so exact, don't give up, you'll get the hang of it..I gave up because of the weight I was putting on, nothing like getting up to the smell of bread baking. Maybe this weekend though I'll make a stew and a batch of bread providing Danie is not home, she almost had a fit when I said I made bread machine loafs...she comes from a french canadian family that cooks from morning till night so might get her to make loaves...not sure if she and her son will be at the house when I return home tonight?? hasn't e-mailed me..Darlene was telling me that her husband said he'd continue paying rent for the room she's using in hopes that she stays in the area vs. moving to Montreal..they all need counselling but she doesn't agree!

Ann will be coming over this evening for t.v. bingo, let's hope the caller has our numbers..would be nice to yell 'bingo'; Ann coming over will give me the opportunity of checking on how Mike did over the holidays, think he went for chemo today at Barrie hospital.

Dianne, let's hope your MRI shows good results, must be a worry for you both always wondering the outcome..you are indeed a brave woman..forget the family you don't have, you've got us, that's enough for any one person..sure want Debbie to come and visit this spring and we can take a ride to visit with you..you'll have to encourage her to get that passport!

Debbie, glad everything is under control at your house..you are so lucky to have so many cooks..enjoy din/din! How's the foot, still paining, you doing what doctor says????

Looking at the clock, time to pack up my crafts and head home..gab later

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

We are back from the clinic, Tubby was able to get his chemo. It takes longer to do the blood draw and get the Doc. to okay the dose and pharmacist to make it up then it does to give it. Tubby did really good today getting in and out. I know he is glad to be home, he has the hiccups now. They are lasting a long time today. He had them last night also. He had them like this once before when he was taking chemo. It's probably taking the same one that causes it. I feel for him.
I never was keen on those bread machines, I like to make mine in oven. If I made bread all the time I would be wider than the house. LOL
I had to run up to the floor I work on at the hospital and fax somethings off to two different insurance companies to try and get things straightened out on a bill from '09. What a pain.
I did the chores outside, except work on the new platform I'm gonna build for Tubby to stand on when I get him back into the SUV. I'll have it done by the time I pick him up tomorrow. If it stays nice this week, I may start on the platform at the end of the ramp to help raise it so not so steep. I;m goona clean up the kitchen now, and do some odds and ends.
Will check in with you all later. Take it easy everyone. Oh, Betty was it just the snow that was blocking the exhaust on the furnace? I hope it's all taken care of.
Shirley

Victoria Harbour, ON

No was a kink in the line but he found that since I build the back deck and closed it in I should have put an extra length of pipe from furnace to outside so Greg will do it, looked at paperwork, thought he had given me a few hours to fix but it says 45 days so Greg will come and repair.

OMG Shirley, isn't there someone around who could help you build those ramps, hate to see you out in the cold with hammer and saw in hand; know you are capable but still I think it's a bit much when you've already so much to do. Bet it makes your blood curl having to deal with insurance companies, imagine dealing with a 2009 bill..shaking my head here.

Glad everything went well for Tubby...didn't know hiccups are something that comes from the chemo..learn something every day..that's my learn for today!

Talk about snow, yikes could hardly see the road..you know the k ind of snow that comes right to you, almost blinds you and seems to be coming at slow motion..glad I'm home..already in nightie, got my e-book and going to find the chesterfield..likely I'll be sleeping in 5.. If Ann does come for t.v. bingo she'll have to shake me to wake me..lol..

Another thing I did learn while Jeff was visiting, told him I typed 3 lines before the computer could catch up..he said computers like to sleep as well, each time I pass it, hit a key or move the mouse..guess it makes sense.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Betty - those darn computers are great when they do just what we want and don't act up. After typing my novel 4 times and loosing all each time, I decided it must be me. That's hard to believe. I know I could probably call someone to help, but I'd rather do it myself as to explain to someone what I want and them keep asking why. It really won't take so long to build the platform for vehicle first. I dig out the wood for the bottom of ramp after I do some measuring first. I will have to put some rods in it that will go into ground to help keep it in place. I can picture it in my head. I'll draw a draft first, and then start after I have all the materials together. My Mom always said you can do anything if you set your mind to it.
We had to have the furnace guy out the other weekend, the darn wind out of the north will cause it not to run right if it's blowing 40 or above miles an hr. I asked it I could build a box over the top and leave bottom open to stop the terrible winds, but he said no. Darn! I thought it was a great idea, but I understand his reasoning. So when that happens I turn up thermostat and take the front cover off of furnace. It seems to help.
I ran into the Dr. that did Tubby's stem cell transplant in '04 today at the hospital. He left the Med Center shortly after that and haven't seen him since. I introduced myself and told him what he had done to Tubby and he remembered him after he asked if he was the one with all the birds. I really liked him. It was good to see him again, I wish Tubby could have seen him again, I know he would have enjoyed it.
Okay, I will close for now, chat tomorrow after we get home in afternoon. Take care everyone and hope all is well for everyone.
