Betty weather is high 50 and rain in Maryland. I do not see snow for us this weekend. Have a safe trip. Did you stop by any Cracker Barrels?

Well Mary, the only thing that's under warranty is the transmission, engine, and drive train. Everything else isn't covered, it's got 82,000 miles on it. I put it in the shop this morning and spent a ton of money, the serpentine belt was almost toast so I replaced that, fixed the sunroof, the transmission isn't setting off any codes or engine lights so they have no idea so I had them flush the fluid and there was metal shavings in it, and I bought a new battery for the remote that did no good, it didn't want to connect to the car when I left for work this evening. I guess I'm just going to get rid of it, that's the only solution I can think of, it's going to hundred dollar me to death.

I know you are not close to me here in Louisiana.....BUT you are very close to where my family is from.... and where I have visited very often... so I feel like you are "near me" or at least at my home while I'm not there.... Give Disney a wave as you pass by ! Give Gainesville a wave... that is where my Dad is now... at his 'first' home in Interlachen where my Mom and Dad grew up and were High School Sweethearts...

We are 'recovering' from some cold weather but as usual can't complain as it should be around 72 tomorrow...

One more day of work then 3 day Weekend for New Years. Worried for the first time realizing it's supposed to be Rainy and Yucky on New Years Eve and we Now have an 18, 18 and 17 year old.... Hmmmmmm.....

Good Morning to All -
Well, it's 49 degrees outside, that's a bit unusal for this time of the year. It's suppose to change to rain tonight and wintery mix tomorrow. I dread taking Tubby out in it tomorrow. Oh well, will keep the ramp covered. That has helped alot. He is still sleeping, I've been up for over an hour. I'll do the chores today while it is nice.
Tubby has been handling dialysis fairly good. They want to put a fistula in the arm soon and remove the one in his chest. Once they do that it will take 8 weeks before it is ready to use. I'll tell him about it later.
There is always something going on.
I'm glad to hear that Christmas was good on the most part for everyone. We had a nice time with everyone that was here. I'm glad it is over and the New Year will quiet around here.
Debbie, so sorry to hear about your foot. Wish we were closer to help, but am glad DH is there for you.
Will be thinking of you and praying for a speedy recovery.
Betty, you are one busy lady. Please drive careful and have a safe trip. Let us know when you get home. We'll be saying prayers and thinking of you daily.

Darn computer wants to act up. I think it needs to be cleaned, will do it later. The keys want to stick or not respond right, that's why there is a double space. Oh well, could be worse.

Debbie, so sorry about your foot....hope you're feeling some better by this time.

Tomorrow we're expecting clouds and 56 degrees! Do you believe that? Unheard of....but I'll take it! Saturday is expected to reach 54. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday all in the 30's but clear.

Thank you everyone....I am doing Ok. My pain level is about a 5 out of 10...and am handling with ice and motrin. She said if I needed something stronger...to call.

Today the Orthopaedic said it is broken on the long bone, where I thought....but the pain issue is mostly frayed ligaments. The one that hold bone in place was stressed a bit, and has some torn area...but nothing that can be surgically fixed (thankfully right now).

I have a lovely new boot, that looks like a ski boot with huge velcro straps that holds everything in place. This can come off....and I can shower! A big plus over the cast option. I go back on Jan. 20th for reevaluation and new xrays.

Betty...it is supposed to hit close to 50 up here in NY by the weekend, so should be smooth sailing once you get up here.

HOWEVER, they are talking a 4 to 5 hour wait at the border in Niagara Falls because of that Hockey Tourney going on.

Dianne - You are up early. The coffee is on, it would be could to share with someone so come on down LOL. I'd have to make fresh several times before you could get here. It's 11F outside and sleeting. I won't be taking Tubby in for dialysis today at that rate, I'll call as soon as I can. Work called last night and asked if I could come in, but said no.
I have a stink'n mouse in my kitchen, I can hear him, but haven't located him yet. I think he is stuck in a sticky trap, so will have to move the fridge and stove. I hate them things, but it's the down side to living in the country. If I don't find him the cat will. Bandit is good for no front claws.
We will stay home also, we never did go out and celebrate New Years Eve, even in our younger days. I always figured there were enough drunks out there for the cops, without me. Some hotels here offer supper and drinks and a place to stay for one set price. There are alot of people who take advantage of that. It's a good deal if you want to drink and not drive. I know the casinos in Iowa get a big crowd.

Betty stopped at my house too :( but I was not there :( as I am in NC with my son :)....she got to meet my baby though, and get some fruit from my yard...................Betty so sorry I missed you..hope the fruit is good, and not all freeze damaged.
We are just spending time with family for the next few days, sucking up as much of my son as he will allow (only so many hugs you can get out of adult son/soldier) but he is being very patient / indulging with me. much more than usual...the darlin grand daughter is learning new words every day!! she is so darn smart!!!

it will be a quiet night with my son and his family, fresh squeezed orange and tangerine juices, with a little tequila.....

I will be spending time this night wishing for a SAFE New Year for ALL OUR TROOPS, and I ask please that each of you spend a few moments doing the same.

Happy New Years Eve !!!

DH and I would have been out "Back in the Day"....but the last few years...letting the kiddo's party at the house.

Now of course we aren't 'cool' anymore (not that they ever thought we were LOL).... so all 3 have split to their respective 17-19 yr old parties.

So we went to dinner now home like ya'll. I suppose we'll have our share of worrying to do before the nights end.

I do think one of my New Years reservations will be to go out next year....maybe to one of those places Shirley mentioned... Bed and Breakfast type....

I would like to do something special. However we have rainy weather tonight and not a good night to be out. Should have chained the YA's (Young Adults) to the house... but how the heck do you do that?

Stacey - Johnathan is a doll. I'd have a hard time laying him down and not wanting to hold him all the time. You'll enjoy the days ahead. It truly is a miracle when a person stops and thinks about how they first got their start and how the body knows just what to do. It never ceases to amaze me.
Maggie - Tracking Betty like Santa is too funny. She's done good, for not having to slide down any chimneys and no cookies and milk to have.LOL
Mary - It's always better to have your children at home and you know where they are. I always said it's a complement when they want to come to your house. The DGD's in Wis. always have a house full. The kids sleep all over, but DD makes sure no one drives and the parents know they are spending the night and will be home in the AM. They play games and just chat.
We didn't much snow yesterday, but got plenty of sleet and rain. No moisture expected this whole next week. I hope they are right.
Well, coffee is on and so anyone is welcomed. I'll make fresh muffins if someone comes otherwise I'll save myself the calories. I better get back to watching it for the new year.

My number one resolution this year is to do more here at the house and NOT spend so much time here on the computer. I will be lurking but not posting as often. I have found that I'm spending more than half my morning here on line and that won't do. So if it seems like i'm very quiet don't be alarmed. I'm just trying to cut back a bit.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!

Debbie that's the same bone my mom broke, but on her right foot! She cracked it lengthwise from the joint that connects to her toe all the way to her ankle, or wherever it connects. It's been 8 weeks and it's still not completely healed, but she's recently been diagnosed borderline Osteoporosis, so that might have something to do with her slow bone healing process.

OOHHHH I'm so glad you got to meet Betty too! She is one of the nicest people I have ever met.

We went out last night, you just can't worry about it I guess. Since I've been with Dave, 7 years now, we've gone out every New Years Eve. We always go where everyone knows our name and always have a great time.

I am taking calcium supplements and vitamin D...lovely. Had to quit the motrin as my stomach is burning so badly.

So glad you all had a nice New Years. I was in bed at 10:00...but woke up shortly after midnight waiting for Shane to get home from work....which wasn't until 3:30!! Just can't sleep til they are all home safe.

Paul and I are going to attempt taking the tree down. Oh fun!

I saw the "ball drop" for the first time in ages!!! used to always have to work the next morn. at 6 am to help reduce prices for sales....now working 2-11 pm have gotten used to being up all night....supposed to have schedule change some time in Jan to go back to more daytime hours??? I will believe it when I get the schedule!!! sure would be nice tho...

I don't usually make resolutions, but I do intend to get some of my "phd's" finished....and use up some stash!!! I have some great directions / designs for lovely little girl outfits!!!! sew I will be re-learning to make clothes!!! have not done much of that in the last few years.
