Best/Worse/what did I learn today? Visit with friends!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just have a sick feeling in the bottom of my tummy, oh Maggie how frightened you must all be, hard decision for you to make but am sure it's the right one. Must be someone around that you trust with the children, when ill like you are you just want your loved ones around, DH just has to get to the hospital to be with you tomorrow morning..

The Lord can't but hear our prayers as we gather tonight to say them..hope somehow you'll be able to let us know how you are doing..

Hugs coming along with the prayers!

It's times like this that we wish we all lived closer, might not be able to do much but could take over the care of the children...

Verona, ON

Where's the cry baby post Maggine - seems I missed it. Of course you are frightened and feel very alone. We are all here to support you and send you love, hugs and positive thoughts. You can DO this sweet lady - remember when all is over you get to go home to a loving family.
Hugs and smiles across the miles

see, Maggie?!?! We all love you and No one, but No One, thinks your being frightened is being a "cry baby"!!! Vent away, any time you like!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Know I'm crying, yikes, finished Greg's rag quilt, was a big one, now I know better than to try and wash it in a regular washer but did, washer is now broken and repairman can't come until Tuesday - Dec.7 between 8am and 8 pm..drats and more drats..

Darlene called me to say Dannie went to Montreal - 8 hr. drive, Darlene told her I had a room for her and some mothering but she said that with Rose here she didn't think it was fair but would definately give me a call in a few days!

Off to bed I go, tired tonight!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

((((((((((Betty)))))))))))) poor you, with your broken washing machine!!

Dannie's in Montreal?!?! sheeesh - guess she didn't realize you Really Meant It when you said she could stay there...... Y'know, I have problems with people realizing I mean it when I say I will do something, too...... frustrating.....
Don't blame you for being tired - you've had a long day - goodnight Angel Betty

Baton Rouge, LA

OH Goodness....

Maggie - HUGE hugs for you.... Please "talk" to us when you can... I think it will be good for you to 'vent' and perhaps leave you with strength.... I am praying for you... and you DH and kids.... Kiddo's will want Mommy to be strong... so perhaps a blessing in disguise that they will be cared for while you are getting better ...

Then when you are strong they will see that all is well...... Wish I could drive up and babysit....but I know someone will come through for you guys...

Hugs Betty and Dannie..... Maybe a good long drive was cleansing for her...

Betty - I must admit... I was a bit worried about you thinking this was the friend with the potentially angry DH....

Judy got a Jump on us for Pay it Forward....The "official" date is tomorrow... Wednesday 12/1...however I agree with ...hm... was that Susan? Laura? that it should be every day....Great ideas Judy ! I remember the days... picking up girls from cheer.. "Can you take this friend home too?" LOL

Yes - I LOVED the movie... it's listed as my favorite on FB...

Joyce... "fingers crossed and prayers said".... I feel really good about you getting a job soon....what does that mean? I don't know.... but we got Susan working.... it's your turn :)

Crissy - beautiful colors...

Well... LK ... I guess we're getting our turn now for cold weather... 30 low tonight... first time. I covered up my hibiscus so "ya'll" won't have to hear me whine about my dead ones next year... boy did I whine last year.

Tonight is this "Beginning Gardener"'s FIRST time covering plants up for winter. Had TONS of blooms too ! Poor hibbies are SO confused....

Hugs all,, I'll try to pop back...

Mary

Morning everyone! And welcome back Sylvia!

So glad to hear that Keith will be with her today, during her surgery! I know it is hard for her to let the neighbors watch the kids, but in times like these, it nice for the neighbors to step up and help!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I just lost my post and now I'm running late. Just want to add my prayers for Maggie and Joyce's mom as well. BBL

Lyndonville, NY

First and most important, Prayers for our Maggie and her family.

Second. It is snowing....thanks Dianne & Betty for blowing it across the lake. lol

and Third...I reached for the coffee canister, it fell...3 lbs of maxwell house all over me, the dog and the kitchen. (its small stuff in life)

So, hows your day going?

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Better than yours Debbie, well not quite..

Answered a call and the 3 lines were going, put her on hold, came back, she had hung up..went to my other calls, she calls again and gives me the what for..apparently I should not answer the telephone when another call comes in, I should pay attention to the caller and not the other calls, I'm all for that but it seems my 2 nieces who hear the telephone can't answer, my job, not theirs so I sent the comlaint on to Paul..maybe he'll tell them if the phone rings, ANSWER it..

As for my washer, how stupid could I be, I knew better, Greg's rag quilt is 130 - 8" blocks, much too heavy to put in regular washer, I actually remember thinking I should go to laundromat to wash and dry..but no, not me, too anxious to wash it 2 or 3 times to get fibers out and dry..so now I'm without washer, Sears not coming until next Tuesday..drats and more drats..

On my way to work this morning I stopped at the local laundromat to check hours and cost..big washer $6.00 and dryer $2.50 sooo 2 washes and 4 drying will be $22.00...lot cheaper than having repairman come in and fix don't you think..shaking my head here.

Debbie, have a few snowflakes here as well, not much, more rain than anything else..it's 37 so bound to get warmer. You feeling any better today other than your mishap..most likely your hands were swollen and makes it hard to grab items right?

What kind of work Judy are you doing? know you said 'paper' but is it writting, folding ?? will keep you out of mischief and a plus IF you get paid.

Barb, nothing worse than taking time out of a busy schedule to say 'hi' to all and it go into cyberspace..you sewing and quilting today..all are getting down to the wire. This morning I had odds/sods from my flannel rag quilt cuttings and because Melanie said how she'd love one decided to sew pieces together so they could be 'backings' hardly will be noticed, did that for about 2 hrs. so am hoping by the time I do Julie's there will be enough blocks to do Melanie one..why I don't know, she's enough pressies under my tree that I sure don't need to do another but always want to please, nothing like getting what you want for Christmas..hope my little elves remember this when Santa asks for me and brings me one of the 3 items I asked for..lol

oops be back in a sec..by now Maggie should be in operating room, prayers please.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Must be the time of year, everyone is in a hurry, client just came in complaining not enough parking had to walk about 3 minutes from his car..lol..too funny..does anyone not know the meaning of 'patience' lol

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

OMG Maggie, wishing nothing but the best to come out of this surgery and it's not as painful as they say it will be. I think you made the right choice too. Many many thoughts and prayers and I know you'll let us know how it went as soon as you can.

Sylvia! So glad you found us again!

LOL Mary, I've never covered any plants, they either live or they don't.

Betty NOOOO about the washer! DANG a week without one.

LOL Debbie I hate it when that happens. How's your pup doing?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty patience went out the window when the internet came to be. LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

I think it's terrible, common courtesy to all would go a long way..I do not like inconsiderate people, nope, don't..I just take them off my list..lol..

Lyndonville, NY

Crissy, right now Izzy is doing "ok". She is thrilled there is snow...much more so than I am. But she is still hobbling quite a bit with her back leg, and now having dental issues. Seems like its no win! She is going to be "5 years old" on Saturday.

Thumbnail by DebbiesDaisy
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Betty, that went out the window too, apparently.

Poo on the dental issues, Milk Bone! LOL or so they say... Glad she's just hobbling along but she looks healthy, as long as she's eating and drinking and stays alert I guess that's all that matters.

Tiga's hind legs came back yesterday sometime, when I got home from work she was running laps and dancing and doing all these leaps, Dave asked me what happened to make her go down and what just happened to make her spring back up, I have no idea, thought that's why we took her to the vet last Tuesday???? I'm guessing arthritis. She wanted to play last night and I can tell she hasn't been using her cat scratcher because her claws are SHARP! She started using it last night and this morning she was all over it, so hopefully that will rectify itself real soon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Guess Tiga is like the rest of us, sometimes down with something for a week or so, lol at the sharp claws, does that mean you have scratches?

Izzy Debbie is a beautiful dog, look at that snow, yikes, if Dianne and I sent it, please know you can keep it..

Meant to add:

Darlene just called and wanted to know if I wanted to go 1/2 on the kiln, she'd like one as well and no sense she and I both buying one, we are great at sharing so put a call in to Gayle who has the glass studio closer to our home to see how much for one, if it's cheaper we'll get it there if she has one, if not, I'll pick one up in Barrie before the end of the week..santa is allowed to come early right?

I always have scratches every time we play, but her claws are never that sharp. I had to quit playing because of it and that's odd.

Santa is always welcome, he can come in July if he wants to! LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

and he DOES..lol
always nice to make your own 'christmas list' and be responsible for picking up what is on that list..one of the benefits (although few) of being on your own..

Yikes, Suzanne mentioned this morning that if I wanted to go to Florida maybe late Boxing Day that if their plans to fly to the islands doesn't pan out then they just might come with me, divide the driving 3 ways sooo might do the closing of the Clearwater trailer after all, providing of course when I mention it mom doesn't say she'd like to go..

Verona, ON

Holding Maggie and her family close to my heart. Hope we hear soon how the surgery went.
~~~~~~ to everyone
(((((Maggie))))))) so wonderful that neighbours are helping, and your DH is able to be there with you!! You're in my thoughts and prayers....
Ok, believe it, or not...... I'm doing a mass of things today - tying my mom's quilt, filling out forms for my new job (and reading documents), calling Police Dept so I can get my Criminal Check for my new job, filling out income tax forms for 2009 (yes, last year's T4's, etc...... I's BAD! however, I will blame it on stress, etc, k?)...... and of course I have to help DH file his "dissolution of corporation" forms because even though he sent a letter and check marked it on his Income Tax, he didn't realize he also had to send in Forms!! siiiiiiiiiiiigh
Yes, today is FORM day...... and quilt day LOL
Paul just called, he's at our Peterborough office and there is a blizzard going on, hydro out so had me call a few late appts. to cancel as they have also closed the major highway..just stay in Debbie, see, Lord works in mysterious ways, bet you were thinking that you would go do something today rather than rest, and here you are 'housebound'
Susan, just think how great you'll feel getting all of that done and behind you..you said "I's bad" well hope not bad enought for the criminal check not to be good..lol
Suzanne just left sicker than a dog, sure hope she hasn't passed on any of her germ to me..I know whey she's ill, she never stops, always on the go, weekends are busier than old heck and she's run down!!!!
Lyndonville, NY
Oh Betty, Paul should have said "And you all head home!"
We just have a bit here, maybe 3 inches...nothing really.
Shane has his Christmas concert tonight, and DH invited the outlaws...grrr! I will try and record it.
Victoria Harbour, ON
Will be nice to hear it Debbie, yep you've managed to send snow my way, snowing and blowing..
Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)
LOL - the Criminal Check should be FINE LOL
