I am going to see how to make those cards Betty.
"Siloam Sunday Music"
Best/Worse/what did I learn today? Visit with friends!!!
Betty, I am just so upset today. It is craft show weekend up here, the Yuletide show. Also the show in Rochester. I bought presale tickets for the two older girls and I, and they bailed on me. Has to do with the run-in with the "child" this week, but I tell you.....I am just done with all three of them. They are not high-school kids anymore, grown adults 25 & 27...and this drama really needs to end.
Silvia, I am with Betty...I wouldn't tell anyone my intentions of spreading ashes. You're not doing a "huge" amount of ashes and it is not hurting anything at all.
Bev, I am so happy to see you post. It is so sad about Blue, but I understand the poor baby was in pain. You did the right thing, and dang, that hurts big time loosing your best friend. Love those pictures!
Waving to everyone....I am "painting" my Christmas projects finally Betty. Way behind...but working on it.
Debbie
Good Morning!
Oh no! bummer about Anns toes, sure hope they aren't broken.
Bev, So glad to see you post! Sending you big Arm wraps, so very sorry to hear about Blue.
Are you getting Snow??
I think Debbie's backfire blew all the way over here! We got about 3-4 inches during the we hours of morning.
But, i do have to say it's So beautiful!! LOL, I am nuts, but just love the first snow fall.
Ohhh so glad you will look into making your photo's into cards!! Love the Siloams Sunday Music, its just Stunning!
Betty, I am going to make a Victorian sleigh, ornament size today! We have been invited to a Christmas gathering tonight.
So I want to give them a small token for their tree. We haven't seen this friend in about 8 years! Since then he has married so we will be meeting his wife for first time. Oh, hahah I got Podge!!! Wish i had some of that pink stuff.
Mary, how are you doing sweetie?? i hope your having a Good weekend so far.
Oops, got to run for a minute.
Enjoy the day!
brrrr, can tell the temp is dropping quickly, cold downstairs, time to put the fireplace on! Quite a morning, got 1/2 the 1st rag quilt put together and my girlfriend Dianne called, wanted to know if I'd help her put the 2 twin size quilts together (spray adhesive) so she can get them quilted..brought some treats over and I ate a few too many..then June came in with a few of her projects to show me..had lunch and now I'm ready to get back to finishing the 2nd half of the rag quilt..
Sorry to hear that you were unable to go to Yuletide Debbie, next year we'll plan it, just you and I AND you are right those girls are adults not babes in arms, don't you be giving in this time!!!!
Stormy there? Snowed this morning but just ever so lightly..a fine skim, don't think I have to go out and shovel.
Judy, do you have snow left in the little plastic pod I sent you for the snowman, you could use some of that..the other is purchased at Home Depot..called 'dap' and I think you can purchase in in small platic pod. Your friends will love your sleigh I'm sure.
Bev, think if you bought when on the sale cardstock and envelopes at Michaels, think they come 50 in a package for about $14.98 you could make some lovely cards...I'll be your first customer.
Sailor's barking someone is here best I go see...
Oh is that quilt Beautiful!!
Thanks for idea of that snow stuff...think it will work out great!
Well, actually applied a snow man couple to the sleigh. I put the copies of V Santa somewhere.
LOL, I'd have to tear the craft area apart to find and just not in the mood for that. I had a copy of a blue one from Liz, but i dunno, not a great copy...The snow couple is really cute! Just applied the top coat of Podge!! And next time i am at Home depot, i will look for Dap.
LOLol Betty, went to the Sleigh workshop for a reminder! OH my gosh what a fun time we all had!!
We certainly did Judy, I'm sure it will be cherished..can't believe how cold it is in here, going to turn up furnace, who knows things come in 3 so maybe furnace is gone..yikes, that would not be good!!!
My brother Mike and his wife Kim dropped in .. never stay long because Mike is so allergic to kitties, they were on their way visiting more family but we did have nice visit..will have to post photo of their doggies, my big picture windows are low to the floor and they just so loved standin and being able to see the squirrels, don't think they wanted to leave but Sailor and the furries wanted them gone..lol
Debbie, got a call from my mom today, nope 3 calls from my mom!!! She contacted a place in Buffalo that does MRI's..here she'd have to wait 3 months but there if she pays close to $1,000-$1,500 she can get it done in a few days AND it's an open MRI which she says she needs, gabbed and told her that was the thing to do, 3 months is a long time to wait when you are in pain, so she says, yes, but YOU will have to take me..ok...I'm game..said make it for Friday or Saturday of this week, she said she didn't get her passport renewal yet so would have to wait for that..Debbie, guess I'm crossing over to your side of the border yet one more time before Christmas...
Then Dianne said if I wanted to go south late Boxing Day or day after she'd be game to come with me, so, I'll mention this to mom, telling her that Dianne and I will make the quick trip to Clearwater to bring her treasures home, not so sure she won't say, I'll fly!!!! then nope, wouldn't go..
Back to work on my rag quilt, just get going and visitors come, but I love visiting, far more than sewing..lol...so I'll enjoy..one never knows who will come knocking.
Betty, who did she make it with...Windsong? Buffalo MRI? Those are the placees I took my Mom, and they are just amazing. AND...they can give you your test results/pictures on a CD disk sent to your doctor.
Not sure of the name Debbie, will ask her, and yes they told her they could put her results to a cd and also fax Dr. copy of results..
Mom will telephone her Dr' to have him send referral, if he agrees and her passport comes in then it will be this week or next..
Betty did your mom have hip replaced? Is that the pain she is having.
Was hoping to finish painting today but kids had soccer(indoor) and ran out of time.
Kids come first Laura..painting can wait.
Pushed myself tonight ..had a goal this morning and even with all the company I've finished it...Julie's rag quilt done
Not sure how I get back part of my picture editing now that she's wiped everything off..colors look drab, oh well, not time to play with computer tonight...
Thank you ALL for your hugs and Prayers !
Thank you Judy for checking on me ! It's just been a tough week.....And a week of learning.
Here's for all of you... but ... "Especially Bev" !!! :)
A Dog's Purpose (from a 6-year old).
Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolf hound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.
I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.
As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.
The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what wa s going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.
The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, 'I know why.' Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.
He said, 'People are born so that they can learn how to live a good Life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?' The Six-year-old continued, 'Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.'
Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.
Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy..
Take naps.
Stretch before rising.
Run, romp, and play daily.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.
ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY
How precious is that Mary..sending armwraps, those weeks sure do take a toll.
It's one of those night, no can sleep so up I am, trying to find something that doesn't take a lot of energy hoping that in an hour I might feel like sleeping again..
Maybe I'll take all those lap afghans and shoulder warmers out and parcel that way when the time comes they'll be ready for the seniors home..
In the meantime, hope you are all sleeping/dreaming and cozied up in bed...
