I've learned not to count my blessings to early. Becareful mekos, it may be sneaking up on us.
New Bees 11/23/10 friends - new and old...Come on in...
loca we need a new thread thanks nettie
They said our weather was suppose to warm up a bit after this week. So I doubt if we will get snow this year. Almanac says it suppose to be warmer than normal this year and our weather reporters said a few nights ago that for the most part it will be warmer so after this cold spell passes so does our chances for snow. It will still be cold but it says we will have a dryer winter than normal too. I'm disappointed. I think we got an acumulation of 3-4 inches last year 1 time and it left as fast as it arrived. Couldn't even make a snowman. Got 2-3 inches the year before maybe twice that year. BUT we use to when I was younger. I remember 18 inches one year and 6-8 inches about 10 years before that and lots of snow before that. It just gets less every year since. I need a winter home in another state so I can go see snow. DH likes the idea of going to Alaska.
wish it would warm up just a little still have a few bulbs need to put out if the wind would lay it would be better. love and hugs nettie.
Not to fear Charley, got to win the lottery first. It takes money to go to Alaska. That is something I don't have. Gonna bring you a puppy and apples late January though so hang on little buddy!
He's a hangin. He is a good boy. Discovered he likes peppermints.
He is amazing.

Great Nettie, you will enjoy it I know. Those are cute little plants. I got bunches of little sprouts growing right now. I just love em. I'm working on rooting a leaf of the Ping. Then gonna work on rooting a leaf off the red VFT.Just doing one at a time to I get the hang of it.
rrm we have large simon tree on the hill behind the house molly horse eats them up pretty fast between her and the coon it would be a fight to get any of themhave all kinds of things growing up there wild animals eat most of the things up there i never try to save anything every thing needs to eat. love nettie
mekos thought i might save some money on carnevous plants they can be very pricy hope you know what i mean. love nettie
OH Yea, When it warms up so I can ship without freezing them, I'll send you some to start out with and seeds too for the VFT. I have my drosera plants inside in an aquarium but the pitcher plants are out in the bog garden. They still blooming with frozen water in there and all.
Drosera sundews are tropical so those need to keep warmer.
I'll help you Nettie, remind me in the summer.
rrm, how do you keep the fly tags on the halter? My horses kept losing them. I had them tied on with bread ties. My have to use wire ties next summer.
Nettie, I can get you a cp. Let me know when weather is right. I see the VFT are still green out there in my bog, after that last couple of days freeze. I hope we see no more of those freezes.
Deer eat the persimmons too. One year we looked out back door and there was twin fawns eating, so cute.
Crit have you tried using those little black plastic pull ties? I know how they get them off, they love to roll in the dirt cause my long ears do it all the time. Their halters are so dirty. But It beats letting them getting out with no halters and ropes hanging everywhere.I used to let them run around without halters but after they got out once or twice. I leave them on.
I haven't tried yet, but that is what I meant by wire ties. I take the halters off in the winter, but usually leave them on during the summer so I can put the tags on them. I got rid of my tag gun when I sold my cattle, so can't put them on right.
In the summer, you will see Fabric softener sheets tied to their halter to keepbugs away. sometimes both sides. It does help.
Fabric softerner sheets?? New one on me!
I've been doing it for a while. I cut them in half and tie one in a knot on each side of the halter. Helps keeps bugs off. they stand so still when I'm doing it.
hay mekos im gona hold you tothat offer at this point i can use all the help i can get went to parkers christmas program brought him home with me and had to watch animal planet all afternoon his mother ask how much candy he had and i said none he was very thursty maybe too much mountain dew. as fast as he could swollow it without getting choked. my bad sugar is sugar what can i say sory i did good i usually let him have candy too. now you know who not to leave your kids with love and hugs nettie.
