Cold cold night for the desert... Freeze Warning - probably our first and only for the season... Came about the same time last year and it's weird this early...

http://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=AZZ023&wa...

Covered the Jalapeno and Chiltepins as they are full of little peppers... harvested all the bigger peppers and eggplant and will hope for the best. Brugs and sweet potato vines and coleus on the back (south) patio. I am so not into high maintenance plants - lol. Will likely lose my tomatoes but they are on their own... It's been windy and cold all day and is only about 42° right now. I'm going to bed to snuggle with the blankies and my Yankee since he is wearing his fur coat. I'll check in in the am if my fingers aren't too cold to type - lol... I'm such a wuss - grew up where it gets 40 below and I'm cold;o)

Any names for the new puppies yet, Jan? They're cuter than cute. Great photos, too. Thank you for sharing with us.

Oh, AL, they all have names. They are the cutest little things.

LOL, yes Nettie, you bundle up and keep warm. Don't want you freezing out there. Suppose to be in the 20's here tomorrow night.
My cousin who is also best friend and praying partner, her son,(18 years old) had a bad wreck last night totaling her car in that storm we were having. He is ok thank God. He hit a tree and lodged it between two other pine trees and it is a miracle he got out of the mangled mess at all but only got a knot on his elbo. We had some bad storms last night and this morning. Seems to be passing on now.
Loca, hope all the vegies make it through the cold for you.
Al, lots of the garden friends named the puppies for fun and they got some strange names...
Lefty, Kaluah, Chiquita, Taco, chico. Of course the final owners will choose the final names for them. Since we are keeping the two light colored ones we are naming those Sugar and Spice. The blonde one is Sugar and the other is cinnamon colored with chocolate markings and named Spice.
Charleen(RRM) is gonna take the only boy and she has named him Kaluah. He looks JUST like his daddy, Gizmo.
You guys have a wonderful day. Back later.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Hey there,
I'm Ben from south Louisiana. Just joined DG about a week ago and am fully addicted already!
Charley sent me here as a possible source for daylily seeds. I'm trying to get my hands on whatever I can. I'm not picky about color or variety. I really just want the experience of growing them from seed. Sure appreciate it.

Deepseas72 send me your address info via d-mail and I'll see what I have available. I have LOTS of colors.

Booneville, AR

looks bossy and nosey to me and sweet. love nrttie rrm this was for you.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Kaluah almost got his eyes open!!!!! Yeeeeeehawwwwww! My baby getting his eyes open.
They are so cute. Go Sugar or is it Cinnamon??

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

What precious little babies. Gettin' their eyes open, NOW they are going to get FUN! Can't believe it has already been 2 weeks!

After their eyes open and start playing, time is tooooooooooooo short before they have to go to their new momma/daddy. :-(

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

mekos - the Asiatic Jasmine you sent me last year is planted in a planter outside. The leaves are turning colors - like fall;o) It's pretty. Hopefully I'll get to see it bloom in the spring!

Anyone have a clue what this might be? It was growing in a bed when I cut back the AZ Poinsetta today. At first I thought it might be Altimisso climbing rose but now I don't think so...

My project for the day, besides cutting back the cannas and fried MG vines was to place some of the flagstone I got as a border on a front bed... Don't mind the weeds in the front - lol... There is also tons of wild Oxalis that grows there, but I leave it as the yellow flowers are cute and it makes a nice groundcover in the summer to hold in moisture. If it gets to aggressive I yank it out;o)

Oh yeah - my Stormy thinks she has a boyfriend. She's in heat and staying with my SIL and Yankee's sister. Dogs are coming to the door and barking and she cries for them;o) When SILs girl is in heat, the neighbor's chihuahua comes over and sits in the flower bed outside the front door and cries...
