Hope ya get the sleep in until 7 am Betty - not I though!
Holding closely to my heart today Betty as I know this is a day of memories for you.
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thank you Dianne, going to keep myself busy today! Ridiculous of me to think I can sleep in that late..lol..

Think I had a great idea about putting all the greenery under cover because everything is covered in the white fluffy stuff..looks pretty outside.

Was just thinking usually Andrew comes to see if I want to contract snow removal and I haven't seen him yet, last 2 years he's fought cancer and said all was well, his not coming on Thanksgiving, his usual drop in makes me wonder!

Driveway needs it so if he doesn't come I'll get the snowblower out and that will keep me busy.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Boy it the time listed ever wrong..it's 6:45 ..have to check again how I change it

Victoria Harbour, ON

Let me see what time it shows

Victoria Harbour, ON

got it..not sure but think it changed my other 2 posts..oh well, better get a life, lol, if that's all I have to do to keep me busy..

Hope you are all rested after your Thanksgiving, now it's forward and onward to Christmas

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Betty! Sure hope your snow guy is ok?
I'll make dome hot chocolate just in case you have to go out in the cold!
Take care and stay warm please?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks Linda Kay, sending prayers for your sister as well, think of me while I'm out shovelling, heading there now..at least I'll get the walkways done before Ann arrives to do the arrangements...brrrr it's cold, sure do appreciate the hot chocolate...

Think of me while you are in the sunshine..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning Betty and Linda. Can I opt in for some hot chocolate too please? We don't have the snow yet but it is terribly windy and cold. Temp is now at 29. I sure do hope your plowman is okay Betty.
With Norm working at the hardware store in town, he sees all kinds of people and our plowman was in there the other day. He said we were all set-signed up for another year. We do have the snowblower buty Norm really isn;t supposed to do that. He just uses it for the paths for the electric meter and the oil delivery men. And a path all around the house in case of fire. Living out here in a small town, I've become very fire concious. My dad was a firefighter and he taught us well. He always said to leave enough snow close to the house to jump into if necessary but then a path so you can get away!! I thought he was a genius...He just had a great deal of common sense.
I'm off to see what I can get ready to mail on Monday. Still need to send my stocking and the 3 item swap.....Have a great day Sean comes back tomorrow to finish out project .I'll post picturs then.

Lyndonville, NY

Good morning everyone~~~

Waving to Bev & Shirley and Tubby also~~~

Betty lots of wind here, but not a snowfalke around. Sending some big hugs to you. And..you sleep til 7:00? Don't think so! lol

I had a bit of a blow up last night with DH & the kids. They just pushed the wrong button. SO, at 6:15 this morning when the phone rang and he got called into work, I was more than a bit happy! lol Shannon and Shane work today also. And Michael has to figure out what to do with his car....this has NOT been a good 2 months for cars in this family.

Maggie, hope you're feeling better and on your way home shortly. I know they said Monday, but sure hope it is sooner. Hugs,

Susan, when do you start the new job? You must be excited.

Gotta run...be back
Debbie

Glenview, IL

Good Morning!

Joining you for Hot Chocolate, mmmmm, lets throw in few marshmellows.

Oh Betty, Hope your plow guy is ok. You be careful out there in the snow!

Well, we went to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra last night. WOW and Wow again. It was spectacular.
A Rock Orchestra is the only way to describe. All the music was set with laser lights.
The first half is set with a Christmas story line and Music. The the second half is regular kind of music of the Rock genere.
It was 3 hours long and every minute was a thrill.
I especially enjoyed watching my girl's excitement through out.

Oh Debbie, yikes...Good thing everyone is to busy so you get your groove back. Sure know how that is, Now remeber what Doc said and try and relax...LOL, thought that was too cute he brought you an Oreo cookie! You have been being good so yep your deserved it, lol too bad he didn't give you a cup of RC too, but hey better not rock the boat. Keep up the good work...
Do you use a lot of salt...We have switched to the Mediterranean salt. personally, nothing needs salt because foods have their own natural...OK will stop playing Dr. mom... Anyway, i hope things settle down for you.

OMG, Julia DID go out shopping yesterday! LOL, she said it wasn't terrible when she went and she didn't seem to be fatigued, so she has a nice early start...good for her...
I was working diligently on my snow scene yesterday until DH called. Needed me to drop off the key to the job! Hellooo, lol what a thing to forget.

Stacey, did you get to Joanns? Hope it was bad for you either.

Betty, so now that you have your Jewlery ordered are you all set? Now just to finish wrapping. You know, I absolutley love to wrap gifts of any kind!! LOL, I find it to be comforting. Once my MIL asked if i could wrap her gifts, she had a broken arm at the time...LOL she raved at how perfect my wrapping skills were, hehehe, so when i wrap hers, I really take my time.

Susan, did you finish your letters. LOL, what you did copy, fold, is what I did...Hearing what you were doing kind of made me miss the office! Ahhh the memories, i could fold your what? 800 letters in about 15 minutes hehehe, stuffed & labeled in another 15 to 20!
OH How was the Movie???That is one i would really love to see.

OH my gosh, i feel so good today. I slept until 8:45 this morniing!! oh boy i needed that.
Today i am going to finish my stocking and re-work Barbs Christmas Swap block!! Goodness, I really did have them all done way back when, But I rejected one of the Four and haven't had time to work it. Today is the day!!I want to get it in the mail o Monday!

Barb, OMG...When I was a little kid, We had that big blizzard in the late 60's,My sisters and I lived at A.G.O. (Angel Guardian orphanage) well, LOL, The kids used to jump into snow piles from the second floor balconies or slide down them!! And now i am thinking, maybe those were fire drills! I can't remember that I personally did, but my sisters talked of doing such things...Man, I missed out on all that fun, lol!

OHHH!! Jake sis really well took out all the Varsity in his weight match! So he is now 4-0, His V-buddies are so proud of him, and us too.
He was back at it today, This is the largest match they will be in. Hopefully the Team will do better today.

OK, I better go make some coffee.

Lyndonville, NY

Judy, we saw TSO last year, just two days after Christmas! I thought the same as you, totally awesome! The fun thing this year, my son is playing a TSO rendition in the school concert with him on guitar. He band teacher is amazed this kid is self taught. I can't wait to see it...it is Dec. 1st! So glad you had a good time.

As for the "doc". Well, I haven't added salt to anything for some time, and have been very very careful with all salt and sugar content since they told me I was pre-diabetic this summer. My hands are so puffy and hurt so bad, he is worried about me taking the extra diuretics...which he thinks I need...because my kidneys are already upset, not noticing much change yet.

Yes, I felt bad I unloaded yesterday, but when you're supposed to be resting, you just spent two hours at grocery store...taking kid for haircut...come in and sit down for a bit...and someone says "what are you making for dinner?" NOT a good thing. There were so many leftovers in the house..but they couldn't do that. I got mad and fried hotdogs, melted cheese, made bake beans and apple sauce also...and I went up to bed.

Glenview, IL

OMG Debbie, You are too good!!
hands on the hips, I WOULD have told them, theres the fridge and while your at at it, make ME a dish too!! LOL...MY gosh your kids are old enough to fend for themselves...
Can't say i blame you on getting upset...Next make them a list and send them to the store. Sounds lie you need to go on strike for a bit!

Awe so sorry about the hands. Have you tried soaking them in cold water? The cold seams to help my hands and swealling.

Wow, how cool your DS going a mini TRO gig!! That should be really cool, hope you will tape it!! Is it for school talent thing??
Kids amaze me at what they learn on there own! He's got a gift for music, my Julia is the same, taught herself to play guitar, not with music but by ear!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hello there, shovelled for 1 1/2 hrs. and loved being out there, everything is so pretty, NOT so much inside, Ann is here, we've half a forest on the floor, Elvis is singing "Merry/Merry Christmas Baby' along with us, troubles for both of us put behind for the day!!!! Even doing the odd dance....

Want to gab with you but will have to do so in a bit as I have to keep up with Ann..lol..pictures to follow..did read and my heart goes out to you Debbie..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Debbie you might also try cranberry capsules. It really flushes you out - just stay home with a bathroom close.
I too would be all over your kids. They would go hungry before I got them something if a Dr had told me I HAVE to rest. No wonder you are run down and ill. I told mine that my job was to teach them; to make them as independent as possible so they would know how to take care of themselves. After that they were "on their own" if I had something going on. I didn't care if they ate peanut butter and jelly as long as they got it for themselves. None of them starved!!! They will not do for themselves as long as you do for them.

Lyndonville, NY

Oh Judy, as we say on some of the threads "Blue words were flying" and it wasn't pretty! The cold seems to make my hands worse, but I did have a heating pad on my bad which helped the kidney pain, and tucking my hands back there did feel good with the warmth.

It is our school Christmas band concert, they have the normal band which is all the kids playing...and doing TSO as one of their songs. Also, DS is in Jazz band which he plays Tenor Sax and also guitar. Yes, he has learned by ear mostly....he can't read music for guitar, he knows cords. When he was about 5 years old...Carrie was playing theme from Titanic at the piano...he was watching. She got done...and he played about the first 30 notes. We were dumbfounded. He would watch Carrie play something, and then he played. and YES, Ihopefully will be taping it! lol

Betty what are you doing shoveling? Thought you were getting the blower out. It is just starting to flurry here...but wind is still so cold and nasty.

Lyndonville, NY

Barb, cross posted. Thank you. thats what I thought I was doing...but it was DH who started this one. I think thats what got me so upset, he had nagged me to go to the doctors, I did...and told him exactly what the doc said...and then "what are you making for dinner" and BOOM!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Debbie I am with the rest on the dinner thing. I would have told them to make a sandwich and have some chips. I am quite sure you are not the only one in the house who can read the directions on a box-shame on them:(

Judy-I went to Joann's in the am and the cutting line was like an hour long, so I just got my thread and got the heck out of there!! I did go back in the afternoon with Jonathan and while it is hard to push both a stroller and a cart, I managed to do it, got most of the flannel I wanted-they were out of a couple I wanted:(-and only waited 20 mins in the cutting line:)

Betty-how much snow did you get??

Now that I have my camera, here are some blanket pics-now keep in mind that only this first one has been clipped and is completely done....it is a cars one for my BFF's 1 yr old son

This one is a pink John Deere themed one for the friend that took me to the hospital when I was in labor and comes to sit with Jonathan sometimes...she never wants anything for it, so this is her thank you gift. She also stayed here and watched the animals when we went to St. Louis.

Stacey, you have done a wonderful job on those quilts! They will make someone really nice and comfy on these cold days!

it dropped to 33 here last night! Glad I got all m y brugs cut back, but the few I did leave out as a test were not frost bit at all. The weather channel said because we had such low humidity, and dew point, it should not hurt the plants!

Glenview, IL

Smart move on the Joannes first go,lol, don't think i'd wanna wait in and hour lone either...Our JoAnnes put in a number system! I love it, now they just have to figure on not waiting for the person with number...I mean yeah grab a number and go about looking but be cool and get right back when # is called. But i am so glad you found most of what you were looking for second round...LOL, you'll be amazed at what you learn to do while toting Bubbas, wink.

Betty, Oh Gosh, i can just picture all the greenery...Oh i bet your house smells wonderful!! I hope you and Ann Have great fun.
Yep, got to have Elvis singing Christmas to set the mood.
Geesh, sure hope the snow was light and fluffy...We haven't had a flurry yet, it's been too cold to snow.Last night it was a whopping 16, brrr and i didn't think to grab a hat, ears froze on the way back to car sigh.

Sooo, here is the Kitchen Big Wall! Not much in the way of decoration. Wanted a small shelf there, but DH cabots that idea, afraid Birdie will not only make a mess but knock down things, sighs again! ROFLOL, I've had that Pizza Plate in the cabinet for years...Always wanted to hang it on the wall, so DH argued and I said well then Lets get rid of it!! LOL, he finally saw the light and rigged up two plate holders to accommodate the size...

Well, i better get to working on my projects...While i work i am watching Sister Act 2, just a cute movie.

Debbie, that's really cool about your Sean. Julia was the same way. She plays the Alto Sax, has played the Baratone, wow that is one big Sax!! Then when Jake was playing the Violin, She picked it up and began playing it as well, I just about hit the floor. OMG, would love to hear your sons Christmas Show, i really miss going to those. Hope Y'all have a great day!! I am off to work :( Wishing I could stay home and sew!!!!

Lyndonville, NY

Judy, first off, love love LOVE the kitchen! Turned out great!

And...Shane started playing violin 3 months ago! Just like you said with your DD, he picked it up....and I heard actual music. Like you, my jaw dropped! He came back from Chicago last Spring playing a harmonica.

Yes the baratone sax is huge! I don't think Shane has access to one. Right now he is trying to figure out which college he wants to go too, and looking at one 2 hours away in the Finger Lakes. I don't like that...but know he needs to get away.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Happy Late Thanksgiving Everyone!! I hope y'all had a good one, me and Dave went to my mom's in Oklahoma City. We got back last night and have been working in the yard clearing leaves!

I remember playing instruments in school! Sometimes I want to go rent something to just blow on it for awhile. Wonder how much it costs to rent a Bass Clarinet... hhmmmmm

I've scanned, big big hugs Debbie and Joyce, congrats Susan, shoveling Betty?

I raked a bunch of leaves a bit ago, I should go take pics! Dave's gonna have to mix some gas for the blower so I can blow and he can rake. Blah!

Stacey those are nice! Want me to send you a rag quilt kit? I bought one for 2 bucks at a garage sale then when I got it home I remembered that I don't have a sewing machine LOL

WAVING!!!!!!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon or is it evening, yikes, Ann and I had planned to go to the St.Marie Amongst the Hurons to see 2,000 candles lit tonight but after we worked all day both looked at each other and said no, perhaps another day..Crissy, you most likely remember the Fort we went to see where the Jesuit Missionaries were killed, think a lot of their fort had tornado damage...anyway with the snow and temps dropping I'll pass!

Had a wonderful day, didn't get all the arrangements I wanted done finished but we did clean up and after eating breakfast/dinner and supper I'll come back to finish a few more..turned out nice, sure wish the beauty would come through on the photo's..

Judy, mess, wow, more than mess but after tonight my craft room will be clean again; it's an uphill and downhill battle keeping your crafting/sewing rooms clean..

Thumbnail by Bettypauze

Getting containers and supplies out is half the battle

It was nice gabbing to Ann without seeing the tears in her eyes, she even sang along as Elvis sang..had a wonderful talk which did her and I both the world of good..
