Morning all, as usual I missed the party, lordy you will have to send out your invitations Mary a few hours earlier just so I can drop in, have a glass of wine and enjoy all the sweets you all made along with music and decorations..

Went to bed last night and thanked the Lord for his kindness and reminded him of his promise than when a gathering asks of HIM he will provide, so I asked for all your health and that jobs be found for Joyce and Thunder's son..it will come..just have to know He's watching and has a plan.

Bev,Shirley,Tubby, hope you are improving with each day..
LindaKay, hope all is well in your world, haven't seen you post here in a few days, miss you!

Had a wonderful evening with the boys and Melanie, she's always on the run so when she takes time to relax it's wonderful..was laughing, Greg was home and still had about 30 pom pom's to make..told her that would have been the perfect job for me at work so pondering that thought she said perhaps tomorrow and can sew them all onto the sock hats..2 per hat.

Have lots of leftover wool same color as the hats so my thoughts are when I've a bit of time will make 2 large squares on the knitting machine put flannel inside and sew the 3 layers making a warm blankie to sit on in the arena..hoping I can do before Christmas..

This morning I realized I'm not running around, taking my time and that's wonderful..had taken Greg's rag quilt out of the work box and I've 5 rows to add on, 4 now because I just put one on and it will be done..

Rose and I were gabbing last night, her birthday is Friday but because she is going home I told her I invited a few people to come over tomorrow night for pizza..the weekend after she's in Ottawa, then the next home and would you believe the following week already her parents pick her up to take her home..boo hoo, just know I'm going to cry.

Well, going to see what's going on upstairs, hope after the party some of you will be around to keep me company...oooh, that might be difficult, you all will have your hands full with Thanksgiving!

Verona, ON

Morning Betty! Crisp and cool here but the wind has died. DH is off to the Doc bright and early, we'll be into Kingston and back probably before 11 am. Fingers crossed anyway.
Feeling anxious this morning and it just dawned on me my MIL was burried a year ago today. I could not attend due to my health so never really had closure. While she was not a good MIL and worse still a horrid mother to her 3 boys I needed to say goodbye to her. Will think of something , perhaps a fire outside tonight as DH will not go back to his hometown his memories are so bad.
Still very excited for you Susan.
Sending positive thougts to you Joyce and Thunder's son. Aren't you blessed Thunder to have such a wonderful DH and 3 sons?

Time to go! Later!
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Same weather here Dianne, you take care travelling to Dr's appt. am sure there will be ice patches here and there this early in the morning..sending prayers that your DH results make you both smile..

Know about the feelings you get re uneasy and not knowing why, then all of a sudden you remember..hugs to you, difficult time but yes, maybe make a mock memorial tribute and say the things you didn't get to say the day of the burial..Judy always makes a fire to do hers, that might be just what you need..

Saturday would be my 45 anniversary, 20 years after celebrating my 25th and Roger feeling ill the 26th and everything went to hell in a handbasket until New Years day when he passed on..so long ago but feels like yesterday! The next few weeks I relive each and everyday, sometimes I think it's the reason I go into rapid mode, my way of getting through things...so this weekend I'll make sure not an hour is left to sit and ponder the 'what could have been' so I do understand where you are coming from today..as they say, big armwraps coming your way..

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Betty, you're an AWESOME Grandma!!

(((Betty))) Hugs to help you through this time of year...

Thank you all for your kind thoughts...I was just saying to my DH yesterday that we don't know the big plan...my folks said they're sorry I didn't get the job but they NEED me right now, so maybe that's his plan. One day at a time....

Susan, the quote was what the HR dept. sent me....I definitely didn't get the job and as far as that goes, It was a face to face interview that I didn't get. Guess if I wasn't going to get it, it's easier to get let down now instead of interviewing for it, and then not getting it....

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

(((((((((((((Betty))))))))))))))))
Sorry - I missed the party too - usually everyone is gone by the time I leave, and when no one was answering for over 1/2 hour, I thought you'd all gone to sleep LOL

Thank you for the burgundy balloons - they're still inflated this am, Just Like Me lol
I asked Bob what it felt like sleeping beside an "employed person" and he said "just the same as always" LOL Bless his heart...!

Mary - you're such a sweetheart to have started the party, even though I as gone.... gone.... gone to sleep! lol I thought I'd have a difficult time sleeping, but I went to sleep after only 5 min of "mind tossing" LOL
I would have liked 5k more of an income, but Hey - it's more than last job & I'm Going To Be Working!!!! woooo hoooooo!!! Now, to talk to the woman I will be working for..... I hope she calls this am, cuz I'm not going to be here for most of the aft - I have some shopping to do for quilt batting, and other stuff! I need to get a pair of work slacks, and other stuff. I'll need to get a haircut, too!! Boy oh boy, it's nice to "care" about my appearance again!! Now, I hope they have a gym nearby...... I have gone to one, and still have a membership there, but it's in the opposite direction!! Oh well, one's 5 min drive away, and the other's 10 min drive away......from home, that is.

Joyce - strong praying for you...... and Thunder, prayers being said for your son - Lord, please give them gainful employment that Does Not undervalue them in these difficult times. YOU know they are worthy people and deserve a worthy job. Thy Will Be Done. Amen.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

hahahaha cross-posted, Joyce...... ((((((((((Joyce))))))))

Lyndonville, NY

Joyce, I am so sorry about the job. As everyone keeps telling me, "there is a perfect job out there, waiting for you...and when its meant to happen, it will." I have been actively searching for over 2 years....and even Walmart or Burger King said no. I was the Admin. Assistant & Office Manager for United Way, running their campaign in our county years ago...and I can't even get a job at BK! Lots of hugs,

Susan, a big congrats to you! So glad the "ducks are in a row" there for your new position. Sounds like there were some mixed signals with all the moving and changes....but looks like its bright ahead now.

Maggie, I finally got a note from Justin this morning, after weeks of worrying. He has been "out somewhere in Afghan." for 3 weeks and just got back to camp yesterday. Long as I know he is OK....I will be Ok. You can't tell my heart I didn't give birth to that boy. AND, on a good note, they have 16 boxes going over there to two servicemen/troops thru DH's work....along with your surprise!

I have butternut squash in the oven, smells so good...but I don't even eat the stuff! lol Trying to get little bits done ahead at a time so tomorrow won't be such chaos.

DH will make the pies when he gets home, he has a special touch. ME, I look at flour...and it is all over me and the kitchen, and quite the site!

Tubby & Shirley, how are you doing? I hope family will be joining you tomorrow. Any news on your DD? Please keep us posted....sending lots and lots of hugs and love your way. I am so thankful for all the times Tubby has made me laugh this year!

Ok, off to finish burning tomorrows dinner....I have such a special touch!

OHHHHH Judy....I have TWO bottles of RC chilling. LOL

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

((((((((((((Debbie))))))))))))))) Prayers for you, in your job search...... I honestly don't know how you are doing this!! I'd be a "basket case" after all this time...
Dear Lord, Debbie needs to see Your presence by way of a valued job for her. We all know you have a Plan, and we sincerely need to have at least a glimpse of it. As human beings, we are sometimes impatient, and know You will do things in your own time, but Your children suffer during times of unemployment. Please, give her a sign and hope. Amen.

Just got to keep praying, so many in need..every morning I get a prayer from Joel Olsteen Ministry, today it read...

No matter what may be happening in the world around you, you can always find something to thank God for. Gratitude is a powerful force that opens the door to God’s blessing. Having constant gratitude proves your faith in God because not only do you thank Him for what He has done in the past, you thank Him for what He will do in the future. It’s that kind of faith that pleases God. Constant gratitude also shows humility because when we are thankful, we magnify God instead of magnifying our problems. It gives us proper perspective and opens the door for God’s grace, favor and supernatural empowerment.
So what are you grateful for today? Are you grateful for the sun that shines and brings a new day? Are you thankful for the gift of eternal life? As you choose an attitude of constant gratitude, you’ll experience His mercy and loving kindness in greater ways. You’ll be filled with His peace and joy and pave the way to move forward into the abundant life He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, thank You for another day to praise You. Thank You for all You have done in my life. Help me to see Your hand of blessing as I continually acknowledge and praise Your name. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - once upon a time I got an email (sorry it's so long, but it needs to be repeated) that said:

WHAT HAPPENS IN HEAVEN WHEN WE PRAY?
I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, ' This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received.

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.
The angel then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them." I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. "This is the Acknowledgment Section, my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed." How is it that there is no work going on here? ' I asked.

"So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments"
"How does one acknowledge God's blessings? " I asked..
"Simple," the angel answered. Just say, "Thank you, Lord. "
"What blessings should they acknowledge?" I asked.

"If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy. "
"And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity."
"If you woke up this morning with more health than illness .. You are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day. "
"If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... You are ahead of 700 million people in the world."
"If you can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world."
"If your parents are still alive and still married ...you are very rare."
"If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair......."

Ok, what now? How can I start?
If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings , and if you care to, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are

ATTN: Acknowledge Dept.
"Thank you Lord, for giving me the ability to share this message and for giving me so many wonderful people with whom to share it. "

If you have read this far, and are thankful for all that you have been blessed with, how can you not send it on ??? ? I thank God for everything, especially all my family and friends

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG Susan, thank you for posting, going to print it and set it by my desk..

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Yes, it is true that so many have prayers of what they want, and when they get it, forget that it's the Lord that provided it.
As one email I got said:
"A fellow was trying to find a parking spot and said 'Lord, if you get me a parking spot close to the building, I will shout praises to you.' and when he found one right away, he said 'Never mind, Lord, I found one' "
Jaye said to me yesterday "I'm sure, when you got the job, that you got down on your knees and thanked God"....... now how did she know I did?!?!?! LOL

Lyndonville, NY

Susan, I love that, I will also be printing it..

One of our "girls" here needs some prayers....pronto!

Maggie posted on FaceBook she is at the hospital with a collapsed lung!
Good gracious lady!

Sending good thoughts and prayers her way!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Lord - watch over Maggie and her suffering with her lungs - guide the hands of those who care for her, in the hospital. Amen

Thank you for letting us know, Debbie!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Keeping Maggie in my prayers as well. Lord please give her strength to heal - in Jesus' name - Amen

Lyndonville, NY

She now has a tube between the ribs, into the lung, to release /inflate the lung. OUCH!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

OUCH, indeed! I'd heard of this process before.... she'll be very bruised............but it helps her breathe and that's the main thing.
I wonder why people's lungs collapse???

Lyndonville, NY

From what I know...a virus/pneumonia will do it, or an injury from hard blow to area/car accident. She hasn't said what happened.

Spontaneous Pneumothorax

Lyndonville, NY

Are you home Maggie or still in hospital?

Warner Robins, GA(Zone 8b)

I had nothing wrong, nothing traumatic happened, my right lung just collapsed in the middle of the night. Crazy huh? Crazy & painful! I do have a chest tube in, but it's not doing the job as well as the dr's wanted. Now they're talking about removing this one and replacing with a larger one. Doesn't sound like much fun to me. I was scared to death the first time!!! Everything went fast. Seemed like as soon as I got here, they ran a couple tests, took blood, xrays and then BAM...I had a chest tube. All of the test came back fine. That's good. I don't want to be given bad news.

Thank you all for your sweet words. I'll be ok. Just bummed about my Thanksgiving dinner. I had everything ready to cook for my family and now I'm stuck here. As of now, I can't leave until at least Monday. :(. There went my plans of mailing my swap & Faye's shipping money. Sorry ladies.

Ttys!!!
*hugs*
~Maggie

You'll be seeing me alot I'm sure. Stuck here with nothing to do...phone & DG!!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

((((((((((((((Maggie))))))))))))) maybe it's the Lord's way to telling you to relax!!
I'm glad you have a laptop!!

Verona, ON

((((((Maggie))))))) but gentle ones. The lengths you go to to avoid cooking that dinner tomorrow - just kidding you know that! You can join us for our Night Shift, Mary is known to throw quite the party.
Who is taking care the kidlings?
You know I can smell all those turkeys being cooked south of the border. Nothing like that smell to wake up to in the morning.
Oooops gotta run help DH when I get back I will tell you my favourite story about Barbara Walters and her Thanksgiving when her DD was young.
