Here's what I raked...
Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!Just Gab'n
Did 12 arrangement in all, I need about 6 more..lol
Was happy, found another box of goodies, knew my good looking santa plaque was missing and a table runner I did out of linoleum..yikes, have about 8 leaves to paint green, forgot I was in a hurry last year, promised myself before it got put away I'd finish it but didn't..perhaps tonight I'll set it on the coffee table, wouldn't take long..
Ann asked if I had any linoleum left that I could cut her out one, might see if I can but not tonight, maybe early tomorrow morning before I go to glass jewelery class..
Been quite the weekend I'll tell you..think sometimes they all get together to keep me busy lol
I thought you were supposed to be resting on the weekends!!! I know - you don't understand that word. Rest tonight okay?? Or should we say Please!!!! How much snow did you end up with? All we are soupposed to get is flurries.....Thank heaven I say.....
Here I am now that I've oooh'd and ahhh'd at your posts..
Stacey, I'm amazed, those are absolutely beautiful, favorite, the pink! Was it only 2 years ago you visited and we worked on your first rag quilt amongst other things..boy, you've put in a lot of hours on those!
Joyce, glad you've dropped by, not a night goes by that I don't include you and yours in my prayers!
Judy, it's wonderful having been to your house the past few years and knowing each and every room where you hang out to see all the changes you've made. Love the paint job..nothing like the feeling of accomplishment is there and now you are sitting there sewing/doing crafts and I can picture you signing Christmas tunes...
Debbie, shaking my head, 'what were they thinking' not thinking I guess. They are so used to you doing everything around there that they just don't realize that if they don't give you time to recoup that you one day won't be there..trust me, they can cook, they can clean but why should they, YOU do it even when you are sick..that's the big sister Betty talking as she's pointing her finger at you..Wish I could apply for you passport because I would then I could pick you up and mother you for a week or so!
Talking about Mothers..lol..mine called, wanted to know why I haven't been calling??? She and Jim were going to the gmt. office to get their passports done, expire Dec.10,2010.
Asked what I was doing for Christmas, said as far as I know, not much, she said 'do you think Jim and I could come, we've nowhere to go???' ok, always invite her, not sure it wasn't a dig that she originally thought she'd be in Florida!
Crissy, how did you visit with YOUR mom go...same old/same old? That's a lot of yard to rake, finish yours then come rake mine, might have to be in the pring because it's covered in about 6" of snow.
Thunder wish you could stay here and play as well..don't work too hard.
LindaKay, that's cold for your neck of the woods isn't it? what is keeping you busy today, know you are organized so do you have any sewing left to do?
Barb, looking forward to seeing photo's from your painting day with Sean..you are indeed blessed!
All of you with talented musical children, I've got a few as well, Jeff can play any instrument and his son Braedon is starting to play guitar as well..often play when they are here but they won't let me sing, wonder why???
Well hot chocolate and a sandwhich is the call of the day..I'm hungry, worked my (&*^ off so deserve to eat! Gab later
Barb, got to say like my grandmother always said "you are a long time dead, do things, keep yourself active" know I always listened to grandma but think I took her phrase to heart all through my lifetime..this was kind of resting, besides, seeing Ann excited about playing with arrangements was far better than resting
Hi - sorry haven't been posting - been Very Busy, and now I'm z'austed.........
1. got 400 printed (double sided) and folded, then this am delivered 100 of the (about 1/3 of my "route" that I was assigned). Will need to print more I think.
2. Movie last night - Eat Pray Love with Julia Roberts was good - very "true to life" scenes in India, Italy and Bali. For some reason the sound of what Should have been background music ended up in the front, and the voices were background and not as audible as it should have been.... Didn't get home until 10pm, and to sleep at 1:30, and up at 6:30 to deliver newsletters.
3. Tree decorating at 1pm at the church, and put up new banners for Advent. Took 3 of them home - 2 older ones without a hanging cord so will cut them for these 2, and I brought home one of the new ones I made - apparently I couldn't see the length and the bottom is crooked, so will need to straighten and sew it, before tomorrow morning's service.
When I was delivering the newsletters, it was a very hilly area, and some homes have steps about 1 flight of stairs worth, and I couldn't see the "no flyers" sign until I was at the top!! After all that walking, my left knee is burning like someone stuck a Hot Poker in it.... it's painful. Because of that I didn't go to voice lessons, just rested and went to decorate the tree..,,
After I finish re-sewing the banner hem, I'm going to Do Nothing, but rest.......
Yes, I'm excited about starting my new job on Dec 6th - next Monday!! Next week I have to put together, and tie, my DM's quilt for her Christmas pressie..... ^_^ going to use the basement floor at the Church... more room there than any room in my home.....
oh yeah.... and now that this newsletter is done, we have to create another one for the 1st quarter of 2011 - Jan/Feb/March, to be delivered Dec 18th.......... siiiiiiiiigh - this time someone had Better proofread my work, cuz I Won't Be Doing the Reprinting again......
Crissy-what in the world is a rag quilt kit??
Betty-yes I think it was almost 2 yrs ago-march of '09:)
Judy-love the kitchen!!
Thanks all for the nice compliments!! There is something amiss with my sewing machine. The top tension is too tight no matter what number I have it on....grrr.....
Here is a pic of Jonathan from Thanksgiving-taking the only nap he got;) He only slept about an hour total the whole time he was there. No wonder he was cranky on the way home;)
Stacey - if the top thread is wonky, then it's the bobbin (always the opposite - top looks wrong = bottom bobbin problem; bottom looks wrong = top thread problem
Did you try removing top thread and re-threading Stacey..oooh he's just so cute, if I was there I'd be pinching those cheeks so lucky for him I'm not!
Rag quilt kit, lots of people start project, cut out square and decide it's not for them, lucky you if you have one Crissy, maybe you could borrow a machine?? You are doing great job with you painting maybe sewing?
Wow, that's a lot of leaves Crissy, you'll be ready to return to work for sure after raking all of those..have the same but with the snow I no can see so am a happy camper, can just pretend I did rake, at least until spring when the snow melts and they are uncovered!
Lordy Susan, that's quite a weekend, I thought I was hard on myself!!! you had best watch out or you'll have a job and not well enough to start it. Isn't there anyone else who can help, surely there is?
I'm about where you are today, exhausted..had much planned for this evening but you know what, Christmas isn't for a little over 3 weeks and it can wait..imagine me saying that..but I'm dead tired, been quite a day, tomorrow's a bright new day so I'll worry about what gets done then.
Enjoy your evening everyone, know it's early but I'm turning in!
Margaret helped by folding 400 of the newsletters, and I wasn't the only one delivering - we had 6 other people besides me. Some of them will deliver on another day (they were moving today), and one person is delivering to 185 homes, while another delivered 200 - 1/2 this am, and 1/2 this afternoon (after she helped decorate the tree).
I really hadn't meant to sound as if I were doing it all...... everyone in the church does Just as much as I do, but different things. I suppose I was a bit tired and cranky today, but now that I've corrected the hem on one of the banners, sat and watched TV (a couple of Christmas movies) and had pizza for supper, I'm feeling more relaxed. My throat is a little scratchy, so I'm going to have some tea......
Hope you are not coming down with something Susan, you certainly don't need to get sick now...
Nope, didn't take it as you were doing ALL the work, just that I think you were doing a lot for one person..as Rec. Co-ordinator I know how fast volunteers can burn out..we wouldn't want that now would we..
If nothing else my not being able to sleep I'll get to do a few more arrangements and maybe have my craft room cleaned by morning..lol
Moved us over...
