OH Housse, I love LOVE those pictures! And the Hello Kitty treat carrier, my favorite! Did you make the vampires cape? Love the print!

My "way" is shortcuts I learned, two employment agencies I tested with, the minute you would move the cursor to do your comand or such...it just beeped and went to the next question. DH actually just gave me some training CDs for Excel and Office.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Love those costumes - the kids look so happy in them!!

"it just beeped and went to the next question." Well that's just nasty. most people will at least give you a "heads-up" what's not acceptable for "shortcuts and such"

Hemet, CA(Zone 9b)

I do not know exactly where I'm at on DG or whether it's approriate or not. Just had to say this to someone. My first love, high school sweetheart whom I divorced over 40+ years ago died a couple of weeks ago. Had not seen him in 20 + years,. He is the absent father of my 2 older sons. Hurting, crying today for what could never have been. Perhaps someone out there hears my heart.
Thanks dear ones for hearing my heart,
Sylvia

Lexington Park, MD

Yes I made the capes for both last year and store bought costumes sale rack 60% off.
Yes that is what happens beep..............
Sylvia, so sorry to hear about your lose.

Lyndonville, NY

Sylvia, You have my heart....and my hugs. I have worn those similar shoes, I understand them. Although mine is still alive...I so understand your pain.

Take care,
Debbie

Lyndonville, NY

Trust me, it is nasty! My DD even tried it...she is proficient in Excel, but these testing programs are NOT user friendly. Now I panic if I have to take one.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I don't mind taking computer tests - I used to be a computer tech support person, so I learned about MACs and PCs, plus I'd taken an Office Administration course and had to take courses on Windows and MS Office based programs (PowerPoint, Outlook, browsers, etc). It's been awhile (2003), but I constantly use all these programs at work and home.

Hemet, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks so much Debbies

Your reply means more to me than you will ever know. The pain in my heart is very deep and you have touched it with your healing reply.
Sylvia

Glenview, IL

Sylvia, I am very sorry for your loss.
...I had a friend who went through the same, it was very hard on her
Sending hugs and warm thoughts to you.
Judy.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Sylvia - never having gone through this type of loss, I'm really at a loss for words, but I'm glad you came by & let us know of your pain. If you need to talk, please say whatever you want - we'll listen, and hopefully give you some release.

Baton Rouge, LA

(((HUGS))) Sylvia... I can't completely understand ...your particular situation however I do understand the "absent" father... my DS's father was absent... sometimes years on end... forgetting holidays and bdays... He did show up at graduation in May... I guess an 18 year old is easier than an 8 year old... however we have't really heard from him since... So I would think so difficult with your ex's passing... and what children have missed out on... Please do whatever you can to take care of yourself at this time....

Susan - Sounds like you've got a handle on it... I'll have to remember you for my excel and computer questions !

Laura - OMG ! Your little devil and vampire are SO so cute..... they had a very Happy Halloween ?

Deb - your afternoon somehow brings me comfort...that I'm not the only one dealing with the "absent son" and the "mouthy one"..... Thank you and ((HUGS))

Betty - what a Great crew ! Those boys had fun I can tell.. those bags of candy look HEAVY !!!

BElle is trying to type you all a message.... boy has she gotten BIG !

Hugs,
Mary

Lyndonville, NY

OHHHHH I did a BETTY! I burned the beans...big time! AND, the pot is a complete loss!

Baton Rouge, LA

Oh Dear Debbie ! We must come up with a word for that one !

(ie. "Bettergied = exponential energy on the scale of Betty" )

Lyndonville, NY

I can't tell you how bad burned beans....green beans...smell...in a revere ware pan. I dont know if it will be saveable.

What is is, baking soda that you put in the bottom?

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

maybe one of those baking soda and vinegar "volcanoes" would bubble some of it off???? sprinkle on baking soda, splash with vinegar....beware it bubbles like crazy....you might want to do it inside the sink.....

Lyndonville, NY

Ya know, i do want to paint the ceiling in the kitchen...not sure my hubby is going to buy the excuse. "I don't know what happened...it just blew!!!"

Baton Rouge, LA

LOL Debbie !

Well - "Stuff" happens ... and I do know that you have enough "Stuff" going on in your life right now to deal with that...

"Beans" are SO insignificant !!!!

Btw - we had an "Employee appreciation " day last Friday...and a "Guess the Beans in the Jar" contest... and I did not win... BUT I did come in SECOND PLACE with my guess of 1,564 Beans ! LOL

Lyndonville, NY

Well, it happened like this.....I was on the computer..hehehe Imagine that

Mike walks in: Mom....whats for dinner?

Me: Meatloaf, squash cassarole and greenbeans.....

Mike says: And which one smells so bad?

Me: OMG! The beans! and runs....for the kitchen.

They were so burned, they wouldn't even dump out of the pot!

Now Mary, if you were just "under" you should have slid your hand in...ate a handful....and demanded a recount!

Sylvia....I hope your able to get some rest tonight, we are all here if you need to chat. I hope each day gets a bit easier for you. It is such a hard situation. Hugs & sweet dreams....

I am going to try and sleep. been up since 3:30 a.m

Good night....fair well....alverder...noo...ahal....Dang, I can't spell it...
I am out of here!

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sylvia, you are amongst friends here, so sorry of your loss! The loss of someone you love is overwhellming, sending you hugs and prayers..you could not have found a thread to come to who has more gracious, caring, loving people, hearts as my kids would say as big as the sky..

Hurrah, the girl who gave me the caution sign for burning food burnt a pot, yikes, doing the happy dance, see, not the only one who burns supper..Debbie, I was buried the pot outside so no one would see it..lol.. you've got to hide the 'proof' do like the kids do and when someone asks who did it say 'I don't know!' How can beans blow up???

Think our Thunder has burnt a pot or two..lol..she seems to know how to salvage a pot!

Laura, love the kids costumes, omg your children are adorable.!were you busy last week doing renovations and sewing costumes..

Mary you are just too cute, laughed at 'beans are SO insignificant' leave it to you..hey I'm with the night shift..been drilling christmas trees/snowpeople for the 4th Christmas Craft project on DG, arms is sore, drill is heavy..how is Belle's training going. Melanie (DIL) was telling me Ned is not doing well in doggie school, nope, won't listen..Kyle said his favorite thing is going into their laundry hamber and chewing thus the socks with holes in..

Judy, you asked earlier what I was working on, hey girl, check the workshop thread, I haven't stopped since Friday night, ok, I stopped just long enough to go to Noah's hockey game but made up for it getting up before 4am..you weren't even around to keep me company..

Tired, so off to bed I go, look forward to waking up and reading the night shift post and early morning crew usually has goodies to eat and drink..for me it's waving to all..

Prayers for those in need, thinking of our friends Bev/Scotty, our Australian Laura, Joyce's mom and daughter, Janice and Stacey who has lost a loved one, our Tubby and Shirley, my friends Ann/Mike, Sylvia, I'm sure I'm forgetting someone but know they'll be included in my prayers..

It's now Beddybyes,
Good Lord willing we'll gab tomorrow!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Night Debbie, catch on the morning shift.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

good night everyone - prayers and sincere hugs to all

I have the 9:30 phone interview, then 20 minutes of testing at the office building..... proofreading, and excel........ should be a 'lead pipe cinch'

I'll let you know what happens, k?

Ciao bueno, Bella!

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Betty, I have not ever burned a pan...really. after we all moved outta the house and Momma had to learn to cook, or go hungry LOL she did lots of burning...and that was her "fix" !! My Father was a chef at one point, and he did all of the cooking, taught all of us (one of the few good things he ever did in life) after dear old dad left, my sisters and I did all the cooking...we slow but sure all moved out, and Momma had to learn.......don't know how she managed to grow up in a house full of women, and a few farmer men, and did not learn to cook????

I used to do tons of cooking, bread from scratch, pies, cookies, muffins all the time. chickens and turkeys, and ducks out of the yard...pigs and rabbits too....big veggie gardens, lots of herbs.....my kids used to joke with their friends about "eatin critters and green stuff outta the yard"...
then Hubby got hurt, and I went to work and he took over the cooking. then I got in a car accident, and now I forget things terrible....(very bad short term memory problems, and lots of blank spaces in time) so If I am cooking....I can not do anything else!!! got to stand right there and watch and wait...or I would forget what I was doing...and I would be burning pans!! yup , kids even know "don't talk to me" if I am cooking, distraction....I would forget...... I don't do any cooking very often, hubby is much better at it than I am!! once upon I time I was very good , not any more....

Debbie, Auf Wiedersehen so long, farewell., good bye !!!! I had to look it up! took German in high school, but don't remember much.

hope Y'all are having sweet dreams, and wake up to a Happy and Healthy day....HUGS....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, thought I'd shake things up a bit and put hot chocolate on, brrrr it's COLD out there, got to remember to start my car and let it run awhile so it will be toasty warm for me when I leave..

Verona, ON

Susan thinking of you this morning and sending positive thoughts. - it is 9:15 am here - are you 1 or 2 hours later than us? You will do great!!
Debbie if the vinegar boiled in the pot and then the addition of baling soda doesn't work try boiling up a bit of rhubarb. Of course I can say that because I have rhubarb in the freezer.
Gorgeous sunny but cold morning out there!
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad you are back safely LindaKay, perhaps once he's there a few days his body will adapt..I should go stay with you for the winter, dampness is giving my problems with my right leg, have it elevated in hopes that the painomg, hot..it's 31 here and I'm freezing, not sure why the office is so cold every morning, no-one turns the heat down unless the owners of the complex do..thank goodness for micro furnaces..

Dianne, rhubbarb being boilt takes cleans pots? better stock rhubbarb big time..do have some in the freezer but need it for strawberry / rhubbarb pie..

So hoping that Susan gets the job, bet we'll hear a big ya hoooo when they say, 'can you start Monday?

Bev, glad to hear you have been doing very little, that's what is needed at this time...we'll be praying and thinking of you tomorrow..guess Scotty doesn't know how to post to let us know how you are doing? How about your son, would he be able to?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hugs to all (I get 'em Back when I hug you, y'know!!)
Dianne - we're on Mountain time, so it's a few minutes to 8 right now. Interview is 1 1/2 hours away!! It won't be one of those behavioural ones (Describe a time when you........) thank goodness. They're just trying to get a "feel" for who I am by having someone I suppose I will be working with, talk to me.
Then, at 1pm, I have to go to the office to have, of all things, proofreading and excel tests - 10 minutes each. Takes me awhile to get there, through miserable traffic. At least it will be 1pm instead of rush hour, but that particular road is busy all the time anyways. It's like an interstate, or Betty - like the QE.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Laura the kids are so cute!!!

Sylvia everyone is right, I can't relate either but I have big big hugs going out to you. He is the father of your kids and therefore will always be in your heart, regardless of what you thought of him on the exterior.

LOL Debbie burned the beans!!!! We're not going to talk about the pot....

Shoot Thunder, that's the way Dave is when he's doing anything. I can't say a word or it throws him way off course.

Glad you made it home safely with him LK, he'll be complaining for another month and then it will be nice there! LOL

(((((((((((((((BEV))))))))))))))))

Verona, ON

OK Susan I will be looking up at that bog old sun and sending positive thoughts and vibes at YOUR time!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thanks Dianne - you're so sweet and supportive - I really appreciate it!

In fact, there's not a single un-supportive person here, and it helps to know I have your "positive vibes" coming from each and every one of you - Thank you soooo much ^_^

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yesterday we matched our record high heat of 89.

Victoria Harbour, ON

89, wow, how come I was born in the north country where the snow falls..hmmm, sure wish I was in your neck of the woods..

Thunder, my hubby did all the cooking as well, spoilt me terribly but not sure that was the way to go..being raised by my grandparents I didn't have to do one thing, not even clean my room soooo could be why along with my getting side-tracked that I am known for burning my meal..just not interested I guess! On special occassions that I tie myself to the stove, everything is perfect.

Not so sure I could have done the chicken thing though..nope..believe this or not, I lived on the far back about 10 years ago, we had chickens, I'd go buy eggs because I couldn't eat my chicken's eggs..crazy the way the mind works..

Long day for you Susan, sitting around waiting?

Sylvia, how are you feeling today, somewhat better?

Poor Dave, he sure gets a ribbing Crissy..did you manage to get all planted on the weekend?

Dianne, we've got sunshine here as well but it certainly isn't hot enought to warm me..are you all now winterized..

Laura, photo's of the rug please, anxious to see it..where did you purchase the tiles?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Prayer for you all...

'May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us'

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Diana came over and helped me, we planted 40 tulips and now I have 20 Freesias and 20 Gladiolas to go! Woo Hoo!!!!

Aw thanks for the prayer Betty!
