MY, gosh DH went to work very late yesterday and today!! Throws me off what I am doing, lol.

Thunder, wow does that remedy work on cleaning everything, like you know, giving renewed look to pots and pans??
I have been wondering what I can do to new-up my pots and pans...

LOLOL, Debbie, got side tracked! When i do dinner same thing here, got to stand gaurd. DH is really bad at getting side tracked, his is by phone calls and work though.

ok - phone interview over - it went very well. it was with a peer in another city - Edmonton. She wanted to know things like "have you ever worked with people at this level before?" "How would you build relationships with other areas (who to contact for leaky faucet; how to get a person set up with a network......)"
Apparently I got through it well. Now, to go get my skills test this afternoon at 1pm. 3 hours to go!

It's only 2 10-minute tests, and very simplistic at that.... it's just the 20 min drive each way for them.... ah well, needs to be done!!

Yeah - "how to open excel; how to click in a cell; how to "save as"....... etc, etc"
Nothing about formulas, or linking spreadsheets etc I'll let you know how it goes.

That is good news Susan, did they say anythng about when the position would start should you have gotten high marks when jumping the hoops.. I play with Excel but rarely, never anything to use it for, shuck, only thing I really use this computer for is gabbing with you all!

Debbie, actually I don't think you are hyper at all, think you grounded me somewhat on our travels last year, it is I who can't stay still for more than 2 minutes..I think that's why I hate visiting, now if they said come visit and we'll do crafts, or show me how to paint (gave lessons when I visited with Judy and Liz) lol, then Liz gave lessons on making lemon merangue pies and Judy gave lessons on how to keep a house full of kids in line, sooo no quiet moments and that's always ok with me..

Lunch time, going to $$$ store, still can't find bags of snow, put the snow you buy in jars in small containers for you all, sure hope no air gets in and hardens it, but I want the flake snow, yikes, not all have their Christmas supplies out..then need baggies so I can make up care packages for kits..lol NOW should I ask if I'm hyper???

Betty yes, I did have a conversation with her about the dog, and she approved, said it would be the best thing for the dog, now on top of the tumors she has mange.

LOL Betty-sized! EVERYONE has their Christmas stuff out around here, they put the Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas stuff up at the same time! It's horrible!!

I would think Crissy that you'd have to do it pretty soon because if she is pregnant the vet won't want to proceed..hard making the decision to do what is best for our furries..


It must be difficult Crissy having Halloween and then less than 1 month, Thanksgiving and again Christmas..at least ours is space well enough that you can take time to enjoy each holiday..

Nope, nothing at the store I was at, she told me if I came back Monday likely they'd have it, ooops too late then..I'm sure in amongst my boxes I've one full of the supplies I'm looking for so tonight I'll go on a scavenger hunt!

Betty, it is horrible having all 3 looped together like that....and with my poor planning...have three daughters birthdays in between all of those! WHAT Was I thinking! We had 1 birthday Oct. 27...next Nov. 13, then...Dec. 11th.

I got back from my skills test about 3/4 of an hour ago. Phew!! One of the words they put in the proofreading was "Forbears" and I know there's an "E" after the first "R". I also put "forebearers"..... which is WRONG - should be "forebears" siiiiiiiiiiigh.

I also did the Excel test and asked ahead of time if she wanted me to put anything extra in, or just follow the instructions. She said to put in exactly what was asked, and their answer showed Grand Totals but they didn't ask for a Grand Total column in the instructions..... She said she'd tell them this, and she didn't think it would impact anything, that it was simply to see if I could navigate in Excel....... which I proved I could. I also told her formatting was subjective, based on the person it was being done for, and she agreed.

Betty did you find snow?

Yes, got home and went through a box and there were 3 bags along with sparkles that the stores didn't have yet..the boys were here 'shrink wrapping' the boat, took 3 hrs. and boy was Greg cold when he went home..

Just drove in saw they were working on the boat so got my rubber boots out, I know there is a hole in them, boy was that pond water cold..Greg told me to wait and he'd get the pump out but he was busy and there was ice on it already, it had to come out tonight !! After a hot bath I felt almost human, that sitting water was awfully swampy.. Didn't play bingo tonight, too busy sitting filling zip lock bags with all the goodies needed for the project.

Susan I must have been in the pond when you called, sorry I missed it..yep, not a telephone talker but I do love it when you call and we gab, so please don't stop..just know that we're 2 hrs. difference lol

I'm sure you've done well on both tests, did they mention what will happen now?? Was the lady who gave the test nice?

Well, haven't eaten supper yet, took out a roast beef dinner out, going to eat then off to bed, rather get up early/early and do what is needed to finish project..

Tried to talk Greg into staying and eating as well but he said there were things to do at home and Melanie had his supper waiting. Just as glad because most likely I'd fall asleep on him.

Before it gets too late, have to call Cathy and see if she can feed the furries this weekend as Rose is heading home...hope she can or I won't be crossing the border!!!

Hey Mary, yes, Dad got to see the grandson, and great grandkids for a bit! he was tickled pink. And my youngest sons girlfriend is due in June of next year!

I have a grandson that is 6, and I have a granddaughter that is 11. I also have a step grandson, that is 12, and a step granddaughter that is 3. The new one will make 5 in June!
Sorry, no pictures, by the time my son got to the airport to pick us up, it was late, and we were tired. Kids were all crashed in the car.

Linda Kay shrink wrapping protects boat from the bad weather.I do not have one but see it done all around us. They wrap the whole thing in heavy plastic and then use hot dryers to shrink the plastic around the boat. We watched an episode on Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe .

Morning, dropping in only for a second, been wrapping kits for workshop and didn't realize it was so late..omg..might even have to leave a few dishes in the zinc, will I survive the day..lol

Yep, shrink wrap protects the boat from winter elements more better still no critters can get inside..

Here's a photo just before they start with the torch to shrink this special plastic..costly but well worth it when you don't have an indoor area to store..

Will take photo tonight and show you how cozy the boat is inside..

Betty, not going to the craft show after all. Some stuff has come up that is throwing a wrench into the racket.....so just meeting up with you Friday morning as of right now. I was a bit disappointed about helping the "craft lady". Got me over there and then got "oh I have to do this, no this is for me too....well, don't know what I can get you to do." So after 30 minutes of chatting...I came back home. She said she would call when ready to load and needed more help.

I know I won't be cooking beans for awhile. Been two days and and they are still stinking up my house!! I have been burning candles, put some vanilla & cinnamon in a pot to cook.....cleaned with lemon, NOTHING. Kids walk in and "Mom, it still stinks!"

AND THEN, last night after dinner....the smoke alarm goes off. DH comes in "second course ready?" I told them they could all eat out!

Having a morning here....my poor dog is having issues. Gotta go put her in the tub.

Just spit out my coffee, too funny, second course, you should have kept that sign for you my friend. Well that wasn't nice of the lady getting you to come over and then NOT keep you working part of the day...yikes, see had you had your passport you could have come help me put packages together for the workshop and help prepare me for the next 2 workshops at the house, we could have eaten out after all, 2 cooks in a kitchen rarely works especially when both 'burn' what they are cooking!

Am hoping you can be at the Christmas Tree Shop..it opens at 8am now I think, plans are to be there around 9a.m....I'd best take your address for your box just incase you cannot make it, no pressure, but it's always nice to give you a big old hug and you'd get to meet my crazy friends...that's worth the ride..lol
