Would you believe it has started to hail..was outside setting light's on the ground for ambiance..lol..and I could feel something hitting me, yep, hail!!
Mary, wouldn't it be something if one day they are the step-mom, omg they'll be calling you daily to apologize for their bad behavior..
Glad Stacey as well that Jonathan's great grandfather got to see him..thinking of all of you, difficult time I'm sure!
Well if you guys don't have the hangover, bet I know who does...big time LOL...
You trust me Debbie with the GPS??? do you never learn! Your son is gorgeous, what a hunk, bet the gals were disappointed he's a priest.
Apple crisp, yummy in the tummy, I'll have one if you promise to have one of my apple cinnamon muffins..
I was shopping yesterday after hockey and purchased 10 plastic t.v. dinner containers with lids..I was so impressed by how tasty my turkey ones were (from Thanksgiving) and how I enjoy coming home and having a home cooked meal ready for me that I bought a big roast, in the oven and will make a few tonight..next cooking endeavour will be spaghetti..
Between keeping an eye on the roast, on the pond so I don't burn the motor out and wanting to do the proto-type for the workshop I'm hoping I'll remember to check on all..
Break's over, no rest for the wicked...ahhh my witch is saying "witch is in"..lol
Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!Just Gab'n

LOL Betty - that would be a Dream for me !
Crissy - "Wardrobe malfunction" LOL! Glad you had a good time...
Debbie those street names tickled me.... I'm being bad....
Betty a ROAST ! YUM! That's what I was thinking about cooking but then DH took out some chicken... DS LOVES his BBQ Chicken... so I'll save my cooking day for another time... colder temps are making me feel like cooking...
Belle is asleep under my computer...
Be Back soon.....
Yum love to have a muffin Betty.
My exerpience has not been with a GPS Lordy don't let my DH near one of them BUT...... Google Map and Directions if it had had its way would have led us on a merry goose chase a couple of times.Yesterday's excursion just reaffirmed my DH cannot read a map or can read it but can't write the directions down correctly. He has to write it down as he cannot remember them as soon as he has read them.
Grrrrrrrr Betty are you still having problems with Bell Internet? For the last couple of days I will be reading or posting and get bumped bacak to the MSN Home Page. Sometimes I can get back to what I was doing but others it is lost out there in nowhere land.Wondering if it is just something particular to me or if other Bell customers are experiencing it.
Sure glad you took extra clothes Crissy - hate to hear about your wardrobe malfunction on MSN news. Glad you had a blast - I love to dance too!
Snowing here - it is a wet snow but still there are those dreaded white flakes in the air. I do mind winter snow - well to a point, it is not as damp as this percipitation and not as hard on my arthritis.
Going to read by the woodstove for a bit. BBL
Dianne
Good afternoon!!
and Happy Halloween............Boo to all.
Yep we did in fact go to the Game, and what a great game.LOL, was fun to watch my boy # 78 stand at the sideline!! Kept hoping they would put at least a few of the sophs in, but they didn't. At any rate it's great experience to be there for the young ones.
Our guys won the game!!! Plus, all the varsity games the band goes. And for someone who doesn't know much about football, I was the best cheerleader...Don't think Jacob saw us, But, a few of his Varsity buds did. Anyways, next game is at home so maybe then the sophs can play..
Well the party was a blast...Betty, we do not throw the party, our good friends do. Was kind of small turnout this year, but as usual, had "Boodles" of fun. LOL, I ended up being a space clown, easy peasy, just added an anteni and wahla!!
Betty, recognize my anteni??
LOL, you probably can't really see it...Geesh, i swear this girl has a crystal ball, Again we were the same thing, only she was scary, i don't do scarey....Yay, next year no theme, just be sure to dress up!
Well,I got to catch up reading the posts, We just got home, DH already off on bike ride, brrr too cold for me and I always hand out the candies, should be starting soon! LOL, Breenie going trick or treating, told her she had to wear a costume, so she is going as Jakes Baked potatoe! And he is going as a Lighting or something...Tonight they all are going to this haunted house, suppose to be so scary that IF you make it all the way through you get your money back!
Loved the photo's am so laughing..tell Steve he looks great..yikes, when I saw you headress though you might have plucked the birdie..
Dianne, chilled to the bones here as well, Kyle spent the afternoon, said it was 110 degrees in the living room so turned down the fireplace and now, wow, it's cooolllddd..yep, snow here as well.
GPS, think Dianne and ask Debbie and Crissy to confirm, you can get into mega trouble if you rely solely on it..problem is if you are in one area about 10 miles from where you want to go and key in 'highway' drive then it will take you to the next major highway and then back in, could be a 2 hr. drive
Crissy had the right idea when she visited, have the gps AND look at the map, most likely you'd not go astray using both ..
Most likely why our legs/backs are giving us the what for, all that dampness so I put the dehumidifier on, think I'll leave it going all winter as it is damp downstairs and that's where I spend most of my time.
Have fun all at the haunted houses..my family said they really enjoyed going to my brothers' last night..he guessed it right, I was too old and it was well past my bedtime 7:30pm and good excuse for me not going..I'll have to get even with him for those comments.
Kyle was here for the afternoon, I realized I was out of dog/cat food, said 'I'll be right back' he asked if I wasn't forgetting something, said no (had my wallet) said do you always leave the stove on when you leave..oh yes, potatoes and carrots for the t.v. dinners.. well all survived, I made 8 large t.v. dinners, letting them cool then in the freezer they go.
Starting to get darker and colder, would imagine the trick or treaters will be out early tonight, Kyle said he'd come back in dark clothing to scare people, got to get my fogger out BUT I did have one good looking and talented fellow at my door...
Michael Jackson...ta da...
He told me that when he did Thriller he rolled up his sleeves...
Who would have thunk it..lol
Wow, Michael Jackson is Great!! So is Debbie's Priest. hmmm wondering what movie that is.
Susan, be great to see your photo's, costumes sounds great. Your Banner is fantastic!!
Crissy, love to dance as well, I am glad you got all the stuff you wanted done, whew isn't it great?
Had the whole family on the roof yesterday, they were doing a sealer thing.
While Anthony and I sifted stone...So sweet Anthony fix my sifter and continued working on it after i left! He did a real nice job too.
LOL, Had our first Halloween bunch, Friends of Breenie's! And they did dress up, A lobster, a vampire and mom was a witch!
Breenie is waiting on her other friend, then they will all link up...She changed her mind and decided on a pumpkin, cute!
ROFLOL, Anthony was a girlie girl last night, grr no pictures, Told him he will have to dress up again.
Debbie, it's amazing how kids can just keep going, work, fun and works again, makes me tired just thinking about it.
Dianne, wow you and DH Read lots! Thats great, my mom and sister always read a ton of books and then they would discuss them!
Yikes you all have snow??? Brrrrr.
LOL, Crissy, Love to dance too, even if i have to sing my own song...Was Monster Mashing around and oops, pants fell off!!
ROFLOL, what a crazy nut...
Loved the photo's am so laughing..tell Steve he looks great..yikes, when I saw you headress though you might have plucked the birdie..

You did AWESOME on that costume, Betty!
Waving to all, been quite the weekend, this old gal is tired!
Kyle came over and put the sound system outside and connected it to his laptop so that there would be scary music, not sure why he didn't like my Christmas sounds system attached to the house that makes all the light flash to the music..got a kick out of him, there are about 8 plugs to my system so he connected all his speakers etc to it and it kept going off,on,off,on, played with it for an hour when it dawned on me, anything connected in my system flashed to the Christmas Carols that I had turned down low so my light would flash..looked so pretty outside!
Had about 75 trick or treaters at my door, Kyle would go out the back door when he'd see them come and do some screeming or touching their leg so he could see their horror..
Got to tell you, some peoples kids, MANNERS left at home for sure..gave out mini-chocolate bar, bag of chips and they could pick either a coke/pepsi or ginger ale, a few of the little ones said they didn't like my kind of pop, a few asked if they could have more, few came back more than once..later in the evening the older kids came out, asked what they were because they were NOT dressed, most said 'homeless' one said a 'drug addict' (I thought he might have been) but other than that lots of costumes..
Too tired to post photo tonight that I took of Noah and his friends..too cute, one was a pregnant lady and attached to his stomach was a little doll to represent the baby..some kids have imaginations..
Waving to all, need to get to bed..
Betty, it sounds like a fun night for you.
Ours was a bust! I kid you not! We normally are non-stop handing out candy. As I said before, on a slow night we get 150...normal is 300+. Tonight, I bet we didn't get but 50-60 tops! The last few got a LOT of candy to themselves as I refused to keep it all here...I will just eat it.
Jeanna and Joe ended up coming over, we had pizza and some donuts and cider later on. They left at 8:00.
Everyone is in bed already.....and I am heading up. Was up til 3:00 a.m. last night waiting for Shane to get home and then up at 7:30 this morning...so I am tired!
Sweet dreams, I hope everyone had a safe night and fun!
Debbie
Wow Betty... Can't believe you got a picture of Michael Jackson himself ! (It looks an awful LOT like Noah though !)
We only got about 19 kids this year... not like years past... wish we had a lot...
I had fun with the few we had... One young man was in Army Gear... so I Thanked him for his service to our country... and when he went running back to parents... I heard him yell "She told me THank you for my service to my country !" ROFLOL !
So sorry Betty that folks have to put up with those bad older kids and poorly mannered kids... My MIL called ... she had a few like that... definitely older than 14.. and she said 6' tall... with hands out ....
They live in an older neighborhood and I worry about them... having been broken into several times....
Hey Maggie - glad you found us !
Judy - THose pics are hilarious ! Love the clown costumes... scary and funny clowns all scare me... LOL
SKittles is just a gorgeous colorful thing ! :)
BRB,
Mary
Night Debbie ! Light night here too... I think folks are just scared to trick or treat like the old days... so sad... I remember some good times running around ...safer back then...
Geaux Saints !
ok - got a bit of news. I emailed, on the 29th, to the job I interviewed to on the 22nd, and they were to get back to me on the 29th.
One of the interviewers emailed me back last night:
"Hi Susan
My apologies for the delay in response to you. We had been travelling most of the week and returned to the office Friday.
We would like you to proceed to the next step in our process which includes a peer interview and will try to arrange this for early next week. This interview will likely be over the phone. Are there times that work best for you?
In addition can you confirm we have your references. We use Back Check to conduct reference checks and I will forward you a form to fill out so we can get this process started."
I'd given them 3 letters of recommendation, and a further 2 names to contact should they wish. In my email, I resent those names & letters. I told them Mon & Tues am would be best for the peer interview. After all, I don't want to be sitting around all day waiting for them. As I know there's nothing to worry about with the recommendations, as I see it this is just a confirmation, and I'm just waiting for when I start...... hope it's soon!!
Hey Susan -
Sounds really good... just formalities perhaps ? If it is a large company or govt maybe they have red tape and stuff like that...
Sounds like just a few more hoops to jump through and you are IN !
Hugs,
Mary
yes, it's a large corporation. Health agency for the entire province, and it will be for the HR dept - Executive Assistant for two of the big-wig ladies.
I'm IN, just have one more hoop, and the contacting of my references. That's always a "lead pipe cinch" cuz they're really happy to give me great references, and they're all current.
Well .... CONGRATULATIONS SUSAN !!!! ♪♫♪♫ I know "You Got This" but just need to be patient....
Hugs
What great news to wake up to Susan, hopefully you'll be back in the workforce in a few weeks..
Slept in this morning and am moving rather slowly, what a weekend so going to give you all a 'wave' and I'll see you when I get to the office
One photo..here is Noah with friends..take a look at the pregnant lady 'tummy' lol
Judy-that guy is the Silver Surfer from the 2nd Fantastic Four movie.....
Last night we all gathered at SIL house and looked through Grandpa's old albums-he even had letters that Chris's siblings had written him over the years-some in crayon. It was nice to see the pics and read the letters. The viewing went well, but I couldn't go up the the coffin. This is my 1st funeral since I was 5 and I just couldn't do it-it was creepy and I expected him to sit up and start talking to us all and asking for hugs. Of course Jonathan has gotten passed around like you wouldn't believe and Chris is trying to get his work to forgo his last week of training as the place he was supposed to go is having some serious issues and he more than likely won't learn anything there....
Lots of memories, Stacey - good to find them and go over everything - especially the crayoned letters LOL
I'm rather excited about my news...... now, it's time to "hurry up and wait" LOL
Susan, congratulations! Ohhhh fingers and toes crossed for you! Waiting is so very hard.
I was up at 3:30 this morning...and am ready to crash again. My schedule is all screwed up! lol
Love the pictures Betty!
Judy, I thought you would dress up! lol Everyone looks great! I was wondering if the guy in silver was trying to be from Avatar....forgot about the Fant. Four movie.
Needing coffee
Debbie
yeah, waiting is difficult, but I don't expect to wait and Not get good news. I will wait and
Get Good News, which is Much, Much nicer!
Positive attitude that what you have to have and you've got that..hearing the words 'you are hired' is the next step..
Brrr. it's 31 and freezing outside, even in the office it's below what it should be, have my trusted micro heater on, just starting to feel my fingers now.
Debbie, we should be travelling somewhere together, both our sleeping habit are off kilter, just think of the miles we could put in before 8a.m. heading south to a warmer climate..yikes, know what coming here.. do you think it's partially our never stopping for rest time, always thinking of what we have to do next that our minds just can't stop functioning or perhaps we just don't need a lot of sleep..
I've mega things to do in the next 3 days, no couch sleeping at 7:30 for me..likely 11pm bed time if I want everything done...
With leaving early of Friday morning I have to pack all the workshop kits ready for mailing, don't have the flat rate boxes, only a few so will figure out how to pack/tape so that once I get to Buffalo I can just put the package in a box..today I could make out all the address labels, that would save me mega time as well..
Betty, I do think that is part of my problem, I just can't turn my brain off and it is in hyper drive right now. I even tried to curl up on the couch and nap, but it didn't happen. If I look in the mirror...I honestly know "I need the sleep", scared myself! lol
Judy look at them! How FUN!!! LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!!! Dave caught me dancing in the kitchen with no music except for what was in my head.
Betty now that's one rotten cat! LOL
Stacey big big hugs for you, I always love going through old stuff like that, I'll have to tell you the story about what we found when my grandfather passed away, after lunch....
Stacey, know my thought are with you and Janice today! Bet Jonathan brought sunshine to many at the wake..always nice to go through photo albums, many a cherished moment captured on film..too bad we're all computerized now, was far more fun to sit and go through them one by one, seeing all the different types of film..
Oh Debbie, know exactly how you are feeling, my mind will be full speed ahead until after Christmas..speaking of Christmas, Debbie have you heard of the Christmas Shoppe, N.Y.'s largest on 880 Ridge Road in Lackawana, keep trying to find it on the sistem, it gives me address but not the site..think it's owned by Woyshner's..wouldn't be the shop across on Niagara Falls blvd. - directly in front of Kohl's...doubtful, because that would have a Niagara Falls Blvd. address! hmmm
Betty, try googling "Daves Christmas Store" they have a HUGE Christmas selection also, I believe on Union Ave . My Mom loved this place. http://www.christmascentral.com/content/pages/daves-christmas-video
Also, there is one down by me....which is incorporated into a Train Shop, however they are quite pricey. Ridge Road Station, Ridge Road, Holley, NY its about 25 minutes past me going towards Rochester. Mostly collectible ornaments, houses....along with tons of unique toys
http://www.ridgeroadstation.com/
I can't find a site for the Christmas Shoppe, just what you said.
Thanks for the link to Daves' going to add it to my list..
When going on the Hamburg craft site it had an add, said it was New York's largest Christmas Shoppe (what it's called) and is at 880 Ridge Road, Lackawana..maybe I best bring the GPS..
Are you all sleeping...shhhh best I not wake you
I'm here!!
Just had a call from AHS (Alberta Health Services) - they're asking me to do the peer interview @ 9:30 tomorrow morning, then want me to drive to the office to do a Proofreading test and an easy-peasy basic excel test - they take 10 minutes each.
siiiiiiiiiigh she said I'm Almost at the end. I had to send in a consent form for them to contact my references...... it's done, too.
Hi Betty and All!!
LOL, sorry not sleeping, my every waking hour is going to be sewing!!
Finally figured out the holly leaves for my project, so I am back to sewing night and day!
What have you been doing to keep busy Betty, crocheting, sewing, painting, or lol resting with a good movie?
Your kids looks great for halloween!
My day ended at 9:30 last night, slept good..in between running, laundry and sew, sew sew!
Yippeeee, Susan!!! Good for you.
Woo Hoo Susan!! Good for you!!!!!
Not sleeping here either, I'm working ppppttttthhhhhhhhhhhhhh
ok - peer interview tomorrow @ 9:30, then they need me to go to the office and take a proofreading test and a basic excel test....... siiiiiiiigh.... well, she said it was almost over!!
Oh, and I signed a "Back Check" consent form for them to contact my references.
No sleeping here either....
Meatloaf in the oven, along with squash cassarole and some beans on the stove. And of course, no one is home to eat them! Forgot DH was giving a platelets donation on way home, which takes two hours.
My cell phone apprears to have "bit the dust" and no messages coming in or going out....Shane is at friends house. Sent "text" telling me...but I never rec'd it...so started calling friends when he was an hour late.
Had a run in with "the mouthy child" and she is now off at school til 9:00.
Not much else happening but it sure is cold out! Took Izzy out, without a coat...thinking sun was shining, can't be bad. WRONG!
Susan, way to go....ohhh Excel is my nemisis...I hate it! Can do it "my own way" but not the way they want in testing. Grrr!
Debbie
I love MS office programs, with the exception of Access!! Now That is my nemisis!!!
Most of the companies I've tested with Excel will allow 3 different ways to do an action - keyboard shortcuts, icon, or file/edit/view menu.
Debbie - what's "your" way?
