happ, KW was salad plate size...lol He might have grown into a dinner plate with more sun. This is a cozy room for me too. Sorta makes me feel like we're all in a van driving cross-country, yapping the whole way, stopping at fabric stores and greenhouses to check out blooms, and loading up plants. Oh wait, we might need a U-Haul. That's great news about your Mom. Will she be able to stay by herself when she goes home?

fotv, salad plate size, you crack me up, I had to think for a second....rofl. You described this place perfectly, but I think we need to upsize from a uhaul to a semi...rofl. The hospital said she can stay by herself but will have a couple of visiting folks for a short bit. In the hospital there is a workout gym and they have trained staff and they will work with my Mom which you don't find most places, wellll for 25.00 a month I can workout which I need desperately. I drive right by her place on my way home and the hospital which is only about a mile from her, so that is what we are doing this winter, she will probably be lifting 100lb weights at age 86 by the end of this winter....rofl..

This is Southern Belle. She is one that came back from last year. Just settings buds. I think the heat plus neglect is the reason mine are so slow in blooming. I know I didn't feed & water them often enough .

O Boy I heard that....COME ONNNNNNNNNNN

This will be a beautiful sight if all these Trumpets will bloom at one time. Please, no frost. so many of these are full of buds.

evening all well I was just to depressed over the out come of the test to come post , but after a nap & Getting super over with Here i'am just to say I Cannot QUALIFY For their treatment To Help my vein problems for the INJECTIONs They use can cause More Clots to my body.

WOW you all. I'm gone for the day and you have been busy. Took a surprise trip to visit my Dad. He is doing pretty well all things considered. My Mom was tickled to see me on such short notice and we had a great time talking about plants and food and all that good stuff. Managed to do a few little things around the house for them and drove back home. I'm pooped tonight.

Susie sorry to hear about the detour. I can only imagine how frustrated you must be with this. Try to take care of yourself, because I'm betting there is no one there to do it for you. :0)

Faye I will have some brug cuttings heading your way the beginning of the week. Some have names and the rest have names too, I just don't know which is which. :0) Nothing exotic except Maya.

Fruit Loop the kitties are the best. Yesterday afternooon when I got home DH was making coffee and we went out back to sit for a few. The kids were playing in the woods and they have been exploring this hollow tree behind the fence. Well I turn around and there they were. Had to run for the camera, and didn't get a good pic, but you can see they conquered the tree! Climbed up the middle and came out on top proud as punch.

Awww they looked right at the camera. :) Cute!

We had hard frost last night. Had to scrape the windows of the car this morning.....so sad, there went what blooms I had. Suppose to be in the 60's and 70's all weekend so should get a lot done. I have (had) another reblooming iris starting up hopefully it made it.

Deejay you need some good news dag nab it......so is there another game plan? A nap and cookies always help if I am depressed, but ya gotta smile kiddo it is just a bump in that rocky road but push on there is bound to be smoother road ahead it is just finding it.

Henderson NC just 19 hours from me.....and some really pretty country inbetween. Get our little Texan to come up, our Snowbird to come south and have our Sunflower come on east to get me and we will start east and just pick ya all up along the way....with a bus and a semi to following for all the plants...rofl.

FOTV, Kentucky isn't terrible far from me......depending on where the ru is....are you thinking of going?

Love the kitties, my cat climbs the tree that overhangs the house and roams around on the roof of the house away from the dogs. Kind of freaks people out when they come over and she is laying in the gutters meowing at them.

Hello everyone, Gosh, I have goose bumps all over me just reading your words about the hours and miles to my house. Golly gee..I truly wish you were all coming,I could cry just thinking about it. OH happy tears of course. Now I know it is a LONGGGGG way for some of you, but just think of how much fun we are going to have and that trip will be well worth it. Dreaming here!
Susie I went to the Vein Clinic all lat year and still have the tiny spider veins at my knees and ankles.
Sure wish you could have gone, it made a world of difference to me. Susie, when I cut my trumpets back I will be glad to send you all you want. I will cut them the length to fit a med. or large flat rate box if this is ok with you.
Debra, another boo hoo.....Snow Queen Hibiscus didn't make it. This one I hate to lose.

Kentucky's RU is a 3-day affair each September. Don't know if the location next year will be the same as it has been in past years at Prizer Point KOA Campground.

Susie we built that fence by ourselves. I dug all the posts in and cemented them and DH did the rest. We did that when we got our dog 7, almost 8 years ago now. Neither one of us could believe what a difference it made. We never used the back yard. Now we are out there all the time.

Frost tonight and leaves falling everywhere. I hope that by the time I get the sweeper hooked up on Monday I can still plow through them all. It is windy here like crazy.

Maggie I love peanut butter too. Anything with peanut butter. I can't imagine having a peanut allergy. I would have to shoot myself.

I made an apple fruit cake this morning in the vitamix. Whizzed up this awesome, healthy batter and then baked it. Have a little clean frosting to put on it that tastes like a cheesecake. Can't wait for dessert!

Anything that tastes like cheesecake sounds good too!!! I love food!

PEANUT BUTTER SHEET CAKE

BAKE 350* ON A GREASED COOKIE SHEET

IN MIXING BOWL COMB:
2 C SUGAR & 2 C. FLOUR

BRING TO BOIL :
1 C WATER 1 C OLEO
1/4 tsp SALT 3/4 C PEANUT BUTTER

POUR OVER SUGAR & fLOUR ADD
1/2 C SOUR MIKE I JUST ADD VINIGAR TO REG MILK TO SOUR IT
1 tsp SODA
2 EGGS BEATEN

MIX ALL WELL POUR INTO COOKIE SHEET LET COOL & FROST .


FROSTING
BRING TO BOIL : 3/4 C OLEO , 3/4 C PEANUT BUTTER , 1 tsp VANILLA , 6 TBS MILK ,
POUR OVER 1LB BOX OF POWDER SUGAR

USUALLY TAKES ABOUT 8-10 TBS OF MILK :) TO MAKE IT CREAMY .

Oh my goodness, I am now drooling on the keyboard. I love food and especially peanut butter and anything apple. Those kittens on the tree are absolutely fantastic. OKAY I HAVE TO VENT.. You can now go to the restroom or feed the dog or something as I do this..I just came home from Emporia to bring College Girl home, after a HORRIBLE day at work, that even made me CRY at work, while I stomped around the back of the car lot smoking a cig, and then I just LEFT. I do not understand why people can't do what they say they are going to do. I called MY Direct Boss and told him I would see him in the am, ( I have to work tomorrow) and he said" okay , Deb" I told my Joe that my bonus money just went out the window that I have been working so hard for all month ( based off of customer satisfaction numbers and surveys) and I turn the unhappy people around to being happy, and then they changed the process to the Service Manager making the first call after the phone interview results, and he puts it off, tells me he left a message, and then when I call the customer, they say no one called them and they sent in their survey? Oh I am Steaming!!!! In the past, I called within 24 hours of the phone interview that I got the results for.. that way I had time to keep a bad survey from coming in.. well..Service Manager Boy and I are gonna have a little talk come Monday.. It is only 500.00 dollars, but that is alot of money for me, that is my plant money, my car payment, and my "help the kids" money. I don't make 100k a year like this little twerp does, and he is still in his 20s maybe 30 if that..

That is just flat-out not right, Debra. $500 is a sack full of moolah, and you worked too hard to let it fly out the window.

Hubby just came in from hunting. Muzzleloader season opened and for the past several weeks he's been sighting in his guns, staking out buck rubs, putting up tree stands, and talking "big buck" to the neighbors he's hunting with. It was so nice and quiet around here...got the bed linens changed, did two loads of laundry, and worked on a swap. There was a tad of frost this morning so it's time to lift the EE's :(

What a zoo today in town. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine when I left after lunch it would be 5 before I got back home. Major grocery shopping list but before tackling it, I went searching for a new office chair so desperately needed. Our office supply store wanted $120 for the pneumatic chair I really liked, so comfy but what major sticker shock, said forget that, and walked out the door. Then I hit Goodwill, my favorite haunt to look for pots and unusual planters, and lo-and-behold, there was the same exact chair new with tags for $30! Talk about a co-inky-dink and scarfed it up in a heartbeat. My big whoop of the day...lol The sporting goods dept at Wally World was a madhouse, hubby needed some kind of deer "scent off" he sprays from head to toe. I felt like a fish out of water not wearing Camo and being the only female in the aisle. The trick-or-treaters were in full force picking out last-minute costumes, had to wade though the kiddos to get to the craft dept. Then I made a quick stop at Lowe's and scored 4 new planters on sale and, well you guessed it, couldn't resist picking up a few new plants that needed rescuing. I was pooped by the time I unloaded the car, copped out and baked a pizza for supper.

I'm going to try your Peanut Butter sheet cake, Susie, sounds easy and yummy. Did you save Maggie and me a piece of that apple fruit cake, Neener?

DH made some blueberry muffins while I made some salsa out of all the tomatoes.. what a great night. I asked him if we cold stay in tonight, we usually go out on a date every Saturday night. College girl is getting dressed up to go to a party, she looks so cute, as a Vampire Killer LOL. Dug up Ruby Glow Passion Vine, cut it back and potted it up with the Carolina Jasmine. Hope they get along this winter..

Afternoon Everyone house is back to Normal Nice & Quiet :) Even sweetpea has calmed down :) from all the kids wanting to pet her till she chased them around the yard :) she had a ball with them . & They with her :)

susan : Once you make it , It will be the only cake for big parties you make :) It also freezes very nicely. I Don't think there is enough let to freeze , by time i sent 6-8 bars with each Family :)

my Computor Geek Nephew couldn't make it today so guess i better go work on my seed robin you all have a great day .

We look forward to attending our neighbor's Christmas party each year and think your Peanut Butter sheet cake will be a hit, sure beats the veggie & cheese trays I've made in the past. They have an old-fashioned party with extended family, about 40 folks. Everybody brings a dish for the a pot-luck supper and afterward we play a game for the gifts everyone's brought to exchange. It's just hubby and I and feel so fortunate our neighbors think enough of us to include us in their family tradition. Are you having computer problems again?

As usual, my MIL didn't answer her phone today, so who knows if we're still on tomorrow to get new tires for her car. Wednesday I'm meeting another DG'er to deliver a kitten and Friday I'm taking hubby to his dr appt. My week's pretty much shot in the foot before it ever gets here. We live in the boonies and it takes the better part of an hour to get to any decent size city or have a cool place to shop.
