Crissy, will she ride the scooter though or will she misbehave and try walking on the foot! Lordy, she sure has been having a time of it hasn't she..how wonderful that he will talk to you, most won't.
Ann just dropped in with tomorrow nights t.v. bingo cards, was in a hurry, Mike was waiting for her in the car. Tomorrow they are off to see Mike's mom, she's been losing ground rather quickly, called Ann today and told her the home was kicking her out and she had nowhere to live, Ann told her not to worry, everything had been looked after, she told Ann she was an angel for looking after her. The re-arranged her room last week and she can't figure you how come all her photo's are in everyone's rooms (still her room) so Ann/Mike think they'd best go and check up on her. They haven't told her about Mike's cancer being as it is, no sense in having her fret even more.
Well, it's time for me to call it a night
Hope all is well in your world...
As I say my prayers, will think of all your needs..
night/night
Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!
Oh man-if you think your gardens look bad you should see mine-I just gave up on the weeds a long time ago and they took over a couple of beds-I just couldn't get out and pull them with the heat and being pregnant:(
Betty-we don't have a video camera:( Maybe someday we will get one. Jonathan's progress is great-he just needs to get the feeding thing down to come home. He has reached every other goal they had for him. They do track hius feeding and the nurse is the one with access to the food, so Chris and I are not doing dbl feedings;)
Crissy-LOL about Tiga and the food-Jade won't eat unless she has a full bowl-like she is too good to put her face into hers at all;) Ouch-sorry to hear about your mom!!
Susan-be patient-some places take a couple weeks to get back to people...
Copied and pasted:
Jonathan is up to 5lbs, 12oz, so every day he has gained 1/4-3/4 lb and will soon be over 6lbs:) It was funny yesterday I was holding him and could feel him pooping-then the smell hit and I started laughing at the fact that someone so small could make such a stinkie. Waited to change him til it was bath time (about a half hr) and when I took the diaper off there was so much and it was SOOO super stinky I started laughing again. We got that changed and then I gave him a bath-tried to hurry since he doesn't like it-the nurse gave him a binkiw so he wouldn't cry the entire time-worked well too. Then I put one of his onesies from home on him and tried to breastfeed-he just kept looking at me like "Mom-what are you doing sticking this thing in my face" and after a couple of minutes we decided it wasn't happening-I think he was too tired after then bath. The Dr upped him to 48 ML and added a multi vitamin and iron to his daily diet. The night nurse fed him every other time from the bottle and he took about 25ml each time which is what he took from me for his first feeding as well. He was so pooped after the bath we did the feeding tube for the 2nd one. I haven't posted all the pics so if anyone wants to see more, here is the link again:
http://picasaweb.google.com/Fairy1004/Jonathan?feat=directlink
he's such a SUGAR, is our Jonathan!!
Stacey - no, they won't be getting back to me for this job (although I have hopes there are others at the college). They would have gotten back to me yesterday if I'd gotten "short-listed" for the job - that's what they told me.
Oh-sorry Susan-I just know some places take their sweet time:(
You can call him sugar and I will still call him Mr. Stinkybottoms!!LOL
hahahahahaha well, he looks sweet enuff to eat, but it's a good thing I don't have a good sense of smell LOL (I really don't!!!)
Stacey he's too adorable for words...lordy he looks like you!!!
At the rate he's going he just might make it home on the weekend or shortly thereafter..he's so tiny, you've taken to motherhood, you don't sound panicked at all, am sure I'd be.
Sorry that you didn't get called Susan. Lord is looking for something special for you!
Storm passed through my region early this morning, the thunder and rain just made me want to cuddle into the flannel sheets and spend the day, stayed an hour longer and then was angry at myself for doing so, could have finished my 2 quilt blocks had I not played lazy
thank you, Betty
Susan, sorry you did not ge the job, but keep your chin up, you have that perfect job out there just waiting for you!
Crissy, how is your Mom getting around with the boot? Hope she is not in too much pain!
Morning Betty! How is work going? Are you going to get your home office? Sorry to hear about Mike's Mom! Must be hard for Anne, to take care of her and Mike? So sorry to hear about the horse getting hit also. Don't know how the guy was able to take off after hitting the horse, they can do a lot of damage to a vehicle.
ah well...... there's another job out there for me. Hopefully one I can retire from.....
Betty LOL it sounds like in my post that I talked to the dr, but I didn't, that's what she told me that he said. She will ride the handicapped scooter because she thinks it's fun, when she could sit she rode it every time they went somewhere for a weekend trip or whatever. LOL!!
She says her foot doesn't really hurt much at all now, but before she broke it she was having severe muscle cramps in the top of her foot because of that nerve that's swollen or damaged or whatever, she said that when she broke it the muscle cramps stopped, if that's not the weirdest thing I've ever heard.
Just wanted to copy and paste the email my boss just sent out, apparently Twitter has been hacked.
"Anyone checking twitter.com this morning was probably greeted with a mess of JavaScript, mouseover effects, and spam retweets, after a flaw in the site's handling of hyperlinks allowed attackers to inject scripts into Twitter's pages. The mere act of visiting the site with scripting enabled was sufficient to cause exploitation. Payloads ranged from the harmless—tweets with a black background—to the more malicious—redirection to porn sites."
Susan Dave didn't get the job at Kohler's either, he thinks it was because he requested higher pay, that is normal for the position but they company probably doesn't want to pay that much. I told him to not worry about it, he doesn't want to sell himself short of what he's worth.
Do you all go on 'twitter' ? I don't even go on Facebook anymore, got a virus here at work and think that's where I got it some time ago, I chat on MSN, to me it's quite safe, DG is where I stay...home of friendship I call it!
How did the trip go LindaKay, bet it was nice spending time with the grandchildren..how did you make out with your appt. re back? New meds, anything further they can do to help with pain..won't be long you'll be off in that new vehicle to pick up your dad...
Crissy, guess as long as unemployment is still in effect Dave doesn't have to consider minimum pay jobs or close to...how long do you in USA get on U.I.? here I believe it's almost 1 year...
Hope your mom is resting and not roadrunning..if she overdoes she's sure to do damage..
He's on his second extension that expires Christmas Day because he was let go from Hawker Beechcraft, which is addressed as a special issue because they let go of over 1000 people in a 6 month period. He gets another extension at that time because he is a Military Vet. He spoke to someone the other day who is on his 4th extension from Hawker and he's not a Military Vet, so there's more to come. If he takes less pay he won't be doing that high stressed job, that's ridiculous.
I'm sure he's concerned though, thank goodness they've made special allowances for certain major hit areas...is there no sign of the economy getting better?
Betty, I had a wonderful time with the kids!
My Arthritus Doc, says I may have the pre curser to lupus? So I go back in 6 weeks for mor blood work. Meds are the same. Vicadin, flexeril, sleeping pills. I keep telling him I want a pil to make the pain go away, not make me loopy and cover it up! I hate the feeling I get from the pills. I always feel right on the urge of getting sick to my stomach, when I take them.
Some of those meds sure make you nauseated, you got to wonder if sometimes they are not worse than having the pain. I had 2 aunts who had lupus..not sure if it's hereditary or not, seems odd 2 in same family..when I was going to the dr.'s re allergy to sun, it was the 1st thing he checked me for..luckily it was just a sun allergy and only to a certain ray that is strongest in early and late part of the year...
Hard to play with the grandchildren when you are in so much pain...glad you did enjoy though...did you start your sunflower quilt?
Bev, Tubby, Debbie, Laura, need to know you are all ok..sending prayers and hugs..
This message was edited Sep 21, 2010 12:34 PM
I have not started the quilt yet, I need to get some other quilt squares out of the way, then hopefully by the 1st, I can get the sunflowers cut!
Thank you so much for the fabric. It is amazing that no two are alike!
Yes, lupus is hereditary. My Mom had it, and my Brother has it. Do he is watching my blood test for the markers. He said there are markers that are elevated, and he need to watch for it.
Crissy - perhaps that's why they didn't call me, but they called me in for the initial interview, knowing what my previous pay was.... and they pay less! But not a whole lot less however!
PTL Bev!! Good news, indeed!!!! ^_^
YEAH!!!!! Great to hear that Bev!!!
They asked Dave what his salary requirements are, he told them he made $55K at Hawker Beechcraft as an Expeditor, knowing that a buyer position is a higher paid position as that's his career job. He's thinking he should have just said that it's negotiable, but he didn't because he doesn't want to be working a position that should pay $70K a year but only be making $45K a year, which is exactly what would have happened. He can't sell himself short like that. He still hasn't heard anything about the plastics molding company in Hot Springs, don't know what's happening there and he had that interview in July.
Betty, I am here.
Tubby, your turn...come on out.
Bev, awesome news!
Glad you are coming out, I feel as though I'm an old mother hen worrying about her chicks..
Bev, glad to see you post and that there are no blockages..are you feeling well enough to play in the gardens yet? How's Scotty doing, going to beat Debbie to it and say give him a hug and kiss for me.
Debbie, you feeling a bit better? Know you are hurting..geeze life's got some hard knocks .. did any of you listen to the 2 Joel Olsteen links I posted? Bet you felt better if you did!
The company Crissy that he didn't hear from yet, is that the one he was so positive he might but that the position wouldn't be available for a few months?
LindaKay, nice to get material from DG friends, no 2 being alike..you can let your mind run wild with designing.
This morning I got one block done, 2nd block almost done, maybe 1/2 hr. left and the Christmas quilt block swap is done...even shortened a pair of jeans for Cathy's mom..as soon as I'm done I've got to put the sewing machine away and start planning for all my fall/Christmas workshops..earlier I get started the easier it will be for me!
Betty, how is Rose adjusting to her new place to live? Is she craftingyet? How are you adjusting?
LindaKay, funniest thing, it's like she's always been with me, took her out to Collingwood, Beatles festival on Saturday, Cathy took her on bike trail on Sunday, last night she did her fitness program at night and wasn't home when I got home, out biking, she came in and it was time for me to go to bed while she did homework, this morning I called as I left, I leave at 8am and am her alarm clock..
The girls that we met in Orillia Sat. asked her to join us for the crafting in Meaford if she doesn't go home..this weekend it's home for her, girlfriend is having a birthday party..there really is no difference in my life other than having someone to gab with from time to time..got to tell you, if it stays this way, she can come back anytime..everyone who has met her thinks she's adorable..one of the gang, just ask Kyle lol
Glad to hear she feels at home like that! Does Kyle have a new girl friend?
No girls in his life, so perhaps Rose is filling in temporarily, lol
She is his "cougar" aka the older woman! lol
LOL DEB ! Well Kyle is always SO mature... he probably finds the 14 year old girls to be silly.....
I'll check back in a bit !
Mary
Wow, think I may have beaten Dianne this morning!!!!
Cougar you say Debbie, omg, tell me it aint so...my little Kyle in the hands of an older woman...I'll be watching..lol
Did you 2 northerners, Dianne and Debbie, get the storm that came in about 6:30 last night..what a doozer, went all through the night. Ann came over to play t.v. bingo, arrived just minutes after one heck of a crack, scarred the dickens out of us, power went off for a few minutes, got organized for bingo and they announced that because of so much power outage they would not proceed with bingo.
Had a lovely visit with Ann, Rose joined in as Ann being the lovely lady she is always brings her into the conversation.
Mostly we gabbed about fortune tellers and life after death..quite the conversation with the storm going on..got on that subject because Dannie as a psychic coming a week Friday and a whole bunch of us are going for an evening of laughs (perhaps some might take it seriously, but not I)..
Sailor was having a terrible time last night settling down, the minute she would another crack of lightning would come and up crying she would be, finally at 4:00 a.m. I decided to get up and sew..
Got a large box of fabric from Barb yesterday, you should have heard me oooh, ahhhh, omg..when Ann got here I showed her and she did the same..
I've been working on my last Christmas swap block, then tada, I've complete the swap and 2 months early to boot..anyway, I'm moving blocks and just remembered that in Barb's box there may have been the perfect fabric..
Off I go, about 1/2 hr. of sewing and I'm hoping to get the pkg. off to Barb..
That's how my morning has been going..
Bet you are all dreaming, tucked in safely...enjoy!!!
Betty, there were no storms here....until well after midnight, but they were not here. We had rain, but that was it. The "forecast" for the day says storms predicted for the day, and power is out in Batavia, south of here already.
It is quite warm this morning also. Been in the upper 40's, low 50's for a week now in the mornnig and late evening....but has to be 70 now. Very humid.
Bev-YEAH!!
LOL-Rose is Kyle's cougar!!LOL
Copied and pasted:
Jonathan was a good boy yesterday and took 29ml from the bottle on his first feed and 19ml on his 2nd-the first time he has taken from the bottle for 2 feeds in a row for me:) He has also started to suck with more force-you can hear the sucking now instead of watching for bubbles in his bottle. He got his Hep B shot yesterday and they ordered his circumcision and hearing test so that he will be ready to go once he starts eating better, he will be all set to come home. He is at 5lbs, 13.25oz, so he gained 1.25oz yesterday.
Betty-EVERYONE says he looks like me:) He does have Chris's hands and feet-long fingers, his 2nd toe is bigger than his big toe and his little toe tends to curl under-the first time I saw his feet, his little toe was curled under and I thought he only had 4-I freaked out!!LOL
Lol, about the freaking Stacey, do you know that Jeff was almost a year old when I noticed he had webbed toes, of course he spent 1st 6months in the hospital but still no excuse with me bathing him not to have seen it..Roger found it unbelievable that I hadn't noticed..one of Jeff's boys has web toes as well..hope his wife noticed long before he was 1 year old.
Jonathan is doing fantastic, he'll grow in leaps and bounds now for sure..soon he'll be home.
Debbie, be careful, that storm sure was powerful..much damage in the region, especially Bolton, thousands are without power.
I was up so early this morning that I accomplished much..got the 2 blocks done for Nov. and in the mail..another swap done, washed all the floors, got a birthday present for Bernie wrapped and delievered to his door, he wasn't home so I just set it inside for him to find, picked up Tim Hortons coffee/bagel/yogurt, so I'm ready for the morning.
Betty-that is too funny, but really, who cleans between baby toes-not like they get dirty!!
Susan-I sure wish I didn't have a great sense of smell now;)
Jobs right now are so few and far between that sometimes you have to tale less than you want. Sometimes the compensation in other areas makes up for it and sometimes you can get a review after a little bit and a raise. Plus there are so many people looking for work that if they have 2 candidates they really like applying, they will take the cheaper one every time. My uncle lost his job last year making $75K (company closed), his unemployment was nothing in comparison and his family couldn't afford it, so he took a job in the same capacity for about 1/2 that much. He needed one quickly and he had the experience, but not the education for higher pay. Since he needed the job badly, he took it and hopes to get the education under his belt and then negotiate a higher pay. It sucks, but sometimes that's the way the cookie crumbles. DH had to take a lower paying job when he lost his job here a couple yrs ago too-just the way the economy is right now. Crissy and Susan-I wish you both luck with the search.
Could sure use your prayers for my Mom...she goes to a GI Dr. on Friday.
While you're at it...could use your prayers for Jordyn as well!

SO its you Betty that is sending all these storms our way. Lots of T and L plus torrents of rain.
I was up Betty but putting Murphy's Oil on my French buffet - not that it needed it! lol
Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today everyone.
Off for a walk between the rain storms.
Dianne
Betty - was there any damage from the mega wind storm you had last night? I know you sounded very worried about it - 50 ft trees bending in 1/2 ?!??!?! YIKES
Branches all over the yard, going to do fall clean-up on Sunday if it doesn't rain. It's iffy here, looks like another storm is brewing.
We'd make a good working team Dianne, both enjoy being up before Dawn and getting our work done before 9a.m. Funny on Sunday at 7:30 or so I said to Rose that I was off to bed, she was shocked, said 'but it's only 7:30' and I said 'but I didn't get up at 1:00pm' lol
Hydro had an employee die last night during repair to down lines..sad!
geeze - storms are so scary, and sorry to hear about the hydro employee passing...
