Good Day!
Weekend has been busy and not so busy!! I actually did NOT do any house work...Decided Friday night, since i couldn't run away, I would just not do anything. Shaking my head get tired of doing it all and it never looks like I did anything, when everyone gets moving.
ROFLOL, i did a bigg booboo while spray painting my clock. Not so sure what i was thinking because i painted the face of it! LOL, so took white paint to write the number's on. and the hands! Soooo it actually does look pretty cool, at any rate it IS different.
Oh Betty, how very sad about the Berine and Charlene's horse.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the Beatle fest. whew, lucked out with the rains holding off. Yikes rained buckets here, put my satelight out of whack for a few minutes. And since i was right in the middle of good movie, grrr, got perturbed over it, sigh, but we did need a good rain.
I've been busy out weeding the jungles, got a good headway on it, so was very pleased with that.
Mary, so glad DH is home...wow, it's cool he got his Auctioneer Certificate! How's Belle, bet she was excited to see him home.
Awe, Debbie, such a hard decision to have to make. I am sorry about your fur buddies. Geeze, thought it had to do with the kittens, never entered my mind you all had to take the older ones too..Sure hope they find as wonderful homes as you have provided...In meantime you just give your self a big hug and keep all the great memories.
A big smiling thank you all about my kitchen! I am really liking it, nice and bright and like Debbie says fun! Now I just have to get the nook done.
Woohoo, Dianne, you are on a great roll with your Spring/Fall cleaning...Oh how awful for the The young man who was killed. My heart goes out to his family...I just dread hunting Season. My kids use to think i was nuts because i wouldn't allow them to be out in the woods.
Always made them wear bright orange hats...LOL One year made them wear orange plastic bags, yep,I am an over-protective nut.
Hi Crissy! Glad you had such a great time at the Derby! Awe poor Tiga, hope he gets back to feeling better soon.
Susan, So glad you went to the Dr. for your hand...Good that you got some antibiotics too. Yikes, I hate waiting for appts too.
Waiving hi back Barb! Oh my, your quilting bee sounded great...I also like to sort walk away from projects...but i bet it was a fun day to quilt with others. And Oh how wonderful you and DH will get away together. i think everyone needs that down time, Just enjoy the ride and hope the Quilting place is awsome!
Stacey how wonderful Jonathan is doing so great. He will be home in no time. Sorry to hear Chris has to work so much, but i guess better to get it out of the way now. I am sure it makes their time together all the more special...And how are you feeling? Getting your rest in, I hope...LOL on the Toy r us explosion, hahah, you should probably get use to it, you ain't seen nothing yet!
LOL, Mary and Dianne...gotta join you all at the cracker barrel breakfast...Had a Bologna sandwich for breakfast!
Well, you can tell it's football season...Guys are all in watching the game.
Ohhh, speaking of which, Jake's team won their game on Thursday night!! 33/26...And Wayyy to cool, my boy made a fantastic tackle!! Right in front of us...I am sure I don't have to tell you how I was just cheering away about that, Chest out..That's my boy! lol.
Let's see, not a whole lot of much other than that..It's a beautiful day, so more weed pulling and maybe start on that toddler blanket!
OH yeah, guess what? Tried paper piecing!! ROFLOLOL, Need more practice!!
Well...I have been typing for a long time, so will see who's posted what,
Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!
Never ever been to Cacker Barrel so have no idea what to order. Don't think there is even one here in Ontario. Mary that's what I love about breakfast out too - I feel like I am on a holiday, what a way to start the day!
OK proud momma is this the last year your son can play school football? Those games are so exciting - I used to go to the high school in the next village to watch their games. They have even started a Friday night under the lights game - usually the games are played during school hours.
Need to go out to deadhead and cull. Lots of the flowers are starting to look realy tatty and 'fall' like.
Betty how are Bernie and Charlene doing now? It will be so hard for them. Yep they are liable for any damage the horse caused but since the guy techincally left the scene I don't think he will try and go after them.
Sun is shining so outside I go.
Dianne
Evening all, lordy I'm so glad this weekend is almost over, can't wait for tomorrow so that I can get to work and rest!
Managed to get to Arianna's birthday party, ate too much cake, dropped into see Uncle Allan, he had me in stitches; wanted to know if I had married, nope, staying single..he asked me if I knew that there are more women then men when you are older, said it wouldn't take much to pick one up..lol..said one of them are always asking him for coffee, told them he could get his own coffee at Tim Hortons, said once you invite a woman in for coffee you can't get her to leave..he turned 78 last month..he's always been my favorite uncle..always loads of laughs..he asked about my stepfather Jim, told him Jim was still working, asked me to tell him they don't have bank machines in a funeral home, quite and enjoy life.
Then it was off to visit Aunt Exilda and Uncle Louis, not much has changed since I visited with them at Christmas, both in a double chaise lounge, holding hands, glancing lovingly (after 70 years of marriage) and watching 50's shows..they are just too adorable..wanted me to stay longer but I said I still had to get to the funeral home.
Met up with old friends and some family..closed casket, had video's running showing family events, different but enjoyable..
Opps be right back...
Thought something was burning..lol... didn't want to burn supper, Kyle was impressed with the fact that he was having a home cooked meal..see a lot of Kyle, always did but seems here's here every night..think he enjoys gabbing with Rose!
Going back to my day, I am so tired, have about 1 1/2 hrs. to finish October Christmas Quilt blocks as well as the 3 for September, sure would like to finish them tonight..I'm all gung ho but the embroidery machine takes 43 minutes per wreath that I'm embroidering, then it's my turn to work..might take a hot bath, get into jammies and by then it might be done.
Debbie, I am so sorry that you had to make that decision, am sure it was a difficult time for you all to do so, comes a time though you got to do what's best for you. While visiting Uncle Allan today I asked where his furry was, said he had to have him put down last week, kitty was 14 and was my Aunt Irene's..she passed away about 7 years ago so know it was difficult as well..said his was one you had to brush daily and each time he went near to brush him he'd get bitten, besides, he said he wasn't well! Sending a 'hug' bet you sure need them.
Dianne, I would put up a stink about his leaving an animal in such pain as well, don't know if they classify it as 'leaving a scene' but they should do, how did he know if there wasn't a human standing beside the horse? It has been a difficult day for the 2 of them, thank goodness they have a lot of acreage and can bury on their property...Charlene has a memorial garden, many of her pets are there...she sure is an animal lover. Think Dianne we had same kind of weather this weekend, nice and sunny today but fall is in the air..I need to be deadheading as well but it will not be tonight.
Crissy, I was thinking that each year when we go to the Smash em up Derby it's rainy, cold and we come home with frozen fingers, hard to believe you are there watching in 100 degree weather. Is there 'fair' type activities going on as well?
Judy, takes awhile to do paper piecing but once you learn there will be no stopping you. click on paper piecing videos, great way to learn..lordy internet has such valuable craft info..what did we do without it before? Sometimes Judy you just have to make time for yourself, hope you spent the day doing what YOU want to do...think we're all alike, always jumping to someone elses drummer!!!
Ahhh Mary, I missed out on the Cracker Barrel breakfast, boo hoo big time, you know that I never cross the border that I don't find one, sure wish we had them in Canada..not so sure it's the food that entices me or the country store...
Just heard my sewing machine call - change thread color/change thread color so best I run and do what I'm told..lol
WOW was there a lot to read!!LOL
Crissy-both our animals get lethargic after shots-they don't eat or do anything else but sleep. The right food will help Tiga gain/maintain weight:)
Betity-sorry to hear about your friend and about Bernie and Charlene's horse-so sad:( Not real sure about Chris keeping up with Jonathan via email when he is gone-he won't really have a computer to check with. How cool Danie's boys had a real concert!! They must have been excited! Is Aunt Muriel the one I met that lives on the stream??
Dianne-sorry to hear about the young father. If you need more to clean, some on over to my house:)
Susan-LOL about the duct tape bandage!!
Did you know that duct tape over a sting will take the stinger out of there is one in your skin??
Barb-it is good and healthy to have a date day/night with DH-not selfish.
Debbie-(((HUGS))) sorry to hear about your cats, I do hope they find their forever home.
Mary-glad to hear you are almost set with the anv. party even if you can't get the band you want. I want to go to IHOP please. When I was in the hospital and they wouldn't let me eat, they kept showing the Rooty Tooty fresh n fruity commercial;)LOL
Judy-LOL at the spray painting the clock;) I am sleeping better, but have to get up in the middle of the night to pump...
Copied and pasted:
Jonathan is up to 11.25lbs, so he is steadily gaining weight. Yesterday was hilarious!! I fed him and held him for a while and when it was time for me to pump, SIL took over. She said he was stinky so she was going to change him. She didn't put a diaper under him first and undid the one he was wearing. It was indeed poopy and he did a little more B4 she took off the diaper. After she'd removed it and tossed it into the trash he pooped A LOT and it got all over her, his onesie and his blanket-won't go into details as I don't want to gross anyone out, but it was like a rocket!!-ROFL I started laughing and couldn't stop to help her until she had the new diaper in place. Then I changed his clothes for the first time (boy was that not easy) and we got him a new blanket. I left clothes and receiving blankets for him-wrote his name on them in washable marker so that it should wash out when I bring the stuff home. Then we came home and did the rest of his laundry and got that folded so I can get it all in his dresser and get his bed made and the rest of his room taken care of. Today I got there just as the nurse was changing his diaper (what great timing huh-LOL) and fed him from the bottle. The nurse said he took a whole bottle during the night-YEAH!!! I fed him about 1/2 and the burp I got out of him must not have been enough cuz soon after he got sick and most of what he'd just eaten came right back up. So we had to change him again and then he ate most of the rest of what he had left-just had 5ML left that had to go through the feeding tube. SIL left about 12:30 and Jonathan slept in my arms while I think I fell asleep a couple times for a minute or two. Chris came about 4 and spent some time with him and we left about 5. Chris was happy to have his Daddy fix, but he was too tired to stay longer. He worked 12.5 hrs yesterday, got about 3 hrs sleep and worked for another 10.5 hrs today.
LOL rofl!! Jonathan is so funny - and of course very boyish!!
Debbie - Great idea ! Not sure how to make a CD...but surely one of the teens will know.... Uncle Hershel ! LOL That's what my Dad gets there....
Judy - LOVE your idea... the minute I retire... I'm spray painting over ALL my clocks ! LOL. DH just 'landed'... he'll be home soon....
Dianne - You'll need to 'cross the border' with Betty and experience a Cracker Barrell ! I think you would love it !
Stacey - I don't think I would have graduated College without IHOP! We'd study there till 4am... and drink coffee... "Back in the Day". Still love their International Omelette...but they've taken it off the menu....LOL - You've already got your hands full with Jonathan !
LOL! Television commercials Work ! (Now I just need to sell some !)
Betty - HMMmmm..... Kyle is around 14? Could he have a bit of a crush ? Rose still reminds me of my niece.... they do dress the same...and have the same slender build...haircut....
I'll pop back on in a bit...
UGH ! Have Jury Duty tomorrow ! It will be my first time... no CLUE what to expect !
Mary
Well I am up everybody is UP! Not sure if this is Good Morning or Good Evening for some of you!
Mary glad to read your DH had landed. Need to get a passport and then I can meander over the border.
I went briefly to the wake last night for the young lad I mentioned. I do not handle wakes or funerals well the way they are handled here in this part of eastern Ontario. Where I came from and maybe it is my Welsh upbringing but the service was always short and sweet and then you really 'waked' the person who had passed in the traditional sense. Lots of food, swapping of stories, singing favourite songs of the deceased and a few toddies or beer for those who chose to imbide.
Betty, for what was supposed to be an 'unbusy' weekend you sure packed lots of things in.
Stacey really enjoying the daily updates on Jonathan!
Almost a full moon out there......... beware!
Dianne
Morning, want to stay and chat but been working on my quilt blocks since 5a.m. Should have done so last night but was just too tired!
Gab when I get to work..
Morning Betty!
Morning ladies & Tubby....
Sun is shining, rain has been called off for today. I have projects I absolutely must do....so getting off this before I lapse into computer coma.
Debbie
Susan-it was pretty hilarious-wish I'd had a video camera;)
Mary-I was wondering the same thing about Kyle-ie the crush on Rose-she is a cute little thing;)
Dianne-I am glad I am not boring anyone. I am sure once he comes home I won't have time to do daily updates, maybe weekly or just when something funny or exciting happens.
Yesterday he was lifting his head up well when he was laying on me which is a good developmental sign and while his eyes track our voices, yesterday for the first time he turned his head towards my voice instead of just his eyes-another good thing^_^
I can't believe he's over 11 pounds already! Gosh he's doing great!
Wish I had Aunts and Uncles to visit....all of mine are gone. But I do still have my folks at 90 and 92, so that's a good thing!
I think that is a typo on the 11 lbs! lol
Here I is, and, am as happy as a lark, imagine, getting to just sit and relax, did bring a bag of goodies with me incase I get antzy and bored enough that I want to do something!
Mary, think the suggestion of doing a CD would be wonderful, great way for them to relive that era and with each song or photo, so many memories will come rushing back...my favorite thing to do was to get the albums and box out with photo's and enjoy what memories they brought, but since so many have now passed on I find it difficult and there they sit..this morning I went through almost the entire house, know I've a carrier or a bag filled with pieces of memory book sections partly made, thought I'd make the boys each one for Christmas, go through my photo's and add the special moments i.e. when we put Roger's Christmas ornament (date of year) on the tree each year and couldn't find it, so, did my Prayer to St. Anthony, Patron of lost objects in hopes of remembering where I saw it when I was cleaning a few weeks ago..boy did I just get off track..lol
Joyce, nice to see you back, were you having computer problems...how did the workshop go? any photo's??
Stacey, do you have a video camera? sure wish they had been invented when my boys were babes..we had those old reel tapes, unit weighed a ton and we couldn't afford it, know dad did tape them from time to time but when he died don't know what happened them...there will be so many moments that you'll wish you had captured..each day Jonathan will overwhelm you with his actions..many a laugh and many a tear coming your way! Love reading your updates as well..no babies in my family so it's nice living through the growth of Jonathan..don't miss the poop thing though..won't he shortly be able to come home seeing as he's done so well? You have a good memory Stacey, we did go visit Aunt Muriel and her house if on the river with the falls..
Debbie, it's blue sky here today, only 55 degrees right now, am sure we'll hit the 60 mark. sending you more hugs and prayers as I know you always need them..you are so like Bernie, regardless what he does, the best of the best turns out bad...my heart always goes out to him!
Dianne, I'm not a fan of going to funeral homes either, noticed in our region they are doing alternates to traditional viewings..more open, more about the deceased..i.e. George having all his painting wares displayed and his sailing photo albums..omg can you imagine my boys bringing my crafts to the funeral home, only way they'd do that is IF arrangements were made that each individual attending would bring one home with them..lol..
Mary, you are tempting me to cross over the border..yikes, now that I found IHOP just down from the Christmas Tree Store and Joann's Fabrics I'm in 7th heaven..get to eat breakfast on Sat. at IHOP and then CrackerBarrel on Sunday mornings....cool!!
Susan, your hand feeling any better? No news about the interview yet?
When do you and Bob do the solo and now that you bought the equipment you'll be sure to get a tape..
Yep, me thinks he might have a crush..lol..he always did drop in to check on me 3 or 4 times a week but seems it's been everyday of late..maybe he's just bored, all caught up in his studying etc. and filling in time..did say he's been applying for after school/weekend work, want to buy himself a snowmobile.
Debbie, maybe Stacey and Chris forget who fed Jonathan last and he's gaining/gaining....lol
How are you doing today...
Did you ever apply for your birth certificate Debbie, know you said you coudn't find it? I've got to keep nudging you, need to get you our side of the border don't we Dianne?
Oh yea Betty, it's a county fair.
Stacey, Tiga's back to normal this morning, she was out of it for about 24 hours this time. I don't think you know the history, she has Irritable Bowel Syndrome. She's on Prednisone and I didn't know this until Saturday, but she's only supposed to have high fiber foods. She's extremely picky and only will eat certain kinds of Fancy Feast. Now Dave is another issue, and he's not wrong but he's not completely right either. Before I met him I was pretty tough on her, she had to eat what I gave her, if she ate it twice, she was eating the rest of the can, and she had to clean her plate before she got more. Seems I didn't have a finicky problem at all then hhmmm. Dave doesn't follow those rules and since he's home and I'm not, I've been overruled. If she's in front of her dish he'll give her whatever she wants. I got some canned food from the vet, the first two times I gave it to her she woofed it down, then suddenly she wanted something different. Dave says she doesn't like it, I say she does, but what I say doesn't seem to matter, so what he does is give her a little of the medicated food and puts Fancy Feast on top of it, which is fine I guess but seems to me to be defeating the purpose. This morning I gave her some of the medicated food and she woofed it down, so yes, I now know she does like it, she's just trying to get something for nothing.
Ok, so with all of my mom's problems she has now broken her foot, and needless to say I am not happy about it.
Over 11 Pounds!!! That's great!! And he's raising his head and turning to your voice, that's even better Stacey!! I am so happy!!!!
OMG Crissy, how in the world did she manage to break her foot?
If Dave has to start paying mega Vet bills he'll soon be more cautious as to what Tiga eats....kitties are like children, they play you, know who they can approach to get their way..i.e. extra treats..
hmmmmm typo on 11 lbs? I don't think so, as she posted the copy/paste in at least 3 rooms. Not only that, but it's 2 #s, not one, the 5 lbs was.......
Our solo won't be a solo after all. The keyboardist said "I never promised you would do it". After I told her about the piece.she went and got the music (I couldn't find the music, just the cords). Anyway, my DH & I are still practicing the piece with our voice coach...... We're going to sound professional (she has me, the only high soprano) singing the last line of the last verse differently - much higher). anyway, it will be great.
I'm choosing all the music for October. She will have editing license of it, though.
My hand is much better - still have the puffy spot that's infected, but the burn itself is looking "cleaner" (if that makes any sense).
I haven't heard about the interview - would only hear if I were "short-listed" so I guess I'm not....
oooooh Crissy - your poor mom & now with a broken foot!!
I bet Jonathon is 5 lbs 11 oz.....not 11 lbs. lol
Betty, to be honest, right now it hurts to breath. I just miss them so very much and worry non-stop. Haven't slept. My house is so very quiet.
Between car repairs, and other issues....I have not had the funds to get the license. IF things would calm down and I can get a handle on life...it is at the top of my priority list. Going to be a problem if you get me over there.....you may end up with TWO housemates...I won't want to come back. And I do cook! lol
You just convinced me Debbie that I need you across this side of the border and have another room just sitting waiting for you..
Can't imagine the hurt you must be feeling, you must have felt it was for the best though to have gone through with it??? You've much to get a handle on Debbie, takes time, don't try and overdo..
Sunday morning listening to my Ministry shows, there was a great one, have to go in search of it, some of you might enjoy...
No Betty he won't. Fancy Feast is cheaper than the food that comes from the vet, therefore he'll just complain about the money being spent to keep her alive. I spent over $1500 in 2007 to find out what the problem was in the first place (different vet,) I spend about $5.00 a month on medicine now and this past vet bill for shots only came to $40.00, which would be spent whether she's well or not as these shots have nothing to do with her illness, these were Rabies, Feline Lukemia, and something else, maybe Feline Aids. Yes, he's complaining about it and the $1500 spent 3 years ago. LOL!!!! They ARE like children and they DO go to the person who gives them what they want, and since he's the person who does this, he's the person who gets taunted. LOL!!!
Betty the man will complain when there's nothing to complain about. I have learned to just laugh and block it out. When we went to the demo derby and fair we had our friends Christy and Andy with us, Dave was telling us to turn this way or that way, Christy whispered in my ear, "How do you handle that?" I just kept on walking and ignored him, I said, "I just ignore it, it means nothing." She laughed and said, "Well I just kinda saw that, and he didn't say anything!" I told her, "He won't, he'd rather have something to complain about than to just go with the flow, but he'll go with the flow anyway if he's the odd man out."
I think your right Debbie, if he was 11 lbs he wouldn't be in the hospital anymore. There's really no way he could gain 6 lbs in a week or so.
Joel Osteen - Having the Right perspective
You may not want to watch the entire ceremony so you can move the blue tab over 3/4's of the way, Joel will speak..
Just love him!!!
http://www.lightsource.com/ministry/joel-osteen-ministries/20100912/
I'm glad your hands better Susan, and yes a cleaner looking burn makes sense and sounds a lot more comforting.
My mom and Lynn were in the casino and Lynn thinks he needs to walk like he's going through a fire and on a good day she has to practically run to keep up with him. Well she thought that her foot was doing better so she decided to walk slightly faster to catch up to him, causing her to 'forget' of sorts that she can't pick up her foot. She caught her foot on the floor by her baby toe, rolled her toe under her foot and fell. She cracked that bone that goes from your baby toe to your ankle where it connects to your toe, where it connects to your ankle, and it's cracked vertically down the middle. She can't wear a cast because she can't use crutches because of her already existing pain, she can't take a bath because of her stoma, and the Urgent Care dr obviously wanted to keep it still so somehow they gave her a walking boot and got hold to an Orthopedic Surgeon and they're going to try to squeeze her in today sometime. Me and Lynn both think it would be best for them to just go in and pin it so it for sure won't move and will heal straight and she'll be able to walk on it with the boot. One thing about it, he buys handicapped scooters, repairs them, and sells them so they each have their own handicapped scooter plus 20 more in the garage waiting to be sold, so she's not short on riding a scooter! LOL
Oh Crissy, your mom and my mom are just too alike!!! I just shake my head and agree with everything..got to say I think Jim - step father is getting to be same...Saturday I called to see if they were coming to the anniversary party, that's when he told me about mom locking her keys in the vehicle, said not likely she'd be coming, he of course didn't bring dress clothing, good excuse so when mom called him to say she was coming to my house so we could go together he tells here I was nasty, didn't sound myself..hellooooo...lordy, how many times do they have to change plans before someone gets annoyed and most likely I WAS!!!
Your mom shouldn't leave the foot unattended much longer or they'll have to break it again just to set it! Lucky is right, to have motor scooters to get themselves around.
OMG it must be bad with Dave for others to notice it, usually they behave with company is around..
Just went back and listened to Joel preach, think I'll go back and listen again, might put me on the right track..lol
Mary - when is the Anniversary party?
Friends of mine's daughters put together a DVD of their pictures (baby, high school, 1st date, prom, kid's baby pics, etc) with music of the era when they started dating, and it was fabulous - plus of course, commentary from the kids explaining things as they went along. Oh, and there were comments below the pics so people commented on Them, too. Was really good, and funny!
so many great things that can be done for Weddings/birthdays/anniversaries...technology, isn't it grand!
Well, trying to get focused, many of you aren't into these ministry video's but you got to love what Joel preaches..today, many of us are feeling down, feeling like nothing is going right...
click on to the link, bring the play knob circle to 3/4 and listen to his preaching...sure gives you HOPE!!!
http://www.lightsource.com/ministry/joel-osteen-ministries/20100919/
LOL Betty!!! You have every right to be annoyed. Jim probably doesn't know the whole story, heck, your mom probably told him that YOU changed the plans from going to Buffalo to Aunt Muriel's house and that you got the info just like she did. Jim isn't going to know the difference. I praise Lynn every day, he has to have nerves of steel. She went to Urgent Care, it's an upscale ER. She didn't leave it unattended, she just wouldn't let the Dr. put anything on her foot because of her pain problems, so they put a boot on her foot and told her that she MUST keep her foot still but she can take off the boot when she takes a shower and what-not. That's not keeping the foot still and it will never work. She's broken bones before, and hopefully she'll get in to see the Orthopedic Surgeon today too.
I just crack up at Dave, if things aren't going just as he planned, that very second he gets all uptight. But if another second passes he'll change his mind and completely forget that he had plans before. He loves to entertain and have groups of people around him. He's not perfect but neither am I, and nor is anyone else. He loves me and takes very good care of everything, I just have to complain because he complains and it drives me nuts. He knows he drives me nuts! LOL
Amen to that statement, 'none of us are perfect'!
Your mom might have done more damage to her foot not dealing with the situation while she was at the hospital...mom' s the same, had her in Barrie hospital when she had the stroke and wouldn't stay nor would she let them do further testing..so, you just have to go along with it.
LOL you know Crissy you might be right, she might have told Jim just that
Betty the class was fine. Only two girls, but they each made two troughs and they were happy. I made two mushrooms and I'm happy with the way they turned out. I'll probably be tweaking as I make the next ones, but that's part of the fun!
Well, the ORVG gang (a few of them) will be coming here Saturday for lunch and a gabfest. Looks like there will be about 10 of us. I invited DM&D, too. If she's feeling up to it, they'll come as well. Then we'll have an even dozen. Bill usually stays around and takes charge of the hotdogs. So he'll make it 13. I'm still trying to get one gal from the Columbus area to come and if she comes, I think there's another one that wants to ride with her (she doesn't drive). Still don't have an answer on that yet. Sue is bringing cider with her that she has been helping press. Should be yummy! Not sure if she's bringing the twins or not....could be two more there if she does....
You all keep me busy just reading about all you're doing. I've been out today trying to tidy up the garden....it's in a sad state right now. Wednesday is our Water Garden Society meeting and we're having a plant swap. We can bring as many plants as we want, but we only get 5 tickets to take our turns in picking from the others. At the end, all the leftovers will be up for grabs. I told Bertie I had plenty of plants for her, so she shouldn't worry about bringing any. I have 16 to take. That's if I don't get in the pond and pull out the 3 plants that I have duplicates and triplicates of....
Betty, I did have a terrible virus....DS had to take the computer and it was not worth trying to fix. So he built us another one. Now it's a laptop full time, but he fixed it so it shows up on our big monitor and works with the mouse. Only thing it doesn't do right now is work with a regular keyboard, but he's bringing one of those, too, soon. He was able to get our emails and pictures off the old one, so that was really all that concerned us. I can't type as well on the laptop, so it takes me much longer to say what I want to say. If there's any big typos....please just ignore it!
Sounds as though you'll have a full house on Saturday, what exactly is ORVG, know I'll shake my head when you tell me, I'll say 'should have known that' noggin not working well today, too tired! You'll have to post photo's of your finished mushrooms and containers, anxious to see...were there more girls who didn't come to the session, all the better, girls got to make more than 1..lol
You are as busy as I, always on the run. Not sure we have plant exchanges here, usually just the church plant sale where I've gotten hundreds of plants. You say your garden isn't at it's best, lordy, mine is so sad..time to move some of the plants can clean the gardens up, hate to though, doing it tells me the white stuff will soon be next.
Lucky you having your son to fix your computer. I've played with Kyles and Jeff's laptop and it seems so very awkward, am sure after you use it a lot, it will be no different than the desktop.
Bet you are enjoying humidity all but gone
She's had it checked out by her family MD and her Chiropractor. Her Chiropractor said it perfectly. It's her L5 Nerve in her back. If there's swelling around it she will have a loss of mobility and feeling that is temporary, if it's damaged she will have a loss of mobility and feeling that is permanent, the problem is she doesn't know which one and hasn't gone in for an MRI to see if it's swollen or not. Let's hope there is swelling and it's not damaged! Yikes!!
Sending her prayers Crissy, sure doesn't help that you don't live near her..worried and nothing you can do to help...lucky she has a hubby who seems to take good care of her..I sometimes worry about that, being alone, lordy what will I do if I get seriously ill, oh I know, boys will find me a home..lol
All kidding aside, sure hope she hasn't done permanent damage.
Just got home, stopped at Bernie's, he met me at the drive and told me not to mention the horse to Charlene, she'd just taken a few pills to try and sleep, hasn't slept but a few hours since Sunday morning, so just gabbed about what was left in the garden, about Bernie picking up all the supplies, about him changing the design, I don't care about that part, just want it done..says he'll pick up supplies tomorrow or Wednesday and just might work on it this weekend..told him snows coming, best he get at it!!! told me why? because the minute he does the back verandah I'll have another project ready to do..he does know me right?
Picked up some white on white cotton so I can get started on my last 2 quilt blocks tonight, in the wash and must dry, by then I'm sure I'll have run out of energy..lol
If nothing else I'll get the embroidery done!!!
Home alone, Rose must be out biking and think she joined a fitness class on Monday nights, so she's busy and then Cathy called me to see if I was interested on watching a special about Queen Elizabeth tonight, apparently she has extra 3D glasses for the film, told her yes but don't see the glasses..maybe she'll bring them along later.
Ate western and fries so not hungry at the moment so the left over pork roast and mashed potatoes can be eaten later or even tomorrow..no cooking .. yippee!!!
Betty, did you get my d-mail about the fabric you sent?
LOL-will catch up in the am-he is 5lbs, 11.25 oz-LOL-actually today he is up to 12oz;)
wow, he is growing, not quite 11 lbs. but doing wonderfully!
LindaKay, I did get an e-mail to say the fat quarter arrived, hope it wasn't soiled with them opening the package..surely they just had to feel the card and they'd have known it wasn't anything to worry about!
Sitting here watching sewing machine embroider, change color, sew/sew/sew, change color, nodding off listening to it..lol
Just want to get the embroidery done!
LOL I didn't think about it until Susan and Debbie said something, I was still disgusted with my mom's foot situation this morning. I just got off the phone with her and the Orthopedic Surgeon took a bunch of x-rays and said that her boot is fine for her to wear just as long as she rides her handicapped scooter and keeps her weight off of it for the most part, but ignoring her nerve leg issue is absolutely not ok. He chewed her out for ignoring it and told her that nerves is not something she wants to take lightly (like she doesn't know that by now lol) and has scheduled a bunch of nerve tests and an MRI to find out exactly what is wrong with her nerve and leg. He said the same exact thing that her Chiropractor told her and re-iterated the fact that the longer she waits the worse it could be, and he said they have GOT to find out why her leg is messed up. KUDOS to the Orthopedic Surgeon!!
