I'd be glad to take some of that water off your hands......
Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!
Joyce, sending prayers for your Mom, and daughter! Good luck on your walk for JDRF! So many kids developing it!
Betty, sure hope your yard damage is not too bad!
Yea Betty that's the one he hasn't heard from yet, the plastics molding company. He said the Kohler interview went better than the molding company though, but that's not a buyer position, it's a Production Planner position that doesn't pay quite what a buyer position does, but pays more than an Expeditor position does. He's wondering what's going on, he interviewed with the Production Manager and HR Manager at the molding company, now there's an ad out that they're looking for a Production Manager. Dave's wondering if his interview didn't go down the toilet because the Production Manager who he interviewed with isn't there anymore.
OMG you've got to read how hilarious Dave is! As I was typing that he didn't get the Kohler job yesterday, he was calling the HR gal he interviewed with to ask her what happened, why didn't he get chosen. She told him that they hired someone who agreed to take 25K!!! DANG that job should pay between 40 and 60K, Dave laughed and said someone's getting screwed because they didn't do their homework.
Stacey he would have done that it if we couldn't afford it, but he brings home $420 a week on unemployment which isn't near the 75K he made over at Hawker Beechcraft doing a lower job and had only been there for a year and a half. He used to scare the crap outta me when we first met, I would swear he didn't know what he was doing and I would freak out that I was going to lose everything because of him and why in the world did I say I'd marry this dude?? LOL I now know that he does know what he's doing and won't leave us broke.
LOL Debbie!!!!
Joyce lots of T&P for both of them, and you!!
Oh no Betty, always sad when that happens.
Crissy - I need to hook up with a guy like Dave, who knows his worth!!! hahahaha nope, I love my DH and wouldn't trade him for anything!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's understanding Some of his worth, but he is worth sooooo much more.....
I know my worth, and it's more than the $50k I got, and I've been told that. However, I know, in this economy that I won't get it. Right now, it's not only "last hired, first fired", it's "who is making the most and we can get rid of". One of the shipping clerks had told me that she has job security because she makes so little.......
Busy here this morning, going to catch up in a bit....
Here's Tubby's smile of the day!
http://www.members.shaw.ca/va7ana/owls.htm
Betty, I don't know if we are in the same time zone??? I am so very bad with that kind of stuff.... but 4:30 am my time I was just going to bed....
Yes, we're the same time zone..omg what in the world were you doing up at 4:30??? Was just telling Suzanne, 4;45 better come quick, I'm yawning and can barely keep me eyes open..it will be early to bed for me tonight.
At lunch Suzanne tried talking me into doing a line-dancing class..lordy it's been years since I thought it, am sure I could muster up the routines..called the Township to see if they have a room for rent - 1 1/2 hrs. we'd be about 6 of us..I don't exercise much so it certainly might make me fit!
What have you been up to Thunder? still sewing? how's the family?
I'd say Crissy I want one like Dave as well but I've decided I'd best stay on my own, less stress!
Just got back from my second walk of the day - I feel great, Stormy feels great but poor old DH if huffing and puffing.I must make a note to myself to set out earlier with Stormy when DH walks with us - I like to go a fair distance but DH is just coming around to the idea he needs to walk to get some exercise so I don't want to deter him in any way. Took me 38 years to get him to realize he needs to walk!
Stacey you and Chris must be just jumping with joy - won't be long now and that little dude will behome with you.
LK was glad to read your doc is keeping an eye on your markers for Lupus. Many do not realize it is another form of arthritis as is gout. I too have RA and OA, so can sympathize with you over the pain factor.Since my radiation this winter I have had several flareups of RA but my GP thinks this is just a reaction to the radiation and I need my meds tweaked.
Betty is Meaford this weekend? If it is that means it is time for Honey Crisp apples. I always equate the 2 with each other.
Need to go do something useful......like hoovering.
Dianne
Hey Dianne, how is your mouth doing after the dental work? That must have hurt a lot? Hope your doing better, and you have meds that work for you.
Betty, line dancing is quite popular down here at the bars and clubs, if your into western music! Several times a night everyone will fill the floor, and do the line dance!
Doing the happy dance here....it's RAINING!
good - take some of our rain too, please!!
We need about 2 days straight of nothing but rain....this was heavy for a while, but nice and easy now....wish it would rain all night!
If I'd known that all it would take is for me to wash and wax my car, I would have done it a lot sooner!!!!!!
Praying for rain for you, Cookie!!
Joyce, certainly could send some rain your way as we're not just getting rain but torrential rain. LOL yep, never fails that I go through the car wash and it starts to rain 10 minutes later!
Joyce going to your link tonight, hope I can donate $$$ via the site?? if not let me know and I'll send some..good cause for sure.
LindaKay, line dancing was really popular here about 10 years ago, not so much now, only reason I'd agree to teach it is that it would be just friends and a great way for me to exercise.
Dianne, going to purchase some honey crisp apples on my Meaford trip, it's not this weekend but it's Oct. 1/2/3 about 8 of us will meet up and go on Saturday, on the Friday aft. & evening we're getting together at Dannie's, she has that psychic staying at her house for the weekend so it will be another busy/busy weekend. It's great Dianne that you are able to take walks with hubby..great way to exercise...
Can't believe we are only weeks away from Thanksgiving..called Jeff & Greg yesterday so they can let me know if the Sat. or the Sun. would be better for our Thanksgiving Dinner..they always say, 'mom, it's not for a few weeks yet' boys, no concept that there are things to do, groceries to buy and cooking..yes, did say cooking and I'll not burn it..
I didn't go back in my posts to see if I told you this story yesterday but while I was gabbing to Greg he mentioned that they were cooking potatoes, Melanie wasn't well, layed down, Kyle was to look after them, Greg needed him outside to help with closing the pool, potatoes burnt, peeled more, again, burnt, steak wasn't quite cooked, Greg forgot it on the grill, burnt so as they sat down they said they were having a 'grandma Betty dinner' , imagine, they've no respect for me..lol
June was here a few minutes ago, wanted me to see the project she finished here today before giving it to her sister..it's a birthday gift ..talk about recycling, was an old mirror frame off of a cupboard and is now a piece of art!
OMG, June had a telephone number written down with a man's name on my table, asked her what it was for, said a friend of mine Christine who owns a resort in Honey Harbour was looking for a room for this gentleman for the winter, he maintains for cottages and one should have been ready for him to stay in this winter but they did a lot on renovations so it's not...drats, nope, I lucked out with Rose, although I have another room he could use, just don't think I want to consider it...better keep to my guns when she calls later.
Starting to feel tired, going for a bath, I know, it's only 7pm but I'll bring Christmas books upstairs and see what kind of a project I might do for the girls workshop..not hard, just sit there and turn pages...will be an early night for me though.
Stay out of the storms..gab later
how many rooms do you have, Betty? And how many guests have you had at one time - do you have a "busy season"?
I think that next week I'll be able to sew again - YAAAAAAAAAAY! I've missed it so much, but I think my hand's getting much better, so I'm not so nervous about moving it - the antibiotic I'm taking seems to be doing the trick cuz the swelling's going down.
Betty, that is beautiful!
Susan, glad to hear your fingers ar getting better!
Hello All !
Prayers for you Joyce !
Betty - The first 'psychic' I ever saw was on Bourbon Street....at Marie Laveau's. About 15 years ago....
She told me I was in "Broadcast Sales....Radio or TV"......
I kid you not..... and I had NOTHING on my person to indicate such.....
Didn't the last psychic predict you would meet a "Special someone"? Maybe he line dances !!!!
I'll pop back in a bit...
Hugs,
Mary
Thanks, LK!! for the care re: my hand/fingers ^_^
Today's the 1st day I am not putting a bandage on it! ^_^
Great Susan ! Maybe needs a little air to 'breathe'.... How's the performance coming?
Performance?
Betty, I work 2 - 11 pm, so I don't go to bed till somewhere around 4 am....get up around 10 or 11 most days.... Mess around on the computer, and / or sew a little before I have to go to work, then same thing after I get home...computer &/or sewing.
Dave waits up for me most nights, but goes to bed soon after I get home, one of my boys is already in bed, he gets up early...often as I am going to bed!! the other son is up till around 1, or 2...in his room doing his thing, while I am in my room doing my thing.
sew I get a few hours of "me" time every night. Most of it spent sewing.
Susan, glad your finger is getting better.. I think the "performance" is you singing with the Hubby???
4.23 going to bed
Y'all have a good morning !! I Hope to have a good sleep. :)
Mary, you are too cute, didn't move my ring from left to right hand though and if that man wants me he'll have to knock on my door..lol
Funny how some are right on target, what else was said that may have turned out???
Well, my friend Jimmy Wilkie, world renoun pshycic (were you on the thread when I posted info on him, he's passed on now) had a spirit guide called Rama who aided him..sooo many stories I could tell..
Susan, I have another bedroom that could be let, but no, I enjoy living on my own too much and Rose, she just blends in, we don't need a man around the house so I said 'no'..wavered a bit, but still said 'no'! Glad your hand is healing and tht you soon be able to get into some projects you've been wanting to do.
It's off for coffee and cereal
Gab when I get to work
Maybe the man that needs a room is the one the psychic saw for you Betty;)
Susan-so glad your hand feels so much better!!!!!!! I think a lot of people aren't paid what they are worth. And some are paid way more than they are worth (like my ex-boss)....if only it could even out somewhere along the way.
Betty-Love the piece June did!!
Copied and pasted:
Jonathan gained another oz yesterday so he at 5lbs, 14.25oz:) He is so close to 6lbs!! He ate 25 ML for his first feeding, and instead of burping was farting up a storm!!LOL Then he did 15ML for his 2nd-I think he would have taken more, but by the time the nurse got his bottle warmed he was starting to get sleepy. He took some partial bottles during the night and one whole bottle. They upped him to 50ml, so he is almost at the 2oz he needs to be at when he comes home, he just needs to eat his whole feedings from the bottle. His sucking is getting so much stronger too which I think is something that will help us get where we need to be too. He had his hearing test yesterday and passed with flying colors. I need to call the peds office my OB recommended today and ask some ?? to make sure it is the right one for us. I want someone with preemie experience. On Friday I am going to get my car detailed out (a good cleaning inside and out really-$14) so that we can get his car seat installed, then on Monday (if the Doc releases me to drive) I can get it inspected and be good to go:)
Right on Stacey! I am so glad he's doing so good, how exciting for you and Chris!
LOL Betty that's funny about Greg and Kyle burning the food. One thing is for sure, if your going to cook things that cook half way fast, steak cooks fast, potatoes not so much unless your doing baked in the microwave before putting them on the grill, you have to stay with the food and can't go doing other things while it's cooking! Projects have to wait! Melanie sure has been sick a lot lately.
This office is wound up like an 8 day clock and I'm just sitting here in my office enjoying my Black Eyed Peas CD and talking to y'all.

Thanks Betty...I didn't see a donation last night, but that could be for lots of reasons...I appreciate your help...truly...I do.
We got 3/4 inch of rain, Praise the LORD! We needed it so badly. Got a few plants last night and now maybe I can get them in the ground. Yesterday before the rain, I wouldn't have been able to get the shovel in the ground!
Susan, been praying for you....any job news yet?
Morning everyone!
Stacey, I saw on the news today, that baby formula Similac is being recalled. The powder form only, because it contains in infestaion of beetles, and bugs! Make sure the hospital is not using it!
OMG, you just got to wonder Lindakay when you purchase any product, just what you are using/eating..yikes..same as the problems we had here with packaged meats last year..quite a few died and hundreds deathly ill..
Stacey, Jonathan is doing great, within months you'll never know he was a preemie..remember when you think of getting kitties or dogs, one often wants the runt as he'll be the healthies..sure it goes for same with humans...
Joyce, didn't get to do the donation yet, was going to do it last night then went to bed, getting up at 4am tired me out..this morning I've been busy at work (unusual) but enjoyable because it's almost noon..
No rain today, tomorrow is suppose to be a scorcher, then for Sat.Sun. not the best temps..I'm at a seminar on Saturday so let it rain then.
Crissy, keep the headset on and listen to your tunes instead of listening to everyone who are stressed out.
I don't have a headset but I can shut my door! LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!! They were talking about babies, not a conversation I need to be a part of :-)
LK-I saw that-it is the powdered form, and I'm not sure what brand they use, but it is already a liquid form, not powder...so that's good-I was so grossed out when I saw that on the news this am:(
You have to be just sooo aware of what products you use...
Cathy just telephoned me, she was at my place cutting my grass..omg, I've not cut grass even 1 time this year and that's a lot of cutting, told me my yard work was almost done and told me the she's now helping Bernie closing in the back deck..still have some tweeking to do re ordering smaller side screens but she says it's lovely...he'll try to put the door in and do the upper closure before weekend...started to laugh, here I had this weeks pay to play and now it goes to Bernie for labor..easy come easy go they say! I will SO enjoy sitting outside without mosquito's summertime and no shovelling snow in the wintertime..happy day for sure.
Did tell me Bernie said I didn't listen, said that all the vine that grew all over the deck this year should have been cut down, ahhhh was just starting to flower, anyway, that's my job for tonight..
Wish I could come and sit with you a spell....... :O)
wish you could as well, ahhh 2012 right??? my turn to entertain DG friends so start saving those pennies.
When I was doing major renovations at the house I was home, got to see the work as it progressed, drats, today I have to work and must have patience..just spoke with Bernie, he's got the door frame to make at home and he says rather than me order the 4 side screens, likely he can make them from the outer frames I got that were extra and then I can just bring them get screened...here's hoping, that alone would be a big savings! just got to love brothers right?
Betty, sounds like you will finally have that screened in porch! Of course you know we will be waiting for pictures.
Sorry you will have to pull the blooming vines down!
Guess LindaKay, Bernie and Cathy didn't trust that I would so cut them down themselves..I'll dig out roots and find another spot for them, lordy, they were just blooming with white flowers (almost lilac shape)..boo hoo, have to keep telling myself it will be worth it.
I have to pat myself on the back, do so when I get to put a line through a project that I listed as a goal for 2010..can do so shortly, not easy being on your own, and when you buy a shack and transform it into a home you should give yourself a pat on the back, of course, I pay for labour but very minimal but still, it's been a challenge.
Bum about those vines, they would have been pretty! They should have waited, not going to do damage in 2 weeks time. I'm sad :(
Your house is beautiful Betty and you need more than a pat on the back, that's for sure.
For them Crissy to put the screen panels in place they did have to come down, I knew that..usually it takes Bernie a few weeks to work my projects into his plans, this time I ordered all the supplies and he got right at it..lol..they'll grow again in a new location..
This has been a busy week and it gets busier. Went up to Toledo last Friday to take Stacey to the hospital andthen back home late that day. They home for the weekend and back to Toledo for Monday thru Wednesday. Came home last night and found out that a good work friend, just 9 months older than me, died suddenly Tuesday night. So tomorrow I head back up to Lansing, MI for the funeral on Saturday and then back home to Fostoria by way of Toledo on Sunday. I think I am going to have the steering wheel embedded in my hands.
Poor Pepper, she was at Doggie Day Care on Friday, Mon.-Wed. and came home a pooped puppy. Now she will go to Lansing with me and be in day care there from Fri. to Sunday. I feel sorry for her. She wont know where her home is and while she loves to play with other dogs, she does get very tired if it is all day. I told Stacey that maybe I should have gotten a little dog that I could take with me everywhere, but there is no guarantee that that one would be welcome at people's home either.
When I had Shadow everyone was glad to have me bring her along to their house as she was such a good , laid-back dog. Pepper is good but still a puppy and she likes to run up to people and at 75 lbs. she could knock someone down. That would not be good for my friends or for Stacey with the C-Section so boarding is where it is at and that gets old and expensive!
I have loved having the time with Jonathan. He is such a good baby and he is growing by leaps and bounds. You can see him getting more mature every day. Yesterday he was really awake for a while with eyes open following voices. Up until then he had pretty much been asleep most of the time. He likes to lay on Stacey's chest on his tummy and he will do that for Daddy, too. Now so with Grandma. If I do that he cries or squirms around. I have to hold him in my arms on his back. then he will give a little sigh and settle down to sleep. Twelve days old and he already has a way of communicating what he likes best. And you had better believe we hop to!!
Yesterday Stacey and I stopped at Joann's and bought fabric for curtains for his room, three swaddle blankets, and a sling for her. Guess the quilts and blocks will be put on hold. The fabric for the swaddles is just darling; one says "Little Buddy" which is what Stacey calls him when she doesn't call him Mr. Stinky Bottoms. Another has I love Mommy/Daddy on it and the third has little green frogs on lily pads.
Well, I am really tired and I have a three hour drive in front of me tomorrow. It's times like this that I remember I am not as young as I used to be! I'm going to pack, get dinner and go to bed early.
Oh poo Betty, well, if your like me you'll get over it when you see the finished screened product.
Janice, you'll be needing a month to get yourself back into a home routine. Poor Pepper, lol, I'm sure he's none the worse for wear, am sure you leave him in good hands..
It always amazes me that even though babes are only hours old they know how to wrap us around their fingers. Bet you are all anxious to get him home.
Sounds as though you got great buys and will busy for some time sewing, need to see photo's...
Sorry about your friend Janice, she wasn't ill at all?
Could you not drive part ways to Stacey's and do the 2nd half in the morning? Didn't realize you had moved 3 hrs. away from Lansing..thought it was a skip/hop away!!
You be careful driving..
