Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Performance - well, the keyboardist/choir director said that it wasn't Promised that we would do a duet, so she's having the choir do the song "Thank You LORD, For Your Blessings On Me" sometime. Mind you, I pick the songs for October, so I'll choose a day for it ^_^ It can't be Thanksgiving Weekend, which would be perfect, because someone is doing a solo and the choir won't be doing an anthem which this song is destined to be....

As for my hand - it's seen it's problem time, and it's just another hand now LOL

I have no news about any job that I've already applied for, but I found one working for Alberta Health and it's basically doing the same thing as I was doing at my other job (Alberta Health is the company that managed the one I worked for, so it's a good match for me!). I've just sent my online application - we shall see...... It's quite a ways away from where I currently live, and where I worked before - about 2x the distance of where I worked before, but who cares, if I can get a good job!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Let's hope this is the one Susan..not good that it's so far from your home though..how long would it take you to get to work when you get it? See I'm being positive..

Starting to rain!

Do you think if I find a big container and put some of the vine portions the cut from the railing that they might grow roots?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It won't hurt to try Betty. What kind of vine is it?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I have a car, and as it's deep south west, and I'm at the south end of the north east part of the city, I imagine it could take 40 minutes..... depending on the roads......

I really don't care about distance, as long as the job is a "good fit" it's perfect LOL

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Susan just make sure your not spending more in gas than your bringing home, sometimes it's not worth the drive.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I know what the company pays for positions such as I've applied for, and it's worth it. Besides, I use a gas additive and instead of fueling up every 2 weeks, it allows me to fuel up every 3 weeks!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Still don't understand that gas additive Susan..can you provide me with a link one day? With my little car it cost me $40.00 a week travelling to Barrie.

It's a silverlace vine, see they've put it in the burning pit already..omg, guess I can't grow grapevine either or it will damage the screens..looks pretty bare, almost bare, everything that was screwed to the deck i.e. stained glass panel, birdfeeder, even my clothesline that was localed on the deck had to go..win some and you lose some..

He's still have 5 small mini panels to fit in, needed more wood so I've ordered that, won't come in till mid-morning, has the door frame to install and the door to cut down 1" would think another day might do it.

Have to find a home for all my treasures, once it's done there will be wood for me to attach these items again.

Just asked him if he thought one of those kittie doors could be installed in the door, have a new one here so I'll drop it off in the morning to see if it's the right size, maybe it's too thick..now if I can remember where I put it???

Now I have to decide if I'll paint the pressure treated wood white, Bernie says once it's done it will look fine, says it will match decking..told me IN LOUD VOICE, 'do you think you can wait until the job is done before you add your 2 cents?' OK..best I do that..lol

Well, at least it's started..

Betty - Bob & I are distributors for Syntek - and the additive is good for the vehicle - for gas or diesel. One of our customers said it makes for a smoother running/starting..... I agree, of course, or we wouldn't have become distributors in the first place!
Syntek is having a bit of technical difficulty, so the site isn't available at the moment. As soon as it's fixed, I'll give you the site to connect to.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello All;

Yes Barefoot had it right... Susan I meant the duet. Sorry been really tired lately.....probably not making sense....

Jury Duty Monday/Tuesday, bootcamp Monday, a Class tonight... and of course that 'work/job' thing....exhausted...just gotta make it through tomorrow.

Oh - then Tuesday night... Me, BIL, DD's and last few minutes DH got about 70 invitations printed, stuffed, stamped addressed and mailed for the 50th Anniv party... Got 3 RSVP's back already today via email ! Was excited for that. :)

I'll check back in a bit...

Hugs,
Mary

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I figured that's what you meant, Mary - and our choir director has decided we're NOT to do the duet - she's gotten the whole choir singing the song.....

When's the anniversary party, Mary?

Baton Rouge, LA

Hey Susan -

You will do the duet in October, right? That's what I think I remember but again... exhausted so not sure if I remember correctly....

The Anniversary party is Friday October 15th.... I know we got invites out late... but nothing could have been done about that.... We requested RSVP's by 10/1.....

I can't seem to find a band... but we asked folks for "song names" on the RSVP Cards...and BIL is making a DVD for the party......

Plus we'll have the PPT Slide show I am making... One of the RSVP's said she would send more pics over.... MIL's best friend..... that's GREAT !

Better turn in... long day tomorrow (((HUGS))) to all... I'll try to write more tomorrow...

Mary

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, windy but will be a sunshine and high humidity day..already 77 BUT good news is it's Friday!!

Left the house early this morning, dropped in to see Bernie to find out what screen & materials were still needed, he was working hard on my project, would have been easier doing it when he built the original deck, but oh no, I had to wait until now..Timbrr said my order hadn't gone out yet and my morning order can be included..doubt Bernie will be there today, has to frame small sections..

Mary, you are well underway with your Anniversary plans, good girl; as for the band, I enjoy D.J. music only because you can meet the likes of most people vs. bands that only play one specific type of music and sometimes off key. Am sure it will be a success..is it a surprise???

Susan, will be looking for the info..you got to wonder why it's not distributed in gas stations more? ooops think I just answered that question didn't I? they'd not make as much!

Fridays are always so quiet, decided to bring the scarf I'm working on ..might manage to get it done!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Betty-Mom only lives an hour S of us and Lansing is 2hrs N...hence her 3 hr drive. She is coming back on Sunday because 2 of her friends are coming down to see Jonathan-the friends she is staying with. PS-can you send me Bernie so he can do some stuff for me??;)

Copied and pasted:
I am doing everything I can to make sure when he is released we are ready to go. Made an appt for Mon to get the car seat installation checked and called the peds office yesterday-I think this is the place for us. I talked to the lady for about 10mins and asked all kinds of ??-she was super nice and patient. All the Drs there have privileges at Toledo Children's Hospital which is where he is and they all have preemie experience.

Jonathan gained another 2.25 oz yesterday-he is now at 6lbs, 1/2oz!!! He took a full bottle at 11am, 1/2, 25ml at 2pm, then I gave him a bath right B4 his 5pm feeding so he only took 15ml then-too pooped. My OB came to circumsize him at about 5:30 and I had to practically run out of the NICU-I didn't want to hear his cries. I apologized all day to him about what was coming. I am glad that he will be there instead of home with his poor little snipped part:( I know it is for the best, but boy did I feel like a bad momma letting them do that to him....

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Hey Mary - no our keyboardist said we will NOT be doing a duet. Instead, the song we WERE going to do as a duet will be sung by the entire choir.

Stacey - you're not a bad mom, and it's cleaner this way. ONEof the reasons I had my son circumcised is because his father was, and we figured he'd want to "look" the same as his father, too. Our son's doctor actually didn't want to, but we insisted.

Betty - you're right - they Wouldn't make as much lol I will be talking to Syntek today about Bob's website. For some reason it's not up......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, your vehicle is not deisel by any chance??? I'd just be a little concerned about putting it in my vehicle and then then the dealership give me that excuse when I need repairs...look forward to getting the link..

Oh Stacey, sure know how you were feeling, I was just ill when they did same to the boys or I had to bring them in for their shots..I'd leave the room; think it was harder on me then them and I would make them nervous as old heck..

Rose made me a beautiful fruit salad for weekend, she's leaving this aft. for Toronto to spend the weekend, a friend is celebrating her birthday tonight so guess it's party time, although she certainly doesn't seem the party type.

She told me that she wasn't looking forward to going away this weekend, too much drama in the city, said it's so nice at my place, calming, nice friends, nice co-workers (actually one is driving her to the bus after work)
says it's a different kind of life..was a compliment indeed, here I thought she'd be bored to death.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

no, my car isn't diesel, but Bob's truck is, and they're both running juuuuuuuust fine.

Well, it's time to go cook 2 turkeys for the Church's Fall Supper tomorrow - and before you ask, they will be cold when we serve them.
OH, and I'd better take the 4 doz buns out of the freezer for tomorrow, too LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, Roger did the cooking for me for the community roast beef and turkey dinners, he would set all the turkey in pans, then apply several wet t-towels on top and turn the oven slowly for just a tad and the meat was so delicious and was hot for those in attendance.

Is this your Church Thanksgiving Dinner? Imagine, only 2 more weeks and we get to celebrate Thanksgiving..should in my travels pick up turnip and my pumpkins..

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Shoot Betty, I agree with Rose 100%, your house is anything but boring, and it IS relaxing, quaint, calm, and I loved it!

The additives must be different here, Dave put a synthetic additive in his 2001 Celica and it wouldn't run, and all the cars say "Do not add additives to the gas!!" He ended up siphoning the gas out and using it in the lawn mower. It was bad.

We all have different levels and degrees of partying. My partying blows my mom out of the water, and my dad's partying blows me out of the water.

Victoria Harbour, ON

LOL, I'm not really a party'er at all, but have to tell you, because I don't drink, if for some reason I do join in and have 1 or 2, I'm as high as a kite and wild as they come..maybe that's why I stay away from it.

Thank you Crissy, I've had large homes and now this little what some family call 'dog house' is all I need, easy to keep clean and hold everything that is dear to me..

This morning sounds endless, think it's because I want to be home

Glenview, IL

Good Morning Betty and Everyone!

Bev, How wonderful, no blockage was found!
Whew, a sigh of relief...Keeping you in prayers that you are gaining strength each day.
Are you still going to rehab?

Stacey, Awww, know how tough that is. You are not a bad momma, just a loving one who don't want to see her new born hurt in anyway.
OMG, I couldn't even watch them draw blood, thought i was going to deck the nurse, lol instead burst into tears and ran from the room.
I am so glad to hear Jonathan gaining weight! He is just the cutest lil one, I have so enjoyed seeing your photos. just think he will be home in no time!

Waiving hi Janice!! Just love that you are going to help Stacey out...That is so sweet your friends are joining you to meet Baby Jonathan.

Sending you Good Thoughts and Vibes TUBBY. Where are you? Hope all is good.

Oh Linda Kay, what a big bummer on the truck! I hope you get a rentle car and it doesn't take forever to get your wheels back.

Mary, How exciting, your party is coming along nicely! Did you decide to make the CD music? I Think you are ok with invitation timing. Sometimes too early, people loose them...LOLOL, speaking from personal experience here. So how is our pup Belle?
Do try and get some time to yourself too, sounds like your going full throttle.

Debbie, How are you doing?

Dianne, Are you still cleaning? LOL...I gave up for a few days, now back "into" the mode...
To answer your question from days ago, Jacob is a Sophomore in HS...This is his second season playing football on an actual team.
We are really proud of his accomplishments thus far...LOL, he has come a Long way. Last year he was constantly in trouble for forgetting to put mouth guard in and other things. Yikes, had parents telling me he has to remember what he has to do! Well, That was so uncool of them. LOL, Asked a few if they remembered signing a parents code of ethics? ROFLOL, geesh, it's a game, for crying out loud...
This Year, Well, They have him in Starting defense, ha...And he is on call Varsity as back up! hehehe, sorry got on a roll about it.

Hi Barb! Saw yours and Norms new toy. Whistling here, it a beauty...Hey are you all settled in your new sewing room?
I have been working on the toddler blanket...OH gosh, decided I need to make Curious George bigger. Was having difficulties piecing him together...just a tad too small, Then, kept changing my mind on how to lay it out, finally decided to color a pattern and now i think I am pleased...So today lots of cutting!

Betty, Betty, So much to say...LOL. My gosh, Your Mirror/black board is Just marvelous! Yay on getting your porch screen door installed.
Had to giggle at your thinking ahead. LOL poor Bernie, well hehehe, i would think a person would want to put a kitty door in before it's hung, and Hmmm, I'm guessing you will have that door painted the minute he's done, lolol...you might wanna give it a day first.
Wow, you are having our weather from last couple of days. This morning very windy and rainy. Sun is suppose to be out this afternoon. But Cool, cool temps on the weekend...Which is fantastic, For some out door work, my list is so long, is mind boggling...And yippeee, we are to be home this weekend, so i am hoping Steve can "make" time to do a few things around here...Grrr, had the Foyer all nice and cleared for a couple of days, then he finished 2 huge jobs and it now looks like a garage again, sigh!
My Kitchen project is coming along slowly, But i have now painted 3 quarters of the dining nook. Big bummer those shelves Have to stay where they are, really no where else to place them. But i am thinking once they are painted then, It might look better...Then he is now fighting me about the blue paint...Wants me to paint that half wall the same color as the cabinets, We'll see.
Remember i took a couple of days off, Well this totally messed up my system, got my days and nights mixed up again, walking around in zombie mode during the day, lol ever see a zombie jacked up on caffeine? Ahhh, but all the laundry done, computer work, crazy and has my eyes bugged, Then off course running back and forth to school...In between sewing, visiting with the kids late night. They have been getting home past midnight so, gt to here about their days.

OH Hey Sunshine! Last night I was talking about your walk...First thing, Alissa pulls out 3 dollars, Julia and Anthony has offered to donate and i will be donating too, So will have to cut a check for you...I was telling them also about your gathering this weekend. They said Hey Tell your friends we said Hi. So Betty, Joyce and everyone Julia and Anthony waiving hi to you!

Did I tell you i applied for a job at there place...Different hours and in the office, well still waiting to hear anything, sigh.

Oh, Susan, glad to hear your hand is healing! Bet your glad to get back to sewing. How disappointing about the duet being sung by the whole choir...i am sure it willl be beautiful though...

Waiving hi Crissy, lol i love that you can close your door and not hear some of the office stuffs!

OMG, Been typing forever, LOL
With Love from your
Friendly buggeyed lurking Zombie friend!

See you at a break, got to make some cuts now.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

WAVING JUDY!!!!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Waving back as well Anthony, oooh just loved giving him a hug!!!

Lindakay,??? did you have an accident??? saw Judy referred to vehicle being repaired..yikes, hope you didn't get hurt?

It must be discouraging Judy to keep putting in resume's and hear nothing..I'd be opting seeing you have the ability and knowledge is going to work with Steve..know it's not the best senerio but am sure it would take a lot of worry away!

Judy, it's time consuming painting..isn't it odd, I can paint on a piece all day long but when it comes to house painting, yuk, would rather hire someone. If you paint the shelves then just maybe they would recede into the background and not be as noticeable.

Hard to visit with family unit when all are on different shifts...busy life for you but won't be long all your kiddies will have their drivers permit and you'll be able to sit and enjoy your freedom!

As for the new country wooden door Judy, bought the one that came painted. Know he's been working hard at it, always more trouble when it's a make shift project, but have all the faith in the world in him..funny, not that there is any sibbling rivalry going on, but gabbed to Sharon this morning and 1st thing she says, 'he's always doing work for you' yep, but I pay him, don't want anything for nothing...he needs work, I have work so it's a good partnership..he's highly underpaid by me though..lol

Did you get all your blocks done for the christmas block swap,am so pleased all of mine are done and mailed out. Now for placemat swap, aren't we creatures of habit, see a swap and just got to sign up..lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No accident Betty, just a recall for bad seat belts.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Does it take more than a few hours to replace? Better they do repairs now and NOT leave it!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Look what Norm bought last night!!! http://www.husqvarnaviking.com

Click on sewing machines and then on Mega Quilter!!!! HE wants to learn long arm quilting!!!! It comes with all the bells and whistles and also has a stitch regulator attached as well.

Glenview, IL

Whew, Got my Curious George figured out! Well the first one anyway, I am putting 2 on. Found the pics on the Web Images.
One he is standing holding a banana and the other he is sitting under the Man in the Yellow Hat's Hat...Way too cute, couldn't pass that one up, plus, i get to do some hand stitching too.

LOL, Betty, I figure it's good practice. Speaking of swaps, I am excited to have joined Linda kays's Aplique Christmas block.
But, man oh, man I can't do any more for a little bit, still have to start Row Robins, thankfully there is no time frame, but those are next on agenda! And I do Have the last four blocks to do for Barb's. Got my patterns and material, just have to designate a day to work on them, which I am planning soon...

So how is your Friday going? Have you been working on your scarf?
Hope Rose has a fun time out with friends. I am glad she feels so cozy at your house.

Well got grab some lunch...I'm starving!

Victoria Harbour, ON

LindaKay, I'm just so excited for you both, team work, can't ask for anything better..you sewing and Norm quilting..wow is all I can say..do you have it now, are you playing???? look forward to photo's

What is your Curious George Judy?

As for the applique blocks with LindaKay, Susan was mentioning it, went on the search for it but then she said it was on a different group so that leaves me out..good luck with it!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yes, this is our Thanksgiving dinner, but they call it a Fall Supper, and we have 2 "seatings" so we can feed the over-200 people who come.
Everything will be served hot, except the Turkey - we just don't have the facilities to keep it hot (except for myself - we have a cooler/heater we got years ago from Coleman, and it will keep hot food hot).

Glenview, IL

Lets see if this works!

http://blog.tystoybox.com/category/curious-george/

Curious George is a little monkey who gets into all kinds of mischif.
he was created back in 1961, i think. our company published the books.
And now i could just kick myself for passing up the Anniversary edition.
Just didn't think of down the line for it....
Anyway, The little boy i am doing the toddler blanket for loves him.

Susan, Yum, your Fall dinner sounds fantastic! Wow, that is a Great turn out too...

Betty, was sorry to hear about your vines, hmmm, can you dig out a few roots and re-locate?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well you enjoy, nothing like a church social..They are having a roast beef dinner in Vasey..church group puts it on, the pies are to die for..can't go because I won't be home from class on time..usually make it though!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, good luck with Curious George..know about him but wasn't sure the purpose of your creating him not only once but twice! You are making him the 'green' materials..earth day, always do something special here as well.

Cathy and Bernie (clean up crew) lol put all the vines in the burning pit, I do have the main root though and Sunday I'll dig it out and transplant, needs something to grab on to so perhaps the area where I've got the flower shed I built might do the trick.

I sound like a broken record don't I? planted them 3 years in a row hoping one year they'd grow and I don't know if it was the humidity this year but they grew twice their size..that will teach me to think further ahead at what projects I pick!

Lyndonville, NY

I swear.....this week needs to go away.

Last night Isabelle aka Izzy....was playing frisbee with me. Jumped to grab it as usual, came down yelping.

Long story a bit shorter.....took to vet this morning, she blew out her ACL with major damage, AND blew her knee...the meniscus.

This is just not what we need, and my poor girl doesn't like having to sit still.

Hot as anything here also. Up to 85 ...and tomorrow the high is only to be 57!

Waving to all....will be back when I can concentrate and respond to all. Until them....you will find me in the Fridge looking for a RC.

Debbie

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

OMG Debbie!!! This black cloud over your head needs to dissipate already! Poor doggie!! What do they want to do, and what can you do? Surgery is too expensive buuuuuut......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lordy Debbie, my heart goes out to you, if it were not for bad luck you'd have no luck at all! Poor Izzy, what is the vet recommending? Shaking my head, think you deserve more than an RC, do you have another larger bottle, perhaps RYE that you can add a bit of RC in a glass with it..

Wow, it never stops for you does it, must be so difficult to keep your spirits up...hugs dear friend!

Lyndonville, NY

Crissy....I don't know. And that is exactly what the receptionist said ....when is the black cloud going to go away?

Surgery is $2000 approx....depending if it goes smoothly, higher if not. Without it....she will be on medications, no running, no playing....and develop severe arthritus. She is a big girl at 86 pounds....part Newfie....so we are talking a big girl and its not going to be easy on her at all. My heart is just broken.

I was going to put her down today at the vets, and they wouldn't let me. Said I needed to talk it over with Paul......they are just prolonging our agony.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

How old is she?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Debbie, that is such a hard decision to make! And the vets should know that! Sending prayers for you and your furry friend.
I am back from town, seatbelts were replaced. I was told the locking mechanism, was not latching properly, so they had to be replaced. Yes, they gave me a loaner car, to do my running around. Susan, sounds like your going to be busy cooking turkeys, and serving this week-end! Don't burn your fingers, put on hot mitts please!
Barb, congrats on the new machine! Can't wait to see what his first project is!
Judy, you need to show pictures of curious george if you can! Would love to see what your working on!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, just no words! It's been a few hard weeks of having to make difficult decisions re your furries..how tragic that it's one after the other!
I'm sure you and Paul will do what is best for Izzy.

LindaKay, glad you got your wheels back..

Time to clean my desk..homeward bound, wouldn't you know NOW comes the rain...

Lyndonville, NY

Izzy is only four....she is the sweetest girl.
