Stacey - glad you & Chris are having some quality time, re: Jonathan. It's very important. I know he must be absolutely frantic to get him home to cuddle whenever he's awake, but that time WILL come - you just have to BREATHE.
As for the nurse wanting you to buy another pump - is it because of sterility? And as for the amount you're expressing - you're doing FINE. That too, will come, when it's Jonathan, not the pump, doing the work. You always get as much as the baby needs...... sometimes more LOL

..............he slowing moving around with help. eating solids, good spirits. I think he is finally realizing this is gonna take time! his plan was to return to work in a couple of weeks! duh! Not happin captin!!!!

did not go to hosiptal this pm. figured police presence would still be too intense. Some idiot decided this am, that he would go into hopkins hospital...shoot the md that did surgury on his mother... (that left her paralized)..and barricade himself in his mother's room on the 8th floor! my son is on the 6th floor. patients evacuated for nearly 5 hours...then this idiot shot his mother in the head...then killed hisself!

omgoodness! Jax must be beside herself...... when this was happening, it was likely televised.... I wonder - did her son get evacuated?
I'm pleased to hear her son is moving around. silly boy to think he'd go back to work in a couple of weeks LOL

Kathy, good luck on the upcoming surgery. I find it is a blessed relief getting rid of the thing ('82) and there is nothing I have to avoid as far as eating goes. Should avoid things because it makes me fat but nothing regarding GB missing.

Sending love and prayers to Jax and was relieved to read the news regarding her son's progress.

Mom is still hanging on, unable to move as hands and legs are swollen but mind still sharp!!! They are watching her closely and Sue and I are rotating turns being at the center to help feed her. She is to weak to hold anything yet. She is back on the liquid/puree diet rather than what they call "mechanical soft". Not sure why they did this but I am sure it is for a good reason. Kim and Charles came and helped us this week but they must return home so it will be up to the 2 of us to run the shifts again. Tried, stressed and still wishing she was past the dangerous stage but so far we haven't reached that point.

Susan-no-they want me to rent to hospital pump cuz they say my at home one won't have enough suction-BS-I get the same amount from the one here at home as the one at the hospital. I think the real reason is just to get the $$.

He is out of the incubator and maintaining his body temp well so far. They will probably up his calories today or tomorrow and he is up to 5lbs 10.25oz, so he is gaining a little weight. Chris enjoyed his time with him last night, but won't get to see him tonight and will have to wait until tomorrow evening. He is a pooper though and it takes me too long to get him cleaned up so he is usually upset at me during diaper changes. SIL helped me to sort the baby stuff in the living room so it no longer looks like toys R us exploded in my living room

We saw that at work online, I didn't know that her son was in THAT hospital!! I bet she IS beside herself but it's great to hear that he is improving!

Until then I won't go to far...Will have to take a few pics to show you, now he is trying to decide when to sell the Roadster, I am gonna have to put my foot down and say no more toys, lol running out of room.

I have been painting my kitchen, trying to decide if I should work on it today or just goof off again! LOL, took the weekend to do nothing but watch TV, but now i am growing restless doing that, lol...But i am having a problem keeping focus on any one thing!! So pulled a few weeds, straighten up the house again and did few loads of wash. ROFLOL, tried paper piece and well, lets just say i need to keep practicing that...

Joyce-at fist his ppop was that kind-and you are right-SO hard to get off. Now it is kinda runny and gets squished EVERYWHERE!!LOL I tried a pair of socks and then the booties and he kicked everything off-he HATES his feet covered by even a blanket-just like his mom;)

Judy-can't wait for a pic since I have no clue what a Road King is;)

Crissy-I wasn't joking about the living room-like 1/3 of it was all baby clothes, books, and things from the registry-it was everywhere;)

Jonathan is up to 11.25lbs, so he is steadily gaining weight. Yesterday was hilarious!! I fed him and held him for a while and when it was time for me to pump, SIL took over. She said he was stinky so she was going to change him. She didn't put a diaper under him first and undid the one he was wearing. It was indeed poopy and he did a little more B4 she took off the diaper. After she'd removed it and tossed it into the trash he pooped A LOT and it got all over her, his onesie and his blanket-won't go into details as I don't want to gross anyone out, but it was like a rocket!!-ROFL I started laughing and couldn't stop to help her until she had the new diaper in place. Then I changed his clothes for the first time (boy was that not easy) and we got him a new blanket. I left clothes and receiving blankets for him-wrote his name on them in washable marker so that it should wash out when I bring the stuff home. Then we came home and did the rest of his laundry and got that folded so I can get it all in his dresser and get his bed made and the rest of his room taken care of. Today I got there just as the nurse was changing his diaper (what great timing huh-LOL) and fed him from the bottle. The nurse said he took a whole bottle during the night-YEAH!!! I fed him about 1/2 and the burp I got out of him must not have been enough cuz soon after he got sick and most of what he'd just eaten came right back up. So we had to change him again and then he ate most of the rest of what he had left-just had 5ML left that had to go through the feeding tube. SIL left about 12:30 and Jonathan slept in my arms while I think I fell asleep a couple times for a minute or two. Chris came about 4 and spent some time with him and we left about 5. Chris was happy to have his Daddy fix, but he was too tired to stay longer. He worked 12.5 hrs yesterday, got about 3 hrs sleep and worked for another 10.5 hrs today.

Road King is a trucker's type of stop - general & video store, laundry, showers, gas/diesel, etc, etc, etc.
my DH goes there for diesel, because it's inexpensive and he gets air miles from them!

Stacey, so glad to hear he is gaining weight, and eating good! Babies do a lot of spitting up, what they just ate. Just make sure he is burped good. Love that picture, you look like a wonderful new Mommy!
I think Judy is talking about a Harley motorcycle called a roadking.
Well, I am too tired to remember what I just read, so I am off to get some sleep, and will try to catch up tomorrow.

Sue-it was funny;) He isn't a real suckie baby yet-he doesn't like a pacifier after he sucks on it a couple times and discovers there isn't anything good in it, he spits it out.

LK-that is what the nurse said, but I felt so bad-I know I don't like to get sick and imagine he doesn't either-if I had just gotten another burp out of him he might not have gotten so sick....poor little buddy (that is what I call him-Little Buddy...but when I change him I call him Mr. Stinkybottoms;)

Judy maybe we will either come a day early or stay a day longer then the four of us could take a ride and you and your DH could show us your neck of the woods. We are also talking about buying a new scooter. Doug has a Kawasaki Vulcan and wants to get either a Harley Davidson FatBoy or a Road Glide. I would like to get a Trike for the trip to your house. Then I could take naps along the way LMAO ^_^

We got rain yesterday now it is going back up into the 90's. I really happy about that cuz it is going to be a chilly ride come Thursday. Gonna be busy the next 3 days. Our fench is falling over into the neighbors yard so mom and I need to run some poles in the ground to hold it up, then bowling Tues morn & night, then Wed yard work, then Thursday Doug and I take off for our trip to Reno for Street Vibrations. I wished I had a small video cam so I could take videos of our ride. It is going to be awesome. I bought a new picture chip for my cam so I can take 859 pix. Wished I would have gotten it before I went to the Redwoods.

now that I keep the 2 fingers taped together it's not "tearing' between the fingers, so feels a lot lot lot better! I managed to do the dishes today (took off the wound up tape) and then put on some Polysporin again. It looks like I won't be playing piano for 1-2 weeks though. Don't want to tear it!

Glad to see Jaye is back with us. I thought our anti virus security would take care of a virus, but I guess someone always finds one that isn't detected.

DH is still doing therapy, the clinic is now our second home. At least I get some reading done. Looking forward to a week where we don't have to go anywhere. I need to get some some fun time to pay in the yard. I can't believe I'm getting some buds on my brugs. Just hope they don't fall off before I have a flower.

Oh LK, that is just what I needed to revive me! LOL

2 steps forward and yesterday we went 6 backwards. Have meeting with staff this morning so I am so hoping to find out more information as she is getting weaker daily. Sad thing, her mind is clear and alert and realizes how sick she is. Took her to dining room yesterday with aide and she was able to keep her food down. Needless to say sister and I are really getting scared.

Jonathan is up to 5lbs, 12oz, so every day he has gained 1/4-3/4 lb and will soon be over 6lbs:) It was funny yesterday I was holding him and could feel him pooping-then the smell hit and I started laughing at the fact that someone so small could make such a stinkie. Waited to change him til it was bath time (about a half hr) and when I took the diaper off there was so much and it was SOOO super stinky I started laughing again. We got that changed and then I gave him a bath-tried to hurry since he doesn't like it-the nurse gave him a binkiw so he wouldn't cry the entire time-worked well too. Then I put one of his onesies from home on him and tried to breastfeed-he just kept looking at me like "Mom-what are you doing sticking this thing in my face" and after a couple of minutes we decided it wasn't happening-I think he was too tired after then bath. The Dr upped him to 48 ML and added a multi vitamin and iron to his daily diet. The night nurse fed him every other time from the bottle and he took about 25ml each time which is what he took from me for his first feeding as well. He was so pooped after the bath we did the feeding tube for the 2nd one.

Auntie M-(((((((HUGS)))))) I wish I could give it to you in person!!
