AH HA!!!! The guilty Party!!! There she be! NOW aint you shamed of yourself, eatin all Netties Muffins?

Booneville, AR

i made a fool of myself at the fair over a upside down peach cake it was so good icould have eat yhe whole cake by myself but had to share with everyone else, it wone first place oh yes and a good choice, i hate it that the judges get sick from all the sweet things i only have to be asked once to help. with the food .those judges just sit and eat a little of everything i guess you would get sick after a while but not of peach cakewiah i had the recipe for the cake bet my dau got it. ill call and ask her. best idea ive had all day. love nettie yes i do pin and ink art work not as i did at one time its hard on your eyes and you must have a steady hand. im going to work with one of the grand kids see if i can get them to take it up,

Good idea nettie. I sure don't have a steady hand nor good eyes so I guess it wouldn't be my cup of tea. I always loved to see the drawings though. Someone drew a pencil sketch of my sister and it was sooo cool. I just wish I could do stuff like that.
I'd love to have the cake receipe for peaches. I use preserves to make the muffins. It is thicker and richer. More peachy taste. (Just ask Marti)

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

Burp! Burp! I'm still taking the fifth! LOL

BTW. I have a recipe for peach upside down cake made in a crockpot. I've also made it in the over. Think I'll make me one. Got a hunger for more peaches. OPPS! I mean for some peaches.

I WANT THAT RECIPE for the crock pot. I'd love to try it. That sounds easy enough for an idiot uh I mean me.

Booneville, AR

anyone know how to take a picture of art work under glass im afraid i will get a bad glair from yhe light, and i don.t won.t to take them out of the frames they are sealed in them. and thats alot of work.nettie

Not sure nettie, unless you take it straight in front of you, like straight down on it. I think if it slants the glare shows. I'm no photographer so Maybe Al could help. He takes good photos.

Booneville, AR

thank you al the flowers are beautiful. i love pink nettie

I'm surprised Marti didn't get them too. She got your muffins nettie I made just fer you. ;0)

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Dang! I missed the muffins - lol. They looked delicious anyways...

Tomatoes are self-pollination - no need for bees;o) A good breeze or shake the plant and the pollen will drop. They grow successfully in a greenhouse so don't see why they wouldn't grow inside if you had a nice sunny spot!

Well, Maine was fabulous! The weather was fantastic and now I'm back to the desert heat - around 110° for the next week or so - argh!

Booneville, AR

ill just try it several ways, someone showed me one time and i can,t remember who it may come tome if i think about it long enough. if anyone comes up with the answer please let me know nettie.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Nettie - my camera has a "museum mode" where there is no sound or flash. I think if you don't use the flash and take the pic when light is not putting your shadow on the glass it should be OK. It's easier to do than it is to explain - lol.

Booneville, AR

mekos don.t wory about the food it goes around my house like that and no one knows who ate it. i don,t even ask anymore. the youngest son lives a stonen throw from us in a double wide his wife won,t buy junk food but they know someone who does.yes they do.love and hugs thanks for the muffins hope the house didn.t get to hot.i have two new books can.t wait to get into trying some of the things in this botanical illustration in warercolor by eleanor wunderlich she does beautiful work hope she is a good teacher. and i can learn from her. she works for the brooklyn botanic garden ive seen some or her work so i can,t wait to see if i can do this imost times wait until winter when i can,t get outside to do anything. ireally wont to try this though so may use the heat as an excuise to start early.

Booneville, AR

loca will get my son over here to take the pictures for me i think he ate all my twinkies. or that kaci dawn dau of his.

Hornell, NY(Zone 5a)

If you're shooting against glass, Nettie, you must have the flash unit on your camera turned off. Otherwise just look for some nice natural light, perhaps under a porch or something to prevent the glare.

Oh that's awful Nettie! Praying it's not serious - poor little guy!

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

To make Peach Upside down cake in the crockpot, you need a couple of things. You need a baking dish at least 3 1/2 - 4 inches deep that will fit inside your crockpot. I had a large round crockpot that worked good for this recipe. I wish I had brought it from Calif with me, but thought I could replace it here. Now I can't find a round crockpot anywhere in this town. All of them are oblong and I havn't found an oblong baking dish that will work.

Once you have the proper baking dish that will fit inside the crockpot, than you need to take aluminum foil and fold it several times to make a long piece of foil. You need 2 of these strips. You will use these, crossed to lower the baking dish into the crockpot and remove it when done.

Now for the cake You will need:
1 box of Pound Cake mix
1 large can of peaches or you can use fresh or frozen ones.
a handfull of pecans (I prefer chopped walnuts)
Brown sugar
Butter/margrine
Bottle of cherries (optional)

In the bottom of the baking dish you melt 2 - 3 tablespoons of butter/margrine, than cover the bottom of the dish with brown sugar, nuts, and add cherries if you want cherries. Mix the pound cake per box instuctions but add 1 teaspoon Almond Extract. Pour slowly over Brown Sugar mixture. Place dish on crossed foil pieces and lower into crockpot. Turn crockpot on high for 3 1/2 - 4 hours or low for 6 - 8 hours. When done, lift dish out with foil strips and place on counter. Place plate on top and carefully flip over and let sit for about 5 minutes. Than slowly lift off baking dish. I like it served warm with a little whipped cream.
I've been making this here and putting it in the over as I don't have the crockpot and it comes out good.
