great job Bill.. looks wonderful
Fall RU in Ma
Love your red squirrel shot, John!
Bill, looks perfect! Where are the weeds???????
Karen
Love the portals from one section to another....
Can't wait to see it in person!!!
bought a car today - tomorrow maybe lantern:)
karen there are weeds and they really ------ me --- - just weeded the whole yard the last two weeks - this heat and humidity is causing havoc
What did you buy, Bill?
Yep, I'm curious, too. One of my girlfriends just bought a new Cadillac crossover....I loved the luxury....my cars are dogmobiles.
looked at camry, accord, and altima - very disappointed with the accord, was very loud on the road - altima was stylish and the interior really nice, not as loud as the accord, did not like the way it rolled, foot of the gas and it slowed real quick - went with the 2011 camry - just a very solid car, quiet, good gas mileage, and suprisingly quick - toyota is offering some great deals trying to get over the bogus (my opinion) gas pedal sticking deal - got it for 2100 under invoice and 0% financing
Smart man, Toyota is one tough cookie IMHO, if you saw what DH did with his truck, you'd understand what I was talking about. This truck is 9 years old, been used to haul cow manure, as a skidder, haules boats, trailer, ect... and can still sit you back in the seat when he steps on it. ^_^
Nice, Bill. I have a friend who bought a Camry last year, a red one, and she loves it. My sister and niece both have Corolla's, and they just last and last. I had a Ford Escort that lasted me 8 years and over 200K miles. I really loved that car, but finally needed something better. I then got a Ford Focus, which I really liked, but it got totaled when someone rear-ended me. Now have a 2007 PT Cruiser, and I love it, but not good on gas.
Karen
Try a Tahoe! The gas station folks know me. But it hauls around 2 big dogs, plants, & occasionally, rocks! Gave Doug's '00 F-150 to Garret....bought it used, never a day of trouble.
I just found this thread. Sounds great! I was going to visit my parents in NC mid-September, but maybe I can go before or after the roundup. I've missed both round-ups so far this year, so I'd really like to come, and I think this one is closer. Is Pepperell near Brookline, NH or am I confused? I bought a GPS after getting lost on my way to the last 2 roundups, but being a technophobe, I haven't figured out how to use it yet.
I know it's a neighboring town of Nashua NH, I go through Nashua to get there! : ) I'm not sure where Brookline is.
Yes, Brookline and Pepperell are very close. Meredith, Brookline is just west of Hollis.
pepperell and brookline touch i think - very close.
Brookline sounded familiar, I have never been further west than Pepperell and Hollis.
Meredeth, are you new to the area? You should take a drive along 101 toward Keene in the fall.
I'm canceling my Fall vacation and coming North to see your garden. LOL
WOW what a beautiful garden you have. Ric sent me over for a peek he said "You have gotta go look at Bill's garden" and he was right.
Holly, You could take a vacation up this way and go leaf peeping afterwards :)
I would love to! It would be so nice to see Bill's place and meet many of you in person and see those I have met again.
We have a little over 5 weeks of traveling from the beginning of Sept till the end of Oct with only a few weeks home between. We will be home that weekend but trying to fit another trip in would really be hard, if there is anyway we feel we could get there we will but don't count on us.
We have 2 weeks in Duck, N.C. and then home for a week and 1/2 then down to Fl. (this trip will be for fun) for a week, up to Charleston, S.C. for a few days and on to Duck, N.C. for another week. Then 2 weeks later I leave for a SCUBA trip. This Fall will be a busy time for us. Holly
Sounds wonderful!!!
Holly, I just started reading a book that takes place in Duck, NC...it's called Timely Vision by Joyce & Jim Levene...light reading, but well written. They have also written a series of books whose heroine owns a plant store in SC.
Songs of Joy, that sounds like a great idea! I remember a long time ago going on motorcylce ride that was around the Keene area. It was summer though. I'm not new to the area,I grew up in Dracut which isn't very far, just never get out west of here. I've been to western parts of mass. I usuall stick to the coast or lake regions when I go places. : )
I meant to say, I first think of Brookline Mass when I hear Brookline.. then I remember there's one in NH! :)
oopsy typo

Thanks Robindog, I'm always looking for light reading at the beach and there is a great Bookshop in Duck as well as several second hand book shops.
OK Folks now we have some action. For those of you comming from the Boston area same directions as going to Brookline or Hollis NH. Get your GPS working or check out Google maps.
For those comming a long distance and looking for some thing to do on Sunday there is TOWER BOTANICAL GARDENS in Boylston, MA, about 30 miles from Wha's. http://www.towerhillbg.org/
Thats it for now, Have a wonderfull day,
John
I'm gonna try to get there, too. After having to miss the summer RU at Karen's garden (nutsfordaylily's) I'm really wanting to go the fall one at Bill's. Can't wait to see those garden beds in person!
Tower Hill looks almost as interesting as Bill's. I'm surprised they still have their Moss Steps. LOL Ric
will have to check out that tower hill site later
everyone should remember a camera only takes a picture where it is pointed!
What a great photo, John.
Thanks for the info. I went through Brookline NH on my way to Mason Hollow Nursery this spring. I remember it because,( as thanks to congress it is now illegal to buy cheap cigarettes through the mail), I happened upon the one place still in existence to buy reasonably priced cigarettes in Brookline NH (you have to rent their industrial rolling machine). I've been there once since, but my friend who grew up in Groton came with both times and helped direct. Now I have an incentive to figure out the GPS.
if you went to mason hollow you went probably went up 119 past my house. if you can get to 119 my street if off 119 not to far past the nashua river. if your friend in groton knows there way around they cut through pepperell to get up to mason hollow faster.
Wow...I had folks stand in the parking spot I was trying to get into the other day (with my 95 yr old Mom).... they did not move, & neither did I....my Mom was going to say something nasty, but I gave them the "death" look.
The 'death' look accompanied by debilitating thoughts is very powerful mojo for weinerbrains.
Congrats on the new car wha. What colour is it? (geesh the most important thing is the colour and he doesn't say)
metalic gray or it that grey? i know not bright red like you vehicle
Is it silvery metalic grey or matte metalic grey? Silvery metalic grey would be a lively, playful car: good for tooting around in. Does it have a good horn for tooting? Matte metalic grey would be a restful car: good for naps on long road trips (unless you're driving of course) and leisurely Sunday afternoon tours through the countryside rock hunting. Does it have a good size trunk for rocks?
ahhh according to toyota it's a classic silver metallic and not grey at all unless it's the sandy beach metallic? Both are very luvly colours. Which interior: bisque or ash?
http://www.toyota.com/camry/exterior-360.html
with ash interior.
I was thinkin you would have ash. Bisque would make me hungry all the time mmmm bisque mmmm.
Dnut, when people ask me what new car I got, I say a pretty blue one!
