awww that sounds so cute! Go get Your Camera

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Happ I know it was early, but I wanted you to have something for your birthday. With me being away I had to mail it before I left. Enjoy and yes I did make it. It is made out of polymer clay and a piece of flatware from my MIL estate.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Oh neener it is sooo cool. I thought it was made with clay, I have watched those creative shows and seen them do things. I just love it. Means even more knowing it was made by you. I brought it to work today to show to everyone and it is on my desk which is where I spend the majority of my life. DH even commented about it being so cool and right up my alley.
Thank you so much and what a surprise.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

awww Happy Birthday early, Joyce.... I am sure I wll miss it with work and all. Thank you, Neener for the cute and sweet get better card. DH really liked it. Did you make it? I am putting it with my other favorite cards from people, I have already made one collage of cards and now I am building up my friendship card collage. Some ones prayers are working, I went the whole day with only one half of a pain pill, and even was able to pull a few blades of grass from the flower beds. Everything is crisping like they are in a toaster oven it is so hot here right now. Poor babies..

here is one of my favorite calming views off the patio..

So glad you're feeling better. "Prayer changes things" Debra in the photo of the view from your patio, what is the vine with the trumpet blooms and very large leaves? It is beautiful..
Praying you will continue getting well.

That looks like a morning glory?

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Oh yes, I can't have an area anywhere without a morning glory pole growing. ;) it was so hot today so many things look sunburned poor darlings.. I had to coo to them to hang in there until this heat front passes.
this looks kinda ugly with the crooked pot there, and the shower caddys are everywhere growing things. I like to move them around, and this weekend we are re- arranging this area. This is behind me where I sit in the am on the patio, bean patch directly behind that.

That one looks like a beautiful gladiola?

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

home for lunch, yes a gladiola I forgot I had planted it. They are popping up everywhere.
if we are lucky, we might get seeds from the iochromas this year, they are in bloom constantly.

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Love those glads. Almost my favorite flower. Can't grow them where I am now. When we retire I am going to have one whole field of glads and zinnias. :0)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debra, do you have to stake your glads?

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Doing happy dance in my seat. THANK YOU Debra. Got the wonderful box of Angel Trumpets today. (Postage will be mailed tomorrow.) They were hot and most all of the larger leaves were off but they are still green and will be put in pots this day. I cannot thank you and Joyce enough for your kindness. These are the combined plants. Joyce yours are in water and are beginning to nub.

dahtzu, I am glad the brugs are doing good for you. Won't be long and you will have them all in the ground.
I want to go to your daylily farm.....that is quite a haul. I went to the daylily "farm" yesterday Colliers Garden. He had some beautiful daylilies in bloom, what he has done is he gives you a catalog and then you actually go to his house and he has 3 seperate big gardens of daylilies. They were beautiful, then around trees he has daylilies already potted up, and since it was 190 degrees and humidity of 200% we would walk the gardens go to the shade go back to the garden and so on and so on. If it is potted up you can take it with you, if it is in the garden at the house and then there is another garden that he won't let you go to he will dig and you can come back and get them or have him mail them to you. I think he does more mail order than people in person but we had a great time. I bought three and if you spent over $25.00 he gave you another daylily. Oh I saw "primal scream" a $25.00 daylily and it is unbelieveably beautiful. Then the other that was beautiful was "bio hazard" OMG they both were amazing. I did NOT buy either, as soon as I did something like that the dog would eat them I am sure of it. We are going back in July to see the late bloomers. Think I spent 33.00 for 3 plants, but got 4 only one did I get to take home, the others have to be dug. I can say he is very knowledgeable about daylilies. Wowzer. It was horrible hot. Then a front came thru and today was really nice.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Oh I am so glad they are not dead! DH dug up the potatoes tonight so I had a good fresh baked ( microwaved) russett with butter... he is so proud of his haul.. now I have the whole tater patch to move things to! *Big Evil Grin, here* he promised to help me this weekend. Full sun and it will be full of tomatoes, zinnias and other full sun things. I have some day lillies coming up and blooming from tropic man and others, but have no clue what they are. I will send more plants, Faye. do you remember what temple goddess looked like?
okay have to go to my sons and feed my furr granbaby, Chief. He is prolly starving. Keep the prayers coming please.. my back doesn't hurt much unless I bend lift pull or push. at least now I can walk!

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Debra, I would like you to meet "Temple Goddess" She is worthy of her name.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

OH! She is white! I love white! she is beautiful! uhm... how about I see if she has an off shoot to send you back? LOL

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

dahtzu, that is a beauty! Lovely blooms, mine are just now starting to have teeny tiny okras on them, you have to look real hard but I can see them.

I potted and repotted lots of things yesterday, mostly tropicals. Wish I could arrange pots cause I sure have alot of pots. My voodoo lily is growing like crazy. No bloom course I am not sure I want a bloom, I love the leaf it is just beautiful.

Hopefully I will get a camera this weekend. Fingers crossed. I really miss not having one. Going back to the daylily place Saturday to pickup my plants, deejay is having another daylily swap late summer, hummm I may have to look around....LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Faye, Temple Goddess is beautiful! None of my brugs have any blooms, but I do believe they are finally getting teeny tiny buds.

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Checking in for the last time until Sat. night. Leaving this morning going to the RU and wishing everyone of you could be there. Love you ladies, take care, do not get to hot and know you are continually in my prayers.
AYF, Faye

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Have a good time Faye, don't bring home more than you can plant! LOL!

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Oh, you are going to have so much fun. Stay cool and bring home lots of fun things for the garden!

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

Well the things I'm bringing you Faye are already in pots. It's been so blasted hot who knows when we'll be able to get back to real gardening.
Everyone have a great week-end.....wish you were all coming too! Will be back Sunday.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I have a question. We burn all our extra cardboard boxes and papers, so it does not fill the landfill. Can I use those ashes in the garden, or will it hurt the soil?

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

My Gardening meeting on compost and stuff says it is better to shredd the cardboard or use it in a garden bed lasagna style and do not us ashes of anything in your garden. This was a meeting that some Mastergardeners here in Kansas held.
