(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I am mailing out Monday, Faye, cuz they will sit in the PO if I mail out sooner, but I will get them to you, I promise. How about some Monarda and some Moonraker penstamons?

Thumbnail by joeswife
Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

dahtzu, what kind of cuttings do you like, do you like them green or brown or both? When I was watering I was looking and I can do several cuttings from different plants.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Joyce when are we ever going to go out and play??

Thumbnail by joeswife
Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Now sound good....rofl?

Where ya wanna play at? What crazy schedule do you have currently?

Hey I never even ended up in Wichita, my boss called off my trip because all the Pres's and Vice Pres's were all going to be out of town.......

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Debra, quote How about some Monarda and some Moonraker penstamons? If that's the bloom in the picture, It's beautiful and I have never heard of it.
happgarden I do not know the difference in the wood in rooting. I will gladly pay postage on any and give them my best shot.
Thank you both so much

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

The bloom in the above picture is called gloriosa daisey a member of the rudbeckia family. I have tons of seeds from them.
here is monardas these are called Garden View Scarlet.. I collect them and have about 5 or 6 kinds so far.

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Debra, those blooms are awesome.

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Love those monardas! I planted a small one from the nursery a few weeks ago. Then my neighbors mules went on a midnight run and it got trampled. Fortunately that was the only damage this time. :(

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

This fall I am dividing and thinning my monardas and they root stems are what come up in the spring so let me know around october to get them sent and then they will be ready come spring for ya all.

Faye, I'm so glad several people are able to share Brugs with you. I know how sick you were losing the majority of yours. I really loved spending time with you and wouldn't trade that for anything in the World :) Y'all are just the greatest bunch of folks for helping her out!

I'd love to trade Monardas with any of you. I have a NOID Magenta rec'd last year in a trade in a 4" pot that's now easily 4' tall and is putting out buds. I'll take pics and post them when they bloom. Also have a Helenium and a different Blanket Flower from the one Debra posted. The pic of them was taken today. Edited to say I'll look up their names if anyone's interested in either plants or seeds.

those are just like my helens flowers..( Autumn lillipop) I sent out a ton of those in plants and seeds last year, I hope everyone likes them as well as I do.. the pictures of those I posted are the gloriosa daisey, but I have like four kinds of black eyed susan type flowers.. this one gets as large as your hand, my DH loves these things. The red monarda if I can see it will either be garden view scarlet or jacobs cline, I sent out a ton of those last year too in swaps and stuff. My whole back yard perimeter is lined with monardas, gloriosa daiseys and four colours of cone flowers right now..the four o clocks are blooming now too and the whole and yellows smell like heaven blended in with the white moon flowers and the brugmansias

these are smaller like a typical black eyed susan, only really tall

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Pretty pretty guys. I have black eyed Susans in one of my gardens. I like it cause I just let it go where ever it wants. Course I always have the last say rather it stays there or not....LOL
My daylilies are starting to pop open. Here is a pic of a spider that needs to be moved. It is under a big old tree but blooms pretty well inspite of it all.

Look what we are getting tomorrow!
Our truck is 6 years old, and lots of small things keep going out on it, so it was time to trade it for something else.

I got a Itouch MP3 player for my birthday. Anyone know how to work it? I went to Itunes and created an account, but that is as far as I got with it.

Beautiful flowers everyone!

OH! Congrats! That is beautiful, Linda Kay. Sorry I have no clue about the tech question.

Joyce that lilly is pretty.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Boy what a nice vehicle.....love new cars.
I am about to get mine car paid off .... hurray! DH says I need a new one, this one has 87,000 miles told him he better keep it running cause I am not buying a new one for atleast a year.....I drive about 100 miles a day so I wear them out so fast! I am not sure working is economical....LOL

Debra, I got a bunch of spider daylilies this year. I bought some for a swap and the seller sent enough for me to keep 1 of each....yeah! Love swaps....fofl.... Having said that why is it I always get the swapper who doesn't list what they want or they already have 29,999 varieties of it....LOL Course no one says I have to participate, but I do enjoy it.....think they have a word for people who enjoy pain and agony..... ;D

Lilies and daylilies are popping out, but my camera is messing up as usual.....

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

dahtzu, I didn't get mailed on Monday, but went out today at lunch. Don't worry about postage, just pass the favor forward.
I think I sent Versi Peach (got from AuntB), Cassie Curls, and I have forgotten the third, dang. They are all marked. One wouldn't fit in the box so I cut it in two pieces. I left a few little leaves on it, but they didn't look too happy right before I closed the box. They were fine when they were in the pond....oh well. You should get them shortly.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Faye, I have your cuba peachy, yard sale yellow, autumn treasure, and a young b arborea ready to send. I fear if I send it tommorrow it will sit somewhere, please advise me. This will be the first box. I also have some others to uproot and/or cut, but I can't bend yet. sorry.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I am sure I will have more brug cuttings later, I kind of got off to a late start this year, (which is like every other year...LOL).

Debra, I am like you I would hate to think a plant is setting at a po somewhere over the weekend.

Beautiful day today, course I won't get to play..... so sad... LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debra, sorry to hear your hurting so much. Hope your feeling better soon!

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Hello, Debra I do hope you are feeling much better. As for mailing plants now, I have no clue. Maybe if they were wet down good, but , shucks, I can't answer ...I'm to excited at getting them to make any decision about mailing. Anytime I get them is going to be a great day for me. Thank you both so much.
Faye

OK, gals, I've been reading yours posts and am still playing catch-up since we got home Friday.

Ya know around here, LK, our blood runs Ford Blue, but I'm loving your new Chevy SUV. Congrats!! Just don't tell hubby I said so....lol It's a beautiful vehicle and should serve you well for many years to come. Did you get the one in the pic that's gunmetal gray?

Debra, I had no idea you were in such pain, either. Take care of yourself. Twenty years ago I had to have 3 vertebrae in my upper spine fused together & the neurologist went through the front of my neck. I still bear the scar but it's hardly noticable after all these years. He told me when I healed I'd have the back of a 10-year-old child and he was right til 10 more years passed and arthritis set in. You know what I mean about have a tight rubber band feeling. I really feel for you and the pain you must be in. Take care of yourself.

Vacation was wonderful and ever since we've been home I've been digging and potting plants to trade or giveaway at our Round-Up on June 26th. Still have about 300 photos either from vacation or the gardens to work on but I'll eventually get there. Gosh dang, it's been so awfully hot here in the 90's for days with such high humidity, it's just hard to walk outside and breath. I work a little while, wipe with a cold wet washcloth, and try to keep going.

Faye, I meant to tell you when I planted the Coleus you gave me, there was a Frog in the coffee can. I have no idea if he hitched a ride from the campground or jumped in after we were home. I'm such a ninnie about frogs that little fellow scared me to death...lol

happ, look at the Asiatic Lily "Algarve" you gave me with double blooms. I hope my pic isn't of epic proportions since I'm using hubby's laptop and am trying to get used to his photo program.

That lilly photo is awsome and I can almost smell it..

Debra, go to this site, fill out the info, and you can pay for postage on your computer, and the postman will pick it up the next day. You don't have to haul boxes to the post office and stand in line anymore. I just started doing it this way, this week, and it is really nice. I use my bathroom digital scales to weigh the package.

The Acadia is Medium brown metalic. It is one of those colors, that it depends on what angle, and how much light. But it is a pretty color. My son said it looks like a cup of latte.

Glad your back with us, and sounds like you had a great time on your vacation!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Oh that is a beautiful colour.. congrats again on that! My daughter is thinking about trading her equinox in.. GS is now driving .. wish college girl was.. I swear i can NOT go OUTSIDE without wanting to either move a pot or tub, tug at a leaf, pick up the watering can, stretch across the flower bed to tear at a vine in the way.. This is not working at all for me.. no one is there when I am so I am just gonna stay inside and * POUT*

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

FOTV, I like that lily. I went around before our daily evening rain and took pics with the thunder going....90's and humid here, suppose to be 95 Saturday, it is either going to snow in August or be 195! dang. I bet you are behind.

Debra, I think it is good to wait, I would rather wait even in a swap and be late than to send and have it sit in a post office.
You just need to baby yourself for awhile instead. Those weeds will wait for you and those pots.....least mine seem to wait for me along with housework...and other fun things.

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

We used to have a taupe colored Jeep that changed colors in the sunlight, if that makes sense. There's nothing like the smell of a new car. Congrats, LK!

Take it easy, Debra, lean on us and pout whenever you feel like it. I know how active you're used to being and how hard it is for you not being able to do much while you're recouperating. Like my Mom used to say "Take it one day at a time. Rome wasn't built in a day."

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Good morning all and welcome back Susan. Can't tell you how much you are missed here. The Lily is beautiful and for any of you who wants one, let me know...I love sharing. Also have lots of yellow and orange ones.
Love the new vehicle and hope you will have many happy trips with it.
Debra, please, the most important thing is for you to be pain free. Anything else can wait.

Well I know it's my own doings, but I miss "the club". Sure hope everyone there will keep it going and be happy.
Love and hugs to all
Faye

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Morning all, it is a sunshiney day today and gonna hit mid 90's. Storms later this evening as usual, we had horrible winds last night and just a tad of moisture. Winds knocked over one of my planters that was really starting to look good.... :C But it will be ok.

FOTV, I know how those jumping frogs can shock you when you don't know they are there....LOL Still better than a snake....least I think.

Here is my big plant mover I have been talking about. It is actually to move 50 gallon barrels of whatever but works great for my pots. It works good in the yard, but not so much in the mulch. I can get it to go in the mulch but have to put the mulch back because it rides low. Good thing about riding low is I just tip the pot and stick the edge under the pot and slide it on.

Editted to say: Oh yeah, that is Sam the tree, book, cushions, sticks, plastic flower pots, eating, digging, and all time sweetie dog....LOL

dahtzu, I have lilies maybe we could exchange a few. I need to get out and mark mine with names while they are in bloom, I have all the packages with the pictures but markers come and go.....
What "club" are you missing? You can be a part of my club, course I don't have one but we could start one if that would help.

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

Are you talking about the B-day Club? Why don't you come on back, Faye, since we can send plants now.

Nice toter, happ. There was one of those blue 55 gallon heavy-duty plastic barrels at the dumpster yesterday when I took off the trash. Now I'm wishing I'd hauled it home to either make a rain barrel or cut it in half for a big ol pot.

Bad "Hair" day.

Thumbnail by FruitOfTheVine
Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

fotv, is that one of those alliums? Oh how funny! Love that thing.
Wouldn't want to haul home just any of those blue barrels, there is some nasty stuff in some of them. On craigslist around here you can find them from the coca cola place and stuff like that so you know there was food stuff in them. Probably wouldn't want one that had vinegar in it either..LOL

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Here is a pic of some of my lilies, little dark red guys....

Just a note I am not buying any more hybrid coneflowers. See the pink ones, for 3 years they were white......lost my orange, just not doing something right. I even removed the volunteer pink ones when they grew around my white.

oops noticed in the thumbnail the lilies aren't showing you will have to expand it. Hopefully I didn't cut them off....

edit to say: that is my big allium...LOL and sorry for the blurry picture need to buy a new camera and then figure out how to take pictures....

Happ I love that plant mover!! I adore the elephant ears on the plant mover.. You can send them to me. I planted some and they didn't even try to come up. I don't know whats with me and EE's and caladiums.

Faye come back to us. It is easier now. I would love to get plants. That just seemed like the common sense approach anyway.

Just killing time before I have an appointment. I had these middle of day deals. Can't get focused on doing anything else.

Actually have the survivors of the coleus farm perking up. This is Watermelon. Had 125 varieties at the beginning of last winter. I think there may be 20-25 left. What a disaster!

Thumbnail by rvnsbrk
Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

rvnsbrk, I have the same luck as you with coleus. Caladiums and ee's we get alogt pretty good. You know that ee, I kind of think I planted it upside down. I bought the root ball at a flower lawn & garden show and forgot to ask how to plant, but if you look in the center you will see the top of the ball (which) I thought was the top but all the leaves come out in the dirt around it......which now makes me think either the whole thing should of been planted or I planted it upside down....what do you think?

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

LOL, Susan just re read your post about the little frog. I'm sorry you were frightened, but that little fellow is a true garden friend. I have seen several on the patio and when they are there, no spiders.
Thank you Susan and Nita for the invite back, of all the post I've typed and lost without sending, I'm wishing my last one on the Bday club had been one of them.
Joyce thank you so much for your offer, I know any club with you would have to be good....Flower Queen maybe or do you paint? so many talented ladies here it's hard for me to remember who does what.
ANDDDDDD a great big thank you Joyce for the Angel Trumpets, "Equador Pink", "Peach Versa" and "Cassie's Curl" received them today and your postage will be in the mail tomorrow. They are looking kinda rough now but I will do my best to love them back to GREEN health. Just let me know the colors of Lilies you want. My Coleus and Caladiums are doing beautiful at the moment and I will gladly share those too. Will show yellow Lilies, Coleus and Caladiums.

Showing only large pot with 2 Coleus. Have others, lol but the pic. I took shows them with Seven Dust and that isn't pretty.
