Raining here now - as usual, it started at bus time.
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 69
Rain, windy, chilly 51
52*F and light rain . I really need to do some weeding! Ric
60 and on/off rain for 2 days.
Steady rain here now. 1/4 inch so far today.
Well the rain got here sooner than they had predicted. Will be heavy rain over night. Timed my echinacea planting perfectly though, just putting the tools away and the rain started coming down. Temp is 51 degrees. Very light southerly wind. We should get over an inch by tomorrow.
64 and overcast here. Rain coming tonight and tomorrow. We need it here with all the stuff I planted and one outdoor faucet taken apart and awaiting the plumber. It's so old that we can't get the replacement parts for that technology anymore. One downside of a house that is so so old. $125 to upgrade to "modern" plumbing. Gotta have it. Had to be very disciplined today at Home Depot. Saw a few plants I wanted, but I need the water more! LOL
I had to replace an outdoor faucet, part of the pipe, & the insulation....one of son's friend who works with a plumber did it all....worked for hours & asked if $125 was OK....I did give him more! Rainy & 50.
I would like an additional faucet outside. Would also like my outdoor faucets to bypass the softener.
Collected pollen. Used a bit on one iris, but the first flowers are too faar past on ones which I want to pod. Have to wait for the next set of buds. 2 out of the first 3 tries took. A pink SDB had an extra bud, so used my last anther on it.
That's exciting, Lucy! One of these days I'd like to try that. My Mom was very accomplished at crossing orchids. I missed that flower gene!
Marilyn - sounds like you got a good deal, even with the extra tip!
Victor - it shouldn't be too complicated to get what you want with the bypass. The best thing I ever did when we put in our new well here was to ask them how much it would cost to trench up to my garden area and put in a faucet up there for my garden sink. It only cost $100 more than the well, and that was THE BEST money I've ever spent! I love my garden sink & use it so much. It was the original cast iron farm sink and cabinet that was put in our kitchen when the house was upgraded around the end of the 19th century. We did some modest upgrades to add cabinets etc. in 1990. Hank dug me a dry well of stones under the drain pipe area, and now i can wash veggies and do all the other stuff you need water for. We cover it up with a big mower cover when we take off for the winter.
Very nice, Louise!
52 now going to 65.. more rain today... going to be one of those weeks... I see 81 for tomorrow
Overcast with a light drizzle this morning. Heavy rain last night. Hope it will start to clear this afternoon. Tomorrow looks nice and the present temp is 51 degrees with little wind.
same here
Raining and dreary.....need it to water my newly planted babies. ^_^
Sunny and hot tomorrow!
Cloudy & 50 right now....I'm heading up to MA to Ward's Nursery....love to be in the greenhouses on a day like today.
only 20% chance of drizzle high of 68 but cloudy
Tomorrow they say going to 80 and sunny
Rain at present & all night.
Drizzling. 55.
57°, 'real feel' 49°, wind N 9.9mph, cloudy
- nice cool pleasant day here.
Ended up with an inch yesterday. Good for the garden!
57 and overcast.
Yes, good for my back too, otherwise I'd have to be dragging hoses all over the place.☺!
Lol I read that as "itch" I was like "why would being itchy help your garden???" hee hee
Funny.
I've had the pellet stove going yesterday and today. Very chilly and damp.
on and off drizzle continues
56 and sunny. NEED to weed.
Rain during the day is tapering off now.
light rain continues to fall
Sun coming out now here. 64.
Perfect day here today, 63°.
I've had the heat on for the past 2 days. The drizzle followed me all the way home from Mass. Still misting right now, but son is picking up the brush....yes!
Imagine if we did not have daylight savings-it would be getting light before 4:30!
yuck
I hate daylight savings, imagine living in Alaska, now that's a real challenge!
The heat almost kicked on here but not quite.
Surprisingly it didn't get that damp and cold in our family room like it usually does.
oh mine kicked on last night... and I am sure again tonight
No need for heat here, 60° ☺!
54 now going to 81
