Crazy weather continues. Very windy. Frost warnings. May???
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 69
We're up to 55 now, but that wind is just , well, WINDY!!!
A mini ice age in the North due to global warming, (don't ask...), . I made the mistake of planting my dahlias last week. - They look like lettuce leaves that have been left out of the fridge for 3 days. - and no rain to boot! I'm watering my lawn/ garden now, I hope I don't have ice in the am!
Man It is downright chilly out there, need a jacket. and what is with this wind????
Yep, still windy here....played pick up sticks in the yard ...only one was large.
one word......brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
50 and windy today. Weeded with a jacket on.
36 now going to 55... rain later on
32 here...was 31. That is colder than any of the forecasts on the weather sites I check. But I don't see any frost anywhere.
Cold this am. Recorded low 33 degrees town on one side of me and 29 degrees on the other side. Sun is out and wind is calm. No visible frost. The very dry air and low dew point of 27 may account for the missing frost that was forecast. So many buds on so many plants , hoping that they didn't get nipped and still will bloom. Hope everyone else's garden come through okay.
41°, clear
was under 30 here - cold
What a beautiful morning! No wind!!!! YAY!!!!!!
low was 37 42 right now
chance of showers after 2pm then rain till Saturday(we need it here)
Up to 48 already. Went down to 34. Looks nice for most of the day. Then the rain comes. I'll try to get the JM's planted.
Back lawn was frosty at 6 this morning....no frost on the front lawn, which is much higher. Rain forecast for tomorrow, & will cancel a bird walk I was looking forward to, so guess I'll hit the nurseries.
Rose breasted grosbeak.
All cloudy now
Windy and chill here - all the way up to 40! Yesterday morning we had such a hard frost that the azalea blossoms all shriveled. The only up side to that is that the side yard will no longer smell like carrion. Strange plant. Raining now with the temperature dropping and a current windchll around 30. The white capped sparrows are looking askance.
Nice bird
Cloudy, chilly & uncomfortable outside, like a cold, icky dampness...
'raw' - feels like 44° instead of 54°.
Good photo, Sherrie....I haven't seen any here yet. Very cloudy & chilly.
just saw the rain is supposed to miss here tomorrow - was kinda hoping for rain
Got all but one JM planted before the rain.
wow - i usually wait 2 weeks before planting jm's that have been in a box for a few days. i did plant two i recieved from diana earlier this afternoon. now i need to move the sprinkler.
I would have waited a couple of days if the forecast was for sun.
its been a week so you should be good - i lost a red baron last year that makes me gun shy - we were hit with a heat wave jast after it went in.
48 and rainy today. Late afternoon we were dodging the tornado warnings again. Those sirens send chills down the spine!
44°, wind ESE 0.1mph, periods of rain
It's a chilly 32* and I have the heat on!!
43 and drizzling. Almost a 1/2 inch of rain so far.
Burd Photos ( on the birds forum) talked about cutting short a sancturary visit because of the tornado threat--glad that you have a basement J-2. I feel so sorry for the people in OK & other areas with tornado distruction.
Overcast and cool. Showers expected later today. Good day to be sick. Had a bad night, so going back to bed. I may send DH out to take some shots. 51 F. and almost no wind, 6 mph. Patti
Hope you feel better soon, Patti! I've got a bug myself....having trouble holding my head up.......no fun when you want to get outside and get lots of stuff done. 40 and overcast here. Got into the 20s last night here....I think only one more night of scary temps.
40s and foggy
Donniebrook, We will share our bad day and hope for a good one tomorrow. Warming up later in the week. Poor you having this cold weather after Fla. Must make the pups frisky. Patti
Hope you both feel better soon. :(
Sounds hopeful, Patti! Hugs!
Thanks, Celeste! Just a yucky bug to get past! Lots of action here early this morning when the girls woke us up at 5:15 because of the sounds of turkeys roosting in the trees outside their window. So exciting....and so many cool things for them to ponder! As they were cuddling in my lap, our first deer walked into the meadow with his fur coat on. They were dying to jump down and run to the ramparts! The nerve of all these critters coming into their halcyon meadows! LOL
