where'd ya go??

busy weekend. thurs- went to work with hubby, we had a pre-bid meeting and walk threw we had to be at
friday, worked on yard for turkeys and guinneas, got groceries
sat- started cooking for party, finished yard for birds, ckleaned pool
sunday-cooked had party, cleaned up
monday- finished cleaning yard and house, rested rest of day
tuesday- making pear ginger preserves, weeding, washing floors

Goodness girl, take time for a cup of coffee, and relax. Glad to took the time to say hello!

I found one of the down sides to retirement. Holidays aren't the same when you don't work. I used to look forward to the holidays when I could spend time away from work with friends. We would have a cook-out or go to the movies or take a road trip.
Now that I am 3 hrs away from all my friends and don't work during the week, this past holiday was just like any other day. I haven't made friends here yet so no cook-outs or movies. I thought since I moved near the kids I would see them more but that ain't happening either. They all have there own full lives.
Went out and bought a table, chairs, umbrella for my patio and now I wonder who will sit on it? Sorry, just feeling down today and missing my good friends in Lansing.
June is going to be a busy month so I wont have time to bored.

Cindy, we have Porky's back here! I've never eaten there but do want to try it sometime. Awesome for Doug!

Jaye I am so sorry you and Kel are going through this, and I'm sorry Murdock is going through this too. I promise a good time at Cookies, it's hard to not have a good time when I'm around LOL LOL LOL LOL!!!!!!

hmmm, does your community have any gardening groups? Or the library might have some listings for seniors, quilting groups and such.

Janice, I understand how you feel. I moved back here after Glen passed away last year, cause the kids wanted me closer to them. So did I see them this past 3 day weekend? Nope.. saw DD for about 45 mins to place flowers on my parents' graves and that was it. I know that they have their own lives, but why ask me to move away from all my friends if they didn't plan on having time with me? I do still work, so was looking forward to some family time.. oh well.

MI and IA aren't terribly far from each other.. next year we can plan on meeting in the middle during the holiday and doing somthing fun LOL

Boy I know how you feel. My b-day was Thursday and I still have not heard from my daughter :(. Went to see my brother Sunday and he asked what I did fun for my b-day. LOL, took care of mom how's that for fun??? He said you didn't go out to dinner or anything, Nope did nothing at all or the whole Memorial Weekend. In the past I had always gone camping on Memorial Weekend but mom's knee surgery put a HUGE kink in all my camping plans for this summer. Man this weather is so depressing. We were to have beautiful sunny days........not it is overcast and is suppose to rain again. How can anything grow with out warm sunshine. Everything is the garden is sad looking :(

Might get to see Doug today....his one day off. This place that he is working at the owner is money hungry, pays cheap and doesn't like to give days off. Doug is not sure if he will be able to handle it for long. Having to stand in one place on cement floors bothers his back. I am going to look for some good shoes for him, maybe that will help a little.

Have a good day Ladies, time for me to get busy. Housework then outside to weedeat and mow.
