.Everyone be well take care blessings... I think of you all.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Twyla, let's pray it's nothing!
I am so hoping the doctor's wrong and tell you that you are "C" free.

Quite a muggy day today. The heat, the heat.... terrible. It's not July yet and it's now 95*.

Guess some of you have read that Murdock's *C* is not all cleared, but instead a new activitiy's been detected.

I ask to please continue to pray for him, and for Kel too.
Yet I can't help feeling some sadness for Kel who will carry his father through, with no complains.
Kel has wanted badly to go to Cookie's depending on his father's health, and I've carried that hope too.
Now, there will be continous treatments.. predictable falls... predictable angst from MIL...
all on Kel.
As a wife that loves her husband so much.. I truly don't know whether I'll be enjoying myself at Cookie's.

There.. my heart is bare.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Jaye-I don't know all the ins and outs of Murdock's care, so I may be completely stupid in what follows. I think that if you can schedule Murdock's treatments and appts. to be either before or after that weekend that you should both come. A celebration will be good for the soul with everything you are both dealing with. This will be a heavy responsibility for you both and having a little time to be light-hearted will help to get you through the more rough times. This is all IMO of course, I just think that you both could use a little time away from the routine of your lives.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Not with the doctors he got Stacey.
This is a small town with one oncology center and we try to schedule his appointments around Kel's work schedule.. but failed.
Murdock also has limited mobility. So, with his challenged mother.. this is more like a triple whammy for him, besides having to run a business that supports 3 families.
His escapes are the famous Saturday jaunts.. or he'd laughingly referred to as our 'staycations'.
Last year, Murdock didn't have the cancer yet, just the stroke, and still it was difficult for him to get away for the weekend. Besides hiring a housesitter for ourselves, we paid a neighbour's son to be on call 24/7 should his parents need help.
You saw how fast we got to Dallas and left almost immediately?
When he returned, he got *^&^ from his mother for 3 months.. but he said it was worth it!

Thank sweetie. I talked to Kel and he says it's all up to me.

______________time's up!!!
Picking myself up... stop this poor us thingy.... Lord will make a way I know.. if it's in His will____________
More things to be thankful for and more important stuffs to pray for_____

So.. changing gears.......off to sew I go.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, sorry to hear Kel has more problems.
I know we were tlaking of nursing homes the other day, have you considered placing both In laws in a home together? He would get the treatments he need, and nurses there 24/7.
Saying more prayers for HIM to do what is right for all!
Sending you and Kel big ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))).

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Hugs to you and Kel, Jaye and prayers abound for Murdock....

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks LK.. Cookie.

Both refused nursing home. MIL is fully functional and does help in taking care of Murdock.
Moreover, Kel won't put them in one as they've made him promised not to.
Do we sound like victims?
I had no problems with my ex' husband's parents when we had to take care of them. LK. None were placed in nursing home right up to their last days.
Late ex' dad was an invalid and his mum had alzheimer.
But then, our freedom wasn't curtailed as there were his siblings willing to take their turns like yours do.

Not with Kel's parents.. as you all know. Just him and you can forget about his older brother.

It's me.. I'll stand by Kel who is adamant that he will take care of his dad no matter what. It's not fair to him if I ask him to choose.
Moreover, it's against my faith and beliefs...
His mum's only 64 while his dad's 69. I will have a long journey ahead for sure.

Thank God, He provides me with an escape.. and this is it!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Ooooooooohhh Thunderstorms!!!!!
I may have a free pass to watering the garden today!!

Anyone here into web design???

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'll be poppin' in Jaye. Hope Murdock is having a good day....

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

My mom is so sweet!! She bought us our crib today and found a good used pack and play for us too-I just love my mommy;)

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Awww...that's so cool. Don't you just love starting to think about the nursery?

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I need to get Chris on board with the painting. I want a cool aqua-I think it's gender neutral, but he wants to wait til we see what it is first...

It's weird, but we have like nothing so far. A bouncy and a few clothes and baby book and that's about it....It's hard when you are broke to begin with and then having to pay the $1000 deductible in installments before the birth, having to get maternity clothes and the baby stuff-WHEW is this EXPENSIVE!!!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Have you looked at second hand stores for that stuff? You can get amazingly nice things there that are new or next to it.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

That's where I got the bouncy. Even getting stuff at 2nd hand stores may take it from $1000 for baby stuff to $500, but to me either way it is still a lot. I can't believe such a little person needs so much crap!!LOL I have been eyeballing some stuff from 2nd hand stores, but there are a few things I wanted new like the crib. I haven't found a stroller that I liked yet 2nd hand either. They seem to have stains and stuff. I M keeping my eye out for clothes and a swing and a mattress. I also don't want a used bath tub thingy...that may be weird, but someone's naked poopy baby was in that B4-ewwwww-LOL

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Prayers for Kel, Jaye and Murdock. I know it is hard on all concerned.

My DH has to go through an angiogram, don't know just when. I thought they would do it in the new hospital here, but have to go into the BIG one in Los Angeles. Have to wait to hear from them and don't know if that will make us postpone the shoulder surgery scheduled for June 10th. Decisions, decisions are always so hard for us to make.

Boy, I remember waiting for my first one to be born, no money for anything and no insurance. I did receive a new crib, and so many clothes. My mom made all the baby clothes, then we didn't dress them up like they do today. I still am amazed how we made it through that time. Gosh, you never forget the hard times. LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thank you Barb. Prayers are the best gifts anyone can give. Do pop in often... or we'll see you on the sewing forum!

Stacey, keep a tab on all you have to spend on baby and ask for a refund when she/he turns 18!!!!
You could also disinfect the baby tub, and it will be just as good as new!!

Pegi, an angiogram? Your DH's been giving symptoms there might be a blockage?? Hope the test is done soon and the result, a good one. Keep us posted please, and you got our prayers for sure.

Having children are COSTLY nowadays, especially when kids are given choices and taught at a young age to be consumers!!
I remember Mum sewing all our clothes and my sisters having to wear hand-me-downs. Great advantage there being the oldest.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning all!!

Hope you all have a restful Memorial weekend!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Stacey, you think clothes are a lot, wait till you price diapers, and formula!

Pegi, sending prayers your way, for hubbies angiogram to go smoothly!

Please keep u s posted?

Bouncing in for a bit.. I've had a nice weekend.. yesterday, went to 2 different flea markets and found a few goodies, then last night went to 34 Raceway with MY Doug, his two youngest kids, one of my grandsons and his friend..had a great time! Then today, put up some of the items that I received several months ago from my birthday buddies on DG plus some items I found on Collections Etc. Did that after I had gone out to the park and took around 40 pics of flowers and such. I'll attach my favorite pic to show off a little lol!! Then over to Doug's for ribs cooked on the grill, baked potato and I made a spinach/strawberry salad.. finished all that off with strawberry shortcake. Now I'm home doing laundry!! I'm sure glad that I don't have to work tomorrow LOL..

Have a good night everyone! Cindy, great news for YOUR Doug.. Jaye, keeping my prayers going for Murdock (I love that name!) and Twyla, for you too! LK, that little baby is so adorable! Meatball..how funny!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh she'll be back....she's just had a lot on her plate lately. She is so wishing she could be here to meet all of the sistahs next month.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning!!
Chris, I thank the Lord that besides Cindy, you too are on the road to more joy with a man called Doug!! (Now that's easy to remember)
Will wait on happy pictures :D

Synda hun., no matter what life gives us, there's still hope in our Lord.
We won't stop praying for Tracy and now your mum.
As many would say here, don't disappear. Pop in often.. if you can't say anything, post a smiley ^_^. A heavy heart should be relieved.
I do the same. It's much better to let it go then keep it to yourself.
Don't forget you're so blessed to have such a perfect mama.. As long as she's able to communicate with you, I'm sure she knows how much you love her.
Thank you Lord for looking out for Synda!

Bonnnnnnnnnnn!!!! You are sorely missed!
Yep Cookie, Bon needs to be at the reunion's and so does the rest of the sistahs here!!

LK, Kel wants to know Italian Meatball or regular?? Lol!!!
