Jaye, every one...please add my Momma to your prayers list....she is in the hospital, they don't know what wrong ??? extreme pain in her head, dizzy, nauseous, too weak to stand, every time she move just a little she is getting sick???? she is on an IV, but they don't want to give her any medications, till they do some tests, and try to figure out what is the matter... Her blood pressure was way up, and they did give her something for that, and that has gotten better....

I am very worried, scared, besides having had breast cancer...she never gets sick!!!

thank you

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Thunder, saying prayers for your Mom and you and family. Please keep us posted.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning ladies.

Thunder, prayers being said this a.m for your Mum. We pray that the doctors can diagnose those symptoms.

It's supposed to rain these few days, but somehow, the weatherman said, that prediction's been changed. The only rain we'll get was yesterday. Well, at least I did have a day off from watering.

Got some fabrics to wash and press and boxes to mail.. errr. yes.. finally getting your block out to you Maid M ^_^

Have a fantastic Tuesday everyone.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Same here with the weather Jaye. Our rains were supposed to have been all day yesterday but only ended up being a few showers early.

Don't fret about my block. ;-)

Going into town with my DIL, time for a run through Costco to get a few items to finish up the girl's lunches for this school year. Geez it went fast!! Hard to believe one will be in the second grade and one in kindergarten--she will be 5 tomorrow. We have been teasing her about being 5, saying we want her to stay 4 but she just looks at us like we are nuts and says " I have to turn 5" Duh! As if we really thought she could stay 4.

Thunder repeating, prayers here.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

praying for thunders mom. hope they do a mri of her head.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Any updates yet?

Dellroy, OH(Zone 6b)

Saying a prayer for your mother Thunder that everything turns out ok.

LK, you finally home? Did your fur baby miss you?

If it keeps raining here, I am building another ark! But I have to agree Jaye, at least I don't have to worry about watering!

Take care all

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

nothing yet...

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Waiting is the hardest... We are with you Thunder.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Just spoke to my sis, (and Momma for a few minutes)

they have not been able to do MRI, but now have her on meds for nausea, and will try again in a while, they are thinking not a stroke, as no outward signs of that,

she was able to eat part of a bagel, around 9am and was now going to try to eat a salad, they also brought her some kind of pasta, but she took one look and said "no way"!!

she said pain is not bad now, but can not lay flat without feeling like she will be sick, and any movement of head to left or right, makes the world spin very fast????? so she says " I will just lay here stiff like a board!!!"

thanks for the love and prayers keep em coming

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sounds like Mom is doing okay while they try to figure this out. You know my prayers will continue!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

At least she gets some carbos from her bagel.
I'm sure your Mum's ready to go home. Hope they're able to do an MRI tomorrow.
Keep us posted Thunder.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thunder, sure hope she is feeling better soon. Sounds like she may have an ear infection? Those inner ears can get off kilter, and make you really sizzy.
Saying lots of prayers for her.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Dave was like that from mere congestion caused from allergies. I hope it's nothing serious, there are sooo many things that could cause dizziness.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hello Ladies,
Thunder hope your Mom is doing better and gets well soon. Well had court yesterday, not bad at all, now to reuilding my credit :(.
Mom's knee surgery got postponed until Thursday.
Doug came up this morning, we started working on the wood pile. Stacking the split wood in the shed and him splitting more. We were picking up little pieces and I was collecting worms, when Doug picked up a stick and tried to scare me saying "A snake!!!!". Didn't bother me a bit, lol cuz I know he would not pick up a snake. He is scared to death of them. A little while later he picked up a log and out runs a lizard. I let out a scream and Doug threw the log down and took off running like a mad man!!!!! I was laughing so hard that I peed my pants, lol ^_^. Went in the house to change my pants and had to tell mom about it. But I got to laughing so hard trying to tell her, I peed my pants again!!!! LMAO

Doug is so much fun to be with. He will be here for a couple of weeks. We are going to get a lot of stuff done while mom is in the hospital. We are putting in a new stove on Friday. Then will start breaking ground for the new 250 fish pond.

Well I'm too pooped to pop so I will say "Good Night, Ladies"

Hello Sistah's All!

Woo, So much to read.

First, Thunder, Got you mom in prayers. Was thinking too, kind of wondering if it might be Vertigo.
just know, I hope they find what is ailing her. Armwraps to you and mom both.

Audrey, so glad to see you post! i am glad the packing is almost done. Hope things are going well with everything else.

Jaye, Big Armwraps!!! i miss ya, been craz & eee here. Jacob is sick! He very seldom is sick...Anyway.
had a very busy weekend, I did my back in this weekend, (shake the head & hands on the hips!, it was stupid on my part.)
So not much in the way of anything getting done...Dang, only trying to work quilting blocks at the moment..I dunno, I'm not real thrilled on how they turned, I would be embarrassed to send them to anyone, ROFLOL good thing I'm practicing.

On the upside, We got a ton of work finished at the house in Wisconsin...Can't share pics because DH has camera...lol, I am just batting a thousand here...

Anyway, Synda, Big Smile on the Pony!!! just adorable. Figure out a name yet?

OMG...Linda Kay!! Welcome home. Sounds like you had fun Trip. So glad you and Trisha met up!
Oh geeze, I sure hope you are feeling better. Soon. Get lots of sleep and drink lots of water too!

What else...Marion! Thanks for the website...

Well, I'm sinking quick, can't sit too long at puter...
See you later

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

thanks much Y'all !!!

I spoke to her this eve,and she is in much less pain, not as dizzy...but still not able to lay flat, she ate a few meals today and she sounded very good when I spoke to her....huge sigh of relief.....

I don't know how to say or spell the medical terminology, but they think she has this thing that is nick named "rocks in your head"
way way in the inner ear you have these little hair like follicles, and they have little crystals on the ends of them.....think of a common pin, with the little colored balls on the ends.....well something ??? causes the little balls to break apart and pieces fall off...and when a red piece hits the stem of a blue piece.....tilt a whirrllll......as it is not known what makes them break there really is no cure.... sometimes these pieces can float around for a long time and not do anything to you , but then for some reason they start bumping into the stems and that makes the trouble!!! it causes a severe case of vertigo...(worse for some than others, some people get terrible pain, others only the very bad dizzy)..... but you can treat the symptoms...and there are exercises to do that often help..... Little pieces floating around...hence the name...rocks in your head......
my DH has had this before, and his doctor is the one who explained it to us with the sewing pins...he was thrilled to find out I did quilting and could relate to his explanation....when my Momma was trying to tell me, I told her about the pins, and she said " yes that's it"

so they are going to send her to one of those rest / rehab places for a week or so, treat the symptoms,(medication for the very bad headache, medication for nausea) and teach her the exercises.....watch her blood pressure, as it had gone crazy high...she may need to stay on meds for that now....

the whole thing totally freaked me out!! she NEVER gets sick...I do not ever remember her even getting a cold, she has never had the flu.....so when I found out she felt sick enough to call an ambulance...well I was scared.....

I thank you all for being "here" for me, and Momma

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning!
Oh my Cindy!!! You've just smeared Doug's reputation!!! Lolol.
One riding a Harley shouldn't ever be afraid of a teeny lizard... not you, Cindy, but him?
Seems you both truly enjoy each other's company, but it looks like the wild outdoors shouldn't be in your itenary, until he gets over his fear of a teeny lizard!!! Hehehehe!!!!!!!!
(Just teasing Doug)

Sis Judy, I hope Jacob's faring better. Poor baby. At least he waits for you to return before he got ill.
Now what did you do to your back? Pray tell..
The more you practise on your blocks, the better you'll be.
I can't join any more swap blocks.... 2 more to go, both Thunder's.. and my sewing will be 'franatic' till I see you at Cookie's. You know why!
Can't wait to see you in the flesh again. We'll have so much to chat about. Only if the airfares don't cost an arm and a leg, I'll be flying all over to see my sistahs!!

LK, yep.. you'll be picking up Squeeky after you get better, right? I can imagine your son getting attach to him and don't be surprise if Squeeky grew some!! Bet your dad's already missing him.

Thunder, praise the Lord that your Mum doesn't shy away from doctors or calling for the ambulace herself.
I got curious and check on the diagnosis, as I too get vertigo at times.. and what your Mum has is very interesting. A couple of sites said the same thing, exercising is the best way. Surgery is rarely recommended unless it's too severe and that itself doesn't guarantee the symptoms won't go away (the called it 'plugging'). The worse part is, not too many ear specialists have ever performed this delicate surgery.
http://www.dizziness-and-balance.com/disorders/bppv/bppv.html
We'll continue to pray that her 'rocks' stabilize and you my dear, did the right thing by letting us know about her situation.
That's what sistahs are for.

Yesterday, Murdock was able to take his chemo treatment and today, I'll accompany him for his platelets boost shot.

Have a very wonderful day everyone.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! I had a wonderful visit with Trisha, Laura and Trisha Mom! We had a great lunch, then walked out to the pier for a bit. I saw my first jelly fish! They looked really nasty on the shore from where the tide went down. And we drove around a really nice park in Olympia! It is so pretty over there!!! This is Laura, myself and Trisha on my left. And Trisha's dog. We went to the bike shop, and I met Trisha's hubby. Then we walked down the street where one of the neighbors was having a yard sale. I wish I had more room in my suitcase, or I would have come home with a really nice old singer sewing machine. Sure hope it went to a nice home?
Thanks for the wonderful day Trisha and Laura, I really enjoyed the day. Wish we had a lot more time for our visit!

Awww.. great pic, LK!! Sounds like a great trip and to meet our DGers is always a plus :)

I'm going to show one pic from the Iowa RU.. our hosts, Arlene and Bruce (TwinLakesChef and DH) surprised us with a trolley ride around the Twin Lakes..it was a beautiful day! In the pic taken by Jeff (AllNitro on DG), you'll see me talking to Dave (DH of Moby) Then to my right is Rob (CuckooforBB, I know that's not how he spells it) with his DD standing in front of him and me. The man in the hat is DH to Maxine..you can just see the top of her head in front of him. And the lady in the light blue shirt is Colette (AlwaysWeeding on DG) We had 5 states represented at the RU..
I really enjoyed myself and can't wait to go to the VA RU and meet FOTV! And Marilyn if she can make it.. (keeping fingers, toes, and eyes crossed!!)

Looks like you had a great time, meeting with everyone!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

LK, ever crossed your mind to ship that Singer home?
You certainly look like you've enjoyed your visit. Hi Porter!!!
Now you just got to plan to make it to Cookie's. If Kel can make it there, you'll be the only one that's standing eye level to him!!

Chris, that was a nice surprise from Arlene!! A trolley ride! Seems other pictures aren't 'kosher' to share with us? Wonder where's that missing Bailey's?
So good to read of DGers meeting and most of the time bringing home with them, good happy memories.

Yep, shots were given.. and now I'm ready for a nap!!

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY!!!!! She is so cute and happy!

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Happy Birthday !! they just grow too fast!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Much, much to fast. She was born 8 months after her Pepum's death so she is my window when God closed the door. She is rotten too. LOL Had nothing, I repeat absolutely nothing to do with it---not.

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

Thunder, I thought about inner ear something, too. Several years ago I went o get out of bed to go to work and the room went round. Like your Mom I had to stay flat on my back with my eyes closed or It was bad; dizzy, nauseous. I called into work and they told me to call 911 and I did. EMT's came and took me to the hospital. I was so embarrassed; told the EMT's that if it was something serious I would be upset, but if it was nothing I would be more upset.
Turned out it was an bad inner ear infection in both ears. Gave me some antibiotics and sent me home after a few houses and I was fine by the next day. But I admit, it scared me so much that is when I began looking for a retirement place near the kids.

We keep saying about my 102 yr old Dad, when you have been in good health for all of your life and then something happens it hits you hard. Just not used to it! My Aunt, Dad's sister, is 98 and she was all upset that the doctor wanted her to take a water pill. Upset because that would be the ONLY pill she would be taking.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Wow!! You have some serious longevity there! 98 and 102 and still healthy!!

(Chris) Des Moines, IA(Zone 5a)

Marion, I understand about that cutie being your window.. that's what my Kailey is to me. She was born 6 months after my Glen passed away..she was the ray of sunshine in a world that had gone so gray!

I can't remember if I showed this picture of her or not..if I did, forgive me :) Oh..and she's now standing up by herself, holding on to things..7 months old now..I think she's shooting for the 9 month mark to start walking as my DD (her momma) did!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

What a doll Chris. Yes, I think we both were very lucky to have God send us someone to help soften the pain of losing our husbands.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Marion, you make sure to give her a big old hug from this grandma. She is a true beauty!
Chris, what a little darling she is, and walking already! No stopping her now!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh I give her plenty of hugs!! One the way to school this morning the radio station announced that today Catie-Beth was 5 year old. I am sure either her Mom or Dad called but she was beside herself. Kim called to wish her happy birthday and she told Kim that the radio knew her name and it was her birthday. Then she said "I think I am suspicious!!" Whatever that meant.
