Going back up the hill.
Charleen's walks in the woods
Char, DH and I just love this time of year for woods walks - everything is on the verge of waking up - it's so exciting to catch buds just at the moment they begin to swell. Of course, with our on/off winter weather patterns, you can watch the calyx of a dogwood bud open and close the same tiny distance for weeks! Skunk cabbage tops and mosses and leaves of violets, spring beauties, liverwort all tantalize and remind us that spring is not very many weeks away from today and that the vast expanses of asphalt, concrete and contractor-managed McMansion sod are all an unfortunate illusion. Well, at least for those magical moments when we can get lost on a trail.
Nice thread, Char - I'm enjoying it immensely - it's almost as if you were with us yesterday where we walked.

Good looking mule.
Here is a little plant. Is it Trillium?
Not a good pic.
Doesn't look like trillium...The leaves should be more round.
Here is a link to the plant file pic of the ones I have growing here

what a wonderland you have there charleen.. I would love to go walking there would not want to go home.. Charlie is so lucky to have such a great nature loving momma like you. I LOVE your rocks!
That was so nice Rider thank you. I t felt like you were walking behind my own house with me pointing out all the things you saw until the mules anyway...I have trurkeys not mules...made me homesick for spring.
You all would love it. Come on down, Debra, I'll let you have a rock or two.
Spring is just around the corner, arejay, not too much more wating. I have azaleas in
the woods and they are so pretty. I like turkeys too. found a feather in the pasture a while back.
RRM You have azaleas growing in your woods??? that is wonderful!
We have a huge snow storm right now, and you got me all revved up for spring!
Stay in the house, Debra!! I got MG popping up!!
Yeah. We got a storm moving in today. Snow in the mtns.
Above Atlanta.
Charleen has most graciously invited me to post a link to my Daily Walks site in California here. I am honored and quite happy to share what is going on in my part of the world. It's so different from where Charleen lives.

Charleen.....What a wonderful idea you have come up with....
It is so hot here now that a walk in your beautiful woods does the soul good.
I keep expecting Charley to turn up wearing g-whizz's hat.
I will walk here every day.

I really enjoyed the walks....kinda scary for a moment with the water so high....but glad to see all is well now....Thank you so much for sharing
RRM, I would love to have a chair and just set there at the creek and listen to nature even if it is cold. That just looks so serene.
so pretty charleen.. it looks so peaceful and quiet. Happy valentines Day to you all...
Love your wanderings, Charleen.
Thank you all. So happy you like the pic. I sure do enjoy taking them.
I love you morning walk Rider!! Hugs.
RRM,
What is the weather like in your part of the country.
We still have sunny and warm temps, very unusual for February. Should have the rain back this weekend. Then on to seed planting! It's getting green enough for DH to have to clear the fire roads of weeds (green weeds).
I'm very happy I don't have to cope with snow right now. Mud is bad enough! LOL!
Keep 'em coming when you can.
WIB!
