Stop and visit, talk all you want #34
Crissy I don't fly either, 'cept with my dad. He's grounded right now because of the cancer, but he's working on getting his license back. Shouldn't say he's grounded...he can fly his plane with another pilot.
Celia, where have you been? Does your cat have eyes that blue? One of my brothers cats has blue eyes. Oh! I also forgot to tell you that another of his cats (they have 4), gets a lot of mats. So Bob shaves him. I thought it odd you did and here my brother does...LOL
I have another cooking question...lol I have been making what I thought was my moms dressing for quite a few years. Johns mom makes a dressing that I don't like....actually neither does John. So I took mine and no, she didn't mind. I don't think she should cook everything on all holidays, so I always gave her a list of what I was bringing. Dressing was one. Anyway, I've been noticing these chefs adding eggs into the dressing. They said as a binder. I don't think my mom adds an egg, but I don't know. Does anyone else?
My grandma doesn't add eggs to hers that I know of either. Course it has been years since I've seen her make it and years since we've made it so I could be wrong.
My cats don't get shaved. Course they are outside cats who come in and visit and hate being dirty unless it's sunny and they want to roll in the dirt and gravel. lol. Then they usually shake it off after that.
Tiga doesn't get shaved, she'd kick my rear! LOL
I do fly when I'm going across the country or if we ever make it up to Anchorage or Hawaii again LOL
I fly on the roads when I'm driving. LOL. I DON'T like being behind people who hate to get their precious truck dirty so they only go 15 mph down the gravel road. That drives me up the wall.
LOL I don't live on a gravel road, it might only be one lane but it is paved for this city girl! I drive like a bat outta Haties!
pepper, I'm going 15mph down any gravel road because I've seen people "slide" on the gravel and land in the ditch. My sister totaled her car, brand new car that way. Any other road though? Yea, I'm flying....lol
Crissy, haven't been to Alaska or Hawaii and probably never will. I had a cousin that lived in Alaska long time ago. Her brother drove up there to see her. I can't remember where she lived, but he had to take a ferry to get to the area and the ferry ride was something like 24 hours. I hope I'm remembering that right. If I'm not, please tell me...lol...you won't hurt my feelings. Been wrong before and I'll be wrong again!
I forgot to say earlier that I had to renew my license. I hate getting the picture taken, it always looks worse than a darn mugshot!! I know I was smiling, with my mouth open!!! When I was handed my license, my lips were pinched together!! Like I was swallowing or something. grrrr....I don't understand why they won't redo the stupid picture. I've had other DMV workers do it, but not Pam. John told me I had some guy sitting beside him laughing. Pam was asking me if my license was suspended...I'd just handed it to her duh, so I'm doing that voice you know we girls use...noooooo!!!, and it is revoked, noooo!!!! and all the other dumb questions they ask. I renewed 4 yrs ago and it cost me 10 bucks. I go today? $30!!! That's quite the jump!
DL pics don't matter. They just want a comparison. It's not like they sit around and say, "OMG!!! Look at this one!" Nobody shows them to family or friends, give them away as gifts or put them on the wall. I don;t see what the big deal is.
Sorry I've been quiet here for the last little while. We've been dealing with other issues. It' looks like the house has FINALLY sold. We'll see what happens next. We found out that the house has termites! Darrell, et al came to a satisfactory price on the house. It's taken far too long with this. We'll be glad to see the final end.
Crystal had her colposcopy on Monday. She has some abnormal cells but nothing concerning to the Drs. so, we went away even happier than before. They want to see her again a few months after the baby is born, which means next July or Aug.
A funny story about the trip to take her home...We had roughly 165 miles to go and took the Vette. I even let her drive part of the way. When we were almost to her town, we stopped to get gas. Unfortunately, I discovered we had no key to the gas cap! LOL We ended up paying for a locksmith to come out and rescue us. Our insurance reimbursed us for it, too!
Terry, Isis's eyes were reflecting the flash. Her eyes are green/yellow, depending on her mood.
Oh, and I HATE to fly. I'll do it for Darrell but driving is my preferred mode of travel. You get to see more and will take fewer people with you if you crash.
HI GUYS...Lurker here....grin Just wanted to let Terry know the egg thing is the same as adding an egg to meatloaf....it is used as a binder to make the dressing ingredients more 'cohesive' so it sticks together like cornbread and is easier to spoon up. (southern raised Illinois girl)
Moon
I haven't been to Alaska, but I have been to Maui and it is so nice and so expensive can only visit once in 10 years or so. Of course we lived in CA at the time too, so much cheaper on the flight. We tried to get to Anchorage before we moved but it didn't happen. Dave's eldest brother lives there.
Egg is definitely great to use for binding together ingredients. I love eggs. Scrambled eggs with tarragon... yum!
LOL Celia, "depending on her mood"
Tiga's got the runs real bad and I can't figure out why. I had just bought a brand new small bag of Fancy Feast Dry Food that was on sale cheap, and she ate one bowl of that. I took the dry food away and am hoping that's the problem, but then again that's a brand new full bag of cat food that will go to waist, maybe too many Temptations, those give her the runs I know, so does fresh lizard tail LOL
Great to hear about Crystal, and your trip LOL Glad the insurance already paid you back! Awesome!
Sometimes it takes awhile for kitties to adjust to new food. I wouldn't throw/give the bag away yet. Is she still bad today?
I had to drive out and get the check from the insurance people but that okay cuz the always give us lots of "free" stuff. I got a Norman Rockwell calendar, a Frisbee, 2 carabiners and a leather notebook for my purse.
She was this morning when I left, she pooed at about 6am and I had to cover it up, almost like water. We keep the litter box in the bathroom, seems appropriate. I left a note for Dave letting him know she's sick, even though it's very obvious she doesn't feel bad.
Ok, I'm retarded, what's a carabiner?
Used mostly for mountain climbing.
Oh, we gave those away at our 2009 APAA Spring Conference. I didn't know they were used for mountain climbing.
Moon, I sort of understand the egg and the binding when referring to meatloaf. I did call my mom and she doesn't use it in dressing, she repeated what I said out loud and my dad was sitting there and he was confused. I guess it's safe to say that no one in my family uses eggs in their stuffing/dressing.
Celia, why the heck isn't the gas cap key on the key ring? Do you get a lot of people that sifen gas out there?
It's very hard on dogs and cats to have their brand of food changed. Hard on their digestion. Hence the diarrhea.
Yes, lots of siphoners. The key wasn't there because I never put it there. We have a separate ring for each car and I had a key, just on the 3rd set of Vette keys. Which was at home. lol
Dang I've been gone all day!
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU TERRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope your day was wonderful and you got to eat cake! LOL
Well I started getting all paranoid again about Dave losing his job so I got online last night and started looking at cars that are cheaper to insure, built a $29,000 Honda Civic! LOL
Options?
Haven't been on...thank you for the birthday wishes!!
Celia, since the gas key goes with the car, I'd put it on the ring. I do the same thing. My Mustang key is on one ring, truck key on another, house key on another, mom and dads on another, house in AR on another....can we say I carry a lot of keys? I believe I have the love chest key on one ring in my purse also...lol
Went shopping on Fri. Left here just after 9am and drove to my girlfriends. I needed John to come and help carry things for me (plus it was my birthday after-all), and Krista wanted to go. So the 4 of us went to the mall in Oakbrook, a suburb of Chicago. I really love that mall...LOL I don't know what they call these kinds of malls, but they aren't inside of one big building. Each store is individual and a person walks hundreds of miles. I seriously need a list, even for stores that aren't grocery. I forgot half the stuff I wanted. We never did eat lunch and I think that was my undoing, even though I really wasn't hungry. I could have just had something little. No, never did have cake. We ate supper when we got back to the town my girlfriend lives in. The restaurant is in a train car, pretty cool. Except that I was so beyond being hungry and everything was really spicy, I opted for just an appetizer. It was horrible. I don't know what they actually were, the waitress told me they were potatoes wedges and cheese. The cheese was this blop floating in grease and the potatoes things weren't potatoes, whatever they were though, they were greasy. I couldn't eat it. Krista, John, Teresa...they all took those things and the cheese and they gave me the potato wedges they were served. Even those were greasy. I really don't like greasy food. Suffice it to say I had an upset tummy all day yesterday. You know, I should say greasy food doesn't like me.
Let's see, it's loaded of course.

LOL It's a strip mall, Terry.
Sounds like you had a good time even though the potato wedges weren't what they were all cracked up to be. I never order potato wedges because they are greasy, and cheese is greasy too, so that doesn't help. They're really good with bacon in them, which also adds some grease. Whenever I go shopping I have to take a list or I forget everything.

No, no, not a strip mall. I know what a strip mall is, this isn't it. I'll look up that mall on here to see if I can find it.
I've ordered p wedges lots of times (not from this place), and they're not greasy. As far as the grease in the cheese goes, that always depends on the cheese. This, I'm sure, was a processed cheese, hence the greasiness.
That's quite a car! I'll stay with my Mustang though. My nephew has a Civic.
Well, it's just called Oakbrook Center. Here's a link to sort of a drawing of how it's all laid out. In the middle areas, you have lots of trees and benches.
http://www.oakbrookcenter.com/directory
Here's another one, where it's called an "Open Air Premier Shopping Center". I remember now Teresa calling it an open air mall.
http://www.oakbrookcenter.com/about
Down here they are called Shopping Plazas or Parks or some now call themselves Shopping Terraces...kinda funny cuz they are becoming what we used to call downtown or Main Street....grin
We call them plazas here. I think we're getting a couple of new ones here in the valley. It'll be nice to have a new place to go.
Well, they've moved the closing of DH's mom's house to Monday rather than Wednesday. They still haven't got their loan wrapped up, so, the whole thing could fall through at the last minute and we'd have to start all over again. Ick.
It's snowing.
Oh! And the key went on the ring the second I walked in the house! LOL
Celia that won't happen, they're load will clear today and you can close tonight. Title can't close without the load docs from the lender so if anything they'll have to push it back to Wednesday.
Plaza's here too. Wow, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and Macy's??? I'd be in heaven!
I'm going to be busy today so I'll just say Good Morning and have a great day!!
That's what the realtor told us. I won't believe it until I see the check in their hands,
LOL I typed "Load" instead of "Loan" Their load better clear so the loan can clear LOL!!
lol...Moon, still have downtown areas, this isn't the same. The lower level on this is sure not what a downtown would have, but it's not like in a mall either. Basically it's like the buildings are in the side of a hill. The upper areas are up an escalator, so they're pretty much the same as a mall.
Yep Crissy, all those stores and more. They all make my head spin! I use Shiseido face care. I've used it for years. Around here for miles and miles, I can only find it at one store, in one mall. I asked about 2 yrs ago if they didn't have any sort of make-up. The lady behind the counter told me that Shiseido is only face care. I walk into Macy and to the Shiseido counter and right in front of me is make-up! I must have looked like a kid in a candy store judging by what that lady behind the counter told me. I told her what the lady at the other place told me and she had no idea. It's a Macy store also, but down in Peoria. It's the only one I know of, with the exception of the zillions of Macy stores up in the Chicago area. Oh, can't remember now who got the Macy's card. One of us had one, so the other signed up and I saved something like half. It was a lot and I had always thought it didn't pertain to make-up and such things.
Celia, you said that house had termites? Did it sell for a penny, or did you have to tent it? How did they get a loan with termites in there? Not fair, I want snow. I thought The Weather Channel said you guys had mild weather. We're "supposed" to get snow either Wed. or Thurs. Just a dusting though.
We're supposed to get freezing rain, ya'll can have that, I hate ice!
I wanna go to the American Mall in Minneapolis, I'm sure they have all of the usual mall stores but the things huge and I wanna see!
HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY TERRY!!!
Been out of state so just getting back on. Been with family in Iowa and had my coat and all the cds I had brought, my cd player and headphones and adapters so I could listen to cds with my cassette player in my truck stolen. Plus the gloves and headband that was in my coat. I'm pissed but luckily I know exactly what was stolen so can make a list up and replace them. The only thing that will be hard to replace is my headphones. They came with my cd player and I loved them. They rarely hurt my ears and I could hear real well and not have to fiddle with the cord. Other than that it was a great weekend. lol
Bum about your stuff getting stolen. You can't leave anything in your vehicle anymore, no matter what it is. Glad you had a great weekend otherwise.
The buyer has agreed to take care of the termite problem. They lowered the price slightly to take care of that.
I had a wallet with $.78 and my DL in it stolen once. No cards, no real cash, nothing but those 2 items. I loved that wallet.
I had a nice day today. My niece and her mother both called me and we had great conversations. Made me very happy.
I had my whole purse stolen out of my alarmed car sitting in my driveway, and it had Dave's $300 watch in it for one day as I took it to get a new battery put in it, along with my SS card, credit cards, debit card, drivers license, cell phone, and a bunch of miscellaneous crap that purses collect.
Celia that's so cool, glad you had great conversations!
Thank you pepper.
You and Krista! She has problems with the headphones hurting her ears too. I don't know how many pairs we've bought her. It's a lot though. Sorry you had all that stuff stolen. Will your insurance cover it all?
Speaking of you all having had things stolen out of your vehicles, I've not. I've left plenty in my car for someone to steal....cell phone, purse, GPS...(we're talking as recent as yesterday) and never had it stolen though. In town I'm not too fussy about locking the doors. Out of town, I lock the doors usually. Sometimes I forget. My car wasn't made before the alarm systems, I just don't have one. I have a panic button though!^_^
Ouch Crissy on that $300 watch gone missing.
Celia, what a relief, huh? My sisters house had termites before she ever bought. They had to tent it. They kept it up with the guarantee, having whoever come back every year and checking. It kept the guarantee extended also. Then she decided she didn't want it anymore, so she dropped it. It was $100 something per year and if it was me? I would have kept it. John's mom has/had termites. She has an enclosed sort of heated porch. It has the 60's cheap paneling, with holes in it. From termites. I was more shocked they did nothing than having termites.
I'm also glad you had a nice day yesterday.
His watch was I think a Rolex, it was that real expensive brand. I replaced it with another nice watch shortly thereafter, not Rolex though.
If I had a Rolex I would lose or break it pretty quickly since it would be expensive. LOL. I'm hard on watches especially the more expensive ones.
Man, the internet is really slow for me tonight!! Driving me up the wall!! lol
