Or, You could think in terms of, she needed to pay rent and for $15 Folks who could never afford Gallery show art get to enjoy something so very lovely. Allows her to connect with a so much larger group of fans. And that worked for me....grin
Tall *Tree) Tales and Chain Saw Adventures
Not complaining at all, would love to own one of those calendars just hate it for her.
The hard part was that she was really getting some national/international exposure when she was diagnosed with cancer. I think that put her art decisions into a more immediate return. She died in 1997.
Bet you can't touch one of those prints now for less than my life savings lol
That is what is so cool. You can afford her prints. They run under $200 with some under $100. I saw a re-release of her calendar art last year that ran $20 for 16 smaller prints. Most are at least 7 x 9 with some 8 x 10 and 10x 12....add a mat and frame and you have a nice bit of framed artwork....
Don't know why, but saved all my calendars since kids were small, I think to show them how busy we were lol
Grin....those were busy days for sure.
... and you can use them every 7 years.
LOL That is the office manager coming out in ya Smiley....grin
reduce! reuse! recycle!
Smiley you'd be horrified, I've been charging through the house THROWING CRAP OUT! Ugh! Feel like i'm being buried in STUFF over here! And sssshhhh don't tell the hubby....
never thought of that Smilely will keep that in mind for hard times lol
I know how that goes Lynnie.
I'm better at reduce and recycle than I am at reuse. Our little town has a recycling program so that makes it easier.
Flowers, it's kind of fun to pull out a *really* old one and reuse them. The only ones we wrote on were the ones during the year our kids were born. We put stars on their birthday. We have post its on the calendar for stuff, but that would be really fun to re-live if we had written on them.
I keep reducing, they keep building it back up! I do recycle, today I'm on a mission.
Smiley I found an old pocket calendar from the year I got married, had all my appointments and outings with friends, and one of those friends died a couple of years ago, I still miss her so much I still cry thinking about her. I still can't believe she's gone.
Sheesh I'm bringing down the thread. What a wet blanket. Let's make fun of our husbands again. lol
and the kids never realize what all you did for them, the calendars were full back then, thats how I kept up.
Lord yes, Dance class, soccer practice x 3, dentist and doctor, school conferences, games and recitals, birthdays, parties, projects, sleepovers....and that was just the kids...grin
full time job, car repairs, orthadontist apts, family gatherings, school shopping, yard upkeep, dogs to vet, never ending laundry I could go on and on Whewwww. Had one in cheerleading, one in cross country and one in Karate then other two plus Dad took it. After that drivers ed for two at a time, three weddings in two years no wonder we are addled lol
But all considered I would not trade those years for anything....grin
me either moon, just don't know how we survived it
Well, when i look in the mirror I kinda get an idea it was by the seat of our pants and skin of our teeth....lol
somebody was looking out for us for sure!
hubby just came home, he's taking the trash to the dump, said he didn't realize how much there is...I was sitting innocently at the computer....
Grinning from ear to ear no doubt....lol
better check the trunk when he gets back lynnie he may be bringing it back lol
Good idea Flowers....she has told us his need to keep habits....grin
We trust you used black garbage bags, Lynn? And tied them real tight?
Rule to keep DHJim from looking.....put something yucky on top of the bag and tie it up....never give it a second glance....
yea like the cat litter that would do it
I take out my own garbage ^_^
We have tote bins. Never gets looked at again.
lol I put the trash from the bathroom over the trash from the basement
LOL cat litter as a hoarding deterrent. too funny. Smiley, only time DH ever think about trash is when i am doing a whirling dervish cleaning....says he is just looking for kids or pets....grin
I always considered 'hoarding' to be bad housekeeping.
But I see some separate the two somehow?
Frilly, Husbands tend to hoard in special ways....boxes of screws, nuts , bolts and small thingies.....not working at the moment (but have been replaced) tools and electronics....gonna fix or donate....instruction manuals for things that are no longer owned or wanted.....papers, files. etc.....and not all Husbands mind you....just the ones we know really well grin
yeah just ours! bags of papers...literally...bags.
And he has a shredder, so we have boxes of paper and bags of shredded paper for the compost pile.......grin
I told my dh he could keep any piece of stuff he wanted.
In the shed.
or the basement.
and that's final :)
I gave my husband the garage & basement, but NOT the finished side of the basement!
DH has his studio, which is clean, of course. And the far quarter of the basement, which is not, of course.
You go girls!!!! keep em in line and don't let them take over your space!!
Speaking of taking over space..... why is it that no matter the side and size of the bed...... I am clinging to the last 6 inches???
