Tall *Tree) Tales and Chain Saw Adventures

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Exactly!!

(Zone 5b)

hahaha missingrosie, I used to be like that, finally learned how to shut up....although when I get mad, there's no guarantees. Got into a fight at work just the other day.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I have noticed that the folks that are the closest to me all have flexible noses.....grin Always been so amazing that I could really "step in it' with my foot in my mouth....lol what talent! grin

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

the devil made me do it...............

BUT - normally she has a soft brown hair color ...highlighted with sort of a buttery color -- not thick but just the occasional glitter of butter in her hair. AND it is beautiful.... she never has a bad hair day... out of the blue....there she stood in my office doorway........ with silver hair!! Nothing against silver hair.... looks great on some folks naturally or colored ---- BUT --- This is a huge change and she looked a lot older and the color didn't match her skin... AND I feel pretty sure that she would have asked for her usual highlighting colors --she isn't one for change especially not for this big day. I think she purposefully stood in my doorway (in my defense, this was BEFORE I had my morning coffee) after probably a zillion people told her it looked great (because she knew better) and needed the truth! ------------Or------------- she wanted a change.....she loved it.......and I shook her up and that is why she headed to the hairdresser. It could go either way.............

(Zone 5b)

my sister asked me why I wasn't "bossing her" recently. lol

(Zone 5b)

mrosie, I had a hair dresser give me 'platinum' color instead of gold, which looks horrible on me even if it was the " in" color, I'm sure she was looking for a back up for her own feelings about it.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

What good is a friend if they won't tell you the truth? Especially when you could wind up looking silly without it.

Lessons in Tact 101
Striped pants make everyone's rear appear larger, but they make you look older than you are"

"That dress is made from such lovely material, but the color just doesn't suit your (hair color, skin tone, etc)"

"That dress is a lovely color, but the style makes you look much( shorter , wider older) than you are"

What your best friend says..".That dress would look great on you if you were 18 and a size 2" LOL

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

A friend and I have a rule about "how do I look?" We always tell each other the truth, because the DH's will always say we look great.

We also have a code phrase for something that doesn't look bad, per say, but just doesn't quite go together: "did you get dressed in the dark?"

It's nice to have a friend that's brutally honest with you, and vice-versa.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

So long as that brutality is tempered with love....grin

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

absolutely!

If we didn't love each other we couldn't be honest, we wouldn't care if the other looked like an ass!

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Thanks you have made me feel better and I think you are right Lynnie - it was platinum as opposed to her warm golden.

(Zone 5b)

yes only "cool" blondes can get away with platinum! I'm not cool ;)

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

oh yes you are, Lynnie. You be rea-al cool!

(Zone 5b)

lol

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

I think you all are cool, but I'd rather you lie to me since I can't never get it right lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi Amber, loved your story too.

Oh my Rosie...you open a whole new cleaning bug!! Thursday, worked all day on one 1 room! LOL..packed up more unused books, tossed junk from 3 years ago! and Now all i have to do is the wipe down! One room almost clean the rest of house next, room by room.
Goal is by Christmas...LOLOL, DH wanted to know where this old table throw was...It was on this shelf for almost a year! One of his drag homes, Washed it and what can i say it was still ugly! So, i told him it was in the bottom of the garbage bag, he tried to argue it's different.
Hands on hips over here stood my ground and told him It's different alright and now it's garbage!

LOL, I am so proud of myself...And i got all you to back me up, woohoo.

Also, i bet your friend did want you opinion, LOL, I could just hear your shocked comment, if thats not a hint, I dunno what is...I'd a ran back to salon same day.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good to see you Seed. Trying to do the same thing, but so easily distracted....butterfly mind....grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Seed just tell him "DON"T MAKE US COME OVERTHERE!!!" lol

Glenview, IL

Hey Moon, you know I've been in laze mode for too long, Not working so only excuse is the truth, hanging head, Dead Maid Mode is over.

lol and good luck with your piles too, heheh.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Seed...I've done the room by room thing too and my goal was either a holiday or company coming. BUT I have this horrid horrid desire to close the door once a room is done and whenever my DH goes into the room....I feel sooooooo aggravated. I end up resenting the company when they arrive..... messing up my nice clean house... HA! It's like DON'T PEE IN THAT BOWL... IT IS CLEAN!!

Glenview, IL

OH HAHAHAHA Rosie, i so know what you mean.
kids are about ready for me to go back to work...sound like a broken record.

Too Funny, heavy laughter, a great way to start weekend eh?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

It is just so easy to put that stuff off till later and later and later....lol

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Seems like I always manage to clean one room then fill it back up with the stuff from the next room...lol

I guess I'm one of those might need it someday people.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

But at least it goes back clean....lol

Glenview, IL

I hear that..lol i am notorious for leave a pile, I'll go through later, lol.

ROFLOL, I am not at all worried anything will happen to it.

Yep, there it still is waiting to be delt with.lol.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Criminey....there is never any danger of someone putting it away....big danger is any thing important getting buried....grin

(Zone 5b)

nothing is that important! just throw it all out! hahaha
cluttered house makes for a cluttered mind, for me anyway.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

me too Lynnie, if I can't use it its outta here, but somehow it allways gets replaced with more junk whats that all about smile

(Zone 5b)

yup flowers, that's how it works! it's a never ending battle!

springfield area, MO(Zone 5b)

Don't they say not to clean your house until AFTER the company leaves?
But I've never heard of anyone actually working it that way.

In defense of striped pants, they do make you look taller. For a shorty like me that is important ;)

I've been trying to clean house, but I always seem to make a big mess while trying to clean!

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

I thought EVERYBODY made a mess when trying to clean. When I say I am going to tackle this...or that...or clean this or that.... my husband says....."Oh no......." Then he will call (he thinks he is sly..) and casually inquire about what I am up to and what the house looks like..... ha...ha...

springfield area, MO(Zone 5b)

It's called progress dearie

that is what DH is told in this house lol

He usually pitches in to help because he can't stand the mess ha ha

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

You got it down pat Frilly! Smart Gal!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Happy Birthday, missingrosie !!

(Zone 5b)

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)
