Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

is that just seeds or the plants too? ok so maybe I have a problem...but least it's a problem that's actually good for the environment! LOL

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

From the storm, yes. It was a doosie.

Venice, I sent Trina 3 coleus cuttings so far. Did you make 25 plants out of those, Trina? Where do you put all this stuff?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I made 32 out of them Julie, and they are spread all over the house....and we didn't even count all the seeds I've been collecting from the neighborhood!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Smiley, so sorry the wind ruined so many of your flowers. So sad.

No one in this complex is too much into flowers. Lady next to me has plastic flowers stuck in mulch. A lot of people just have weeds. A couple down on the end get fee annuals and are not interested in anything else. I guess that is why I get compliments on my garden because it is the only one around. I used to grow tall zinnias out in the common space but they were so damaged from hail that I had it all dug up. I had to put up mesh fencing around it so duck or geese wouldn't get in it. It was too much work and I had physical problems also. It was on a slight slope so it wasn't in the best place. Had a person walk by the other day and said she missed my zinnias and other people remember them also. But no one is willing to do anything.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

so what are you going to do with all the seeds that become plants and the little plants that become big plants? If you got 32 starts from those clippings, where will they go?

Not criticizing, just wondering.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

ROFL !!!!

And do you have pots to put all those plants and hundreds of seeds in?

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

That's too bad, Venice. No one in my neighborhood did much gardening until I came along. The 1st comment I got after we re-did the front bed was "trying to show up the neighborhood?" Now they come and ask when I'm going to divide something.

I get the biggest kick out of seeing plastic tulips ringing a tree this time of year.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

My neighbor's plastic flowers are fading, thank goodness! They were an awful orange color! At least now they are more peach colored. They look rediculous!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, I think you will have to start buying pots by the gross (144)!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Tri-i-i-na-a-a-a !!! Where'd you go-o-o-o-o ????

Come out and pla-a-ay, I don't have much lunchtime left!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

She is probably checking her mail.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

I have enough pots (for now) I have all of those wonderful 4" pots from my "gift" plants theres a good 700 of them there

and I wont plant all those seeds at once either....and I think I collected waaaaay more seeds than I bought!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

sorry I was counting how many different seeds I collected and I got dizzy!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I have to get back to work now. It's amazing, feast or famine. I have a few excel projects to do, not hard, just time consuming.

AAnd we have a new mailman at work. Showed up at 4:00 yesterday with 3 pieces of mail and made up for it today.

Sigh... it's so hard breaking in a new mailman...

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

catch you all in a little while!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

LOL...do you want the list of what I collected so far, Carol?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, maybe you just need a little rest then come back to it. Do something else for a while.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

You have a list? Are these seeds from your own flowers?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

yes and from flowers around the neighborhood....I don't know some of their names

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

One last comment. There is a house in Kenmore that has the whole front yard filled with flowers. Both annuals and perennials. They tag everything. It's so impressive when things start blooming.

You always know what you're looking at. At first I thought why don't they remember what they have, but then I realized it's for everyone else's benefit.

Sometimes when they divide things they'll put stuff in a box, and leave a "free" sign on them.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

oh man I'd be in heaven!!!

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Smiley, if you are ever by there again, take a photo so we can see. That garden sounds amazing!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

hopefully mine will start to look good

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, did you leave the soil in those gift plants? Or do you have to get some?

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

some I left some I didn't. I've been through 14 bags of 2 cubic feet...I still have 1 bag but I will probably need more

Keaau, HI

Good morning everyone! Aloha kakahiaka!

Hey Trina, be careful about buying tropical cultivars from seed. Cultivars are usually propagated asexually, as the seed would revert back to the type species.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

well if I have a problem I know where you are....just kidding..it wasn't much...if it works it works, if it don't it don't, lesson learned (hopefully) that's what gardening is all about isn't it?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Trina, I can't believe you have about 16 bags of seeds. 2 cubic feet would be a square 2' x 2' x 2' ! Is that what you mean? I don't think you could easily lift a bag that big!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

nope that what I have 4 teenage boys for!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

okay Dave, what does kakahiaka mean?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Let's see one of those bags!

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

Miracle grow bags aren't that heavy, but I prefer Expert Gardener...it's a bit more meaty

Keaau, HI

Aloha kakahiaka, means: good morning. Aloha ahiahi, means: good evening / good afternoon.
A hui hou, means: talk to you later.

Canton,IL &Dent Coun, MO(Zone 5b)

well then Aloha Kakahiaka, Dave and good to see you here

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

LOL!!!! Doopy me! Somehow I thought you were talking about seeds! I missed breakfast and I need some lunch. That is my excuse!!!

Keaau, HI

Aloha a nui!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

I can't take credit for that. Free translator.com.

Thanks for the lesson, Dave. We have a customer called "Aloha Pools". We can use those phrases on him.

Jesup, GA

Hey yall,Metros dogs are cute. Didnt have to work today. Trying to rest up a little. I will post some pictures of the baby ducks swimming in the pool soon. Although our pool looks like a swamp now. We wont be cleaning it again until spring. Hoping to win the lottery so we can hire a pool guy. Not holding my breath on that one though. I can always dream. May be a house keeper as well. Our house looks like a tornado hit ,on the inside. Talk to yall a little later. Feeling guilty, so Im going to get a little house work done.
