Here is the beginning of the new extension on my house.

Single story, post & pier. About four feet off the ground. (Concrete pours are not good here because of the earthquakes.)

The wood comes treated with oxyborate (Specific for Hawai'i). The wood comes from Home Depot (probably from Canada and/or Oregon)

I will paint the wood to seal it, once it is put together.

Structures that don't use treated wood, and don't get painted, don't last long here.

I don't know why they have water main breaks and all kind of repair work to do. We had one last week and they didn't even notify us ahead of time!

my dream was always to have a big spread of a garden with little shops in it
Like a tea shop, where its all hand made teas from the herbs and stuff in the garden, and a little resturant, maybe a craft shop, a flower shop, home candle shop....just silly and only a dream...but it would be a nice place to go for a day long visit...maybe even a little B & B on the place
