Been busy all weekend. Finished my book and got out Halloween .
Then darn ole wind blew it all over.

Just call me the ghost chaser.

Suppose to get frost this week so guess I have to pick pumpkins. Read that a hard frost will make them rot faster if they are on the vine. Not taking any chances. they don't have to be ripe for jack-o- lanterns.

Smiley, my garden is just around 3 sides of my concrete apartment patio. I am thinking about digging up the ground and stones on the other side of my fence that is beside the common sidewalk. BIG job! So that would be a total of about 150 square feet. Because my garden is so tiny, I want to make sure that it is planned out well for spring.

yeah!...you said I had to count each plant not each pot...so what do I have so far?

If I gotta count each plant instead of each pot then I need help keeping track of the numbers....LOL

Trina, counting the seeds that are coming (and who knows all what you have received in trades) based on that I figure you have or will have over 2500 plants!!!!!

Seed, my Mom used to have a sign by the back door that said "Welcome, Come in sit down relax converse....my house doesn't always look like this......sometimes it's even Worse" sorta my philosophy on housekeeping.....GRIN

No trina not keeping the seeds because I had Squash borers in my pumpkin vines and injected insecticide into the vines to kill them.

Not letting anyone save or eat the seeds or the insides. Strictly decorations this year.
I have been talking to a guy who raises GIANT pumpkins and he has told me what to do next year and that he may send me a couple of seeds for a GIANT pumpkin. He hasn't raised a winner but has some 600+.

Venice not sure on the total but there is about 15-20. Not bad since I had to pull up most the vines. It was way to crowded and the SVB were bad.

Its OK. Don't know what I would do with any more anyway.
Most are nice carving size.

Dillon (GS) was here yesterday and we went out and he picked out 2 and cut them off vine.
He couldn't carry them he said they were to heavy!!

Moon I'm sure the neighbors had quite a laugh too.
My ghost are balloons with plastic draped over them. And boy can they fly!!

JJ, 15- 20 pumpkins sounds like an awful lot to me, especially when most will be carved. I can't wait to see all your ghosts and decorations! Sounds so cool!

Trina, you have 500 seeds coming and they will become plants!!! Do you have any other seeds coming? How many are you going to order on Friday?

The plastic is going on the windows. ( which really burns DH, very picky about his refinished woodwork).

The girls from Chicago will take some home with them this weekend. They usually buy some on the scenic drive. They can just take a couple of these instead.

Venice, I was thinking... maybe if you have other friends in your building who also like to garden, you guys could get together and make a community garden.

When I walked outside this AM to go to work, my brug was laying on it's side. My daughter, who usually ignores my gardening, heard words come out of me that she doesn't usually hear (from me) and said "you need help, Mom?"

I'm afraid to look in the back yard.
