Mechelle, your daughter is very good! Has she done any recordings of her material, other than on youtube? I would like to get a CD of hers, if she has one. If not, perhaps she can make one? Maybe there is a place around there where she could record a couple of songs for little or no cost? Let me know! Wow, talent and looks!

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

Put me on the CD list too!!

Middleton, TN(Zone 7a)

Aww thank you guys, she will be so tickled when I tell her! I definitely will put you on the CD List!

Hi Everyone

Enjoyed the YouTube Mechelle. Hope everyone has had a good week. Sounds like Arejay got her package after all. Wonder what I sent to Loca?

Brug meeting tonight 8:30 ET. See ya there.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Something coming my way? I heard my name - ROTFLOL!

Joan. I think she took the bus. Hope she makes it by tomorrow. LOL

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

I'll keep an eye out for her. Wouldn't want her sitting outside waiting in the heat...

Or her friend. LOL

Hey you guys. Just checking in, been working in the yard all day. Working on the lasagna garden. I'm about half way through it. Gonna rest until the meeting and will have plenty of margaritas and mojitos and turkey sammiches for refreshments.Trusty pink spatula will be waiting for everyone.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Hey seray! Joan Senior and her friend 42nd St. arrived safe and sound this afternoon! They're chillin' on a windowsill until I can plant them this weekend!

Thank you! May they make interesting babies with Jungle Beauty - lol.

Happy they are there. I hope they liked the bus trip. You're welcome.

Florence, KY(Zone 6a)

Mechelle,

I would love some more red spider lilies. Thanks!

Hornell, NY(Zone 5a)

Wow - This place is quiet today. Must be everybody is out watching the leaves turn.

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

HI Al
Not me I went to visit my sister today then went to pick up potatoes, then went to enjoy the flower garden while the dogs ran off some energy.

Hornell, NY(Zone 5a)

Hi Mindy

Kind of a slow day for me too. Grandaughter Olivia's 2nd year birthday party today, What a rip! Wish I had that much energy.

Now getting my garden packed up for the winter, cleaning out the old vines and mulching over. Getting lots of fall bulbs planted for spring flowers.

Our leaves are about half turned, will be brighter in about a week or so.
Hope to do a flyover soon when the weather is good.

Al

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

HI Al
Aren't the little ones something LOL I don't have any but have lots and lots of nieces and nephews I used to babysit. Seemed like soon as they learnt how to talk they never shut up.
Our leaves are just getting started here. The spring trees are dropping leaves but the main show is just getting started. I'm lucky enough to live in the middle of woods and can see hills all around me so I get a beautiful show to watch.
Like you I've been getting the gardens ready for winter and doing cleanup. Still like a little more work but most of it is done.
Were you the one who was looking for spring flowering bulbs?

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

How I wish I still lived somewhere that actually has 4 seasons - lol. I sooooo miss the leaves turning colors in the fall.

Been tied up most of the day with football and a birthday party and a couple of business meetings - lol. I thought weekends were for relaxing and having fun playing in the dirt . . .

Hope everyone has a great day!

sk - Kathy was one of the trainers at the meeting today! Feisty little gal!

I am still looking for a few more bulbs, daffs, tulips, crocus, etc.

I'm digging out a huge growth of orange lilies. The fans are so thick that I'm chopping them out with a shovel. We call then "Road Lilies" because they are so common around here. They are a nice orange color though, similar to "Desert Song" in the Plantfiles, should be easy to grow most anywhere. If anybody is interested I could send a huge box for the price of postage, or swap for something (anything).

Hi everyone. I been out all day spreading mulch and I'm putting mulch everywhere if it needs it or not. I got half the huge pile moved but so much more to go. I'm mulching everything in sight. Working around the ponds right now, moving rocks and spreading mulch. Man this is work. But it looks so much better and I'm sure it will help the roots of the plants. I've got bunches of bulbs to plant and got to figure where will be the best places. Well, off here tonight. I'm wore slap out and bet I'll be sore tomorrow.
Good night everyone.

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

Is nobody on here this morning?

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

I am for a little bit. Waiting for it to warm up some before I go divide bulbs and separate some plants.
How's the job going?

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

I no longer work there LOL They fired me!
I am waiting for it to warm up some too as I have a bunch of bulbs to put in the ground and a couple of bushes too. They should have already been put in but was at that stupid place working when I should have never taken the job to start with.

Hornell, NY(Zone 5a)

Some of my marigolds have taken on a second bloom with this late spell of wet cool weather. We haven't been frosted yet, but weather has been weird lately. Still nice to have blooms in October, unusual for us.

88° forecast for today - I'll be outside planting fall veggies - finally!!

Hey you guys, I'm so sore I can barely move. I hurt in places I never knew existed. But my husband and me spread 6 more wheelbarrows full of mulch today. I have about 20 more feet of the lasagna bed to put cardboard down on and will have it about ready. If it does not rain tomorrow, I'll hopefully get it finished. I moved my rocks around both ponds and mulched to the edge of them and put the rocks back and it looks much better. I still have a little more to do on the greenhouse and it will be done and ready to cover with plastic. Need to hang the door and window. Going to lay down and rest till morning and try to finish this up tomorrow. Hopefully I will still be able to move tomorrow. Good night all.

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

mekos , what kind of plastic do you use for your GH. I need to get some for mine this year. I found a place on line that sells a 12x100 ft roll of it for 113.00. Is that reasonable?

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

anybody here know about growing hibiscus from seed? gots some questions for ya

Monticello, KY(Zone 6b)

HI Everyone.
Mekos you better rest up if you are too sore.
HI Flower
HI Cue. Well I've not planted the seeds but they don't seem to have any trouble sprouting when I let them go to seed outside. What do you need to know? Oh, and I got some daylillies for you yesterday more to come she told my sister

HI Everyone

Hope you had a great weekend! Sounds like lots of work going on getting ready for fall. I'm digging up tropicals and prepping for winter. I planted Tuscan Kale and it's pretty cool looking. Kaelkitty told us about it on a forum this spring. When it gets giant size I'll send a pic. :) Anyone tried it?

I found a black plastic Tub (Halloween special). I'm going to put pitcher plants in it this spring. Found a good source on ebay. Goth. LOL

Mindy how are those grapes. Did you get them delivered to your house?

Skellogg, Holly and Trish packages go out tomorrow.

Flower what mil is the plastic you found? That's what makes the difference in your heating costs.

I like to wet a paper towel..lay out flat cover half with some seed... Not to many that you can't pic the good ones up..Fold the towel so it fits in baggie...I put on top of frig..Check in about 3 or 4 days..you'll see the little sprout..May take longer..You will know for sure which are good seed. This works so good for Hibiscus. I can't beleive it wouldn't work for any seed that size or close..

Tubby

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

What Tubby said... I've started mine that way and in my Aerogarden as well. If the seed is good it will sprout. Some say to soak overnight but not sure if that is necessary...

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

well, I dont need help sprouting them, ive got a few that are about 18 inches tall with buds all over them. my question was...

was i supposed to have pinched them back to branch? they seem awfully tall with only the leader . they arent leggy or sparse, but awfully top heavy. Ive had to stake two of them for support. was wondering if they will eventually branch on their own. they were 'Dragon heart' seeds given to me by mekos...

HI Cue

Maybe this will help. http://www.ehow.com/how_172172_prune-hibiscus.html

hmmmmmm

Montrose, AR(Zone 8a)

Good morning all... Home safe and sound from our journey..Things went well considering death took us away from home unexpectedly...It rained all day yesterday about 4 inches total...Rain forcasted for next 3 days, sure hope we miss that..Have plenty of work to get done, need the sun to shine for a while the garden is knee deep in mud....Havent gotten the greens planted yet every time it gets close to being dry enough to work out there, it rains all over again...Hope it doesnt drown my irises....

Hope all is well with you all, I see flooding has happened in several states...Stay safe and dry..

Montrose, AR(Zone 8a)

I have a package coming?...oh my surprise surprise...I love packages...Hubby is starting to fear the mailman...Never knows whats coming in those packages...Probably more work is what he says lol

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

I don't remember what it was seray but the place I found it was for that kind of thing so I assume it will be a fairly good strenght and heavy. I'll have to go to the place and look to make sure.

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

Did I just read there is yet another package off to points unknown sent by persons unknown?
