New bees chit chat thread...Seed Junkies welcome

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

No that's fine it is a catcus and it takes alot to kill them, so water for them isn't a problem and the heat won't bother them LOL

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

I just wish it were tougher. I can't believe how much broke off.

Hi everyone. Just checking in for a minute to catch up. I'll check back before going to bed. Haven't felt good today. Been laying around all day. My bloodpressure is up and head hurts, but don't know why, I haven't eaten anything to cause it to go up. (I don't think). I'm liking this cool weather, even if it is sprinkling a little. This is good for the plants. WOW Arejay, frost this early????? We hardly ever get ANY snow, but the cold days like that are usually in NOV. or DEC., then JAN, FEB, and MARCH. April brings warm and planting weather. I think we got 1 dusting of snow last year, 1-2 inches, and maybe one the year before. It's been a while since we got any real snow. I wouldn't know how to act with snow. Probably have a snowball fight. My husband is always wanting to move to Alaska. He loves the snow as much as me. Well, talk to yall later.

Orlando, FL

blondie

RRM, sorry about the cactus. I just got one in the mail today. So pretty.
I was just wondering, (this question is for everyone) just curious- I've seen different colored flower pots and if everyone had to choose, what color would you choose? Would you choose your favorite color or choose the color that would match your porch area or what? and what color would it be? I'll tell you why later(and I'm not buying flower pots, just wondering about colors), so please tell me what color would you like to put a flower or vine in, on your porch or in your house or what ever. What would be your favorite color? Come on everyone, I really would like to know.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

My favorite color. I like the Terra Cotta color. It goes with about everything. It's red
without being brilliant red. But Green is my favorite color, Then Orange.
Is that too many colors. I have different colors. I'm not very Organized.
If you know of someone wants a starfish send them my way. I got plenty.

Thanks RRM. Come on you guys, who is next? Bring on the colors, please? Arejay, Loca, Blondie, Flower, Mindy, Seray, Mechelle, Granny- who am I forgetting? Everyone?

Hi Mekos

If the plant is showy on it's own then I use black plastic or terra cotta. If it's small delicate or a mix I usually use a complimentary color especially if it's on display.

On the container gardening forum TomTom usually displays hers in terra cotta. Beautiful check it out; http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/995034/

While KatG uses a variety. For some eye candy watch her slideshow here: http://katg.phanfare.com/1709026_4678153#imageID=78673723

I think it is part of the creative process and each one will be a unique expression of you. Like a piece of art. :) Some being more successful than others LOL

Yes, Seray, I want to see the unique part of everyone, that is why I'm asking for their colors. I want to know everyones color. I like cherry bark red. It's sort of a black red color.

Hornell, NY(Zone 5a)

Green Mekos, dark emerald green. The same color as my old Lincoln Town Car.

Al

LOL I like dk emerald green too.

Thank you- AL. I'm checking in and out to see the colors so please keep on. I appreciate this. When you talk to someone and get their personality, (or when I do) I get a feeling of colors toward the person. Like with some foods- I taste something and taste a color- grape tastes like purple, epsom saltz is green, (my daddy used to make us take a spoon ful as medicine when I was a kid) honey is yellow, strawberry is red, etc. Personalities are colors too. ( I think Cue's color scheme is black- loca is pink, arejay is lavender, mindy is light blue) So this is why I'm asking to see what I thought, verses, to what you really like. I would imagine AL, as green, Mechelle red, Blondie purple, Seray tan or beige, and so forth but would appreciate it if you would tell me what your favorite color would be if you had a flower in a pot and what color would you pick for the pot- then what your favorite color is. I'm not up to anything, just a curiosity thing.

OH Seray, we posted at the same time, so I really was off with yours. I took you as a neutral color.Maybe skin tones or earth colors.

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

I like the emerald green also, but always when buying I lean to variable purples and blues.

Florence, KY(Zone 6a)

I like earth tones so the planters blend into the background and the plants stand out.

It's really nice to put a color to a person. I like it. Thanks you guys. This is neat. Anyone else?

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

Yes Jan Lavender!!

WOW. Thanks Arejay. Anyone care to say the MONTH they were born? I was born in Dec. - blue birthstone. My husband was born in May- emerald green birthstone. My favorite color is blue( turquoise)- blue and green!?! But as a pot or trim of outside- I like cherry bark red. My favorite flowers would be tropical colors- like orange or purples and yellows and mixes of those colors. Anyone ever thought about a color for a person? I guess I'm just weird. I like to match up a person to a color. I think this is interesting.

I can be beige or tan. LOL

Mekos you seem blue to me. Flower is bright red or orange. Al is yellow. Cue is purple. Blond is blond. LOL Robin is rainbow mix browns and oranges and lavenders, Hollyhock is orangy yellow, Mechelle is pine green, Skellogg is light yellow, Loca is orangy rust, Lollyjean is lavender pink, Who did I miss? Ridesredmule is rusty red.

I also like terra cotta, earth tones, tans, browns, dk greens, rust, etc. Don't like pastels at all. Even painted all the rooms in our house in earth tones. Favorite color to wear is probably red, tho. Born in July, ruby birthstone.

To me Skellogg you're shiny like bright sunshine. Definite yellow! LOL

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

How in the world did you come up with bright red or orange for me seray?

Isn't this FUN?

Sundance, WY(Zone 3b)

That's cool, seray! What a nice compliment! Must be why I like red, fiery temper! LOL

To me Flower you are like a gerbera daisy. Cheerful and always with an eye on what's happening. Quiet yet very deep roots. I grew them commercially and I know them well.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

OK mekos - pink is a little off, though I do like dusty rose. Purple - that's my favorite color - but black is my favorite non-color - lol. See cue, we do have something in common besides a name . . .

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

I like neutral earth tone colors as well . . . Orange rusty kinda fits that, right seray?

Mekos - my birthday is in December, too. So is my husbands - a week after mine - lol.

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

flower - the Clematis seeds arrived today!! Thanks so much. Can't wait to see what they are - lol. I'm gonna make 'em grow here whether they like it or not!

Sundance, WY(Zone 3b)

What color is stubborn? I need to be that color too. LOL

Loca earthtones does fit how I see you. Complex and soothing at the same time. You have a silent quality like the desert itself but more aware. Your purple is lighter than Cues to me.

Sun is pretty firm in it's presence Skellogg. LOL

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

That is such a compliment seray Thanks.

Glad you got your seed loca hope they flourish for you.
Going to call it a nite. Good nite all

Ok, my month is May.. My favorite color is purple.. I have chosen terra cotta, dark green, grey, white planters lately and did an off white for hanging planters to match my porch. But just to confuse everybody, lol, I really like earth tones. My wedding colors were burgundy & hunter green.. I like hunter green with tan a lot. But when I go clothes shopping, I always tend to like black. My school uniforms are all black, so lately I have bought even more black. I just think it's a good color on me, idk. I am up so late, got my sleep schedule mixed up.. Gotta start going to bed a little earlier, lol.

Hunter green. That's how I see you Mechelle. Elegant , classy confident.

I'm out for the night. Thanks for a fun chat topic Mekos. Have a good night all.

Going to take something more for my headache, just checking in. Night ALL. Going to try to go to sleep.

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

well Good Morning everyone??? miss me?

been so busy here with work and school. Kid comes home with so much to do, it almost feels like IM in 5th grade all over again ( and I dont recall having this much work when I was in 5th grade.. hrmmm)

Hope everyone is well. will have more time during the weekend to chit chat. Miss you all!

Sundance, WY(Zone 3b)

Morning Cue! I know what you mean about school work, and don't understand that. Especially around here, as they have lowered all their standards on what students should be learning in their efforts to "leave no student behind". Seems they spend all their time trying to figure out what to send them home with for school work instead of class room work. Just glad I don't have to go back to school! Wouldn't want to be a student now!

Litchfield, ME(Zone 5a)

Good to see you Cue!!
