Judy - mischief? attention? moi?
Just because I'm the "baby of the family" doesn't mean I get into mischief LOL oooooooh right, you guys are beginning to know the Real Me roflmfbo!!

hehehehehehe

Let's see now.......... cutting material for the Signature Blocks........ getting more responsibility at work (at the same time, they're telling me that some people think I'm a little 'hard to take', but that I'm very nice, extremely capable, and they Do Not want to lose me.......) Hmmmmm that last bit sounds like I'm a bit of a handful LOL
They're giving me some tech & organizational work as a Team Lead, cuz they want me to do some setting up of teleconferences, because my boss doesn't have enuff for me to do, and I'm full time.
I thought at first that they were talking about letting me go, but NO - they think I just need to have more work to keep me busy so I'm not having time to chat with other people lol They really like my capability, so that's not an issue! ^_^ They will work with me, cuz they want me to succeed ^-^ I kinda guess you had to be there to understand that this is all a good thing! The fact that they're trusting me with not only my current job, but adding another portion (with me as the Team Lead) means they really appreciate my capabilities and want to keep me happy!

Tubby

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Tubby - you are something else. You always manage to give me a chuckle. At least now I know what to expect??????

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Tubby!

Good Morning Everyone!! I don't have breakfast but we have coffee!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Best of the Day - Tubby's jokes LOL
Worst of the Day - Transcribing meeting notes lol
What I learned - That I'm annoying to other people I work with, when I stop to talk to them in their offices. It's going to be more of a "speak when spoken to" kinda life at work until I get some more "tolerance" in my 'personal bank' to where people will tolerate my chattiness........ or quit being ME (I was told by HR NOT to quit being me, just tone it down a bit.....)

I was also told by HR that it's likely because I don't have enuff to fill my day (I've been telling my boss that for a long time - it's one of the reasons I'm on here, during work days). I've been given a new (sorta new to me, but it was work being done by someone else, for a time) project, in addition to my current job. I'll be setting up teleconferences and doing the certification for physicians who attend the mini-conferences. It's a huge responsibility, and a bigger job, but I'll be the Lead to a team who will assist me.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL I'm loud and everywhere I work I get told, including here. The difference is here my boss doesn't expect me to change it, because I can't change my voice or personality. In CA they wanted me to change both my voice and personality, can't do that without surgery and psychology, if they're not paying for it I'm not doing it! LOL I have more than enough to fill my day and I'm still here all the time :p LOL We have a very small office of 12 people and only 3 men, so it can get very cliquey, and I don't do gossip and cliques, so I just engulf myself here, and my boss knows it and doesn't mind, so yay!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I'm in a building with 4 floors, and over 1,000 people in our company (2 other companies occupy other 2/3s of the bldg).
I'm in a position that deals with execs, research physicians, and many administrators.
It's distressing to know that I annoy people - it isn't a good position to do that.......
Especially when I've been given a position (in addition to my current job) that will deal with a lot more people. The VP of HR said it's because she trusts me, and knows my professionalism will shine, and that I can re-create my relationship with others. She wants me to succeed in the company, and says she Needs me, so does Not want me to be concerned about my job.

Sorry for the vent - I'm really feeling upset today, and it'll take me awhile to get past my feelings. I'm just a softie that gets easily hurt........

Hello Everyone:

Well, we just talked to the Dr. and Terry's biopsy was negative. We they are just gonna keep and eye on them. We had to go get hid INR checked this morning and see how thin his blood was. It's not quite where they want it, but said it takes a couple of days to come up. He has to go back tomorrow and will see where we are at. We are so thrilled that everything was negative. We want to thank you for all your good wishes and prayers. They mean so much. And crossed fingers..

We also went and seen the Eye Dr. and Terry's eye is getting better. There is just a little inflamed, but will continue the drops and check back in week. They may have to do some more laser on it to put a couple of more openings in it. They want to do the right eye down the road so the same thing doesn't happen to it. We just keep taking it one day at a time.

We will check in with you all later. Again, THANK YOU all for the well wishes and prayers. They are greatly appreciated. Happy thoughts and well wishes to all of you.

Tubby & Shirley

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Shirley that you so much for the update!! I'm so glad to hear the biopsy came out negative, and his eye is healing fine. When it rains it pours!

I get my feelings hurt easily too, just the way it is I guess. I've learned to just calm down (there's that phrase again) and not take things personally, it's all business related. I used to work for Cingular Wireless in the call center of 2000 people in one big open area, people told me they could hear my laugh clear across the building LOL!! Just remember Susan, you'll never be able to please everyone, even in an office of 12, one person says I'm too loud and there's people here who are a lot louder than I am.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

ok, thx Crissy

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Just a quick run through and a wave to all, have Sage here today....

Tubby and Shirley, what wonderful news!!!! Will keep the thoughts and prayers coming that things stay well with you both!

Glenview, IL

Hi everyone!

Sigh of releif and happy smiles, So Thankful for your update Shirley and Tubby. As always contining prayers that good health returns...

Wow, What a great way to end the week, hearing everyone is getting excellent news on the health and wellbeing.
Thank You Dear God!!
I am so happy, i could just do a LITTLE JIG, LOL.

Bev, You Go Girl, We are so PROUD of you, lol now don't go overdoing things though. Amazing how much gets done though, when not taking that puff break, lol...

Crissy and Susan, When I had a crew, We blabbed all day long, but when it got right down to serious work, We teamed it up and got things done, and as long as it was done correct, go ahead and chatter away...We had this one lady, who would stop everything she was doing to carry on 5-15 minute conversations! Drove me absolutley bonkers. Our work, was mostly all hand work and no real reason hands couldn't be going while chatting....MY gosh almost forgot the point, lol that is as long as Your Bosses are happy with your outwork, no need to change, you just have to learn how to work around others...Them wanting to give you more is a great indication, woohoo, I always said "Bring it on" So don't change how you are for anyone but yourselves!

OK...Thats my pep talk for this glorious day.

Finally done with my morning running around, and i don't mean the excerise kind...So finishing up some laundry and packing.
Then Yikes, must be nuts 'cause I am going to go serve spegetti to freshman football team, I am equally as curious to know how much Spegetti it takes to feed all those big boys!

Oh Trisha, you and Sage have a fun day.

Will be getting back in a little while.
Enjoy the afternoon everyone.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Keep on plugging Susan, and ignore the gossip and take what your boss says with a grain of salt, if she likes you and has said that, that's all that matters. If someone or someones are complaining, she has to say something even though she may not agree herself.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Judy & Crissy - I have 2 bosses. One who's happy with whatever I do, and the HR VP who has given me the additional work. She's a lovely lady who told me that she's gotten feedback on me. Everyone agrees that I'm nice, and very capable, but that I'm annoying because I stop by people's offices and chat (simply because I haven't had enuff to DO....). She said she didn't solicit the feedback, but that people (when they found out about the additional work she'd given me) came to her about it.

Now that I also report to the HR VP (Donna), she had to tell me, because it's a new project and she wants it to succeed. As I said, Donna's a lovely lady, and she had the same issue as I. People didn't tell her until she'd been here for 13 years that people couldn't be in the same room as they cuz she drove them nuts.
Judy - I guess I'm the same type of person - I'd drive you Bonkers too.......

Anyway - you're right - giving me more work is a Good Thing, cuz it's showing confidence I'll do a good job ^_^

As I said, I can be "over-sensitive" and I suppose I'll get over this.
btw - Donna said I should talk to someone at work, that I trust, and I don't know anyone here I'm that close to. I'm afraid that it will 'colour' the working relationship I already have with them. Since my previous co-worker (Keri) left a year ago, I've had no one I'm truly close to....

enuff of my soapbox lol

~Susan~

Glenview, IL

Aww Susan, You just go ahead and drive me bonkers...
Your bonkers is much different, you don't have something to do because you already finished it...
Her bonkers was insane cause she never finished the work because she was to busy gabbing, then always cried how she needed help to finish at end of day...I blabbed away all the time and still managed to complete everything, I was suppose to and then some...and guess who was left to the bitter end to close the doors of our department, lol and i even had the last wqord and said Goodbye out loud.
ROFLOL, you bet, I'm nuts.

...LOL, maybe I drive you Bonkers with all my blab, but hey we do it lovingly
So Cheer up..Take on the new fun project, The boss lady thinks you be great for so you should too.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'm not close to anyone where I work. I guess I've made it that way myself as I sit right in the middle of the "lobby." Every morning all the women go into someone's office and has a 'powwow' for a good 30 minutes, I just am not into that cliquey crap. Too much drama for me.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I'm near No One (except for the-one-who-won't-talk-to-me-but-has-taken-another-job-in-the-company person - she's here on her lunch........cuz I guess it's too much for her in the new dept??? She has a point6 position with the new dept, but will be here for 8 days/month....arrrrrrrrgh). they're not posting her position, so aren't hiring anyone for it. blech on company $$ cutbacks!

It's kinda lonely here, with no one approaching/talking to me, so I when I have work to get/go to away from my desk, I end up chatting..... My Bad! siiiiiiiigh.
I'm in a little quiet area with no other desks or traffic around - except on the other side of the wall is an elevator. I hear people chatting there, so I take opportunities to talk to them, too - pretending I was on my way somewhere away from my desk and Happened to run into them.......
I sound pathetic, even to me!! lol
Guess it's getting to me............................

~Susan~

Glenview, IL

Oh Man, I sure can relate to the lonely part.

We ran a 12 person work room, right next to copy Center, who we worked with...So always someone to talk to forever, then as we got downsized, and people left, geesh, I cried alot because i was so lonely, made for a real long day.

You sound like a sociable person who like to interact, so this new project you will lead sounds right up your alley!

But in a better view, I had Betty and everyone here to keep me company, like you!

LOL, Noticed you didn't say anything about me driving ya bonkers, lolol.
