Wonder Laura I'm so glad to see you and sad that you won't be renewing, you've been a member for a long time! I've been wondering how you're doing, and I'm glad you're doing ok.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today..visit with friends #120
lol trisha wow mail is fast
will keep looking what else i need to thin out
Hello To All;
Barb - Hmmm.. Fabric softener...I wrote it on "The List".....scented works best? Does your lil spitfire play goalie? Or out there 'making goals..." how fun..When I am a Grandma...I hope to be at every game too... I would love that....
Thanks Liz! I think so too... I guess this is silly...but I think somehow Mom (In Heaven) is going to send me a dog....if someone said that to me 10 years ago...I would have thought... "What a wacko"...but now...older....having been through life...I do believe this...we'll see if I'm right....
Thanks Crissy - guess we are just 'two peas in a pod'..... You all miss CA so much...I read it often. Is there anyway to make it back there one day?
Wow - did you get the hornets nest ? I think I would have been scared to do that...we had a wasp nest on one of the canna leaves (the "mom" plant to the one I sent Trisha)...I wouldn't deal with it...made DH do it....
Trisha - Wish I could send you a palm tree! We sure have our share of them. DH bought a baby queen...we have 2 "teenage" queens. Then we found that 15' tall palm...it's doing well...
waving to Laura "Downunder"...can't you renew and visit us some more?
Hello LK , Susan, Liz.....
Well - I'll check back in a bit. Sure isn't the same without Betty...but we are all doing our best...and she would want us to keep it going. Thanks to you who are taking charge in her absence....
I feel the same about the Band Booster Organization. Meeting tomorrow night...my first meeting "not in charge"....but in quite capable hands....
HUGS to all,
Mary
Mary I miss the things we used to do and my friends, I don't miss living in the State whatsoever. I'm ready to go back for another visit, but I don't have the vacation time (the cruise last May was so worth it) and Dave doesn't miss anything about it, so he says, but I think he misses SF LOL! We are two peas in a pod!
Dave went out and pruned that vine a little this afternoon, he got the outside good but only got the two ends of the inside. He told me they only bothered him when he was putting the vines on the compost pile on the edge of the forest, but he didn't put the vines in the compost pile, just left them in the yard and on the storm shelter. It got too dark for me to pick up as I water at dusk now and it does get dark on me. Maybe there isn't a nest, maybe they're just going after the Muscadines. Around 7pm I counted 7 hornets on the leaves of the vine.
Dave did say he would do it, but when I read that a nest may have up to 700 hornets protecting it I changed my mind. I can deal with it, fall is quickly approaching and we're going to tear those vines out late this fall, winter, or very early spring anyway and plant a veggie garden!
morning all,
lol crissy dont know how you do the hornet thing!
i have trouble with wasps and they keep me running all the time,
just ask judy's son he says to me "your such a girl"
will say your right on things like san francisco lots to do, but i wouldnt look back if we moved either.
we just got slapped with two of our vehicles registrations are due in november omg 400.00 just for those im so discusted and one is requiring smog.
well dh got a call from the liver doctor, his blood work is somewhat stable not to much change, but they saw another spot on the ultra sound on the liver so tonight we have to go for a m.r.i it could be just another scaring on the tissue pray that is all it is.
hi mary, awww hope you get a new furry one soon, do you have any dogs now?
bev, how are you doing feeling better? hows scotty did you get rid of that nasty bee hive?
hi laura, nice to see you post glad your doing good oh check with dg they have a special fund if you cant pay your membership but im not sure on the details.
tubby, how are you doing geting better?
hi susan, shar, lk hope your all well to.
judy, bet your busy now with all school, how is julia liking school now did she get transfered with her job yet?
is sebrina practice driving some more yet (giggling away)
and the little con man what mischief is he getting into?
how is skiddles.
not much new here waiting for bosses daughter to give the green light on a date for the garage sale in sept, im getting rid of alot done with clutter lol
oh new girl is simply wonderful!
the other one who is giving us greif she is a good worker but is one of those who cant stay focused so it takes her the whole day to put anything away, well she did a classic she left the bank deposit in the desk drawer not locked up in the safe.
so my boss saw this and needless to say district mgr came at 3.30 yesterday mad as heck,
it is a terminating offence, so i wont know till i get to work wheather or not she still has a job or it was a write up, i swear seems like just when its perfect something go's wrong!
trisha, oh some of those have become quite large well i hope you have success with them the one lobed one is from the cactus that has those catus pears,
its funny i have a few hispanic familys that knock on our door if they can cut the leaves and pears when they are ready,
i tell them dont ask their yours just cut away, lol this is a good thing then i dont have to prune it back they keep it well manicured.
those pears are good but to get past all those prickly spikes and not have them imbeded in your fingers is quite a challenge.
susan, oh look foward to seeing pictures.
well off and running got a few things to do befor i get to work
hello to all i missed hope your all good have a wonderful day
but thats really strange, did something happen? i mean she started this thread????

Wonder is not leaving any time soon. I just paid her subscription for a year
Bev that's just wonderful. I'm SO PROUD of you. It is not east, I know. I'm just getting past the 5 month mark myself. I too quilt cold turkey after nearly 50 years of it. You are doing great. I survived on deep breaths and Tootsie Pops!!!! I wish you continued success and will pray for you too.
Mary, my little soccer man plays both safety and goalie. He is so much fun to watch.
Tonight is the first practice so I WILL be there.
Saying prayers for Cindy (purpbutfly) in CA. She is so close to the fires.
I'm off to shop for tote fabric so I'll check in later. ~~~~~to everyone.
LK you are wonderful.....
Haven't had time to read any of the posts..wouldn't you know, wanted to jot down a 'hi' but office is swamped...few hospital trips by co-workers and it's a catch up situation..
Am doing fine, know that each and every one of you have been in my thoughts and prayers.....
It's a sunshine day here although I've had to wear a jacket, summer is all but gone..
With travelling and family commitments it seems that I've had little time at home this summer..so hoping to at least spend a few days home this weekend....
Family members and friends in need so I've taken time to try and help where I could
Been hard but got a facebook note from sister telling me how terrific I've been helping all and that's alone has been worth it...
My apologies, will be back soon, will try and drop in here and there until I can spend more time...
Know from all the problems you all have been having you can all appreciate the need to be a sister/a daughter/ a friend!
Love you all

This explains why I forward jokes..
>
> A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead.
>
>
>
> He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them.
>
>
>
> After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble... At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.
>
>
> When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold. He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side.
> When he was close enough, he called out, 'Excuse me, where are we?'
>
>
>
>
> 'This is Heaven, sir,' the man answered.. 'Wow! Would you happen to have some water?' the man asked.
>
>
>
>
> Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up. 'The man gestured, and the gate began to open.
>
>
>
>
> 'Can my friend,' gesturing toward his dog, 'come in, too?' the traveler asked.
>
>
> 'I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets.'
>
>
>
>
> The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog.
>
> After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence.
>
>
>
> As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book.
>
>
> 'Excuse me!' he called to the man. 'Do you have any water?'
>
>
> 'Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in.'
>
> 'How about my friend here?' the traveler gestured to the dog..
>
> 'There should be a bowl by the pump.'
>
>
> They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it.
>
> The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog.
>
> When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree.
>
>
> 'What do you call this place?' the traveler asked.
>
> 'This is Heaven,' he answered.
>
>
> 'Well, that's confusing,' the traveler said. 'The man down the road said that was Heaven, too.'
>
>
> 'Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's hell.'
>
> 'Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?'
>
>
> 'No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind.'
>
>
>
> Soooo...
>

>
> Sometimes, we wonder why friends keep forwarding jokes to us without writing a word.
>
> Maybe this will explain.
>
>
>
> When you are very busy, but still want to keep in touch, guess what you do? You forward jokes.
>
>
>
> When you have nothing to say, but still want to keep contact, you forward jokes.
>
> When you have something to say, but don't know what, and don't know how, you forward jokes.
>
>
> Also to let you know that you are still remembered, you are still important, you are still loved, you are still cared for, guess what you get? A forwarded joke.
>
> So, next time if you get a joke, don't think that you've been sent just another forwarded joke, but that you've been thought of today and your friend on the other end of your computer wanted to send you a smile. (That would be ME)

> You are all welcome @ my water bowl anytime!
Hey Tubby, glad the Dr, could fix your eye! We will be praying for you tonight! Please let us know what the result are?
LK
Good Evening, peeps!
I've twisted my hip, or something, cuz it's sure painful! I can't sit down, or stand up, or move properly! (turning or bending is what I'd have to do to move, and That's not gonna happen!)
I called my DH & he's bringing home 2 seafood dinners from Joey's Only Seafood (I don't know if this is only a Canadian restaurant, but they have specials on Tues!)
I'm in pain enuff that I'm gonna play "Diva" for a bit and go into the hot tub...
cya later!
~Susan~
Sorry I haven’t gotten on for a couple days; I got distracted when I was on the computer.
Liz, unfortunately quitting smoking is on the back burner; I’m just under too much stress right now.
Barb, School starts for Sage on the 11th, though we are working on getting the sleep schedule back online. I meant to keep her close during the summer, but intentions didn’t meet up with reality.
I GOT A JOB INTERVIEW! It’s working in a grocery deli cooking food and making sandwiches part-time, but it’s a foot in the door. Please I really need this, so any one who wanted to send out good wishes or prayers would be hardily thanked!
Good Wishes for you, Laura - and thoughts and prayers, too ^_^
Blessings on you, Laura ^_^ ^_^ ^_^
♫♪♪♫
~Susan~
Get that job Laura! Thoughts and Prayers going out to you girl!
Argh hit send before I wanted to.
Tubby love it!! Keep em coming!
Wonder Laura how cold has it been there, with you working on that house and all? I'm so glad to see you back and hear that you are doing good! Hang in there!
I'm going to bed, can't quit coughing again so took some Nyquil about 30 minutes ago and it's kicking in!
Have a wonderful night everyone!

> THE POTTY
> A LITTLE THREE YEAR OLD BOY IS SITTING ON THE TOILET. HIS MOTHER THINKS HE HAS BEEN IN THERE TOO LONG, SO SHE GOES IN TO SEE WHAT'S UP. THE LITTLE BOY IS SITTING ON THE TOILET READING A BOOK. BUT ABOUT EVERY 10 SECONDS OR SO HE PUTS THE BOOK DOWN, GRIPS ONTO TO THE TOILET SEAT WITH HIS LEFT HAND AND HITS HIMSELF ON TOP OF THE HEAD WITH HIS RIGHT HAND.
> HIS MOTHER SAYS: "BILLY, ARE YOU ALL RIGHT? YOU'VE BEEN IN HERE FOR A WHILE.
> BILLY SAYS: "I'M FINE, MOMMY... I JUST HAVEN'T GONE 'DOODY' YET."
> MOTHER SAYS: "OK, YOU CAN STAY HERE A FEW MORE MINUTES.BUT, BILLY, WHY ARE YOU HITTING YOURSELF ON THE HEAD?"
>
>
> BILLY SAYS, "WORKS FOR KETCHUP."
thanks for the encouragement...
hanging in
Laura, I'm saying special prayers for you. I know how badly you want to work and I'm sure He will answer all the the prayers from all of us.
Sage must be getting excited about school starting again. But it sounds like she has had a good summer.
My youngest DGS had his first soccer practice of the year last night. Oh boy do they need work. I think the coach could have spent the whole hour just on the principles and good manners!!!! Focus is not a word they want to hear that's for sure... I give all these coaches so much credit for all their patience.
Cindy, I just LOVE the hairdo. I swear it took 10 years away. I'm still so thankful that you and Mom escaped the fires.
Yesterday was a shopping day and I got the material for my tote. I hope she likes my choices.
So today will be a sewing day. I'm off to the machine.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
Hugs, Barb

A new Publix supermarket opened in Bradenton, Florida.
It has an automatic water mister to keep the produce
fresh. Just before
it goes on, you hear the distant sound of thunder and the smell of fresh rain.
When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and you
experience the scent of fresh cut hay.
In the meat department there is the aroma of charcoal
grilled steaks and brats.
In the liquor department, the fresh, clean, crisp
smell of tapped Miller Lite.
When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck
and cackle and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying.
The bread department features the tantalizing smell of
fresh baked bread & cookies.
I don't buy toilet paper there anymore.
