Trying to figure out what this one is.....I don't remember planting it .
Garden Photo's 09.....#37
Great photos, everyone!
LH, that Ribbonette is a real beauty. An old cultivar, too.
Allison, you got some really great hummer and agastache shots!
Willie, the Ceropegia ampliata is definitely an interesting plant! I'm surprised Victor didn't have a comment for that one. Did you take a look at the link, Victor? Here it is: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/61117/
That lily is certainly not Tinos, Willie, but it's nice, nevertheless. It might be Orange Electric. What a nice one that is!
Celeste, I love Tuptin. Will have to add it to my wish list. Your Rocky's Eye looks great. I have that one, too, and love it. Royal Jester is a wonderful one, too. And I love Shocking! That last shot is great, too.
Karen
Celeste! Don't drown!
Victor! So nice to have you back 'home' with your sense of humor intact!
I'm working on learning Picasa this evening, thanks to a suggestion a bit ago from Louise and Jo Ann. I hope I'll get to upload some photos before the night is over.
Everyone's blooms and blossoms are incredible! It's amazing how happy our gardens are even with all this rain!
For now ... some Black-Eyed Susans
BES are always nice to have.
Karen
Blown away by those beautiful DLs, & Jo Ann's Landini lilies---yes, Pixie, I will be at Louise's RU---I would love to have the sea holly, but only if you think they can live in the car for awhile since we'll be heading to Mascoma Lake for a few days, then on to K-port for a few more days. Willie, that's a plant I've never seen before---do you have to keep it in the greenhouse? Victor, nice to see a healthy bat----many of ours have white-nose disease. Here are some tiger lilies...
thank you Karen... we just got home from the county fair... in sussex county... man are we whooped.. but I got to see some of my buddies I used to ride with...
the flower portion of the fair kind of stunk this year... I did take some photos that I will post tomorrow
nite all
Great stuff all! I'm too far behind to comment on everything!
However, I do want to thank everyone for the bestwishes for cooler weather! It seems to have worked! The last two days have been 94-95 deg. which is still quite warm, but at least opening the door isn't like opening the oven anymore. The nights being an equal amount cooler makes a ton of difference though. Now it's much more humid and they're predicting sever thunderstormes..... but that's an entirely different creature and I'm sooo happy for the prospect of upper 80's by mid week!!!
Willie, Pixie, and Allison..... I love them all.
Bill.... wonderful echies!
Robin... that last one is a fantastically bright one!
Jo Ann... I almost forgot to mention... Love the red collage. You probably knew this already, but just in case it is the color of the candy lily that you don't like, they do come in other, more saturated, colors. They're a little harder to find, but I think that they're prettier.

Jo Anne Here's a link to 'x Pardancanca (candy lily) pictures. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/91648/
Victor, I forgot to mention... good to see you back. Did your "shot" of the deer manage to help anybody's problems with them :-p ??
Thanks RC
I have a candy lily thats called Sangrilla.I wonder if its the same.
Planted this year, ordered from Hallsons I think.
PS Its about to bloom so I'll compare.
Pix are impossible today ,very overcast and drippy.
Oh good. I would love to see. I lost my candy lily several years ago to stinking gophers and just haven't taken the time to hunt down a replacement. I figure that some day it will likely find me when I'm looking for some other plant.
here are the fair pictures

Looks like we're in for the same drippy, dark day you are having, JoAnn.
I haven't seen a single bat all summer, glad to see such a nice healthy one, Victor!
Those 'Celestial Shore' lilies are very nice, Celeste. Another great string of photos!!
I do have to keep the Ceropegia in the GH for the winter, but it hangs out all summer. I'll have to get a better shot of it growing down out of its hanging basket. Looks like there will be many flowers on it this year.
Those pardancanda sangria are sharp-looking, JoAnn. Looking forward to seeing photos.
Nice shots of the Fair, Allison. Seems like you had a perfect day for it.
August is bat migrating season.
I hope the house full (8) from California since Tuesday ,will be able to find something to do elsewhere on a day like this.
Raining straight down.
Looks like the Liquid Sevin I applied for Lily Beetle and Jap Bean B. wasnt well timmed.
yes it was a good day for it Willie... a bit hot but they have enough shady places to go hide.. when the sun went down it was perfect... just wish the barrels would start earlier... the real part of the show didn't start until 5... over 100 riders that didn't end until after 12... when we left the poor senior class just still running... that show was always torture... get there early in the morning to get a parking space... and the one year I did not run until 2:00 AM... just nuts... but my old trainer and buddy won the show and got over $1,100 ... so for him a day of torture is worth it... and nothing like being the 114th runner and changing the results that kept up most of the show... it's kind of like bracket racing... top time sets the pace 2nd division is a 1/2 second off the top time... 3rd division is a full second off the top time... 4th is two seconds... most of the show the pace was set at a 16.2... he came in with a 15.9 and changed everything toward the end... always exciting
I have been seeing bats all summer here... dusk is my best time to spot them
Thanks, Shelly. I don't mind the deer when they're somewhere else. They are federally protected in the park.
Thanks, Dyane! How are you feeling?
Ugh. Hope it fades soon.
nice stuff Dyane.... feel better!!
Pretty echies, Dyane---hope you will be feeling better soon. I also started 'Double Click' from seed, but don't see it blooming yet---all the other cosmos are out---maybe it drowned. Jo Ann, I'm liking that purple candy lily. Shelley, so glad to hear the temps are going down---now if ours would only go up! Or just see the sun, & not hear the every-other-day thunder that's driving my dogs nutty.
Dyane... nice echies! I can't wait to see what your coral reef one looks like when it opens up. Glad to hear that you're a little better.
Thanks Robin! I'd gladly give you 20deg...... or more if it's 108 again! lol.
Jo Anne... I hope that's what your candy lily looks like!
Pretty echies and I also am interested in seeing your CR open all the way. Hope you feel a lot better soon.
Can someone ID this plant for me? I also posted this in the ID forum too. I'm just eager to know what it is.
I found this by the old shed after the rain and have no recollection of it growing in there before nor remembering planting it.
What's strange about it is - there no leaves or a crown. It's just a stalk with the flowers on top popping from the ground with no leaves at all. The stalk is about 3 feet high. The flowers are pale lavender - almost semi-transparent with bluish tips.
I'm thinking it came from a bulb but have no idea what it is. Maybe it's a weed, but it sure is pretty.
My mystery plant is finally solved. Somebody nice ID it for me in the ID forum.
Resurrection Lily (also called Magic or Naked Lily). Actually a member of the Amarylis family. All this time I thought the foliage were daffodils as it appears during early spring. I was wondering why they were not flowering when the rest of daffs were blooming like crazy. The foliage dies way before it starts blooming hence just the stalk mysteriously popping out of the ground during mid-summer.
I planted some of those this spring. I read that it takes a few seasons for them to settle in. I made sure to mark where I planted them so I would know what they were when they suddenly appeared.
Shelly, did you get your seeds in the Summerhill seeds coop?
Thanks for the warm wishes everyone.
Speaking of waiting for a bulb to settle in...I've been waiting 3 years to see this bloom. Peruvian Daffodil. I started it in a pot under lights early in spring and then kept it in full sun outside. In past years it has only grown foliage.
Oh no! I can't keep up here in the limited time I'm getting the internet these rainy days. BEAUTIFUL and PLENTIFUL flowers, everyone!!! I want one of each!!
Welcome back, Victor? Tell, tell about your trip!!
Pixie - I'm jealous....my Dave47 phlox aren't blooming yet......could be because the deer enjoyed them as a delicacy early in the summer...I think they're recovering, but don't see any flowers yet!
