Garden Photo's 09.....#37
Beautiful Jo Ann! The lily in the bottom right cornor of the second picture getting ready to open....is that 'Tom Pouce'?
Hi Pixie
Yes it is T Pouce. Bonus from Hallsons.
Its short right now ,just planted it in May.
I love that lily!!
Allison, Love the fair pics. The tiny barrel racer is too cute! Glad you had a nice day for it.
I need that 'Green Eyes'! It woyld look great next to 'Green Jewel'
Pensacola---you have elephant ears----it's a huge bulb, & will come & go in FL, but must be overwintered in the warmth up here. Jo Ann & Bill--lovely photos---I like the Casablanca lilies & dark purple monarda together. Here is calliopsis, another plant from the jar of wildflower seeds I was given---it's like opening a present every day to see what opens from the jar.
Yes I know that it is an alocasia which is commonly called elephant ears but which one?...........lol
James
Dyane.... I'm not sure which seeds that you're talking about. lol. sorry. If you're meaning Rudbeckia Cherokee Sunset, that is one that I hope to get seeds off of because I'm pretty sure that it wont make the winter here. But, I bought it as a plant. A lovely 2$ score on one that's in a 4" pot!!!! The peruvian daffodil is pretty. Hopefully it was worth the wait.
Lovely pics Jo Ann! Especially that 5' dahlia.
Bill, great stuff! So,those varieties of rudbeckia hardy there? If so, it's one that I might like to try to make a go of it.
Great shots, All!!
I have always wanted to plant resurrection lilies! Great shots!
The EE might might be a colocasia? perhaps a stressed black magic, etc.?
I bet LariAnn over in the Aroids forum would be able to tell you in half the blink of an eye! Have you tried posting it over there for an ID?

DDV will try to winter over the bulb if she can get it out of the ground, must be the size of a basketball by now.LOL
Shelly, I thought you said that you had started Cosmos 'Double Click' from seed. There was a seed coop last winter and that was one of the varieties offered.
Dyane
shelly i started them all by seed this past winter so i will know next year:) they are supposed to be.
Sorry Dyane, that wasn't me :-( The only cosmos that I have is Chocolate Cosmos :-)
Thanks Bill.... I look forward to an update in the spring then! Hopefully they make it for you. I think that the yellow ones with the green eye, like your last pic of rudbeckias, are usually hardier than the others. So, hopefully you'll have at least that one!
JoAnn - lovely garden shots! You've done so much with the plantings in your yard in a very short time! Kudos!
Dyane - hope you're feeling better! What a trooper to put on a weekend-long birthday party when you are so sick!
Bill - I love that Green Eyes CF!
Marilyn - love the bright colors of the calliopsis!!
Shelly - glad it's cooling off to the low 100s for you! LOL Hang in there....and seriously, take it easy in that heat!!
Shelly, I went back and looked, it was Robindog. Sorry about that.
Thanks, DonnieBrook. I had help with the party so I was able to pull it off. My daughters turned 1 and 2 so you just have to celebrate that!
Did they blow out the candles together? Happy birthdays to them both!! Our granddaughter turned one on Friday. We didn't get to go to her party in Colorado!
Yay!!!! Glad to hear you're cooling off out there, Shelly. I know it's been miserable for you guys.
Nice pics from the fair, Allison. I like the horse shots, especially.
Love that Green Eyes echi, Dyane! That's one I want to get. The Peruvian daffodil is cool, too. I hope you feel better soon!
Tex, that Resurrection Lily is like the colchicum or autumn blooming crocus. Foliage appears in spring, then dies back, then flowers come up in fall, without foliage. Really cool!
Your place is looking great, Jo Anne! I love the 5' high dahlia. Very pretty color.
Bill, I love the Pink Volcano phlox! Very lovely! And your shot of the BES is great!
That is an excellent shot of that Kwanso bloom, Willie. Love it!
