I can't believe you all are still slugging away!!!!
I saw all those slug photos and it really got me creeped out! Yuck! So yucky! And that slimed cabbage! Oh my!!!
I really think I now have limaxaphobia!
(fear of slugs) lol
i have slugs
be afraid, be very afraid ;)
venice it is nice to see you on this post. Thank you for giving the meaning of the word. I have a few good size words in my vocabulary, but most of them I just made up. I call them circumstancial words. The meaning varies according to the circumstances. Lot of us red necks do stuff like that. Lynnie and I have been jumping between two threads and it just dawned on me we were the only ones posting on either one. All the girls are out right now but they are fun to play with, when in. Hope you stick around, we need fresh blood to keep us honest. This is destined to be the longest running thread ever, because there is no solution to the slug problem.
why jim I do believe I'm boring you!
No sweetheart, I just tickled that we were jumping back and forth and just talking to each other.
I'm trying to post those pics, stop distracting me ;)
Yes'em.
ok they're on the mint thread
I was also posting on a concrete thread on the landscapers forum...
You are a busy little girl. I figured out the answer to Cat's question about this thread being so slow to open, this is "The Slug Thread."
I'm headed outside. Humidity or not I can't take the house anymore.
Lynnie, you are the one with those huge, I would call them, boulders! I guess you are right, no chance moving them once they are in place.
I am just a city Northerner with just a little garden around my apartment patio.
All of you have REAL gardens! Or farms!
Jim, yes you have a beautiful selection of day lilies. And your rose is one of a kind!
And who was it that had those lovely peaches! Wonderful.
Loved seeing all the other flowers and veggies.
I have some questions or I must have missed out on some info along the way. If you don’t mind helping.
1. Way back when, Jim did you mention slugs in your sermon?
2. Why did you soak your hay?
3. I am not a member, but do you have a photo to post here of that monster?
4. And who was it that said that they bought MiracleGro for $2? Where was that?
That's about it!
1. No I never did but all the gang accused me of it. All in good fun. I did, however, have a few slugs in my congregation.
2. I'm soaking the hay because I'm going to raise tomatoes in it this winter.
3. Yes.
4. I don't know but I'd like a transport full at that price.
5. I'm crazier than a March Hare. Threw that in in case you haven't read the whole thread.
Ooops! Wrong picture. Got to go hunting.
I'mmmmm Baaaack. Now yore gone.
Ya know what they say about paybacks. I got mine. Dh helped carry in groceries and then had to go help someone. Left me to carry all the meat to the icky basement freezer
He knows I hate the basement!
Tonight it is bologna ( I had to sing the song to spell that) and CHERRY PIE for supper.
Welcome Venice. My DH was just in your neck of the woods for Brickyard 400.
I don't think Jim ever said why he soaked hay'
There is a pic of the cantalope way up around the July 13 postings
beat me to it
*grin*
jj I hate the basement too!
Hi Venice, glad you liked the day lilies. Send me your email via my D-Mail it you would like to see the rest of my yard and garden.
Hi jjs, good to hear from you. Wish I was at your house for bologna sandwichs. Love that stuff. Only thing I miss about my store is getting that stick of bologna and cutting a few slices about 1/2 inch thick and throwing them in the skillet and pouring barbaque sauce on them. Good eaten, Yeah.
I moved those pictures to an album last night. When I went to look, they were not there. Finally found them in the trash bin. Now tell me how I messed up. Well at least I got them back.
How did you do that Lynnie?
Jim you can right click on any picture and just swoop it up and put it where you want.
It's called stealing. But in this case I was just helping you out :)
haha I think I missed the post about it tasting bad.......
Mine has dirt floors in half the basement. Old house Work in Progress.
According to the abstract the land was given to a soldier in 1812 returned to land office and then in1853 given to another soldier. I have copies of all the papers and the letter that was signed by President Franklin Pierce.
Believe the house was built in 1854
Had not mentioned it. Still getting over the taste.
Sorry I got lost in the mulch!
Jim, do I just send you a D-mail then you automatically get my D-mail address?
Not sure how this works.
Jim, Would you like a piece of cherry pie to go with your bologna?? :)
Go to your dmail. I explained what to do in it. You should have a notice up that you have dmail
Absolutly.
I have a daughter not to far from you Venice. They live in Enon, Ohio.
it's actually cherry pit pie Jim lol...
jj half my basement is finished and the other half is where my husband stores every bit of junk he can get his hands on...can't stand to look at it.
Venice I liked your mulch, pretty flowers too. I was cruising around testing out my new membership.
Right click, SWOOP. hmm
I can't copy and paste. Somehow it always gets lost.
Jim when I went to see your pictures I got a BIG OLE WARNING from my virus software. I ignored it.
But if my puter goes crazy now cat or Lynnie is gonna have to come fix it I already have two laptops that don't work.
The invitation to view is in your personal email, Venice.
Where are the pics of Venice's flowers, Lynnie?
I don't understand that. All are personal photos I made. All I did was spend half the night waiting for them to upload. I've had probably 20 people view them and haven't heard that from anyone else. I figured a site like Kodak Share Gallery would be secure.
I know the feeling Lynnie cept its the garage here. I cleaned it out for him once when he was working out of town. He didn't appreciate it.
Don't worry about it Jim. I was kidding about something happening I'm sure it was fine.
Probably has more to do with my computer than your pics. I am the world best computer crasher. Few minutes ago told me I wasn't connected. I have DSL and hadn't touched anything
You are about as literate as I am, when it comes to computers.
I have some photos over in mulch. Start at the bottom and work up. But it is certainly not a biggie like this slug site.
Did you find Venice's flowers?
They are in Landscaping.
Welcome Venice;-)
Lynnie, your Rose's are gorgeous and you have a lovely place to boot! Must add as well....we have lot's of ornamental (white rock with hint's of pink ) that are every where here in our part of the mountain's of Virginia not too mention boulder size too.....just come on and get them. All different size, shape and color's and I must add, abundant creek rock which has a smooth surface as well. Make's for great landscaping material!
Cat, thank's for catching me up on your brug. number's now day's. I missed something somewhere;-) A friend of mine and her mother have "A" Brugmansia that has been a success here in the ground for the last 5 year's. Their's do not get very large in growth but the bloom's are extremely large and breath-taking to view. I think I may ask for a cutting of one of their's and see what I can do with it.
Jim, I figured your monster crop would look as such;-) Love it
Chezca must be taking her " chill time" ...it's the weekend .
Jim, I only had a chance to view some of your photos until Kitty walked across my keyboard and my computer froze. Now I can't see any of your photos! They are gone.
I hate to ask, but would you please send them again? Kitty is under the table so she won't be walking on my desk this time. Thanks.
I think it's in the landscaping forum, on a thread about dyed mulch.....you want me to ..ahem...go get 'em & put 'em over here? We can be the slug & picture stealing thread.
once something is in cyberspace it's out there forever, no calling it back.
