horse-high,
pig-tight
And
bull-strong.

*Keep skunks and bankers at a Distance.

*Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.

* A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.

* Words that soak into your ears are whispered...not yelled.

* Meanness don't jes' happen overnight.

* Forgive your enemies. It messes up their heads.

* Do not corner something that you know is meaner Than you.

* It don't take a very big person to carry a Grudge.

* You cannot unsay a cruel word.

* Every path has a few puddles.

* When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.

* The best sermons are lived, not preached.

* Most of the stuff people worry about ain't Never gonna happen anyway.

* Don't judge folks by their relatives.

* Remember that silence is sometimes the best Answer.

* Live a good, honorable life.
Then when you get Older and think back, you'll enjoy it a second time.

* Don't interfere with somethin' that ain't Bothering you none.

* Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a Rain dance.

* If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin'.

* Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got.

* The biggest troublemaker you'll probably ever Have to deal with,
watches you from The mirror every mornin'.

* Always drink upstream from the herd.

* Good judgment comes from experience,
and
a Lotta that comes from bad judgment.

* Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot Easier than puttin' it back in.

* If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some Influence,
try orderin' somebody else's dog around.

* Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.

Best I get a move on!

Just arrived to the office..bit of turmoil...Paul not coming in, they had strapped a monitor on him for the day, has to go for eye test as well..then Suzanne might be leaving, her sister Marg (my SIL) was rushed to the hospital during the night, not sure if a heart-attack soooo that's what is happening in my life today...mass confusion..

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good morning everyone!! I'm so far behind here I think I'm ahead!

I had to go AWOL, yesterday went to hell in a hand basket. My co-worker, the girl I share jobs with, not the other secretary but the other one who constantly says she's moving to Dallas but then doesn't, called me at 9am yesterday from her desk to mine, saying she should have told me last week when she sent the email out regarding the hours/days she needs off this month, but she has to leave at 4:30 every day this week, and maybe she should call our boss and let him know. (that keeps me here til 5 every day.) Oh I was so mad I saw red, stupid little B does that so she can't be told No, and she sits there looking all la tee da saying she's my friend, friends don't do that to friends. I told her it would be a good idea if she Did call him and tell him because she certainly didn't want me doing it. So later my boss came out here and took me back to his office and told me it's crappy what she did and I can work whatever hours I want to. She came up in the afternoon trying to talk to me when I was on the phone, you know no one and nothing matters as long as it doesn't have to do with her, so I continued my conversation on the phone and ignored her. She's so 'whatever' I can be on the phone on a business phone call and she will buzz in and get mad that I didn't answer her call.

Sending you thoughts and Prayers Betty. Please take care.

Bev, you have to wonder about meds that are taken, wether they do more damage than good..thank goodness I take NONE...Rick felt confident though that she was settling in? what a scare for all of you...
Will keep praying for her needs...

Crissy, drats that is inconsiderate isn't it..well, think you did well to have her tell the boss herself, how HE knows you've been inconvenienced but like a trooper will handle things...don't you just love these people who live life thinking it's 'all about me'...sure hope I'm not one of those..sometimes when I post a lot I think I am..always something going on in my life wether programmed or not...

Barb, did you enjoy your outing with Norm yesterday, what did you get up to..

Debbie, praying for your needs...

Judy, what kind of mischief are you up to today..

Linda Kay you must be sewing?

Laughing here, I'm riding around with bags of cement in my trunk..if only it would stop raining I'd pour a few leaves..had thought Cathy might drop in over the weekend and do a stained glass stepping stone and that's really why I purchased the bags...but not, so now a chore for me when I get home...

this morning I was up and at it, did a little more work to the floorcloth..was sure I had butterfly stencils but not so don't think I'll worry about adding them to it..tonight I can start giving coats of varathane...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Took a little time to catch up. Betty, you had a bad day too, I am so sorry everyone is sick, please take care and let us know what's going on.

She's always inconsiderate like that. It's about her and no one else, and NO Betty you are not like that in the slightest!

Betty, I wanna do that at work! I seriously need to get off of this and get to work, but I have to tell ya, I went to a garage sale last Saturday and bought this small rag quilt kit, comes with everything, then I get it home and read the directions, it calls for a sewing machine, stitches set at 1cm (I think, I'll have to look again when I get home.) I don't have a sewing machine LOL!!

Glenview, IL

So nice to see your smile Betty!

Well, I got a late start on something decided to make for RWB, so diligently working on it, OH my gosh...Think this will be the last Swap until later in the year...my fingers need needle break.

Guess what! We are having a ML Reunion, This weekend, so I need to print up some "leisure" Cards.
Have kind of a small gathering, only 80 or so, But some of these people I haven't seen in years, so it will just be wonderful to see them all again...The really cool thing is everyone one and anyone whoever worked for the company was invited, and the fun thing is we were asked to wear ML attire, should be fun to see all the different logos from over the Years. I am going to wear my I Blitzed Chicago shirt (I did blitz Chicago for about 18 years too!) and wear my name badge and got to find my Yellow Jacket...LOL what a story behind My ML jacket.

The weather is cold and icky so just going to work around the house today, spend time on DG..oh and later got to take Jake for his physical...that about it!

I like you pot holder Betty, it very pretty.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

ML Reunion
What does ML stand for?

McDougal Littell, School book Publishing, I worked there for 21.5 years, and I loved it for at least 20.
LOL, during my time, I sure I "quit" a couple dozen times too, lolol...All in all it was an amazing journey that I would do again in a split second!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh my, sounds like a very interesting job?
LK

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sounds as though it will be a lot of fun Judy..aren't you glad you are a packrat and didn't throw your clothing out...it's same kind of weather here..chilly/chilly..they were saying it was in the 90's last year 'today' and it's only in high 50's today...that shows you just how weather patterns are changing...

Just gabbing on MSN with Sharon (sister) she was suppose to leave tomorrow to go to Kalamazoo MI for a dog show but her back is giving her mega trouble again...she just said in mid October she's going to Sacramento California for a big show...hey, maybe I can go, rent a car and do some sightseeing with her after the show...

Glenview, IL

Aww, a little stroll down Memory lane!

Yep, I was the Lead in our Clerical/Production room...LOL, never knew what my official title was in the end, was an array of them but in the end It was I who closed the doors to our department. Very Bittersweet as when i joined the company, I just couldn't figure out why they hired me...It was the slow period in April and by October, I was wishing I had a vacation. We worked like a well oiled machine as a team and that was the one thing that that I really enjoyed. We were referred to as the Dream Team. We had unbelevable due dates anywhere from right now to 3months in advance. Sending out Promotional materials to sell our books was the name of my game, and it was my job to see that all the projects left the house.. the most awsom was the variety of work, I got to know everyone and work with just about every department in one way or another, so fortunatley I learned a great deal from some of the most talanted people in the industry, and I had the best toys to play with.

Thanks for the interest and ohwah! You just helped me write a great cover letter..will just have to tweak it a bit, I think. LOL.

Oh Betty, i hope Sharon's back heals up...maybe she is doing too much.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Trying to talk me into going to California in October with her...

Glenview, IL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will if I go...so many different things I'd like to do..I get excited and then I weight the pro's and con's..mom still wants me to take her to Florida...forgot to check my loto ticket, will need that to do all I want to do..lol

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

lol! There's a Bingo hall at county line, would love to try that sometime, I love Bingo!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Do you really Crissy..I used to run a bingo as Rec.Co-ordinator on Monday and Thursday nights..haven't been to one for ages...now on Tuesday evenings (OMG that's tonight) there it t.v. bingo..it's on t.v. and the cards are sold at local stores, 3 for $5.00..only play 6 games..100/200/300/400/500/ $1,000 jackpot..last Tuesday of the month jackpot is $2,000.

Just might buy myself some cards and play..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

They have a canadian bingo on tv? Wow, that would be neat. Oh no it wouldn't. It would get me into trouble! LOL

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Just a quick check in......Mother in law is coming home from rehab tomorrow.....she was up and walking well with her walker when we arrived...will sure be glad when she is doing well enough for my SIL the Drama Queen to go home.....we get along well as long as she is on her side of the state and we are on our side.....

Sunshine is back here...supposed to be in the seventies this week....I don't like the cement mix I had...but there is still half a bag so will probably use it.....hope to have enough left on payday for the the good stuff......too many projects I want to do!! Today....go out and work on the side patio....I know it is there somewhere.....

The birds are enjoying new bird bath location out back....had a little Chickadee severely scolding me for interrupting his bath...

Sending prayers to all who need them....it seems like the list is getting too long to list individually.....

Hope you all have a wonderful day, will check back in later.

A fifth grader asked her mother the age-old question,

'How did I get here?'

Her mother told her, 'God sent you.'

'Did God send you, too?' asked the child.

'Yes, Dear,' the mother replied.

'What about Grandma and Grandpa?' the child persisted

'He sent them also,' the mother said.

'Did he send their parents, too?' asked the child.

'Yes, Dear, He did,' said the mother patiently.

'So you're telling me that there has been NO sex in this family for 200 years?

No wonder everyone's so grouchy around here!'

It's actually the Lyons Club bingo..several other agencies have them as wel...it's Tuesday night at 8:00 pm..they have a telephone number and you call in your bingo..they actually have all the cards computerized so as they call numbers they know if they should have 1 or 2 or more winners and they wait a few seconds, if no calls (could be no-one has purchased that particular card at the store) then they call another number...Tripps Painting Store is where you can pick up your winnings the next day...what is nice about it, is children can play but an adult has to call it in..Kyle and I won $400 a little while back..now he's 13 he's a little too old to play bingo with grandma..lol so I gave it up but I just might play tonight..

The Lyons Club has done marvellous work in our municipality from the funds they've made with t.v. bingo...are you sure there is none in your area?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad MIL is doing o.k. Trisha..you brought a smile to my face talking about SIL...some relatives are more precious when living further away..lol..

Seems as though many of us are having same weather..chilled to the bone today, still haven't warmed up since Sunday I guess

What is wrong with the cement you have..does it have rocks in it...when Atlas Block is closed I purchase mine at Home Depot...will cost me more in gas if I keep driving this cement around in my trunk, heavy bags..could put a tarp on the ground and set them on it and cover, but the dampness would cause it to harden...

What is it you want to make with it...have you ever heard how to mix newspaper with cement and create flower containers? meant to try it last year but season got away from me..should try it...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I am sure, nothing like that here! Wish there was.
Let us know if you win, then we can start planning that cruise, after you get done running to California!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Right, left my wallet in the car, should go get it and check to see if I've won the $14million last Friday...omg..what fun we'd all have on that cruise...you know you'd all be coming with me!!!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Yes, too much rock in it for my taste.....
Want to do a few more leaf baths, a Pumpkin Bath, a leaf garden bench.......
Sage and I are going to get the stars aligned to do the frog stepping stones one of these days.....

Would love to do some of the Hypertufa (sp) planters also some of the cement sculptures they are showing on one of the threads....wouldn't need a kiln to do those!! Also want to make some of the Japanese Stone lanterns...I love them but they are very pricey to buy...

there is an unending list of projects I would love to do......where is that winning lotto ticket? I'm not greedy, it wouldn't have to be the single winner 28 Million the guy won recently....I would happily share it with one other person!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

well guys, don't pack your bags..had 2 tickets for different draws, no go..only 2 numbers...yuk..

Trisha, I only purchase the one with rocks...

The project I was talking about isn't hypertufa, was done differently..must go find the site and post it..sister Sharon keeps saying she'll come and visit and do some but never finds the time..too many dog shows...

What may I ask does a pumpkin bath look like?

One of the girls I loaned my bench mold to was telling me she went to a local garden center and purchased a pair of cement legs - $50.pr...I have that bench I made in the very back garden, should pick a set up and set amongst the flowers...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Found the link Trisha...actually it was on DG that I found it..gives great instructions...

Glad your MIL is doing good Trisha. LOL the other side of the state!

LOL Tubby!

Seems I saw tv bingo at some point in time, but don't remember where, seems like it was here in AR though.

Well I've worked myself into sleepiness. Now that's bad. I need to go to Starbucks and order coffee with about 10 shots of caffeine in it!

Baton Rouge, LA

Betty - I'll have to show that pic to DH...he'll love the papercrete containers...they look like real rock....

Trisha - you can share the lotto with me :)

I guess I need to start buying tickets...this job search is depressing me enough to want to keep my old job....

crissy - if we just had nicer co-workers - wouldn't it make life easier?

Hugs to all,

Mary

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hugs Mary! Today isn't bad, just updating the directory of about 500 names and addresses I have to look at, put me to sleep!
