Where about in MA, Iris? We LOVE Cape Cod!
With all the clouds we've had (and rain) I'm glad I was inspired enough to learn more about my camera since I've had it for five years already!
I'll settle for just the wrinkles disappearing and forget the veins.
GE: you punt well!
Now, this really would be a long view if I took it from across the street but I didn't.
Let's See Your ARBORS and TRELLISES! Part 3
ge1836, Good, And, I wont think anymore of it, ~A lesson learned for me, I will only make helpfull suggestions to people who know me from now on and who know I would only do it out of good intent.
I'm sure gf wouldn't appreciate that honking early in the am. It's almost enough to wake up the dead!
pirl, Worcester. ~Cape Cod is awsome, Been there, Cape May, New Jersey is too, Ever been there?
Know what you mean on learning more about your camera, Had mine almoost 3 years and 'still' learning.
quote: I'll settle for just the wrinkles disappearing and forget the veins. ~ Me Too! LOL!!!
That photo looks painted and is Absolutely Beautifull!!!! Love the compositon on it!!
I even know it's pronounced Wooster! I used to take 290 and 90 to my sister's home in Acton and it's just west of Kassia so I know of the area but don't think I've been in the exact city. Spent part of my honeymoon on Cape May with all the Christmas lights on the decorated homes - beautiful.
Thanks.
Pirl, Your right, It is pronounced "Wooster" there lol!!
Part of your honeymoon in Cape May in Christmas, Must have been soooo beautiful! ~I've been there in the early summer, Camped right on the ocean front there, But, Never been there around Christmas time, I can only imagine how really beautiful it must have looked at that time of year!
Your welcome!
Funny because I've never been there in summer!
Back to photos and gardening while the sun plays games.
LOL!
I agree, Back to the gardening! It's 'çooking' out here today! Hope it's cooler where your at! Enjoy your day!
It's beautiful!
thanks.
There is anothe JI opening. I thought it was Butterflies in flight but now I thing its Plum Frost
Very pretty. That lily is stunning.
I will compare it with Music Art. I cant believe how diff. Grafitti is from the web pic.
When your Purple Lance Astil becomes mature it will be quite a looker.
I'm sure.
Frosted Plum is certainly a beauty. I do have one little trellis just to hold back some of the lilies so they won't fall over the JI's.
I'll wait for a sale on trellises.
The deer got me again.
Not a clean sweep of everything but when a 2 year old garden is so sparing for flowers 3 DL 'buds is a lot. They got 1 here and there of other things .
Liquid Fence Failure.I switched to Repells all.
Circle the entire garden with it and then get closer to the bed. Sorry about the deer: I share your pain because they got 10' of Hosta Plantaginea (see photo) and one entire Limelight hydrangea (all the buds) but not the same hydrangea 3' away where I did use the Repels All. Of course, by then maybe they were full of the hosta!
Sorry this photo isn't the clearest but I was stunned to see the damage. They did not touch Sum and Substance - not a bite!
SO !!!!
You'll
be drinking all day
HUH?
LOL
Just coffee until cocktail time!
Its really not funny.
I dont have as many deer as many `DG'ers but 2 can make me really feel depressed.
I believe I heard that an adult deer consumes 12 pounds of vegetation daily: our herd is 17. Can you envision that in rose/lily/phlox buds and hosta leaves?
Any of us suffering from deer damage have to realize our plants are just a snack for them.
I never feel sad when I see the dead ones on the highway.
Neither do I.
and I thought snails were bad !
Both are the work of the devil!
I've been lucky they don't seem to bother the yard plants. We have them in the woods behind the house most of the time they must have enough vegetation back there to keep them out of the yard. A couple of winters ago a small herd of about 8-12 were coming in and cleaning out the bird feeders even then they didn't bother much of the plantings. Got so bad that I finally put out a corn feeder hate to do anything that will draw them in but they were coming into the bird feeders anyway. Luckily when spring came they stopped coming around. Sometimes you will see them along the hedgerow on the other side of the lane or at my small pond but not often.
This pic is terrible as it was taken thru my sliding glass doors. That blurry bush on the left is my Holly hedge at the edge of the lane.
I yell at them when I see them, they run.
They also do most of their damage at night or early before dawn.
Love all the colors, Jo Ann.
There is practically no difference between Music Art and Grafitti, they dont grow near each other in the garden.
The web pic for grafitti made it look like a green lily with dark red center.
Now I need a lavander -purple lily in with the Fatas and Music Art. A lily is the only thing that will fit in that space.
There was a purple lily on some popular online site like the Lily Garden but what height do you want?
Would this one be too tall? It's Black Beauty (not black but a very nice dark red):
http://www.thelilygarden.com/pages_lilies/orienpet_3.html
I haven't found the purple one yet.
I was just looking on B&D lilies and they have a Sumatra but its sold out.
I am looking for OP 's or anything 32" or over.
I might move a Husker Red to the area to relieve the eye of so much yellow.
There will be white Phlox there and some 7 foot white lilies in the background.
That's just glorious Holly
'Purple Reign' is white with wide brush stokes of purple.
How did I miss your wonderful photo, Holly?
It is a beauty and a grand entrance as well.
