Well darn Synda,,, I wanted to meet you in person,, but will be glad to meet everyone else,,, I am going to BJ's!!!!!!

Morning all! well, it would still be morning if I was still in Kansas City. Randall pampered me this morning, bringing me my pills bedside with kisses, then letting me go back to sleep. was a bit worn out from everything.

here's the scuttlebutt on the fleurs....very few TBs in bloom. mostly the median irises, and a wee handful of siberians. That area has had a very cold and wet spring which set prime bloom back about 10 days. about now the TBs will start blooming. each day that went by, the bloom got better..... almost. The 2nd day of bus tours, it started to rain on us but didn't, then did that evening, with torrents of rain, high winds and hail. the last day all the blooms were shredded.

We saw a lot of differing levels of culture. Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens was thrilled to become a display area, had lined the guest irises out in beds where they basically just stripped off the sod. since the beds were below the surrounding sod level, you guessed it, the water pooled and they experienced a lot of plant loss. It looked like they did nothing else to help the culture, either. Contrast that with the "Two Jims' Garden", where another irisarian helped them with bed prep and fertilization - they had the best bloom of just about any garden. Both these gardens had other plants to see as well. Overland had a "Monet" garden that was gorgeous, with older irises incorporated into the plan. the two Jims' garden was a delight to the eye, with lots of species iris plantings.

On the optional Tuesday tours, we saw 4 St. Joseph area gardens. Here's a photo of the only blooming irises they had, which is up near the house where it would have been microclimate warming.

Oh Bon, so sorry to hear you got bad weather for the trip! And all those pretties got ripped fromt he hail! I bet the owners of those plants were not happy?

I would love to meet everyone at BJ's Kris,but the way my back is acting up,I wouldn't be too much fun.I have an appt.with an Orthopedic Doctor Thursday.

And that Darn Appt. is at 8:00 in the morning.......If I had chickens,they wouldn't be up that early!!!!

Stacey so tatoo huh? Where are you getting it done at... I have 2 and the last one wasnt as bad as I thougt but was very tender.. lol A rose on my chest for emory of my mom who loves roses and of course my love of gardening...

Ewww Synda Im sorry you have to be up so early and at the doctors.. Nothing worse than being someplace like that first thing in the morning...

Cody love the beautiful daylily shots.. My babies I brought along and just planted are sending shoots out for blooming.. Cant wait for my pretty yellow smiles from them..

Bon love the iris shot.. They are in bloom everywhere here and I just keep watching for a few gardeners to start dividing so I can visit.. lol

Jaye and LK thanks for your prayers and huggs.. Dad seems to be better today as we have checked in on him twice but his eye is really bad.. He is very apologetic to everyone and says he knew better.. I hope he remembers that...

Just talked with Deborah and we are ready to roll--we think. This should be some trip--picking up Elfs-Garden (Kris) just hope she is ready for the 2 of us.

There isn't THAT much blood-if I can bear to get it, then I am gald you can bear to support me:)

Kris-DH ins't happy, but the last time I checked my shoulder was next to MY arm, not his;)

I was given a certificate from my sister one year to have a tattoo of a ladybug --on the check of my choice. I will never tell!!!!

Oh, LInda Kay we will all miss you so much. Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I do know tht when I am sick all I want is my own bed!. See how you feel at end of the week.

Donna, I am so sorry that things are still so hard for you and your family. I hope the job with the nursery comes through since you will at least love working in the dirt. When people see what you can do you will have lots of jobs with plants. I am glad that you are able to have the girls visit and possibly come to live. They do love to be with your family and they deserve to be happy, too.

Packing tonight as I have to work tomorrow and Wednesday. I hope I am taking the right closthes for all of the weather zones we are going through. It has been 60's during the day here, but close to frost last night and the last few. The city doesn't get it but the outlying areas do. Such is Michigan! then down to the hot South!

I hope I remember everything; have my list and things to do but the mind doesn't work as well as it used to so there are always things that I forget.
Let's see...clothes, Marion's fabric, food to eat along the way, take the dog to friends, maps and directions (where are those directions BJ gave me?), my pillow, of course... What am I forgettting?

OH Kris, you lucky ELF you,lol. You are going to have so m uch fun. Wished I could stowaway in someones luggage but no on from Ca going that direction.

I'm here in Marysville, just me and the dogs and cat. More packing to do :(. I want to be out of here by Friday but don't think that's going to happen. Oh well, it will happen by the end of the month though. Poor mom she was so tired when I left her house and she has to bowl tonight. She'll probably bowl really good too. Well need to catch up on tv shows that are recorded on tivo so I'll....................................

Well, I called the blasted number on the back of my jury summons card, and the recording said that court will in fact convene at 9am tomorrow morning... DARN MY LUCK !!! I had wealy wealy wished that it had been cancelled...
Wouldn't it be a hoot if I'm sequestered in some jury room for Mem Day Weekend... ???
I'm plotting my excuses for not being picked for the jury now... gonna dress really tacky tomorrow... maybe that'll work.

Well, these guys I live with are looking at me with hunger written all over their faces... so, better go do something before the decide to eat the furniture.

Nope... Stacey... Monday we're going to antique shops and a tea room for lunch... Rose Garden has to be on Sunday because that's when Phyllis is available, and she'll be the guide.

AND, I can NOT watch LK's son inflict pain on you, dear fairy lips... so, I'm going to the Rose Garden.

Oh my now I have a problem--I don't like to watch things like tattoos either but I said I would hold Tink's hand--blindfolded mine tell you--but I wanna see the roses. Phyllis has promised me a "rose garden" or something like that.

Oh we are going to show up at BJ's for sure. Just had a route change is all but never the less it all leads to BJ's. What? Kris will need to be rescued don't scare her off--we promised to be good didn't we Deborah. Oh forgot when I talked to her she said she didn't have the computer--think that is what she said --busy talking about chocolate candy for fuel purposes!!

We had a very windy cool day, no down right cold with the wind. I am not even sure it made it to 70. It was enjoyable, no workman and no one discussing the drain field. Thank goodness.

Well I am off to bed.

Notice the time of this post? My Larry has been asleep in this chair in front of his computer with MY monitor attached to it. This chair in front of MY MONITOR is where is works and plays. I have to grab the computer whenever I see him going for the bathroom. He even eats dinner at the computer! Yep, he has it bad.

Count down 2 more days until hitching a ride with Marion in Albany then off to grab Kris and yank her into the back seat then off into the wilds of Ala headed for the big ol' state of Texas! We'll probably make night fall sumers around Mississippi (I love writing that word cuz I sing it as I type it.)! Marion and Kris get yo going breeches on cuz we on our way to BJ's!

Cody I love the way you color up our thread with purdy flowers and Synda with craZyy faced cats. LOL
