That's one of my hostas, Guacamole growing in full sun. I won't recommend this to any if shade's available.
Last year, it was much smaller than what it is now.
Kel's tackling the a/c unit. So, I'm off to 'supervise'. C me later ladies.
I made it...............
Yaaahoooooooo!!!! My nephew is coming down and giving his mom a ride to Seattle so mom and I don't have to make the drive tonight!!!!! Don't really mind taking her up at all but it is Sage night and DH wasn't looking forward to having her on his own....cuts into his nap time. And it is long trip for mom, and she would insist on going along....I think she is ready for a rest.
This is a good Rhubarb Recipe...
http://www.elise.com/recipes/archives/001934strawberry_rhubarb_cobbler.php
Thanks Trish... maybe someday I'll have to try some rhubarb.
Cody, that fountain is really cool!
Jaye, I was quite proud of the costume, I designed and pulled it off, even if it is just black fabric dots attached with push pins. If we’d had the ladybug wings like some of the girls did the costume would have been perfect, and it was still one of the best there, if I do say so myself.
Her mother being there was fine, Sage was happy and I didn’t have to talk to her; though she did look like she was dressed for a Marilyn Manson concert not a 2nd grade play.
Evening sistahs
Well my liscense is transferred but I hit some complications with work.. All will work out just disapointing I guess.. Please keep me in your thoughts for finding work.. Im hitting the strets again monday.. Long story but I have to head out looking for an alternate source other than barbering.. grrrr
After this mornings ill luck I decided to spend the day planting and digging up beds... I even found a brick walkway leading to the house from the street.. I used the shovel and uncovered the entire thing.. It looks much better now along with planting th eonly daylilies I was able to bring along for the trip. . That and a few Dahlias I lucked into for 50 cents each as babies.. Can wait to see how they turn out,,,,
Well I better run.. The girls are here and I have 4 kids to get ready for bed..
will update with pics of the front tomorrow...
Huggs
Donna
just peepin in-I'm off again!!!
But B4 I leave-YUCK-I hate rhubarb-too tart-both my moms love it though-BLECH!!
Stacey that is why you put strawberries and lots of sugar with it!!!!
Tinky, just add more sugar!! Your Auntie M loves it also. BJ it is something you need to try--will agree all may not like but I sure am glad I discovered it!! I owe that to my late SIL for making some great pies and cobblers when I lived with them while attending school.
Ladies, we are on the count down now!! Be still butterflies.
Well I guess I will be off to help Kim pack tomorrow. We found some more boxes so we are going to the school and pack as much as we can. I don't have a clue how they are managing to continue with classes and clean out all the shelves, cupboards, book room that they are having to do. Moving 3 school and 5 th grades all at once over the summer just is unreal in my book. Then again, I don't understand all that is going on with this move either.
Have a great day and will join when I can. Oh Trisha, glad you didn't have to make that drive tonight. Rest please.
yuck!!!! Still-too tart and just not my taste
OK-off to be-I have a TON to do tomorrow-have to write 200+ facts about a book I reread today and write a short story along with cleaning, planning for my trip and writing in my book which I didn't get a chance to visit today:(
Ok Tink as long as you are ready to roll come Thursday!!
Count down road trip......Five days til BJs. I'm riding shotgun with Marion!
Cindy, did you dig up your flowers and take them with you?
Trisha, you and Laura will be getting a box of plants from me as promised back in the fall. Laura's got shade now, right? How deep is it? If she gets at least 4-5 hours of sunlight, daylilies there will be fine.
Deborah wish I was going with you:(
Laura has small amount of everything, she has an East, West and Northern exposure. We are so ready for summer and flowers!!!
Good Saturday ladies!
Fresh pot of coffee. How about a slice of carrot cake to go with your coffee? That will sure perk somebody's Saturday up!
Well, Trisha..... ladies.... IT'S DONE!!!!!!!!!
Kel replaced the compressor last night. Took him a while, but he had it working! Saved a bundle.
Donna, your attitude will land you a job. Having a walkway somehow adds a little charm to the garden, especially when it's all weathered.
Good job Laura! That ladybug was morphing into a human.... so the wings are the first to go ;)
Beautiful DL Cody. I'll be off hunting for that yellow rose!! A good way to say 'hello' to a neighbour don't you think? Lol!
Synda.. you're too quiet! What's up sistah?
Deborah, I'm glad you agree to accompany our distinguish Marion here. No telling how much longer that trip will take without you. You know how our lady is.. she'll try to catch the attention of handsome state troopers;) Especially along I-10 there are lots of them.
Maid M..don't hurt your back now, with the packing and moving. Hope it goes smoothly and that you and Kim got lots of help.
That includes Bonnie, Susan, Judy, Cookie, Kim, both Lisas, Audrey, Tina.. must be hiding in their shells.
Sistah Kathy, you do know that we miss you, don't you?
Waving Hi to those I miss..
Off to do morning chores.. see you all later ladies.
Morning ladies... just dropped in real quick because I'm getting ready to leave. Will be back tomorrow evening.
When I signed on, I got a dmail that my subscription will be due on the 23rd... and guess what... that's next Saturday...
So, I suppose when everyone comes next weekend, we'll be celebrating my one year anniversary on DG... that's all we need, just one more thing to celebrate, right?... like we need an excuse.
Yes, Marion... be careful with those boxes... don't want you hurt now...
Deborah... I'm doing the count down too... getting way too excited.
But you come on here and do the official countdown for us everyday... ok? You do it so much better with that southern drawl.
Better go... see ya'll tomorrow.
I'm trying to keep up with the chatter, but with the garden, there's not much time to post.
I'm so looking forward to our visit in Texas and now that I've heard the words, "dark chocolate walnut batch, and oh, my... it's scrumptious", even more so! But BJ, I'm pretty sure that you're going to need more than one batch of that one!!!!! ;o)
We're having rain this morning....sigh....guess I'll have to clean house. :O(
Love you! ♥♥♥
Morning Everyone,
Well my 4runner and utility trailer are loaded. Will be loading the boat and putting houseplants and some outside plants in the motorhome. Then will have to wait for family to get here and that won't be until later this afternoon as my grandaughter has gymnastics this am. My mom was right I have a lot of stuff. The utility trailer is mostly my garden and camping stuff. 4runner is loaded with crafting stuff, lol. And I still have more. I haven't even started on the kitchen yet. Will be spending all day Sun & Mon at mom's getting rooms ready, then back down here. Rick is leaving on an overnight fishing trip Monday morning so I have to be here with the dogs. I told him yeterday that anytime he needs to go out of town overnight I will come stay with the dogs. He doesn't want his daughter here. While I was in Carson City she showed up Saturday with 2 friends. They were drinking and smoking pot (April burned a hole in the new sofa) outside yelling and screaming. I found out from the neighbor. She thought it was Rick and I fighting. She's really bummed that I'm moving, but then she's thinking of going to NC. Her son just signed up with the army to be a drill sargent. He said he really likes it there and that she probably would too.
Deborah, I will be digging up ALL of my plants but not just yet. They are all just now starting to bloom. Rick has promised to keep them watered for me.
Well, I need to get back to packing again. So I will............................................
TTYL ^_^
Hey Joyce,
You can send some rain this way it might cool things off. 98 today 100 tomarrow
Morning everyone! Everyojne is so busy! Deborah, sorry your job did not work out, but maybe it was not to be! You will find a better one soon!
Have a great week-end.
LK

Flaming Kim
Darn It!!! I was going to make a bet on some horses when I was in Carson City and forgot, darn CRS!!! Did you make a bet on that horse Kim? I will be watching them today while packing and loading.
TTYL ^_^ Sure wished I could figure out how to make a butterfly using these symbols.
)!(
Hey Cindy, how about the symbols above? backward parenthsis, with an exclamation in the middle?
LK
YEAH!! that'll work, Thanks LK.
}!{
or this one?
Morning all...............In search of some good gopher wood, may need to start building an Ark. Will this rain ever stop. Got alot of clean up to do today. Gotta get the swimming lessons under way for the chickens. Or make them life vests. I have not EVEN got my maters out yet, only thing in the ground is taters, onions, cukes and beans. Still need to get the okra, squash, blackeyed peas and corn out.
OH I like that one better }!{
^_^
Bet on the long shot Kim. Check out the jockey's stats too.
I don't bet, but that's what I'll go for. :D
Sure hope you strike that million before Friday and can come down to BJ's.
Cindy, just imagine, no more interactions with his daughters. From now onwards, just you and your mum.. no more unneeded baggage.
Cookie, I might have to just increase my insulin and taste some of that dark chocolate walnut and the homemade ice-cream. Ssshhh ... just thinking of them raise my blood glucose!
Yep, Deborah, do the countdown for us. I get my days mixed up a lot.. worse case of CRS here.
Life vests for chickens Tina? Does that involve stuffing them with downy feathers? Too funny!!!! Maybe you could start a duck farm..
So glad to see you with us..
We're off for our usual Saturday shopping. Nothing new right? Just this time it will include Marietta Gardens or Roycroft. Both specialise in daylilies. Terrible to be living so close to Marietta...... try to avoid it like a plague. If you go to their websites, they have daylilies that costs more than some folks' light bill for the month!!!!!!!! But so beautiful.
We'll see you all ladies later.
}i{ nice.......
Yea life vests for the chickens. We have had rain almost every day since April 26th. I think I can count on one hand how many days we have NOT had rain and have fingers left over.
Wish all the rain could go to those who Do Need it.......we finally have a break....sun is out and it is supposed to be in the seventies today and tomorrow!
Cindy I hate packing and moving.....I consider Move to be one of the dirtiest of the four letter words!
Tia I think she's right, you may need to trade those chickens in on some ducks!
Great start to the morning...unplanned Laundry....Sage was sick last night:( But I am hoping she learned a lesson from this......I am always after her not to leave her clothes in the floor when she gets ready for bed.....jammies are fine but she managed to throw up on her clothes she left in the floor. I had forgotten some of the Joys of Children:(
Jaye give Kel a big pat on the back, tell him he can do my A/C next! You guys have fun shopping. I wanted to go up to Bark and Garden and the Red Barn, our two best garden centers, today but I have Sage not feeling well, then we have a Memorial Service to attend this afternoon so guess that is out for today.....maybe between the bike ride and the shop meeting (At my house) tomorrow.
Well as Gran always said, time is a wasting so guess I had better get busy....everyone have a great afternoon, talk to you later.
Hi All,
Hope you all have been well... I have been crazy like always..LOL My mice are almost ready to leave the house and find there own way... The babies are just so cute... I found out they breed at 4 1/2 weeks old... Out they go... I did my best to help them so now they are fed and now they will have to go out and fend for themselves :-)
Today in the yard my hubby and son were moving a pile of junk to take to the iron man and look what they found... This is why I love turtles as this one is not very old at all... a couple months if that. and also a baby garter snake... I love nature...LOL
Ok will post a few pictures then I am off to do my plants... Oh my poppies also opened... so pretty...
Hope you all have been well...
Hugs,
Susan
Here is the turtle.
