mmmm darn would love to have fresh rhubarb to cook with ....another get some day item to plant LOL
Rhubarb blooms? Had no clue it did that but do know it is wonderful in pies!!! Oh my!! Never heard or seen nor tasted rhubard until the year I lived in Canada with my brother and SIL--sure changed my eating habits!! Love that stuff!!

Phyllis, please edit your post, so I don't have to scroll over please?
Thanks
LK
Hummm Trisha, need a plane ticket to come to BJ's? Of course that is pies in hand!!! LOL
Wouldn't that be great...how many pies?!?!?!?!
Humm how many can you get made by then? LOL Of course 1 for me; 1 for Phyllis and possibly 1 for Linda Kay?
......other option, just cut it all down and show up with a cooler full of Rhubarb!!
That works for me too!
Or sell those rhubarb birdbaths?
LK
Since you only use the stalk for Pies, I will have lots and lots of leaves for Birdbaths!!
Ohhhh Cody, those are pretty!!!
Yeap just use that red celery as I hear people call it here!!
Just be sure to cook it first!
Oh I know. I haven't seem very people buying it when it is in the stores here--not sure a lot of them know what it is or what to do with it. Not this family--we love the pies and to make jam with strawberries. Some good eating!!
I LOVE RUBARB!! It is really my favorite of all for pies and cobblers and jam and sauce. I have tried growing it but just not luck. It usually takes about three years until it is ready to pick. Also, usually if it flowers, it has bolted, but this seems a little early for that.
Hey, Trisha, bring plenty!!!
What do you mean bolted?
LK
I can't say that I've ever had rubarb... maybe my mom made it when I was a kid, but I don't remember.... So, Trish... bring plenty just in case I like it... ok?
I just read about "bolted" when I studied up on asparagus... if the sun gets too hot, and it's not harvested in time, it blooms... and that's what's called "bolted". Right, Janice?
2 gallons of ice cream are setting up in the freezer... ready and waiting.
I tasted the dark chocolate walnut batch, and oh, my... it's scrumptious.
New room's made.. sorry ladies. Been busy running errands.
Cody, some of my daylilies start to bloom too. Love those easy babies.
Never had rhubarb.. any easy recipes?
New room ladies.
